Arbeit

This short term camp will be held in coordination with the "Mediterrenian MTV" (GSMTV01) project. STV volunteers will organize workshops for children between the ages of 10-18 about the Sustainable Development Goals, and they will have variable duties according to the needs of the short-term camps. In addition, they will work to construct and pursue different workshops such as soil workshop, wood workshop, creative poster, recycling plastic arts workshop. Our volunteers, who will work with MTV volunteers, should have fluent/advanced English language and be able to teach language to children in basic English. Volunteers who are interested and experienced in digital design, creative handmade posters, social media and promotion, photography and video shooting, video editing, visual arts, English teaching, workshop trainer and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals will be preferred. English speaking clubs can also be organized.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Volunteers will be stay in the modern and comfortable bungalow houses of MUTLU YAŞAM KÖYÜ (Happy Life Village), which is a year-round youth and volunteer center. Air conditioning, shower, toilet and outdoor garden are available for volunteers use. Mutlu Yaşam Village is located in a green and wooded area and is a 15-minute drive to the Mediterranean Sea. Our volunteers will have their meals at the Down Cafe which is a sustainable development project that provides employment and internship opportunities for individuals who have Down Syndrome. The Income from the meals that the volunteers eat here supports individuals with Down Syndrome. Accommodation and meal expenses of our volunteers are covered by Mezitli Municipality.

Lage und Freizeit

Mezitli is the most modern district of Mersin. It is centrally located, easy to reach; near to the sea, working areas and activity centers. After arrive the Adana (neighboring city) by plane, you can easily reach Mersin by taking a train. There are pools and public beaches belong to the Mezitli Municipality. The natural and historical areas you can visit are unlimited. In addition, there will be excursions and activities organized by Mezitli Municipality for you. The "Women Producer Markets" project won the first prize at the "International Guangzhou Urban Innovation Awards" held in China. Mersin-Mezitli Municipality, which is the most successful municipalities in Turkey with it's efforts on social innovation and urban studies, hosts this camp.

Are you in the 14-18 age group and do you want to improve your English in an international group of young people? This is a camp for you to have fun with less work and more speaking. Whatever level you have, like beginner, poor, under intermediate, you will speak a lot to improve your English. Apart from the light daily work, there will be 3 hours outdoor English lessons, night games, afternoon language activities, cultural night and national dance activities. There will be Turkish youngsters as well in the group. So you will have a chance to learn a lot about them and you will introduce your culture and country. You will play games altogether. It will be a great camp, great fun. The work in this camp will be light as practising English is the main aim of the camp. Volunteers and participants will clean the beach / campside and do similar activities together. Besides English practices and activities, volunteers will be responsible for the daily cleaning of the site including the area, kitchen, toilet and bathrooms and other buildings and some landscaping work. Part of the the group will clean the beach.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Under tents. Sleeping bag and mat are necessary. Male and female participants will stay in separated tents. If you prefer privacy you must bring your own tent. Food will be prepared and served by the host with the help of participants.

Lage und Freizeit

Seferihisar is the first slow city (Citta Slow) of Turkey in the West of Turkey. Camp site is by the sea and about 10 km. from the town centre. You can swim everyday and also have a chance to try scuba diving at an extra cost. Work camp site is safe and secure. Shopping possibility is weak, Internet connection is limited.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

SEKADER is a local NGO aiming to socialize disabled people of the area through water sports. They hired a camping site where they teach swimming, kanoing and diving to disabled people. To raise a fund to cover the costs of the camping site they run a camp to practise English.

Arbeit

Our volunteers will work at the camp held in the Tarsus district of Mersin every year. They will take care of the children coming to the camp, guide the activities, clean the environment, do carpentry and transportation works that do not require expertise, take part in canoe and boat activities, do bird watching, create a playground, and do safety and coordination studies in shallow water. They will be able to give English language training, play games and take part in excursions in units such as game workshops and activity centers within the municipality. This camp is a large public camp with mostly young participants. Security and health services are provided at the camp.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Volunteers will stay in Tarsus Youth Camp Bungalow Houses. The rooms are equipped with shower and toilet and most of them are for 2 people. In the accommodation area of ​​the volunteers, there is a survivor track, canoeing activity, gardening, cafeteria and sports areas. Activities such as basketball, archery, volleyball, athletics and cycling can be done; there are artistic events, game rooms, fishing areas and green areas. Volunteers will be able to have their meals in the cafeteria on weekdays. At the weekend, meals will be prepared by the staff at the accommodation.

Lage und Freizeit

Mersin, which is one of the most touristic cities in Turkey, has many natural and cultural heritages belonging to the Ancient Roman and Hellenistic Periods in this region, which has a Mediterranean coast full of palm trees, where many cultures and communities live together. There are excursions and activities organized by our host organization for you. Tarsus Youth Camp, where you will work, hosts many activities. Moreover, there is a chance to participate in summer activities. Some places to visit: Cleopatra Gate, Gülek Castle, St. Paul's Well, Tarsus Waterfall, Roman Road, Kırkkaşık Bedesten, Tarsus Museum, Çamlıyayla, Donuktaş Monument, Karboğazı Kuvayi Milliye Monument, Gözlükule Mound.

Osmaniye is in the east of Mediterranean region of Turkiye on the foothills of the Nur Mountains, a small city with fertile and rich agricultural land. Campsite is in the center of the city. Campus itself is almost as big as a university campus therefore has basketball and volleyball courts etc. City is surrounded by important archeological and historical sites. School administration will organize sightseeing tours to the nearby cities and other historically important sites. Work camp site is safe and secure.

Anreise zum Treffpunkt

Volunteers should fly to Adana Airport on the first day of the camp but should land before 17.00 in order to reach to the school in time. More info will be on the info sheet which will be sent to the placed participants.

Organizing, running and leading activities for the university students. 20-25 university students from different cities of Turkiye will have a chance to experience intercultural learning and different activities during this camp. Including 2 coordination leaders, the majority of the group will be Turkish. Except the leaders, the group members might not able to speak any foreign languages but highly motivated to communicate with the foreign volunteers.For supporting our coordination team, we are looking for 7 volunteers / counsellors who are able to organize, run and lead activities with the participants in different areas such as practicing English, sport, drama, music, chess, indoor-outdoor games, handicraft, dance, etc.

Arbeit

Counselling a group of children aged between 10-14 years old, leading several activities; mainly swimming for them.We are looking for communicative, talkative, active, children friendly volunteers who are at least 20 years old with some abilities on teaching basic English, any sports like basketball, volleyball, swimming, football, table tennis, etc., chess, arts and crafts, music, dance, drama, in and outdoor group games. Ability of swimming is essential and teaching swimming is preferable. Applicants will be interviewed by the camp managers via Zoom / Skype / WhatsApp before being confirmed. A motivation letter should be send along with the application form.You will share the responsibilities of the leading team to take care a group of kids from the beginning till the end of the camp including the trips outside of the camp as well as all kind of activities during the camp. Please note that you will be dealing with the kids through the given and intensive program all day long. You will spend most of your time with the kids in the camp area with a limited private life. Thus, contact with the locals is very limited; however, you will have contact with the working people in the campsite. Volunteers may have fun together only after the kids go to the bed and the team cover the late, daily staff meeting in the camp. Leaving the camp area is not allowed due to unexpected emergency cases. Teamwork is very essential for this camp. Thus, any volunteer who disagrees with the camp rules and team spirit are asked to leave. Smoking and drinking alcohol is not allowed during the camp at the campsite in front of the kids. Please be aware of the rules before applying.

Childhood Dreams is a special project of GHD, designed for disadvantaged children groups aged 10-14. This camp is sponsored by external funds as well as the funds raised by GHD. Anforderungen

Volunteers must be at least 21 years old with experience of the above-mentioned activities or group leading. Non formal education experience is preferred. As the level of English of the camp participants will be very low, the volunteers / counsellors should be talkative, encouraging, communicative, patient, talented and ready to teach. Arbeit

Counselling a group of children aged between 10-14 years old, leading several activities; mainly swimming for them.We are looking for communicative, talkative, active, children friendly volunteers who are at least 20 years old with some abilities on teaching basic English, any sports like basketball, volleyball, swimming, football, table tennis, etc., chess, arts and crafts, music, dance, drama, in and outdoor group games. Ability of swimming is essential and teaching swimming is preferable. Applicants will be interviewed by the camp managers via Zoom / Skype / WhatsApp before being confirmed. A motivation letter should be send along with the application form.You will share the responsibilities of the leading team to take care a group of kids from the beginning till the end of the camp including the trips outside of the camp as well as all kind of activities during the camp. Please note that you will be dealing with the kids through the given and intensive program all day long. You will spend most of your time with the kids in the camp area with a limited private life. Thus, contact with the locals is very limited; however, you will have contact with the working people in the campsite. Volunteers may have fun together only after the kids go to the bed and the team cover the late, daily staff meeting in the camp. Leaving the camp area is not allowed due to unexpected emergency cases. Teamwork is very essential for this camp. Thus, any volunteer who disagrees with the camp rules and team spirit are asked to leave. Smoking and drinking alcohol is not allowed during the camp at the campsite in front of the kids. Please be aware of the rules before applying.

Arbeit

Volunteers will work for stray animals in and around Cide district center during the program. Volunteers will work in the construction, repair, painting and landscaping of animal-friendly shelters and shelters for stray animals in Cide beachfront, surrounding neighborhoods and the center, and will assist the stray animal care support unit. In addition to these, they will also assist the Municipality's Children's Entertainment Centre, Eldercare Center and Tourist Information Bureau. Volunteers will also be able to take part in local festivals in Cide.

Volunteers will stay in tents located by the beach. Tents will be provided to volunteers by the Municipality. Volunteers are required to bring their own mats and sleeping bags. Inflatable mat is recommended. Meals will be prepared by Municipality cooks and volunteers will be provided with meals for three meals a day, seven days a week.

This short term camp will be held in coordination with the Mediterrenian MTV (GSMTV01) project. STV volunteers will organize workshops for children between the ages of 10-18 about the Sustainable Development Goals, and they will have variable duties according to the needs of the short-term camps. In addition, they will work to construct and pursue different workshops such as soil workshop, wood workshop, creative poster, recycling plastic arts workshop. Our volunteers, who will work with MTV volunteers, should have fluent/advanced English language and be able to teach language to children in basic English. Volunteers who are interested and experienced in digital design, creative handmade posters, social media and promotion, photography and video shooting, video editing, visual arts, English teaching, workshop trainer and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals will be preferred. English speaking clubs can also be organized.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Volunteers will be stay in the modern and comfortable bungalow houses of MUTLU YAŞAM KÖYÜ (Happy Life Village), which is a year-round youth and volunteer center. Air conditioning, shower, toilet and outdoor garden are available for volunteers use. Mutlu Yaşam Village is located in a green and wooded area and is a 15-minute drive to the Mediterranean Sea. Our volunteers will have their meals at the Down Cafe which is a sustainable development project that provides employment and internship opportunities for individuals who have Down Syndrome. The Income from the meals that the volunteers eat here supports individuals with Down Syndrome. Accommodation and meal expenses of our volunteers are covered by Mezitli Municipality.

Lage und Freizeit

Mezitli is the most modern district of Mersin. It is centrally located, easy to reach; near to the sea, working areas and activity centers. After arrive the Adana (neighboring city) by plane, you can easily reach Mersin by taking a train. There are pools and public beaches belong to the Mezitli Municipality. The natural and historical areas you can visit are unlimited. In addition, there will be excursions and activities organized by Mezitli Municipality for you. The "Women Producer Markets" project won the first prize at the "International Guangzhou Urban Innovation Awards" held in China. Mersin-Mezitli Municipality, which is the most successful municipalities in Turkey with it's efforts on social innovation and urban studies, hosts this camp.

Are you in the 14-18 age group and do you want to improve your English in an international group of young people? This is a camp for you to have fun with less work and more speaking. Whatever level you have, like beginner, poor, under intermediate, you will speak a lot to improve your English. Apart from the light daily work, there will be 3 hours outdoor English lessons, night games, afternoon language activities, cultural night and national dance activities. There will be Turkish youngsters as well in the group. So you will have a chance to learn a lot about them and you will introduce your culture and country. You will play games altogether. It will be a great camp, great fun. The work in this camp will be light as practising English is the main aim of the camp. Volunteers and participants will clean the beach / campside and do similar activities together. Besides English practices and activities, volunteers will be responsible for the daily cleaning of the site including the area, kitchen, toilet and bathrooms and other buildings and some landscaping work. Part of the the group will clean the beach.

Seferihisar is the first slow city (Citta Slow) of Turkey in the West of Turkey. Camp site is by the sea and about 10 km. from the town centre. You can swim everyday and also have a chance to try scuba diving at an extra cost. Work camp site is safe and secure. Shopping possibility is weak, Internet connection is limited.
