Construction of the workshop place, Volunteer duties in GID association official daily duties, statistical information studies, web site and workshop films, photo and audio editing, poster designs, new workshop social designs, attending local meetings as volunteers, informing local people about what the association does via social media and face to face in English and also volunteering in the steps of workshops according to your expertise. Volunteering/leading workshops if you have an expertise in that field or a great desire of being a part of workshops.
Unterkunft und Verpflegung
Accommodation 1: Located in the city center. Room with private WC and bathroom with bunk beds, dining room and kitchen. Wi-Fi, bicycles, and air conditioning are available. Accommodation 2: Housing near the fable village with beds, WC and bathroom. Food: Kitchen is available, and food is provided by the association. Volunteers will be responsible for cooking.

Pergamon (Bergama) is 2400 years old ancient city designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014. The city center has 50.000 population. It is about 20 minutes drive to the Aegean Sea and forested highlands. There are 114 villages nearby with an additional population of 50.000. All villages have different cultures, environment, and local cuisine. 20 minutes to sea and forest by car.

Social Good Association / Guzel Isler Dernegi (GID) is a workshop and experimentation association that works to improve production, development, sharing and social benefits. GID was created to stand as a model in Turkey that aims to formulate and set up intellectual and practical workshops to benefit Bergama s local people, students, civil society, academicians, and working-class groups. The association s new workshop and fable village unit construction is going to be carried out in 12.500 m2, in the city center of Bergama in a small village that is called YERLITAHTACI. (Instagram/Facebook/Twitter: @guzelislerder) The unit will include many units such as houses, classrooms, dining hall, exhibition units, warehouse, kitchen, and auxiliary units for establishment. The volunteers will both work in the construction and in the workshops that are running in GID. Social Good is defined by activities that make an intellectual or practical contribution to individuals and society. Thinking universally and working locally; we carry out our activities with 52 regional, national, and international partners. We favor transparency, innovation, and ethical values in our activities.GID Workshops are designed for youth, disabled people, students, civil society, academics, working class and local people. We stand as a mediator for attendees to produce, share and develop with intellectual and practical workshops. They are designed for social good by people from different disciplines. In the past 4 years GID managed 116 workshops for 2,483 beneficiaries by volunteering 13,470 hours.GID is accredited by Best Buddies International (BBI) to run e-Buddies project in Turkey. GID is also accredited by Alternative Life Association (AYDER) to run other BBI programs in the Aegean Region of Turkey. AYDER is the official BBI branch that oversees Turkey operations. Bergama Bus Station. Take a flight to Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport, then take IZBAN (train) to Aliaga (final station) and take the bus 815 to Bergama which might take 2 hours 15 minutes in total from the airport to Bergama. Also, direct buses to Bergama are available from Izmir Intercity Bus Terminal. You will be picked up by the association staff from the bus station in Bergama. COVID-19 measures: While travelling to Turkey, PCR test is required for most of the countries. If you have negative PCR test then there is no official quarantine process that you need go through upon your arrival. Please check for exceptional countries for these rules on this website: https://www.turkishairlines.com/en-us/announcements/coronavirus-outbreak/travel-restrictions/ Volunteers will be provided with masks and disinfectant by the local host during the camp. Our camp leaders are well informed about the precautions that are necessary to take according to different scenerios related with COVID-19. IMPORTANT: Due to COVID-19 pandemic, all workcamps are going under re-confirmation process 1 month prior to their starting dates. Accepted volunteers are requested to wait until 1 month left to the starting date of the camp before making their final travel arrangements.
Minimum stay is 1 month. Volunteers can stay up to 3 months. Skype interview will be done by GID before the selection of volunteers. Students, entrepreneurs or experts in; sociology, physiology, architecture, agriculture, anthropology, farming, digital fields (social media-coding-digital marketing-digital tools for associations), video/audio editing, podcast, art, culture, disability, LGBTI and environmental studies are preferable (one or more) - Volunteers will also take care of the utilities that our association has such as guest building, open village field and association buildings.- They will be in contact with our national and international partners for development studies in workshops- Follow up and work for general association studies (workshops - documents - creating workshops - guest management / local volunteer management etc.)The volunteers should have abilities such as:- Computer Skills- Communication skills (English language is a must)- University degree and university student and above is needed.
