Work

This project encourages creativity through collaboration with the ESC team to develop a painting initiative at the Primary School of Cepelos, a small old public school. Supported by coordinators and long-term volunteers, participants will help restore an existing painting or create a new one, and organize 2 interactive activities for the school community. Rooted in solidarity, the project aims to bring joy and creativity to both children. With AMC s experience, you ll have the support to express your artistic talents while making a meaningful impact.

Accomodation and food

Food and Accommodation Accommodation is provided at the youth center, with free laundry. Participants will share rooms with other team members. The youth center is equipped with internet, workspaces, and a bar/restaurant. Meals (vegetarian with protein options) are provided Monday to Saturday at the center, with one non-vegetarian dinner per week. Volunteers receive euro20 for Sunday meals (reimbursed with invoices).

Location and leisure

The Youth Center is located in Amarante, offering volunteers a chance to explore the scenic town during their free time. Workdays start at 9:00 AM and typically end at 4:00 or 5:00 PM, leaving evenings free for leisure. Weekends are free, providing opportunities to discover the local area or relax. Volunteers will also receive a ticket for an independent cultural visit to Porto on the first Sunday, offering insights into the city s rich heritage and culture.

Project hosted by

Local Partners ASSOCIAEO DE PAIS DE CEPELOS and ESCOLA BASICA DE CEPELOS BELA VISTA are key local partners in this European Solidarity Corps (ESC) project. The school, a public primary school located in an old building in Amarante, will provide the space where volunteering activities take place, while the APC will support part of the painting materials and logistical costs. Their close collaboration strengthens the local community spirit and supports a creative, solidarity-driven initiative focused on children and education. Work: Volunteers will work alongside the APC and the school team to carry out a creative and socially impactful painting project. They will be involved in all stages of the artistic process, from concept development and sketching to the final painting, under the guidance of project coordinators.
