The activities take place on the historic naval minesweeper Hr.Ms. Mercuur. Tasks include maintenance such as sanding, painting, and basic woodwork, as well as welcoming visitors, giving tours, creating promotional materials, and doing market research on the ship’s reputation in Vlissingen and Middelburg. The minesweeper is docked and can no longer sail, as its blades have been removed. Working on the ship sometimes requires maneuvering through small rooms and narrow, steep staircases. The deck can become very slippery when it rains, so always wear sturdy shoes.
