The Association San Giovanni Apostolo , founded in 2000, is a local Centro di Animazione Territoriale (Community Animation Center) working with children, youth, young adults, and families in Palermo s suburban area. The center promotes personal growth, mutual cooperation, and the exchange of experiences with other public and private entities. The center aims to foster the development of young people in a stimulating and enriching environment, based on values of solidarity, mutual support, and professional growth. Activities focus on group and individual efforts to build a sense of community ownership and develop social attitudes among young people. Regular activities include after-school support, guitar lessons, sports initiatives, and creative workshops (drawing, theater, sewing). The center also organizes annual football tournaments with other local youth centers to promote social inclusion and civic education through sports. It serves minors and young people aged 6 to 25 facing socio-economic and cultural disadvantages, offering diversified services and activities to support their personal growth. This activity is part of ESC High Priority Area VEIL-CORPS funded by the European Union in the frame of the European Solidarity Corps Programme.
