Work

(1) Share Your Culture: Host a favorite game or cultural activity from your home country, connecting with students and celebrating together at our fun-filled Cultural Day during the Christmas party in a school!

(2) Contribute to a local temple: Connect with a local temple and contribute to the renovation of their spaces, offering a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in Hong Kong's cultural heritage while addressing community needs.

(3) Support the Streetathon Event: Be a part of Hong Kong’s vibrant "RunOurCity" Streetathon, assisting in various roles to ensure the event's success while experiencing the city’s energetic sports culture.

Accomodation and food

Accmodation: Participants will stay at the youth hostel ’TungPo,’ a dynamic center dedicated to fostering creativity, innovation, and diverse learning experiences for young people. The hostel offers top-notch facilities that promote growth through arts and culture, digital and social technology, as well as sports and healthy living. With a global focus, TungPo serves as a platform for local and international youth to connect, share knowledge, and expand their horizons.

Food: Participants won’t need to cook or wash dishes themselves. Meals will be arranged based on the location and activity of the day, with around 5 meals being eaten outside, for which participants may need to bear their own cost (around HKD 60 – 80 per meal).

Location and leisure

Our campsite is situated in the heart of Hong Kong, providing an ideal base for exploration. During their free time, participants can easily explore the city, experiencing daily life in local communities, enjoying the vibrant nighttime lights, and discovering unique finds in nearby shops. With so much to see and do, this camp offers a great opportunity for everyone to fully immerse themselves in the best of Hong Kong during their stay.

Project hosted by

This project is actively working for SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with the local charity and NGO partners of VolTra.

(1) Our main partner, the HKICC Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity, is Hong Kong’s first DSS secondary school offering holistic creative education. With a focus on humanities, it broadens students’ exposure to arts, media, and design, nurturing future talents for the creative industry. We will visit their classes to share our cultures as foreign volunteers.

(2) Another key partner is Kusala Education, which promotes diverse education focused on love, compassion, and well-being. Using the Theory of Multiple Intelligences, they nurture verbal, logical, spatial, and musical skills. Their holistic approach balances STEM education with values that foster personal and social harmony. We will support their local temple in Hong Kong "Po Lin Monastery" with some volunteer work during the camp.

(3) The third partner of this bootcamp is RunOurCity, the organizer of the Streetathon campaign. RunOurCity believes RUN can transform lives. They organise STREETATHONS, hong kong ladies run and other themed running events to nurture fun and compassionate running culture in Hong Kong. Since 2013, they have organized running events for almost 140,000 participants, and raised funds for over 30 charities. We will join them as a cheering team during the camp.
