Work

As part of this project, you'll be helping to build a "self-care" area to complement the facilities already on site. Mainly, you'll be building dry toilets, washbasins, and mirrors for your beauty moments! You'll also develop your DIY spirit by making 99% eco-friendly household products. A great opportunity to try out alternative methods for reducing environmental impact and encouraging more responsible consumption habits.
To make the site more welcoming and, above all, to protect certain areas from the summer heat, you'll start creating a shaded area in the garden. You'll also have the chance to get to grips with the garden, its vegetables and herbs, and put your green thumb to good use.
Finally, weather permitting, you'll get to grips with low-tech toolmaking, and start making wooden games - the big project that will keep our youngsters busy in July. What better way to stimulate your creativity?
There's never a dull moment here! So come and spend two unforgettable weeks and bring Citrus to life with your creations.

Accomodation and food

You'll be accommodated in 8- to 12-person, single-sex collective tents with floors and beds. Amenities include dry toilets and solar-powered showers. A pedal-powered washing machine is available for laundry. There is no wifi connection.
You will take part in the upkeep of the premises and in the preparation of meals, accompanied by an educational supervisor in the kitchen. Choices will be made collectively to ensure a balanced diet based on your tastes and local seasonal produce.

Location and leisure

Near the village of Laguépie (82250), 100 km northeast of Toulouse, between Albi and Villefranche-de-Rouergue.

Leisure activities: In the heart of Laguépie (82250)he Aveyron gorges, you'll be able to take advantage of all the possibilities offered by the Tarn-et-Garonne region: swimming in the Viaur river, accessible on foot, visits to medieval villages, kayaking, visits to Albi cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site. With the support of the animation team, you'll also organize activities and take part in meetings with the local population: international meals, intercultural games, film screenings, traditional festivals, etc.

Project hosted by

Join the Citrus association's major project and help renovate the Laguépie international welcome center. For over ten years, international volunteers have been building, renovating, imagining, and giving shape to a large-scale project.
On the heights of the village of Laguépie, Citrus is a place of sharing and encounters, where young people from all over the world come to contribute to the renovation and fitting-out of the international welcome center. Since 2012, the association's buildings have been in the former hamlet of La Mayounelle: offices, a communal living space and an activity room, all surrounded by fields, a green theater and a vegetable garden. Accompanied by experienced leaders, you'll live at the heart of the association and share daily life with the Citrus team and other volunteers on site.

Directions to meeting point

There is a direct train from Toulouse to Laguépie. The leaders will be waiting for you at Laguépie train station in the afternoon.

Project hosted by

Vir'Volt stands for InteRnational VolunTeer Village (in French). For 3 years, the organisation has been based in the heart of nature, in the middle of a regional park. By welcoming young people from all over the world each year, the future village is being built around a number of different objectives: getting to know each other and learning from our differences, reflecting and acting together to protect the environment, but also having a positive impact on the surrounding area and people by putting solidarity at the heart of each of our actions. Vir'Volt also aims to become fully eco friendly and sustainable which is reflected in our campsite ; yurts and teepees as rooms, permaculture farming and gardening, water saving projects, reducing and reusing waste. This small village will become great without sacrificing or damaging the surrounding environment whilst always searching better and more eco friendly ways of living.

Directions to meeting point

You can arrive at La Ferté-Alais RER station by taking line D of the RER (suburban train) in Paris Gare de Lyon or Gare du Nord.

Additional comments

Work

The aim of this work camp is to help organise the festival by joining the team of volunteers and organisers. As part of a team of volunteers, most of them young people from the village, you'll be helping to set up the site: putting up barriers, erecting tents, etc. But during the festival, you'll also have the opportunity to attend conferences or welcome visitors. You'll need to speak French to share your time with the public and the organisers. You will work 5 to 6 hours a day, spread over the duration of your stay.

Accomodation and food

Participants will sleep in 2-person tents, depending on gender. You must bring your own sleeping-bag and pillow, and we will provide air mattresses. Meals will be prepared, in turn, by you, in particular for lunch and dinner, while respecting environmental values and local resources, as well as the culture of each person (hot and cold dishes as well as for vegetarians and vegans will be prepared). Meals during the festival will be provided by the organisers.

Location and leisure

Couthures-sur-Garonne (47180) 70 km from Agen and 95 km from Bordeaux.

Leisure activites: You will be able to exchange ideas with young people from the village of Couthures, who are themselves involved in the organization of the festival. An excellent opportunity to discover the charms of the region, such as Marmande, the tomato capital and its many activities and festivities. You can swim in the Garonne river at the Parc de la Filhole or enjoy its nature area and discover the surroundings with the Garonne hillsides, its vineyards and wines, or the Canal Latéral. The locals will be delighted to welcome you into their homes for a meal or a chance to chat and discover the region.

Project hosted by

Couthures-sur-Garonne is a charming, peaceful village in south-west France, nestling between the meandering Garonne river. In 2018, it was the birthplace of the International Journalism Festival, sponsored by the Le Monde group (Le Monde newspaper, L'Obs, Télérama, etc.).
Over the course of a weekend, the festival takes over the village and its inhabitants. Meetings, workshops, live performances and screenings will take place all over the village, focusing on "news and journalism". The international workcamp at the heart of the festival provides an intercultural dimension, rich in artistic and intergenerational exchanges.

Directions to meeting point

The meeting point is at Marmande train station on Friday 5th July, between 4 and 5 p.m. The organisers will meet you and take you to the village of Couthures-sur-Garonne (47180). All the information you need to get there will be in the project roadmap.

Work

Give your imagination free rein to create magnificent life-size souvenirs and show off the local archaeological heritage!
The Cherré archaeological site is particularly renowned for its heritage, as it is listed as a Historic Monument. It has also been a listed natural site since 1975, and is much less well-known for its environmental value and biodiversity.
Since 2022, the archaeological site has benefited from a conservation and preservation plan that can no longer be carried out as part of the Concordia project. That's why we've been thinking about setting up another project to enhance the site.

The 2023 project involved creating a large-scale game to showcase the Cherré site. This year, we want to continue the project to showcase the site by creating a photo exhibition! You can bring your own cameras if you like.
We'll help you take the perfect photos.

The aim of the photos is to give tourists a chance to discover the Cherré site in an artistic way. Between biodiversity and archaeology, it's up to you to find the best scenario to showcase this heritage! Make us dream!

You will also be helping to set up events and activities to forge links with local residents: setting up a stall at the Saturday morning market, organising an international meal, the famous aperitif with local residents, proposing service exchanges...

Accomodation and food

All for the adventure! You will sleep in individual tents (bring your own sleeping bag and comforter). The sanitary facilities and the kitchen will be in a building made available to the group. You will share the various collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the animators, you will participate in the shopping and in the preparation of the meals, by privileging healthy and local products. You will be able to exchange your recipes if you wish. The laundry will be done by hand, no WIFI available but you should be able to use mobile data or the hotspots of French volunteers.

Location and leisure

Aubigné-Racan is located in the south of the Sarthe, 40 km south of Le Mans and 15 km west of Chateau du Loir. Meeting times with the inhabitants will be organised through the implementation of service exchanges. For more information on the archaeological site: https://www.vallee-du-loir.com/offres/site-archeologique-daubigne-racan-aubigne-racan-fr-585177/
On the commune of Aubigne-Racan: http://www.aubigne-racan.com/
You will be able to participate in local festivities and activities in July: the parade and fireworks on July 14th, the "Nuit des Chimeres" in Le Mans, discovery of local heritage, hiking.

Project hosted by

Since 2013, we've been working in partnership with the Conseil Départemental de la Sarthe (owner of the site) and the commune of Aubigné-Racan to restore the archaeological site.
Aubigné-Racan, a charming town near the Loire, proud of its archaeological heritage, covers 3203 hectares and has 2112 inhabitants. The jewel of Aubigné's heritage is undoubtedly the monumental archaeological complex composed of a theatre, a temple, thermal baths and markets built in the second half of the 1st century. This archaeological site, property of the Departmental Council of the Sarthe, is one of the most beautiful sites in the Pays de la Loire region. The site is in the heart of the Loire Valley region, rich in built heritage and natural areas.

Directions to meeting point

The meeting point is at the end of the afternoon at the AUBIGNE-RACAN train station on the 10th of July in the end of the afternoon. The exact meeting time will be given with the infosheet which will be sent at the latest 4 weeks before the start of the workcamp.
From Paris, several direct trains leave from Paris Montparnasse with a connection at Le Mans train station. The journey takes about 1.5 hours. On the last day (30/07), the departure time is usually set in the morning.
The exact time of the meeting will be communicated with the roadmap, sent at the latest 4 weeks before the beginning of the work.
Whenever possible, please consider using low-carbon emission transportation (train and bus rather than airplane) for a sustainable international construction site.
For more information about trains: https://www.sncf-connect.com/en-en/
If you are coming first by plane, remember that you will need some time to commute from the airport to the train station, therefore we recommend that you arrive early enough for you not to rush and have a stress free travel.

Additional comments

The work site will take place in a rural environment. Bicycle trips (4 km between the accommodation and the archaeological site) will take place daily, therefore it is important to know how to ride a bike!
Please remember to bring good shoes and clothes that are safe for the work site. Don't forget to bring clothes for the cold and rain and a good warm sleeping bag: the nights can be cold. You can also bring musical instruments, juggling instruments, disguises or other games to show us your talents as well as traditional things from your country/region, photos and so on!
Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

Work

Help us to create pallet outdoor furniture for the commune of Les Mureaux, creating a cheerful, welcoming environment for local residents!
The city of Les Mureaux is home to a number of social and youth structures that are essential to the town's social and cultural activities. You'll be helping to spruce up the outdoor structures, to make them more attractive to all, and the project's aim will be to create an outdoor living room with urban furniture made from reclaimed wood, so that it once again becomes a welcoming and convivial space for all, and especially for the neighbourhood's youth! Workshops to raise awareness of sustainable development and citizenship will be organised.

Accomodation and food

You will be housed in individual tents with indoor toilets and showers at the Val de Seine leisure centre, 15 minutes away from the workshop place. Meals will be collectively prepared by the volunteers, taking turns. The camp leaders will have a budget for grocery shopping, to which you will take part in, preferring healthy and local products. There will be wifi available in the leisure centre main building, but not around the tents. There is no washing machine but laundromats are available around town if necessary.

Location and leisure

Les Mureaux is a western suburb of Paris with 32,000 inhabitants, a little under an hour away from the capital. You will be housed on the Val de Seine leisure island, which offers activities such as the beach, sailing, fishing, mini-golf, canoeing, or horse riding (note that only the beach and park are accessible free of charge). The social centre is only 15 minutes away from the leisure base, and you will be driven there and back each day. An outing will also be organised in Paris.

Project hosted by

For the third year in a row, Concordia is pleased to partner up with the Les Mureaux Municipality. We are bridging the gap between the citizen passport project (a participative financing project for underprivileged youth in Les Mureaux) and Concordia volunteering. You will team up with young people benefiting from the project thanks to the municipality who has initiated this partnership with the objective of getting young people involved through a cohesive and socially responsible approach.

Directions to meeting point

The meeting-point is set for the 16/07 at 3pm at the LES MUREAUX station. To arrive there you will need to take the line J regional train from the Paris Saint-Lazare station.

If you are arriving at the Orly airport, you will need to take the OrlyVal bus to Antony, then take the RER B to Châtelet, and finally metro line 14 to Saint-Lazare station

If you are arriving at the Roissy - Charles de Gaulle airport you will need to take the RER B to Gare du Nord station, then the RER E to Haussmann - Saint Lazare (take the escalator to pôle Saint Lazare, not pôle Haussmann)

If possible, please consider using low-carbon transportation (train and bus rather than aeroplane) for a sustainable international workcamp.
For more information on trains, metros, RER and local bus lines, please visit: https://www.sncf-connect.com/en-en/

Additional comments

Think about taking gloves, clothes and shoes adapted for work. The nights can be quite cool, so take a warm duvet or sleeping bag. If you wish to share with the other volunteers, you are also welcome to bring recipes, musical instruments and any other traditional things from your country/region.

The departure is set on the last day (30/07), usually in the morning.

Work

This is a historic project for Concordia Normandie-Maine. After a 20 year hiatus, we are once again working with the commune of Saint Germain de Martigny!
More than twenty years ago, the mayor of the village asked Concordia Normandie-Maine to create wooden cladding around the village hall. The years have gone by, and the mayor's son, who is now the current mayor of Saint Germain de Martigny, has once again called on Concordia to restore the cladding that was installed twenty years ago!

The aim of the project is to sand and repaint all the wooden cladding on the village hall and village hall to give them a brand new look!

Accomodation and food

All for adventure! You'll sleep in individual tents near the mini golf course at Saint Germain de Martigny (bring your own sleeping bag and sleeping mat). The sanitary facilities and kitchen will be in a building close to the site. You will share the various collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the leaders, and you'll help with the shopping and meal preparation, giving priority to healthy, local produce. You can exchange recipes if you wish. Laundry will be done by hand. There is no WIFI connection.

Location and leisure

Saint Germain de Martigny is in the south of Orne, in Normandy. Situated 30 minutes' drive from Alençon, it will delight nature-lovers with its peace and quiet and its local landscapes.

Project hosted by

This is our second year working with Saint Germain de Martigny, after a break of over twenty years!
Saint Germain de Martigny is a small village of 80 inhabitants in the Orne department. A few years ago, the village was famous for its large golf course, which was destroyed over the years. Today, the village wants to regain its reputation by rehabilitating its leisure centre!

Directions to meeting point

The meeting point is set for late afternoon at l'Aigle station on 02/08. The exact time of the meeting will be communicated with the route map, sent out no later than 4 weeks before the start of the worksite.
Several direct trains leave from Paris Montparnasse. The journey takes approximately 1 hour and a half.

Train reservations are possible approximately 4 months before departure on the SNCF website, link below:
https://www.sncf-connect.com/
As far as possible, remember to use low-carbon means of transport (train and bus rather than plane) for a sustainable international site.

Additional comments

The worksite will take place in a rural environment. We try to make our workcamps more responsible and more consistent with ecological issues. For example, we encourage groups to discover the area using as little car journeys as possible. Car journeys will therefore be reduced.
Don't forget to take good shoes and clothes that won't get wet when you're on site. And don't forget to pack clothes for the cold and rain and a good, warm sleeping bag: the nights can be chilly. You can also bring along musical instruments, juggling instruments, costumes or other games to show us your talents, as well as typical products from your region!

The departure is set on the last day of the workcamp (02/08), usually in the morning.

Work

Come join one of the biggest solidarity movements in France, but also in the world!
You will participate in an international workcamp of volunteers with the Emmaus community in Escalquens, near Toulouse, in the South West of France.

4 days a week, you will help and work with the companions and the volunteers of Emmaus to develop the economic, social and solidarity activity: upgrading waste, receiving and sorting donations, and re-selling second-hand objects.
You will actively participate in the organization of the great clearance sale that will take place towards the end of august.

You will also actively take part in the organization of the “La Grande Braderie”, a big second flea market event that could take place at the end of August.
You will work approximately 30 hours per week. You will have three resting days to do activities and discover places around.

Accomodation and food

The companions will welcome you to their community. To share the same living place with the companions means that you have to respect the community rules and adapt yourself to the modalities of the collective life.

You will stay in individual tents on the site of Emmaus Escalquens. You will have access to bathrooms and showers. Washing machines and Wifi are available at the accommodation.

Location and leisure

You will interact with young locals and decide together on what to do during your free time.
Escalquens (6000 inhabitants) lies at the gates of the Laurageais area, nestled among sunflower-covered hills and small, charming houses. In this beautiful setting, you will find a bridge from 1772, a pink brick castle from 1568 and a 14th-century church. At the Cousquille crossroads, you will discover local shops and the Sunday market.

During your days off, you can reach Toulouse in less than one hour by bus. Toulouse is a beautiful, innovative, cultural and dynamic student city famous for its rich heritage.
In the surrounding area, you will also get to discover villages, castles, and wine estates, as well as the UNESCO World Heritage site, “Canal des Deux Mers.”

Project hosted by

The solidarity movement of Emmaus was created in 1949. Emmaus supports a vision of the society in which the Human Being is the heart of the system, and where everyone finds his or her place. Emmaus is a solidarity movement. It develops original and uncommon solutions to fight against exclusion and defends values such as welcomeness, inclusivity and solidarity. Since 1971, Emmaus has taken part in an international network: Emmaus International, made up of groups located in 37 different countries.

Emmaus Escalquens was founded in 1995, first, to welcome international volunteers. A community area was then quickly installed, in an old building overlooking fields. Today, more than 20 companions live on the site and develop solidarity activities.

Emmaus is a recognized local influencer in the social and solidarity economy. The site of Escalquens is distinguished by its often-original gifts and products, such as those related to the field of vintage or retro!

Come back again in a few years to see how much your work has done for the local community!

Directions to meeting point

The meeting point is scheduled at the ESCALQUENS Train Station at the end of the afternoon of the 7th of August. The exact meeting time will be given with the infosheet which will be sent at the latest 4 weeks before the start of the workcamp.
From PARIS, you can take the train from Montparnasse train station to TOULOUSE Matabiau train station, regular departures are scheduled throughout the day (about every hour). Work

During the mornings on site, you will be asked to carry out various activities that will help to beautify our reception area. During this workcamp, you'll be carpenters, small masons, big gardeners and, why not, good cooks!

Guided by our technical supervisor, you'll set off in search of hidden treasure - or almost hidden treasure! Not far from our hamlet, you'll be looking for and cutting wood. But that's not all! This "treasure" will enable you to build shelters and garden furniture, using the traditional carpentry techniques that you will learn during your stay.

You'll also learn the basics of masonry by building retaining steps, benches and low stone walls. And what better way to endow the site than with some nice resting spots to relax in after a long morning on the site?

You'll be exploring our garden and harvesting the last vegetables of the season. Another major part of the work will be to prepare the garden for hibernation. This is a fundamental stage in ensuring that the soil builds up its reserves and comes back in good shape the following year to guarantee another delicious season!

In addition to the work described above, a small team will be responsible for preparing meals for the whole group. But, to make these preparation times more dynamic, get in the saddle of a blender bike that you'll make from recycled materials and prepare drinks that will make your breaks more refreshing.

All aboard for Tarn-et-Garonne. Next stop: Laguépie!

Accomodation and food

You will be accommodated in collective tents for 8 to 12 people, single sex, with floors and beds. Facilities include dry toilets and solar-powered showers. A pedal-powered washing machine is available for laundry. There is no Wi-Fi connection.
You will take part in the upkeep of the premises and in the preparation of the meals, accompanied by an educational supervisor in the kitchen. Choices will be made collectively to promote a balanced diet based on your tastes and local seasonal produce.

Location and leisure

On the Citrus association's international host site, near the village of Laguépie, in the Aveyron gorges, 100 km north-east of Toulouse, between Albi and Villefranche-de-Rouergue.
Leisure activities : In the heart of the Aveyron gorges, you'll be able to take advantage of all that the Tarn- et-Garonne region has to offer: swimming in the Viaur river, which is accessible on foot, visits to medieval villages, kayaking, and a visit to Albi cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site. With the support of the activity team, you will also organise activities and take part in social events with the local population: international meals, intercultural games, film screenings, traditional festivals, etc.

Project hosted by

Join the Citrus association's major project and help renovate the Laguépie international reception centre. For over ten years, a succession of international volunteers have been building, renovating, imagining and giving shape to a major project.
On the heights of the village of Laguépie, the Citrus association is a place where young people from all over the world come together to help renovate and fit out the international welcome centre. Since 2012, the association's buildings have been located in the former hamlet of La Mayounelle: offices, a communal living area and an activity room, all surrounded by fields, a green theatre and a vegetable garden. Accompanied by experienced leaders, you will live at the heart of the association and share daily life with the Citrus team and other volunteers on site.

Directions to meeting point

We’ll be waiting for you at the train station.

Additional comments

It will bring together volunteers from France, Germany and Armenia and will offer partial reimbursement of travel costs.
