Travail

You'll be working on the consolidation of a stone stairway in the historic center of the small town of Serres. After a preliminary clearing of the site, you'll work on consolidating the stone steps and creating a dry-stone border on the side.
A local expert will guide you in the staircase maintenance, the choice of stones, and their correct positions. Each day, two members of the group will rotate to prepare meals for the team; the menu will be defined in advance. You'll work on-site during the mornings from Monday to Friday.
Generally speaking, the tasks include working with dry stone, preparing tools and meals, as well as organizing and setting up group life.

Logement et nourriture

You'll be accommodated in individual tents in the outdoor spaces of the municipal gymnasium, with access to the building's services and kitchen.
The construction site is 1 km from the accommodation site, which can be reached on foot or by shuttle bus.
Here, we take care with our food to reduce our environmental impact: we eat local as much as possible and reduce our meat consumption to twice a week.
Daily life is organized collectively: menus (vegetarian, vegan diets, etc.), shopping, activities, and so on.

Situation, loisirs

Land of light, scents and flavors, the Baronnies Provençal is a land where the sweetness of life is combined with the practice of outdoor sports like idleness! This place is rich in natural and agricultural heritages adapted to the Mediterranean climate under alpine influence. The Provencal Baronnies are marked by fragrant, aromatic and medicinal plants: wild thyme, rosemary, lavender. Discovering this place in the company of a group of international volunteers will enrich your experience. In fact, you'll be the protagonists of your stay: you'll organize your own free time and benefit from the support of an animation team. In the afternoons, workshops and reflections on the theme of well-being will be offered.

Partenaire

Come to discover one of the small perched towns in France's Southern Alps! The town of Serres, which backs onto the Pignolette rock, comprises narrow medieval streets, covered passageways, and steep slopes. That makes it a pleasant place to wander. In this context, we invite you to participate in a project to restore an old shortcut in the historic center. For several years now, in partnership with the commune of Serres, the association Les Villages des Jeunes has been working to bring the town's narrow medieval streets to life, maintain and valorize them. The various projects we organize on this site aim to enhance and consolidate these unusual urban passages while enriching their history through the intercultural exchanges typical of international workcamps.

You'll be working on a timber frame for a hiking shelter, located in the immediate proximity of the Abbey of Clausonne. A local carpenter will guide you in assembling the supporting structure, making the joints, and building the floor. Each day, two members of the group will rotate in preparing meals for the team; the menu will be defined in advance. You'll work on-site during the mornings from Monday to Friday.

Indeed, this spot in the wilderness is ideal for enjoying mountain walking and wandering. You'll have the chance to discover the area in the company of a group of international volunteers, which will enrich your experience. Here, you'll be the protagonist of your stay: you'll organize together your free time with the support of our staff.

A small valley in the heart of a sublime alpine landscape, the remains of the 12th-century abbey of Clausonne, and a 300 km hiking trail that crosses the site. All this invites you to discover this rural area and its history! Here, for the past 30 years, a local association has been involved in preserving and promoting the site, as well as contributing to the life of Clausonne and writing its present-day history.
Last summer, work began on the construction of a hiker's shelter on the site. As this is a stage on an itinerary of ancient transhumance routes, you'll be contributing to welcoming cyclists and hikers for years to come.
This project is just one of the many initiatives in which international and local volunteers, the people on work integration programs, and other professionals have participated over the years.
You'll be staying at the Ferme du Faï, an old mountain farmhouse that's kept alive by a team of employees working on the renovation of the buildings, artists and musicians in artistic residences, hikers passing through, and the curious. Roll up your sleeves and join us on-site and in our collective living space!

Travail

You're in for a unique experience aboard the Hermione frigate!
Accompanied by volunteers and professional sailors who work on the restoration of the boat throughout the year, you will discover traditional techniques: repairing the wooden parts that make up the boat's structure, tarring ropes, painting, etc. Alongside the main tasks on the frigate, the sailors on site will teach you about the history of the boat and sailing techniques. You don't need any special skills, just a lot of motivation!

Logement et nourriture

This workcamp is like no other!
You will be accommodated directly on board the boat, in a shared cabin with individual wooden berths. The whole group will be in the same cabin, so you'll be in real sailing conditions. You will also be able to use other areas of the boat for group time and meals. The boat is not on the water; it is currently being refitted.

On land, there are several temporary structures with a kitchen, sanitary facilities, showers and a communal living room.
You will share the various collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the leaders, and you will help with the shopping and meal preparation, giving priority to healthy, local produce.

Together, you'll help organise community life (cleaning, activities, etc.) and take turns preparing meals using locally sourced produce. We want to encourage vegetarian eating with local, seasonal produce, while respecting the diets of the participants and discovering local cuisine together.
You'll be living with a number of other volunteers (most of them French) who are on site throughout the year to restore the boat, including professionals from the sector, sailors and carpenters, who will be able to guide you through the technical tasks to be carried out on the boat and pass on their passion!

Situation, loisirs

The boat is currently located in Anglet, on the Basque coast. So you'll be close to the ocean and its beaches, between the magnificent towns of Bayonne and Biarritz. On the programme: discover the Basque heritage, its culture, its gastronomic specialities and its people. There are plenty of outdoor activities on offer, from beach and surfing to hiking in the Pyrenees... Most of the journey is by public transport, and the boat is located near the Adour, at the entrance to the port of Bayonne. It's close to several shops.

Partenaire

In 1992, a group of maritime history enthusiasts set up the Hermione-Lafayette Association, with the aim of rebuilding a late 18th century frigate in the heart of Rochefort's historic arsenal. A long period of preparatory work then began, with the collection of historical sources, the reconstitution of plans, the search for funding, the launch of a call for tenders to find a builder... The worksite was launched on 4 July 1997. The boat sailed for several years and visited several cities in France and around the world. For several years now, the boat has had to be taken out of the water to be restored, so it was transported to Anglet, where a number of volunteers and professionals are working to repair it so that it can be put back in the water as soon as possible! You are going to be part of this work.

Come and take part in the project to protect several natural sites in the Basque Country! The programme includes guided tours with specialists from the Department and the Conservatoire des Espaces Naturels to discover the flora and fauna on site, as well as a range of different tasks: cutting down and removing invasive exotic species on wet moorland, repairing and installing fences in the mountains, creating sunbathing stations for the European pond terrapin (tortoise)... You'll have the opportunity to work on different sites in the middle of nature!

Logement et nourriture

You will be accommodated in individual tents, with sanitary facilities, kitchen and communal living area in the small village of Itxassou at the foot of the mountains. You will share the various collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the leaders, and you will help with the shopping and meal preparation, giving priority to healthy, local produce.

Don't forget to bring work clothes and shoes that won't get dirty.

In the mountains, despite the sunshine, the weather is surprising and can change rapidly.
For leisure activities, you'll need to pack clothes suited to the climate (warm fleece or jumper, shorts and hiking trousers, windbreaker, down jacket, warm socks, etc.). For hiking, high-top, notched shoes are recommended. Don't forget sun protection (a hat or cap is essential, sunglasses with a high protection factor because of the intense reflection, sun cream with a high protection factor IP 30-50, etc.) and a swimming costume for swimming or white-water activities.

For accommodation, remember to bring a warm sleeping bag and a towel. You should also bring a rucksack (in addition to your luggage), comfortable trainers and a pair of flip-flops. You'll also need to pack these essential accessories: a mobile phone charger, hiking poles (not compulsory, but recommended), a water bottle, a set of bandages and a headlamp or torch.

Social events will be organised in collaboration with our leaders and according to your wishes. In particular, we'll be organising themed evenings in each country. If you'd like to share a little of your culture (recipes, traditional stories, unusual objects, music, etc.), don't hesitate to take it with you.

The Basque mountains are characterised by the presence of small wetlands on the slopes, known as peat bogs, in the middle of pastures and moors.
There are also other wetlands along the banks of the River Adour, known as barthes. These areas are subject to various pressures, including invasive alien species, pastoralism and tourism. The various sites you will be working on, the Mondarrain and Sare peat bogs and the Mouguerre and Lahonce barthes, are protected natural areas managed by the Pyrénées Atlantiques department and the Conservatoire des espaces naturels. A whole host of actions are necessary throughout the year to preserve these fragile environments, so you'll be taking part in this work and supporting the teams on site. Numerous awareness-raising missions are also carried out throughout the year with schoolchildren and local residents to raise awareness of the remarkable animal and plant species. The workcamp will not only be an opportunity to help preserve these unique places, but also to discover all their secrets thanks to the many specialists who will be on hand to show you around the site.

You'll be helping to restore this site, known as Place Molines. Following numerous consultations with village residents, objectives for the transformation of this place were listed. In 2024, volunteers created trellises to provide shade and seating. This year, a wooden kiosk-type shelter will be built on the square to enhance the facilities of this new square. In this way, you'll be helping to design a friendly, intergenerational leisure area, bringing freshness to the site by creating this shaded space, enhancing the setting: river Tarn, views of the Mont Lozère massif, peace and quiet, and finally making the place welcoming, safe and clean. 25h/week

Logement et nourriture

The workcamp will take place in a particularly isolated area, where you will be accommodated in the village gîte. You will have access to sanitary facilities and a communal kitchen. Meals will be provided by the association and prepared in turn by the participants.

Situation, loisirs

Far from the French metropolises, Lozère is nonetheless a very dynamic region. The region's activities revolve around local festivities, concerts and unspoilt natural areas (mountains, rivers, forests).

Partenaire

The workcamp will take place in the commune of Pont-de-Montvert, near Mont-Lozère in the heart of the Cévennes. The aim of the project is to help build a new town square. This square has historically been home to sports facilities, in particular the former tennis courts in the village. Eymet is a charming medieval Bastide town in the Périgord Pourpre region of the Dordogne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. Founded in 1270, this small town embodies the authenticity and charm of the Bastide towns, the fortified towns typical of southwestern France. Eymet is built around its central square, lined with arcades and bustling with cafés, restaurants and shops.
Its rich historical heritage can be seen in the cobbled streets, the fortified church of Saint-Etienne and the remains of its medieval castle, offering a journey back in time. History buffs will also appreciate the half-timbered and stone houses that bear witness to its past. Eymet is particularly well known for its strong British community, which contributes to its cosmopolitan atmosphere while preserving a Perigordian art of living.
Eymet's mill, located on the banks of the River Dropt, is one of the most emblematic symbols of this Bastide in the Périgord Pourpre. Full of history, it bears witness to the importance of mills in the medieval and modern economy of the region, where they were mainly used to grind the grain produced in the rich surrounding farmland.
You will take part in this architectural and human adventure by preparing the mill for summer events. You'll round off your stay by taking part in the local heritage and mill festival, which is held every year on the last weekend in June to kick off the summer season.

As part of this project, you will participate in morning work sessions to build a wooden movable bar several meters long. With Rémi, a local carpenter-joiner, who will be your technical supervisor for these two weeks, you’ll learn woodworking and gradually create this key piece, which is essential for the festival.

You’ll also work on building a welcoming wooden arch, which will help greet visitors and festival goers who come every summer to participate in the iconic Les Nuits Guépiennes festival in Laguépie. This festival, which takes place in July and August, celebrates poetry, literature, music, and the arts in general. You can find a short summary of the last year’s festival here: https://youtu.be/9r8VUrA3ks0?si=Xk7GS4U0R62cB4XI.

If you have some free mornings, you will also create signage to be installed in the village and along the Viaur river, where artists perform.

All of this will be done with professional help and supervision. No prior skills required, only the motivation to learn!

Afternoons will be dedicated to various recreational activities and discovering the region. You can go hiking, canoeing, visit beautiful medieval villages, or explore cities steeped in history. You can also swim directly in the Viaur River at Laguépie.
With the support of the animation team, you will also organize activities and engage in meetings with the local community: international meals, intercultural games, film screenings, dance parties, etc.

Partenaire

Ready to be part of a collaborative adventure? Join us in preparing Les Nuits Guépiennes, a vibrant festival that brings together 2000 people every year along the Viaur River. Get involved behind the scenes and work alongside the dedicated volunteer team of “P’Tite Lumière et Cie” to help build and shape this exciting event. Your energy and enthusiasm will make all the difference!

You will be involved in constructing structural elements like a movable bar, a wooden arch, and signage essential for the smooth running of this wonderful event. You will also discover the values of the CITRUS association, its operating methods as an international welcoming place that promotes living together, sharing, and diversity. It’s a real little haven of peace. Guided by our supervising team, you’ll experience life in the heart of the association, sharing daily life with the Citrus team, international volunteers, and local volunteers from the Guépienne association.

Join us for an adventure dedicated to making a mountain refuge accessible to all !

In the heart of the Vercors Regional Natural Park, between the majestic mountains of Isère and Drôme, lies the village of Le Percy. In this preserved natural setting, we invite you to take part in an exceptional project combining craftsmanship and collective engagement.

This ambitious project aims to improve the infrastructure of the communal refuge in Esparron, a welcoming place for hikers and mountain lovers. Under the guidance of « Les Abeilles Charpentières », passionate carpentry artisans, participants will build a covered access ramp for people with reduced mobility and an emergency exit, making the refuge more inclusive and safer. Depending on the progress of the work, additional improvements may be made, such as installing dry toilets for the bivouac, creating a cozy fire area, and implementing other environmentally friendly features.
Whether you are passionate about construction, nature lovers, or simply eager to participate in a collective project, this unique experience awaits you !

Logement et nourriture

The communal refuge of Esparron, located at 1,460 meters altitude in the heart of the Vercors Regional Natural Park, will serve as your base camp throughout the project. During the first week, you will stay in individual tents (provided by Concordia) set up outside the refuge. You will have access to the refuge’s sanitary facilities and equipped kitchen. For this tent stay, be sure to bring a sleeping bag suited to cold mountain temperatures (ideally with a comfort range of around 0°C to -5°C) and a camping mat for extra comfort. During the second week, you will be housed inside the refuge, which offers several dormitory-style sleeping areas with beds.
Daily communal life will be organized around sharing responsibilities, including cooking, cleaning, and group activities. You will prepare meals together, prioritising local and seasonal products and vegetarian options.

Please note that the refuge is off-grid: there is no Wi-Fi or mobile network coverage. A washing machine is unavailable, so you will need to wash your clothes by hand if necessary.

Situation, loisirs

Le Percy is a village nestled in the heart of the Trièves, offering an authentic setting surrounded by unspoilt landscapes combining mountains, forests and meadows. For water sports enthusiasts, activities such as kayaking are available on the surrounding rivers. These leisure activities will be organized according to the group's wishes and weather conditions. Time will also be set aside for discussions with local residents and visits to heritage sites, so that you can fully immerse yourself in local life and understand the conservation issues facing the region, all thanks to the site supervisors.

Partenaire
