Travail

From Luz-Saint-Sauveur, the Pyrenees Mountains are all yours. All the best hiking sites, peaks and highlands are easily accessible. Here, you will find the freedom to breathe freely, move, broaden your horizons and enjoy!

Luz-Saint-Sauveur was a thermal hub for the noble and wealthy throughout the 1800s : the medicinal bathing sites attracted emperors, artists, intellectuals and more. Amongst the historical figures that often visited Luz was the French emperor Napoleon III (grandson of Napoleon Bonaparte) who had fallen in love with the town and surrounding mountains, he encouraged the development of the village throughout the 1860s. Today Luz probably has the best-conserved heritage from that era in France and elsewhere.

The great writer Victor Hugo described Luz as a “charming old town… beautifully situated in a deep triangular valley… When the miquelets (Catalan militia men) and Spanish smugglers arrived from Aragon … they saw a great light… They named this town light, or Luz.”

Your job will consist of the requalification of an old amphitheater nearby the post office. You will learn the art of masonry and revegetation techniques, to enhance the space and make it accessible for everyone. Throughout your whole stay, you will be accompanied by camp leaders, one being a technical facilitator who will teach you and help you master the techniques of traditional masonry.

Logement et nourriture

You will be accommodated in an individual tent, with access to toilets, shower and kitchen. The group will be sharing the cleaning chores and preparing meals together. The budget will be allocated to the group leader and you will participate in the grocery shopping and in the preparation of meals, prioritizing products from the market and local producers.
Please bring your sleeping bag and mat. You will wash your clothes and other items manually. Wifi is not available, French volunteers can share their internet connections via a hotspot.

Situation, loisirs

Luz Saint Sauveur is in the Hautes-Pyrenees County, south-west of France near the pilgrimage city of Lourdes. It is close to the most beautiful natural sites of the Pyrenees Mountains: Midi Peak, Gavarnie Valley, Bridge of Spain, Neouvielle Natural Park, Pyrenees National Park (with many highland lakes).
The beauty and diversity of this county presents a great historical, architectural and environmental interest.

Partenaire

The municipality has been developing a large project to restore its local heritage, especially through international workcamps. For over 6 years the volunteers of Concordia and from the whole world have been renovating old streets, washhouses, fountains, and hiking trails.

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting point is set at the LUZ-SAINT-SAUVEUR - tourist office bus station, on the 7th of June at 6 PM.
Once you reach LOURDES train station (direct trains from PARIS, TOULOUSE, and BORDEAUX), take the bus n°965 to LUZ-SAINT-SAUVEUR (about 30 minutes). From PARIS, you can reach LOURDES from the Montparnasse train station.
LUZ-SAINT-SAUVEUR is also accessible by the night train for those who would like to try it!
The trains are open to booking about 4 months before the departure dates, accessible on the following website:
https://www.sncf-connect.com/en-en/
If you are coming first by plane, remember that you will need some time to commute from the airport to the train station, therefore we recommend that you arrive early enough for you not to rush and have a stress free travel.
If possible, please consider using low-carbon transportation (train and bus rather than airplane) for a sustainable international workcamp.

In the heart of the “Pays du Haras”, in the department of Orne, come and discover the Bourg-Saint-Leonard, a 12th-century castle, classified as a Historic Monument in 1942.
On the domain, you can find the castle, an orangery, stables, caretaker's lodgings, a garden and orchard, a park and a 400-hectare forest. The Chinese boudoir and library were restored over several months.
The commune of Gouffern en Auge has embarked on a vast project to restore the various parts of the estate over several years. This project is being monitored and coordinated by architects of historical monuments. You will continue the restoration of the wall, staking the mortar and repointing with a lime mortar (a masonry technique used with old buildings). You will be accompanied by skilled guides throughout the project to help you learn these techniques step by step!

Logement et nourriture

You will be staying close to the Château du Bourg Saint Léonard. This means you can easily walk to the site each day. The accommodation will be in individual tents (bring your own sleeping bag and warm duvet). The kitchen and living area, as well as showers and toilets, will be close to the camp. You'll be able to enjoy the view of the castle as you go about your daily life. Volunteers will be able to share their internet connection (no WIFI), and laundry will be done by hand.
You'll share collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the leaders, and you'll help with shopping and meal preparation, giving priority to healthy, local produce, and exchanging recipes if you wish.

The workcamp will take place in the village of LE PORGE, a small commune in the Médoc between pine forests and ocean beaches. You'll be taking part in the construction of semi-circular, removable wooden bleachers, which will be used to welcome audiences for open-air shows, as well as creating outdoor furniture out of pallets for the terrace of a community café in the town centre. In this way, you'll be supporting the local community's project to bring its community café to life and encourage residents to make it their own, so it becomes a lively and welcoming place. You will be supervised by a technical coordinator who will teach you wood construction techniques.

Logement et nourriture

You will be accommodated in individual tents at the "La Grigne" municipal campsite, a stones throw away from the Landes dunes and the ocean. A bungalow will be available for cooking. Wifi available, the laundry will be done by hand.
Together, you'll help in community tasks (cleaning, activities, etc.) and take turns to prepare meals using local products. We do our best to prioritise vegetarian diets using local, seasonal products, while ensuring that all participants' diets are respected and while also offering the opportunity to taste local cuisine.

Situation, loisirs

Le Porge is just 1 hour from Bordeaux and two steps away from the Arcachon basin.
There are many leisurely activities available such as surfing, forest walks, canoeing, kayaking and paddle boarding on the canal. So there are plenty of activities to choose from, and they will all be organised to suit the group.

Partenaire

Le Porge is a commune in the south-west of France, in the Gironde department (Nouvelle-Aquitaine region). Le Porge has a supervised public beach known as the "Plage du Gressier".
The community café has been the commune’s project for several years now. The house where the café is located is currently under construction. The work will be completed before the start of the project. Your worksite is therefore a continuity of this project to develop the outdoor living space and bring it to life for the residents.

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting point is at Bordeaux SNCF station on 14/06 in the late afternoon.
The exact time of the meeting will be communicated with the route map, which will be sent out no later than 4 weeks before the start of the project.
On the last day (28/06), the departure time is usually set in the morning.

Discover the rich heritage of the town, with its archaeological oppidum, its “capitelles” (huts made of dry stones) and old dry stone walls, and its calades. Your work will consist of enhancing the site by carrying out small-scale landscaping work, clearing undergrowth and making small improvements to the existing calade. This work is therefore essential to maintain the path while allowing visitors, walkers and the curious people of all horizons to come and discover this rich heritage!

Dare to be in the mountains... the high mountains! In the heart of the Mercantour National Park, at an altitude of 2200m, lies the magnificent Sanguinière hut. Built over a hundred years ago from dry stone, this hut was used to shelter shepherds. Now out of use, it will be the focus of this original and unforgettable project. For those who love the mountains, outdoor life and evenings under the stars, for sports enthusiasts, for those who want to learn to live with the bare minimum... dare to go to the mountains!

You will be leading the restoration of the pastoral hut, at altitude, using traditional techniques (dry stone) for the walls and the construction of the larch under-roof. The technical aspects of this project, as well as life in the mountains, require you to be in good physical shape.
Our aim with this project is to return to the origins of international work camps for young volunteers. The location is exceptional, and life in the mountains is unforgettable. It's a unique project that has been organised by several partners.

Taking part in this work camp requires you to be physically and mentally fit enough to: climb the mountain with a lot of weight (your bags, food, tent), live in the high mountains with the bare minimum (no internet), swim in high mountain lakes, respect nature (flora and fauna), sleep in a tent, take part in the restoration of a dry stone pastoral hut, hike back down to the village (1h30min walk each way). You will be asked to provide a letter of motivation for taking part, in which you can describe your experience and/or your desire to take part in this type of project.

Logement et nourriture

Accommodation during the week will be in individual tents, in the high mountains (2200m altitude). You will set up the tents and your bags on foot (1h30min walk).Cooking will take place in a hut close to the Sanguinière hut, where a gas cooker and (rustic) cooking equipment are installed. The toilets will be dry and the showers solar-powered.

Weekend accommodation will be in the village hall, which is a hard-standing building (very large single room, mattresses on the floor). There will be solid sanitary facilities and a well-equipped kitchen.

You will share the various collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the leaders and you will help with the shopping and meal preparation, giving priority to healthy, local produce.

Situation, loisirs

Saint Pons is a very small commune in the Alps (Ubaye), just a few kilometres from Italy. Backing onto the border with the Italian Piedmont, with which it shares almost 33km of ridges, the Mercantour massif is the last promontory of the Alpine arc to the south, before it plunges abruptly into the Mediterranean Sea. From the summit of Gélas, the highest peak in the Mercantour at 3,143 m, you're just 50 km from the sea as the crow flies!

Partenaire

The commune of Saint Pons, which is very active in mobilising its young people and protecting the mountains, together with the Mercantour National Park, is hosting this first youth work camp in 2024 to restore the La Sanguinière pastoral hut (2200m). It is important to respect the rules of life in the high mountains, so as not to disturb the fauna and flora present.

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting point is at Barcelonnette station in the late afternoon of 26/06. The exact time of the meeting will be communicated with the route map, which will be sent no later than 4 weeks before the start of the project. As the journey from Paris is very long, we will be able to accommodate your travel arrangements.

Commentaires additionnels

SPECIFIC MOTIVATION LETTER NEEDED - related to the fact that the project takes place in the mountain in altitude (2200m). Basically, you need to have the love for the mountains :) and ability - physical and psychological - to live in the moutains with basic conditions.

You'll need to bring your own mattress (ground sheet or inflatable mattress) and winter duvet. Nights in the mountains are cold, so bring warm clothing. For work and life in the mountains, bring good footwear suitable for both activities. Don't forget to bring sun protection (hat, sunglasses, etc.). A headlamp (rechargeable if possible) is also necessary, as well as external batteries for charging lamps and phones. There will be no internet, but there will be a few telephone network points in the mountains (depending on the weather and your geolocation). You can also take along recipes from your country/region, musical instruments and games.

The last day (17/07) is devoted to departure, usually in the morning.

Remarques

This project is supported by the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program for young people between 18 and 30. It is open to all volunteers that fit the ESC criteria. Walk in the footsteps of mediaeval builders by contributing to the reconstruction of a 10th century castle, located on the hills above the mediaeval town of Noyers-sur-Serein, listed among the 100 most beautiful villages of France.

Considered as a stronghold of Burgundy until the 15th century, the castle of Noyers was known for its extremely strong defences, until it was dismantled in 1599, on the command of King Henry IV, in a context still influenced by the Wars of Religion.
Nowadays, the ruins of the castle spread over a wooded area of 8 acres, which makes it possible to imagine the greatness of the buildings of the past.

Your task will be to pursue the reconstruction of the first tower by using traditional masonry techniques. Some of the work will be done on a scaffold. It is important not to be scared of heights. You may also be required to do some stone cutting or clearing work. By doing this, you will be helping to bring back to life a heritage that has been neglected for more than 4 centuries, to the great delight of tourists and history lovers.

Logement et nourriture

The accommodation will be set up below the worksite, in a camp especially created to host summer workcamps volunteers, located on the banks of the Serein, a small river that runs through the village. You will have an individual tent. You will have access to toilets and showers. A kitchen will be available to prepare your meals, while a large tent will allow you to organise collective activities or to shelter in case of bad weather. In collaboration with the animation team, you will participate in the shopping and cooking. Following an eco-friendly approach, you will be invited to use local and seasonal products. By the way, feel free to come with your own recipes, it's a great opportunity to share your history and culture with the group. Wifi will be available in the town or by hotspot with the French volunteers and the animation team.

Situation, loisirs

Noyers-sur-Serein is located two hours from Paris, in the heart of Burgundy, in an outstanding natural area well known for the quality of its vineyards. In addition to its mediaeval architecture, the town has a strong winegrowing and agricultural identity. The "Petite-Etape-aux-Vins" and "Marché-au-Blé" squares in themselves remind us of all this part of the local history. In your free time, you will have the opportunity to talk to the inhabitants and discover all the treasures of the area. Don't hesitate to walk among the streets, small wonders are hidden everywhere. The “Musée des Arts Naïfs et Populaires”, renowned for its vast collection of eclectic pieces of art, is also waiting for you.

Partenaire

L’Association du Patrimoine Oublié was created in 1998 on the initiative of several inhabitants of Noyers. They were motivated by a common desire to restore the old castle to its former glory. For twenty years, volunteers from all over the world come to help them during workcamps or cultural activities, such as the Gargouillosium, which brings together twenty sculptors each year to make some stone gargoyles.

The site is a must for those who visit the mediaeval town of Noyers-sur-Serein. With its typical squares, half-timbered houses, historic facades and carved stone pinnacles, this village of character attracts tourists from all over the world. Some artists and craftspeople have settled here after being seduced by the old stones. The Vercors Regional Nature Park stretches across a vast mid-mountain massif between Isère and Drôme. Come and discover it, and the village of Autrans-Méaudre en Vercors. Its landscapes will take you on a journey. The project will involve restoring a shelter known as "La Bergerie", located on the edge of a footpath and a mountain bike trail. The exact history of this site deserves to be known, as it would appear that in the past this vast area was grazed by sheep. Meadows replaced the present-day forest and there was indeed a sheepfold here, but we're investigating with local residents to find out more.Your job will be to clear the undergrowth around the shelter and consolidate it by working on the masonry. No previous knowledge is necessary. A good dose of motivation and the desire to work as part of a team will enable you to complete this project.

Logement et nourriture

You will be accommodated in a chalet equipped with beds: remember to bring sleeping bags. The site is a 20-minute drive from the accommodation. You will then have to walk for 10 minutes on an accessible path, but with some gradients. The group will be supervised at all times by a team in charge of group life and technical aspects, in liaison with our local partners, in particular the eco-guards from the PNR Vercors. Together, you will help to organise group life (housework, activities, etc.) and take turns preparing meals using locally sourced produce. We will use local produce and short distribution channels as much as possible, and will ensure that all participants' diets are respected.

Situation, loisirs

Autrans-Méaudre en Vercors is a destination renowned for the quality of its environment, the extraordinary wealth of its flora and fauna and the wide range of activities on offer. It is located in the Vercors Regional Nature Park, 15 km from Villard-de-Lans (the main town in the North Vercors Massif) and around 40 km from Grenoble. One of the main activities for enjoying the beauty of the landscape is hiking. A Park eco-guard will be on hand to guide you during your free time. Depending on the programme agreed with the entertainment team, you can take advantage of the nearby swimming pool and outdoor activities such as mountain biking, caving, zip-lining, orienteering, beach volleyball, etc.

Partenaire

The PNR Vercors has been a partner of Concordia for many years. Each year, this long-standing relationship enables Concordia to introduce the volunteers who join us to a part of the Vercors, a natural territory offering a variety of landscapes marked by history and rich in cultural identity. For the Regional Nature Park, the workcamps are a fantastic opportunity to involve volunteers in its work to preserve natural areas in collaboration with the local communities. In 2024, he will be working with the village of Autrans-Méaudre en Vercors, which is very interested in proposing an intercultural and intergenerational project: young people from the village will come and help on the site for one or two days. In 2025, the elders of the local association Cabane 44 will be in charge of building the roof of the shelter after the volunteer workcamp. They will also visit the site to meet you and create links. The park's main missions are to preserve and enhance the natural environment, and to support the sustainable development of its territory in the fields of agriculture, tourism, culture, energy, mobility, town planning, etc.

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

Meet at the Meaudre Place bus station in the late afternoon. The bus station is accessible by bus from Grenoble SNCF station. A suggested itinerary will be presented in a detailed info sheet. Train reservations can be made approximately 4 months before departure on the SNCF website, link below:

Remember to take closed clothes and shoes for the work, which are resistant to dirt. You'll be sleeping in individual beds: remember to take a sleeping bag as well as a fitted sheet and pillowcase. You should also bring waterproof clothing for your walks. Nights can be chilly at altitude, so pack some warm clothes. Don't forget sun protection (hats, glasses, cream, etc.), a water bottle and your swimming costume for swimming (pools, water sports centres, etc.). If you'd like to share a little of your culture (recipes, traditional stories, unusual objects, etc.), don't hesitate to pack a little piece of your country or region in your backpack and a small Bluetooth speaker to share your favourite playlist!

On the last day (12/07), the departure time is usually set in the morning.

Remarques

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for them personally, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

Are you a nature and biodiversity lover? This workcamp is made for you!
This workcamp is the result of a partnership between the Concordia and Echologia associations, located in Louverne. Echologia is a real oasis of nature and promotes strong ecological values. With more than 70 hectares of land, it has an exceptional eco-tourist site at the gates of Laval, the capital of the Mayenne region (in western France).
For this first year of partnership, you will be based at the foot of an old lime furnace. You will continue the construction of a part of the low walls: staking of the mortar, repointing with lime mortar (masonry technique used for old buildings). These walls will become a filtering waterfall for aquaponics. In a few words, aquaponics is the fusion of 2 techniques, aquaculture and hydroponics, which allows plants and aquatic animals to live together in perfect harmony in a closed system. This system works as a virtuous circle, ecological and healthy to produce vegetables, flowers and fruits. You will learn more on site!

Logement et nourriture

You will sleep in individual tents (bring your own sleeping bag and sleeping mat), and will be directly connected with nature. The kitchen and the living space will be set up in a room near the camp. The dry toilets and showers are close to the camp. Volunteers will be able to share their internet connection or use the wifi available at certain locations on the worksite. Laundry will be done by hand. You will share the different collective tasks and prepare the meals together. A budget will be allocated to the leaders, you will participate in the shopping and the preparation of meals, by privileging healthy and local products, and you can exchange your recipes if you wish. You will also be able to eat organic and seasonal fruits and vegetables, produced directly by Echologia and their aquaponics system.

Please note that this site receives weddings on weekends. Therefore, some parts of the site will be privatised for these events. You will not have access to the showers on Saturday to Sunday’s morning. However, water points are still available. Apart from that, the park is very vast so you will not be disturbed by the noise.

Situation, loisirs

Echologia is located in Louverne, a small village of about 5,000 inhabitants at the gates of Laval, in Mayenne (1h30 from Paris by train and 10min from Laval by car).
This site is an opportunity to take full advantage of the exceptional setting in the heart of nature. You will have access to educational workshops involving the thematics of water, animals, the environment, but also aquaponics, Echologia's main activity!
You will have access to different activities on site: swimming, archery, hiking, etc. Moreover, the site is located a few kilometres away from a leisure centre, accessible on foot, where you can swim!
Please note that the swimming pool and archery will not be accessible on weekends during weddings.
More information on the site: https://echologia.com/

Partenaire

Echologia is built on the site of former lime quarries, closed in 1963. Abandoned for 50 years, nature took over and transformed it into an exceptional site full of unexpected treasures.
This site is now entirely rehabilitated thanks to the work of a team of enthusiasts. Based on a co-construction approach, each tourist who passes by can contribute to the building by participating, at his or her own level, to the expansion of the site. For many years, Echologia has been organising workshops or mini-building sites with different schools or social structures. Thanks to this partnership between Echologia and Concordia, it is the first time that the site will welcome a group of international youth for a workcamp.

Echologia's approach is proactive and cohesive with their strong ecological values. The development of the site is respectful of the environment and heritage in the principle of sustainable development. It is also the first aquaponics training centre in France.

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting point is fixed at the end of the afternoon at the Louverné (53) train station on the 3rd of July. The exact time of the meeting will be communicated with the infosheet, sent at the latest 4 weeks before the beginning of the work. On the last day (17/07), the departure time is usually set in the morning.
Several trains with connections leave from Paris Montparnasse to the station of Louverné. Please consider using low-carbon transportation (train or bus, rather than aeroplane) for a sustainable international workcamp.
Train reservations are possible about 4 months before departure on the SNCF website, link below: https://www.sncf-connect.com/.
If you are coming first by plane, remember that you will need some time to commute from the airport to the train station, therefore we recommend that you arrive early enough for you not to rush and have a stress free travel.

This year, Concordia is teaming up with France Bénévolat and l'Arche de la Nature to create an international work camp in Le Mans.
Located ten minutes from the town centre of Le Mans, the Arche de la Nature estate offers to visitors a vast natural area showcasing the main landscapes of the Sarthe region.
Along the paths, visitors can admire the river, the forest and the grove, and can visit the “Maison de l'Eau”, the “Maison de la Forêt” and the “Maison de la Prairie”. Sports fields and children's playgrounds will satisfy young and old alike. In all, 500 hectares of nature are permanently open to the public, including La Mare aux Poissons Rouges.
La Mare aux Poissons Rouges is an artificial pond that hosted a religious procession from the early 20th century until the Second World War.
The procession group came from the church in Yvré-l'Évêque and passed through the Château de l'Arche estate.
Today, the pond has been cleaned up and is the home to a number of protected amphibians, including the marbled newt.
The aim of this project is to protect the pond by building a dry-stone wall.
You'll be accompanied by a team of expert guides throughout the project to help you learn these techniques step by step!

Logement et nourriture

You'll be staying at the Yvré Leveques municipal campsite, just a few kilometres from the site and Le Mans, in individual tents (bring your own sleeping bag or warm duvet, and a mat or mattress). The kitchen and living area, as well as showers and toilets, will be close by. You'll be able to take advantage of the campsite's various facilities, including the swimming pool (remember to bring your bathing suit!). Travel between the living area and the work site will be by bike (distance of around 5 kilometres, between 15 and 20 minutes), so you'll need to know how to ride a bike.
Volunteers can share their internet connection (no WIFI) and laundry will be done by hand. You'll share the various collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the animation team, and you'll help with shopping and meal preparation. You can exchange recipes if you wish.

Situation, loisirs

Le Mans is located in the West of France. It is the administrative centre of the Sarthe County, in the Pays de La Loire region (50 min from Paris, and 1h30 from Nantes by train). You will have time to discover the city. Le Mans is a beautiful artistic and historical city, it is the third one of the Pays de la Loire region when it comes to culture and tourism. The old city centre is surrounded by Roman walls and the most recent renovation works organised to preserve the oldest parts of Le Mans have helped to enhance its local heritage. Two rivers cross the city which has been named one of France's greenest cities. You can find various parks and gardens, in addition to the two big forests bordering the city. Every year, more than 500,000 visitors enjoy this park, which is permanently open to the public free of charge. L'Arche is the green lung of the Le Mans urban area. Various events (festivals, courses and outings) have been organised since 1997.

Come discover all the beauty of the region Savoy in the middle of the French Alpes by participating in this new workcamp that works together with the community of La Motte-Servolex ! Over the years, the workcamp in La Motte-Servolex took part in the culture of this charming town located just a few kilometres away from Chambéry, the capital of Savoy. You will be welcomed with lots of generosity and friendliness by the inhabitants of the town. During the workcamp, you will be able to take part in various actions coordinated by the technical services and the environmental service. You will be working on the construction of a footbridge and the installation of a pathway on stilts to make a wetland pathway accessible. Other initiatives to improve the quality of life for residents will be proposed by the Town Hall's departments.

Logement et nourriture

You will be accommodated in individual tents in front of the Halle des Sports Didier Parpillon, at the Raoul Villot Stadium, close to the city centre. The kitchen, the toilets, the showers and the group living area are in the sports hall, which is also a shelter in case of bad weather. Together, you will participate in the organisation of collective life (housekeeping, activities, etc.) and in the preparation of meals, in turn, using the products that will be purchased nearby. We will encourage, as far as possible, a vegetarian diet with local and seasonal products, while ensuring that the diets of all participants are respected and that the local gastronomy is discovered. Wifi access is possible near the public buildings which are less than 5 minutes away from the place of living. Evolving in an urban area, you will have the possibility to wash your laundry in an automatic washing machine.

Situation, loisirs

La Motte-Servolex (12000 inhabitants) is a community located in the region of Savoy, Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes. It is attached to the agglomeration of Chambéry from which it is less than 10 km away. Thanks to the motorway network, Lyon and Geneva are respectively 1h20 and 1h from La Motte-Servolex.
The city is surrounded by the mountains of the Alpine massif and is located close to the Lake du Bourget which has many beaches on its shores, leisure facilities and many tourist attractions. You will have access to many outdoor activities (hiking, open-air cinema, swimming at the Lake du Bourget, cycling) in an urban and mountain setting. A few kilometres from the city centre, you can easily access nature by train or bus, where you can enjoy beautiful walks!

Partenaire

The La Motte-Servolex community celebrated in 2022 their 20 years partnership with Concordia. Like every year, the project is organised with different services (animations, environment and sustainable development technologies) that will ensure you to be welcomed in good conditions. The city, attached to the agglomeration of Chambéry, is young, dynamic and sporty. The stakes of sustainable development are fully integrated into the policy of the city which is very active in this area (sorting waste, banning plant pesticides, vegetable containers on public property…). It has recently received two new labels: "Territory committed to nature" and "Best small town for biodiversity 2021" around the theme of water and biodiversity.

The projects carried out within the framework of the international projects make it possible to participate in the preservation of the heritage and enhance the surrounding environment. Openness to the world is a desire of the city to promote intercultural exchanges with the inhabitants, especially the youngest ones. If you are between 18 and 30 years old, live in the commune or its surroundings and want to take part in this project, contact the regional representative of Concordia in Rhone Alpes (chantiers.rhone-alpes@concordia.fr).

Located 15 km from Bordeaux at Fargues-Saint-Hilaire, Domaine de la Frayse is at the gateway to the Entre-Deux-Mers region. This region known for its vineyards is located between the Garonne and the Dordogne rivers. Marmande and Langon are to the south, Bordeaux to the west, Libourne to the north and Bergerac to the east. The Entre-Deux-Mers is a region rich in fortified towns and Romanesque churches; you will be charmed by ancient cities, mills and other castles.

Concordia has been in partnership for several years with the UFCV (French Union of Holiday Center) association. The UFCV manages a leisure and holiday centre at the Frayse Domain: the former vineyard has a magnificent 24 hectare park with various sports areas, an educational farm and a vegetable garden gathering people from all ages.

For several years now, the Frayse Domain has been hosting one of the most singular youth festival in New Aquitaine: The Frayse'Toch #educpop is an eco-citizen and solidarity festival, on which Concordia volunteers will once again fully be a part of the festival's preparation, animation and closing team.

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting point will be at Bordeaux - Saint-Jean train station, exit #3 named “Belcier”, on the 10th of July in the late afternoon. The exact time of the meeting will be communicated with the infosheet, which will be sent 4 weeks before the beginning of the workcamp.

Regular trains leave from Paris - Montparnasse train station to Bordeaux - Saint-Jean, usually there is one train per hour. The journey lasts from 2 to 3 hours.
If possible, please consider using low-carbon emissions transportation (train and bus rather than aeroplane) for a sustainable international workcamp.
The trains are open to booking about 4 months before the departure dates, accessible on the following website: https://www.sncf-connect.com/en-en/

If you are coming first by plane to Paris, remember that you will need some time to commute from the airport to the train station, therefore we recommend that you arrive early enough for you not to rush and have a stress free travel.
