Come experience an exhilarating adventure by participating in a renovation project in the heart of Brittany! The village of Hémonstoir welcomes you for its first international project and needs you to showcase its Saint-Arnoult fountain! You will work on the reassembly of this building, which was previously dismantled to make way for the construction of a library. This will be an opportunity for you to learn traditional masonry techniques, but also to make unforgettable encounters with young people from all over the world and kind-hearted locals who will welcome you with open arms !

Logement et nourriture

You will be accommodated in tents (provided by Concordia) at the municipal stadium, which is a 5-minute walk from the worksite! Group life will be organized nearby in a room provided for the group. There, you will share the various group tasks and activities. Together, you will participate in organizing group life (cleaning, activities, etc.) and take turns preparing meals using products you will purchase locally. The activity leaders will have a budget to cover these expenses, but you will be responsible for preparing the menus and doing your own shopping. A vegetarian diet using local and seasonal products will be preferred, while respecting the participants' dietary requirements and allowing you to discover local cuisine.

Situation, loisirs

Hemonstoir is a small corner of Brittany near the town of Loudéac, in the Côtes d'Armor department. The nearby Guerlédan Lake offers wonderful opportunities for discovery and kayaking.
A quote from novelist Paul Féval about this region: "I'm going to tell you perhaps the last story of the land of large stones and twisted oaks, which breathes the salt of the sea while eating buckwheat and drinking apples." From his book, Voyage de découvertes dans les Côtes-du-Nord.

Partenaire

The town's elected officials are very committed to youth and culture. They are delighted to welcome a group of international youth to bring their community to life for this first project with Concordia. The municipality's goal is for the group to have extensive contact with local youth as well as residents! Get ready for some wonderful encounters!

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting point is at the LOUDEAC BUS STATION on July 9th in the late afternoon.

The exact meeting time will be communicated with the route sheet, which will be sent at least four weeks before the start of the work.

Several trains depart from Paris Montparnasse station to Rennes. The journey takes approximately two hours. You will then need to take a TER BreizhGo bus, which will take you to your destination, Loudéac.

Train reservations are available approximately four months before departure on the SNCF website, via the link below: https://www.sncf-connect.com/

You can find the Breizh Go bus schedule to Loudéac here: https://www.breizhgo.bzh/se-deplacer-en-bretagne/se-deplacer-en-car/interdepartementales

This first journey is the first step of the adventure, so make sure you enjoy it!

Commentaires additionnels

Regardless of the season in Brittany, you should bring at least one warm outfit (pants, sweater, socks, closed-toe shoes, rain gear) and one light outfit (skirt or shorts, t-shirt, open-toe shoes). Here, it's said that all four seasons can be experienced in one day! Also, remember to bring gloves, work clothes and shoes, and a swimsuit for swimming. Nights can be chilly, so bring a good, warm sleeping bag and an insulated sleeping mat.

You can also bring recipes from your country/region, musical instruments, and games. Don't hesitate to share your culture as much as possible with the other members of the group!

The last day is dedicated to departure, usually in the morning.

Remarques

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

Help preserve the heritage of Châteaudouble, a small medieval Provencal village typical of southern France. For lovers of nature, hilltop villages and heritage!
The village hosts a number of cultural events at its open-air Théâtre de Verdure, on an esplanade overlooking the village and its listed monuments, with a magnificent unobstructed view.
As the site is vast, a number of restoration projects are planned, with the main aim of building the dry-stone wall adjoining the Châteaudouble open-air theater, and the secondary aim of constructing the steps to demarcate the passageway.

Logement et nourriture

You'll be housed in tents (provided by CONCORDIA) on the Plateau de Sainte-Anne, adjacent to the Théâtre de Verdure, with access to the former Sainte-Anne chapel, now a multi-purpose hall with toilets and an indoor kitchen and dining area. As we don't have a bathroom on site, we'll be installing solar-powered showers. Laundry will be done by hand.
You'll share the various collective tasks and prepare meals together, either in the outdoor summer kitchen or under the small covered facility. A budget will be allocated to the organizers, and you'll help with grocery-shopping and meal preparation, giving priority to healthy, vegetarian, local products.

Situation, loisirs

Overlooking the Nartuby gorges in the Haut Var, Châteaudouble has preserved its authentic medieval appearance. The village invites you to explore its narrow streets, wander between the houses and climb up to the castle ruins on the Sainte Anne plateau.
Châteaudouble offers a wide range of leisure activities, including visits and walks, swimming in the rivers and gorges, kayaking in the gorges or at sea, hiking, local sports such as pétanque, and participation in the various village festivities.
As the commune is isolated with little public transport, the vast majority of activities will take place on site. Outings to the gorges and/or the sea can also be organized.

Partenaire

Châteaudouble is a medieval village with a rich heritage of sumptuous monuments, some of which are listed. Very dynamic and committed to promoting its historical and natural heritage, the commune is also developing several projects in the village. For the seventh consecutive year, we are renewing our partnership with the commune of Châteaudouble.
Our work and your commitment will enable us to restore and enhance this magnificent site for the benefit of local residents and tourists alike!

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting point is the Gare des ARCS DRAGUIGNAN on 09/07 at 5pm. From the Gare de Lyon in Paris, there are several direct or connecting trains to Les ARCS DRAGUIGNAN station. The journey takes around 5 hours.
An “on-demand” rural bus service operates in the area, linking Draguignan and Châteaudouble; the organizers will be in touch with you in the days leading up to the site, with specific instructions on how to get to the site.
Train reservations can be made around 4 months before departure on the SNCF website, link below:
https://www.sncf-connect.com
Whenever possible, use low-carbon means of transport (train or bus, rather than plane) for a responsible and sustainable international worksite.

Commentaires additionnels

Remember to pack clothes and shoes for work and hiking. Nights can be chilly, so bring a warm comforter and a sleeping mat. Don't forget to bring a hat or cap, sunglasses, sunscreen, a small backpack, a water bottle and mosquito repellent, as well as loose-fitting clothing for the evenings.
You can also bring recipes from your country/region, musical instruments and games.
As the village is far from the meeting point (Gare les Arcs Draguignan) and has no public transport, it's imperative to be at the meeting point on time!
The last day is for departure, usually in the morning.

Remarques

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

Come take part in the project to protect the Auga peat bog and other sites around !

At the foot of the Pyrenees mountains, this natural area is a unique mosaic of ecosystems! You'll be able to discover the local fauna and flora and carry out a number of tasks to help preserve this environment: thermal brush-cutting, small-scale logging, removal of certain invasive exotic plant species, construction of pontoons to cross streams, creation of wooden signs to raise awareness.

A worksite right in the heart of nature!

Logement et nourriture

You will be accommodated in individual tents, with sanitary facilities, kitchen and communal living area. You'll have the chance to sleep on the peat bog site, right in the middle of nature. An old barn on the site has been refurbished and now contains modern facilities, with a kitchen, toilets and a large enclosed room for meals and activities during the stay. The showers are in LOUVIE-JUZON, a 5-minute drive away, and we'll be going there at least once a day.

You will share the various collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the leaders, and you will help with the shopping and meal preparation, giving priority to healthy, local produce. Once a week, we'll go to the nearest village market, in LOUVIE-JUZON
WIFI available, laundry done by hand.

Together, you'll help to organise community life (housework, activities, etc.) and take it in turns to prepare meals using locally sourced produce. Our aim is to encourage vegetarian eating using local, seasonal produce, while respecting participants' diets and discovering local cuisine together.

Situation, loisirs

The commune of LOUVIE-JUZON is located at the gateway to the Ossau valley, just a stone's throw from the Pyrenees mountain range. Between the mountains and the sheep and cow pastures, this site, right in the middle of nature, will be an opportunity to discover the small mountain villages around, their inhabitants, the gastronomic specialities and the nearby hiking trails! Get your boots ready! On the site of the peat bog itself, small footpaths allow you to wander through this magnificent natural area and observe the birds, dragonflies and endemic flowers.

Partenaire

The peat bog is a wetland classified as a sensitive natural area. Around ten years ago, the commune of LOUVIE-JUZON undertook the restoration and enhancement of this former pastoral site. It is now managed by the Pyrenees-Atlantiques department. Numerous awareness-raising missions are carried out on site throughout the year for schoolchildren and local residents.

The Auga peat bog is home to some remarkable plant and animal species. The workcamp will not only be an opportunity to help preserve this unique site, but also to discover all its secrets thanks to the many specialists who will be on hand to show you around.

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting point is at PAU SNCF station on July 16th in the late afternoon.

The exact meeting time will be communicated with the route map, sent out no later than 4 weeks before the start of the project.

There are several direct trains from PARIS Gare Montparnasse to PAU. The journey takes approximately 4 hours 30 minutes.

Train reservations can be made approximately 4 months before departure on the SNCF website, link below: https://www.sncf-connect.com/

If possible, please consider using low-carbon transportation (train and bus rather than airplane) for a sustainable international workcamp.

Commentaires additionnels

Warning : This is a 100% feminine workcamp !

Don't forget to bring work clothes and shoes that won't get dirty.
In the mountains, despite the sunshine, the weather is surprising and can change rapidly.
For leisure activities, you'll need to pack clothes suited to the climate (warm fleece or jumper, shorts and hiking trousers, windbreaker, down jacket, warm socks, etc.). For hiking, high-top, notched shoes are recommended. Don't forget sun protection (a hat or cap is essential, sunglasses with a high protection factor because of the intense reflection, sun cream with a high protection factor IP 30-50, etc.) and a swimming costume for swimming or white-water activities.
For accommodation, remember to bring a warm sleeping bag and a towel. You should also bring a rucksack (in addition to your luggage), comfortable trainers and a pair of flip-flops. You'll also need to pack these essential accessories: a mobile phone charger, hiking poles (not compulsory, but recommended), a water bottle, a set of bandages and a headlamp or torch.
Social events will be organised in collaboration with our leaders and according to your wishes. In particular, we'll be organising themed evenings in each country. If you'd like to share a little of your culture (recipes, traditional stories, unusual objects, music, etc.), don't hesitate to take it with you.

Remarques

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. Immerse yourself in history by taking part in a unique archaeological research project at the citadel of Doullens! Your mission will be to clear a mound of earth blocking access to an unexplored underground passage. Using careful excavation techniques, you will dig and sift through each layer of soil, searching for historical artifacts and hidden remnants of the past. This workcamp is a true archaeological adventure, offering the chance to uncover long-buried secrets of this remarkable site.
Come and visit this area where JRR Tolkien lived and got inspired to create his worldly known universe of Lord of the Rings.

Logement et nourriture

You will be accommodated in individual tents within one of the citadel’s gardens, a unique and historic setting. A former jail will serve as a communal living space, providing a dining area and a sheltered retreat in case of bad weather. Sanitary facilities will be available in an annex building, while showers will be accessible at the town’s gym, a 15-minute walk from the campsite.

Collective living will be at the heart of this experience: you will share daily tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be managed by the animation team for grocery shopping, and you will be encouraged to use fresh, local, and seasonal products for healthy, mainly vegetarian and delicious meals.

Situation, loisirs

Doullens is located in the northern part of the Somme, at the crossroads between Amiens, Arras, and Abbeville. This strategic position places it within easy reach of historical and cultural landmarks, including the stunning Gothic cathedral of Amiens, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the vibrant city of Arras, known for its beautiful squares and underground tunnels.

Surrounded by picturesque countryside, Doullens offers a peaceful setting perfect for outdoor activities such as hiking and exploring the region’s rich history. Volunteers will have the opportunity to visit nearby sites like the Baie de Somme, one of France’s most breathtaking natural reserves, Samara archeological parc or explore the remnants of World War I battlefields. During the summer, local events, markets, and cultural festivities will add to the experience. With the support of the team, outings and activities will be organized to fully enjoy the region’s heritage, nature, and warm community atmosphere.

Partenaire

The EPCC of the Somme are long-standing partners of Concordia. After a first collaboration in 2019 on the archaeological site of Samara, the EPCC of the Somme has decided to renew our partnership for an exciting new project: the exploration and enhancement of the underground tunnels of the Doullens citadel. This initiative reflects a shared commitment to preserving and showcasing historical heritage while engaging young international volunteers in a mission of discovery and cultural transmission.

The city of Doullens and the EPCC are fully dedicated to welcoming volunteers and will ensure a friendly and enriching experience. Many interactions with locals and community members are planned, providing a deep immersion into the region’s culture and history. This work camp is a unique opportunity to actively contribute to the preservation of an iconic site while sharing meaningful moments with the local community.

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting is planned at the Saint Martin Place in Doullens, 18th July at the end of the day. The exact time of the meeting will be communicated with the info sheet, sent at least 4 weeks before the beginning of the workcamp.

From PARIS, regular trains (around 1 per hour) leave from the Gare du Nord train station for Amiens train station (1hour trip).
From Amiens, a bus is available every hours in direction of Doullens

The trains are open to booking about 4 months before the departure dates, accessible on the following website: https://www.sncf-connect.com/en-en/

If you are coming first by plane, remember that you will need some time to commute from the airport to the train station, therefore we recommend that you arrive early enough for you not to rush and have a stress-free travel.

Commentaires additionnels

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues arise on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

Remarques

Please bring good shoes, working clothes and a swimsuit. As nights can be quite cold,
remember also to bring warm clothes, a sleeping bag and a matress for more comfort. You can also bring traditional recipes from your home country/region, an instrument of music and games.

Travail

Matour, a dynamic village in Saône-et-Loire, welcomes you to an international volunteer work camp. Together, we will restore two of the seven washhouses in the commune, treasures of its heritage.
Led by the Concordia association and the municipality, this project aims to preserve local history while fostering intercultural exchanges. Residents and volunteers from around the world will work together to bring these emblematic sites back to life.

The work will focus on renovating the roofs, with possible interventions on the framework. Conducted on scaffolding, the project will be supervised by an experienced technical leader, ensuring safety and adherence to traditional construction methods. Work will take place in the mornings, for 5 to 6 hours per day, to avoid the heat.

But a work camp is also a human adventure ! Afternoons will be dedicated to activities, relaxation, or group-chosen events. Weekends will be an opportunity to explore the region and its rich heritage.
By joining this project, you will help preserve cultural heritage while living an unforgettable collective and intercultural experience. Come and restore Matour’s washhouses and leave your mark on the history of this welcoming village!

Logement et nourriture

You will be accommodated in individual tents at the municipal stadium in Matour. The tents will be provided by Concordia, but you should bring a sleeping pad or mattress and a sleeping bag rated for 10°C comfort to ensure a pleasant night's sleep. The stadium facilities, including showers, toilets, and changing rooms, will be available to you.

A small enclosed and covered space will serve as a communal area for meal preparation, dining, and organizing activities if needed.

You will take part in organizing collective life (cleaning, activities, etc.) and preparing meals on a rotating basis, using locally sourced ingredients. Whenever possible, we will prioritize a vegetarian diet with seasonal local products, while respecting all dietary needs and promoting the discovery of local cuisine.

There is no Wi-Fi connection or laundry service on-site. We recommend making arrangements beforehand. However, it will be possible to do small hand washes if necessary.

Situation, loisirs

Located in the heart of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, in the Saône-et-Loire department, Matour welcomes you to an authentic rural setting where traditions and modernity blend harmoniously. This dynamic village, proud of its rich heritage, will charm you with its picturesque streets, manor, and Maison des Patrimoines, which the municipality will be delighted to show you.

About 20 km away, you can also discover Cluny, a historical and cultural landmark, along with other charming sites perfect for walks and exploration.

The facilitators will organize tailored activities in close collaboration with the group, allowing you to take an active role in your stay and fully enjoy the cultural and heritage riches of the area.

Partenaire

This year marks the beginning of a meaningful partnership between the commune of Matour and the Concordia association. Matour, deeply attached to its heritage, is a dynamic village that promotes its history through various local initiatives, notably with the association "Les Amis du Manoir", dedicated to heritage preservation and maintaining hiking trails.

By partnering with Concordia, which works for solidarity, mutual learning, and intercultural exchange, the municipality is welcoming a project that goes beyond the simple material restoration of the washhouses. You will take part in a human and collective adventure, fostering exchange between volunteers from around the world and local residents.
This international work camp fully aligns with the values of both partners: civic engagement, knowledge transmission, and environmental respect. It allows everyone to engage in a local project with a lasting impact while developing valuable technical and social skills.
You will be at the heart of a project where heritage, culture, and commitment come together, strengthening the connection between Matour and the world!

The municipality wish, by hosting this workcamp, to energize the town, to set up a European and intercultural project for the inhabitants and to enhance the local heritage.

You will stay in the school of the village, 15 minutes walk from the workcamp. You will have access to some bikes. You will share the different collective tasks and prepare meals together. Get involved in the conservation of medieval heritage in the small town of Allegre, a small historical village in the middle of Auvergne region. This year, we will celebrate the 15th anniversary of Allegre’s workcamps.

You will participate in the development of the Medieval Garden, which started a few years ago and is pursued by volunteers every summer. The purpose of this year's workcamp is to build an elevated walkway to connect the track to the new entrance, and to install wooden barriers as a guardrail to prevent people walking on the pathway to fall out.

The garden is ideally situated at the foot of the village ramparts, high up, with a beautiful viewpoint! It is made up of several areas: a vegetable garden, an orchard and a small patch for medicinal and magical herbs called "carré des simples".

Logement et nourriture

You will be accompanied by two camp leaders throughout your stay.
Your accommodation will be located at the municipal stadium, near the campsite, which is a 20 minute walk from the village. You will sleep in an individual tent (provided by Concordia) set up in the grass, near the facilities. You will have a kitchen in a room inside the stadium and a large collective tent for socializing.
The group will be sharing the different tasks of collective life together. The budget will be allocated to the group leaders and you will participate in the preparation of meals, run errands from the market and local producers. Wi-Fi available in the campsite and in the village. Laundry will be hand-washed.

Situation, loisirs

Allegre (around 1000 inhabitants) is a small town located in the Haute-Loire County in the Auvergne region, 30 km from Le-Puy-en-Velay city, in the Natural Regional Park of Livradois-Forez. Its alleyways are picturesque with red roofed houses, built on the slopes of an extinct volcano, the "Mont Bar". From the preserved ruins of the Castle at the top end of the village you can overlook hundreds of kilometres of countryside!
You will have the chance to go swimming in lakes, attend local celebrations and take part in outdoor leisure activities.

Partenaire

Allegre has a very rich historical heritage. It is located at an altitude of 1,000 meters, where the remains of a classified castle overlook the village.
Local celebrations, meals with the inhabitants and the discovery of the region will be on your schedule.

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting point is at the train station of DARSAC at the end of the afternoon.
The exact time of the meeting will be communicated with the Info Sheet, sent one month before the beginning of the workcamp.
It is a small station served by three trains a day. Trains for Darsac are coming from Clermont-Ferrand, Lyon or Puy-en-Velay.
From Paris, several trains leave to Clermont-Ferrand.

Commentaires additionnels

Bring work clothes, walking boots, a backpack and a swimming suit. Nights can be chilly, so bring warm clothes and a good sleeping bag. You can also bring recipes from your home country, musical instruments and games. You will get around Allegre by foot, car and punctually minibus.

Take part in the renovation of the Sauldre canal basin, a natural and historical heritage in the heart of the Sologne, in Lamotte-Beuvron, about two hours away from Paris.

The basin used to be a harbor and a manoeuvring area for barges carrying rock cargoes.
Located in the town centre, the basin and the esplanade around it are in the heart of a development project led by the town council.
In the continuity of a workcamp organised last year, your mission will be to repair the stone riprap that composes the structure of the basin. You will need to remove the weed from the banks and fix the disjointed stones by using traditional masonry techniques.
Some of the work will be performed from a floating platform. Even if the water is low in summer, it is essential to know how to swim to participate in this workcamp.

Logement et nourriture

Your accommodation will be at a 20-minute walk from the worksite. You will have your own tent (provided by Concordia), on the field of the stadium close to the House of Sports, where you will have access to sanitary facilities, showers, as well as a kitchen and a common room. You will share various collective tasks (cleaning, activities, etc.). A budget will be allocated to the leaders, and you will help with shopping and cooking, prioritizing healthy, local products. Feel free to bring your own recipes, it's a great opportunity to share your history and culture with the group. A washing machine and a laundromat will be available (it is still recommended to bring 2 weeks of clothes). WIFI will be available in the town hall or through hotspot.

Situation, loisirs

Only two hours from the south of Paris, surrounded by woods and ponds which embellish the Sologne, the town of Lamotte-Beuvron is known as the home of the largest equestrian centre in Europe. It is appreciated for its gastronomy, especially for the famous apple dessert: the very tasty Tarte Tatin. You will undoubtedly have the opportunity to discover this sweet dessert while visiting the village in your free time. The city of Orléans, the regional capital of the area, is also easily accessible by public transport.

Partenaire

The town of Lamotte-Beuvron has been working for years to rehabilitate the Sauldre canal. This is the fifth time that a workcamp is organised here. Built on the orders of Napoleon III, the canal drains into the Lamotte-Beuvron's basin. Abandoned almost a century ago, the canal has now become a tourist trail, located both on the equestrian route linking Chambord to Sancerre and on the Grande Randonnée trail no. 31, which is very popular amongst nature lovers.

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting point is set at the LAMOTTE-BEUVRON train station. The exact time of the meeting will be communicated with the infosheet, sent 4 weeks before the camp starts. Please consider using low-carbon transportation (train or bus, rather than airplane) for a sustainable international workcamp.

You will be supervised by a technical leader who will teach you various traditional masonry techniques.

Logement et nourriture

You will be accommodated in individual tents (provided by Concordia), and have access to sanitary facilities, a kitchen and a communal living room. If health issues arise on the project, volunteers will have to pay for them, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.
This project is supported by the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program for young people between 18 and 30. It is open to all volunteers that fit the ESC criteria.
The participation to ESC volunteering teams is subjected to several principles and conditions, presented on the ESC webpage: https://europa.eu/youth/solidarity/mission_en - volunteers do not have to pay any fee (neither sending, nor participation fee) to attend the project and will receive financial support for their travel, according to a maximum amount established depending on their travel distance and upon the presentation of original tickets; - volunteers need to enrol in the PASS, the ESC Portal; then Concordia France will organise their matching, on the online system, with the volunteering project;
- volunteers will receive pocket money, calculated on the basis of 8€/day, once they arrive at the project in France;
- volunteers will have to complete a participation report, submitted online through the portal. Rendez-vous :
Before your arrival, the group leader will create a WhatsApp group for all participants. The meeting point is set at Toulouse Matabiau train station on September 3rd at 6:00 PM.
A detailed travel sheet with all practical information (bus schedules, travel tips, etc.) will be sent to you four weeks before the project begins to help you plan your trip smoothly.
Train bookings in France are usually available about four months in advance on the official website: https://www.sncf-connect.com/
The final morning (24/09) is reserved for departures.
