This is a project that takes place on a departmental site where nature lovers enjoy going for a walk to find peace and serenity. Some interpretation trails will allow you to become familiar with the flora and fauna. This place is dedicated to welcoming the public, young and old. It is also dedicated to an agro pastoralism project. Sheep and wild boar will be at your side. You will be offered the opportunity to carry out various landscaping projects to maintain this exceptional site.
You will also be able to put up old dry-stone walls, build picnic tables or clear bushes off the paths to fight against the risk of fire.

Logement et nourriture

The Herault county is undertaking an ambitious and voluntary land policy to protect sensitive natural areas. By acquiring certain plots of land, it enables them to be preserved as part of the compensation measures. This estate welcomes a shepherd and his sheep all year round. It also welcomes discovery classes who wish to learn about ecology and environment and sustainable development education. You will be charmed by the estate and the surrounding nature.
This is the sixth consecutive year of partnership with the county council of the Herault, and the first year on this site.

For twelve years now, every summer, international volunteers have been restoring Pont-du-Chateau stone terraced gardens. The aim of the site is an ecological place for walking, relaxing and discovering the landscape. You too can participate in this project!
Currently, the town council built three belvederes, the largest of which is located on an old stone terrace at the top of the site. It offers a panoramic view of the river, the volcanoes and the mountain of Sancy. The objective of this summer's workcamp is to participate in the embellishment of this belvedere. You will repair the cracks and consolidate the stone walls. You will learn how to apply lime coating to the walls. You will also participate in the restoration of a small dry stone wall. The work will be varied!
You'll spend about 30 hours a week on this site. Working alongside a technical instructor, you will learn traditional building techniques. You will also discover the technique of dry-stone construction. The work will take place in an area rich in natural resources, not far from Allier River.

Come bring some green touch in the city!

This workcamp is organized within the framework of "un ete en Nord" (a golden summer in the North), a project in the northern district of Amiens that has been in place for several years in order to allow the associations of the territory to propose playful activities during the summer for the inhabitants.

In addition to creating a social link with the inhabitants and the young people of the Odyssee youth center, this project aims to green the neighbourhood by building and installing shelters for biodiversity (insect hotels, hedgehog dens, birdhouses, etc.). The group of volunteers will also be able to work on a garden plot managed by the Relais Social in order to build small infrastructures.

Logement et nourriture

Accommodation will be in individual tents at the municipal campground of Amiens, the Parc des Cygnes. A large tent will be set up for communal living with a kitchen area for the preparation of meals. The sanitary facilities of the campsite, with individual non-mixed cabins, (toilets, showers, washbasins) are at the disposal of the participants. You will share the various collective tasks and prepare meals together. Eco-friendly mobility will be part of the program: bicycles will be available and buses will be used to move around the city.

Situation, loisirs

Amiens, 2020 European Youth Capital, is a city of about 130,000 inhabitants, located in the Hauts-de-France region, in the department of Somme. The city is located 1 hour from the Picardie coast but also 1 hour by train from Paris. You can discover the richness of its historical heritage: the largest cathedral in France, the Saint-Leu district, the house of Jules Verne, the floating gardens of the Hortillonnages which earned the city its nickname of "Little Venice of the North"...
The accommodation is located on the banks of the Somme river, near the towpath, which has been converted into a 120 km bicycle route linking Saint-Valery-sur-Somme to Peronne via Amiens. The campsite is in front of a large park which hosts various free sports activities in the summer (canoeing, climbing, archery...).

Partenaire

The Odyssee is a municipal structure that offers artistic and leisure activities to young people and inhabitants of the Amiens Nord district. This is the third workcamp with this partner, many meetings with the inhabitants are to be expected. In addition to the Odyssee, we can count on the presence of the Relais Social, an association that links the inhabitants of the district, of Picardie Nature for scientific and technical contributions, and of Eco-cite, which will be there to support the concrete realisation of the equipments.

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

Since 2021, the delegation Normandie Maine of Concordia is committed into waste reduction through the organisation of Free Zones, one joined action in July, to promote the Circular Economy.
The Circular Economy consists of producing goods and services in a sustainable way by limiting the consumption and waste of resources and the production of waste. The aim is to move from a completely disposable society to a more circular economic model. The Free Zone is a space where objects that are no longer used can be deposited so that they can be given a second life with someone who needs them. This process of reuse would allow the reduction of 13kg of waste per person per year.
The Free Zone will be organised over one day, one morning where the objects are collected and the afternoon where they are picked up.
The project will be run all year by a team of volunteers working in civic service and long-term ESC. In conjunction with this team, you will participate in the logistical organisation of the Free Zone in July, and in the running of workshops on ecological transition.

Logement et nourriture

You will share a basic collective accommodation in 2 flats in the neighbourhood. There will be rooms of 2 or 3 people with mattresses provided by Concordia. The group will share the cleaning tasks and prepare meals together. The budget will be allocated to the group leaders, you will participate in the preparation of meals with good products from the market and local producers. Bring your sleeping-bag with you. The organisation of the accommodation will be adapted to the sanitary situation.

The objectives of the Free Zone project are to encourage a responsible consumption dynamic in the heart of the Sablons district, to raise awareness among the inhabitants by organizing an outdoor event, and to maintain social links in the district through festive activities.

Come and enjoy the warm welcome of the inhabitants of a small town in the heart of Brittany!
The town council of Gouray welcomes you for its first international workcamp where you will help to restore its built heritage, in the centre of the village. An opportunity to experience the local culture and to make unforgettable inter-generational encounters.
Beyond the reconstruction, you will be required to work on the history of the town!
You will restore a washhouse, using traditional masonry techniques. The intervention will focus on the masonry and the restoration of the wash house, based on photos and historical documents of the site. Your goal will be to reconstruct both the history of the building and the stones that constitute it.

Logement et nourriture

You will sleep in two-person tents (please bring your sleeping mat and a warm sleeping bag) near the sports field. The group activities and meals will take place in a room made available to the group. Toilets and showers will be accessible near the campsite. The group will be sharing the cleaning chores and preparing meals together. The budget will be allocated to the camp leaders and you will participate in the shopping and the preparation of meals, prioritising products from the market and local producers.

Situation, loisirs

Gouray (around 1200 inhabitants) is located in the county of “Cotes d’Armor”. There are several hiking trails around the town. You will be able to go on a trip to the sea or to do leisure activities in the town of Loudeac (around 9 000 inhabitants), only 30 km from Gouray. You will also be able to share convivial moments with the inhabitants and the young people of the town.

Commentaires additionnels

You will have to bring warm clothes (trousers, sweater, socks, closed shoes, rain clothes) and light ones (skirts or shorts, t-shirts, open shoes) because the weather can change very suddenly in Brittany. You can literally experience all four seasons in one day! Please also take with you working clothes, gloves and shoes in addition to your swimsuit. Bring a warm sleeping bag and an insulated camping mat as nights are sometimes fresh and wet.
You can bring board games, a musical instrument or anything else from your region/country that you would like to share with the group.

Remarques

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. Commit yourself to the heritage and social inclusion of Saint-Esteve-Janson, a 389 inhabitants’ typical village in Provence. The village is located north of Aix-en-Provence, on the left bank of the Durance River, surrounded by natural swimming spots. You will discover the Provencal landscape with its captivating fragrances, lulled by the song of the cicadas...
You will take part in the renovation of the small chapel of the village, dating back from the 12th century, very loved by the inhabitants of the commune. Volunteers with disabilities living in Saint-Esteve will join your group of international volunteers during the work.
The intervention will consist of repairing the existing cracks and repainting the 6-meter-high interior of the chapel, restoring its furniture and the floor and weeding the exterior façade. Beyond the technical aspect, the main objective will be to include participants with autism in the project, in order to create a social link between the local population and the residents of the medical house. The impact of the project is twofold!

Logement et nourriture

You will be accommodated in tents in the outdoor fields of the Capelieres medical house, 1km walk from the work site. Don't forget your sleeping bag, camping mat and pillow!
The place, surrounded by trees, has access to water, electricity and WIFI. The adjoining room has a kitchen, showers and toilets, as well as an area equipped for indoor games and sports.
The group will be sharing the cleaning chores and preparing meals together. The budget will be allocated to the group leader and you will participate in the grocery shopping and in the preparation of meals, prioritising products from the market and local producers.

Situation, loisirs

The municipality of Saint-Esteve is close to the Luberon Regional Natural Park. It is located in the Durance valley, limited to the south by the Cotes mountain range and to the north by the Durance river. Located between these two natural entities, Saint-Esteve-Janson offers a varied landscape of quality, rich in remarkable fauna and flora.
You can see, near the village, the vestiges of the Castle of Janson which some sections of walls in ruin still raise. The village has a 12th century chapel, as well as a cave classified as a "historical monument" called the Grotte de l'Escale. Discovered in 1960, it proved to be of great paleontological interest, with notably traces of human occupation. It is now explored by scientists and researchers.
Beyond the Provencal hikes, the village's public transportation will take you to Aix-en-Provence, to mythical villages such as La Roque d'Antheron and to swimming spots on the Durance.

Partenaire

Saint-Esteve-Janson is an active municipality and is very involved in the future of its young people. The town wishes to create a social link between the local population and the residents of the medical home (people with autism), through the renovation of the chapel in the village centre. Educators and residents of the medical home are very enthusiastic about the idea of receiving an international work camp in their village!
