You can experience forestry work and relaxation in idyllic surroundings at this workcamp. You will live with 11 other young people from all over the world on the beautiful Noer youth campsite, which is located directly at the Baltic Sea. You will work at the Noer Castle, which is 1 km away, and will make the huge forest around the castle safe for traffic again by removing branches and undergrowth. You will also spend one day a week carrying out other small gardening and manual tasks.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

You will stay in a very simple and sparse utility house on the Noer youth campsite directly on the beautiful Baltic Sea beach.
In the utility house, where the huge campsite kitchen for self-catering is located, you sleep in the small dining room and the former small kitchen on field/air beds and use the large kitchen for cooking, eating and for meetings. You cook together. Money for shopping will be provided. Vegetarian or vegan meals are possible. Please indicate any intolerances when registering. There are also two showers and two toilets in the house.
The campsite has a football pitch, a volleyball court and a table tennis table. You can also lie on the beach or swim in the Baltic Sea, which is still very cold at the time.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

The Society for Youth Facilities (Gesellschaft für Jugendeinrichtungen e.V.) has been running youth guesthouses on the North Sea and Baltic Sea since 1959. Under the brand "Leisure and Education by the Sea" (Freizeit und Bildung am Meer) the non-profit association pursues its educational mission in a very special way - because with the individually tailored programmes, young people and anyone else interested learn about the nature, culture and history of Schleswig-Holstein. The Noer youth campsite is located directly on the Baltic Sea beach and is mainly used by youth groups and for school trips. The Schloss Noer youth guesthouse is mainly used by choirs and orchestras, but also by families and youth groups.

The ijgd has been organising volunteer service programmes since 1949. We are an independent, non-profit association for international youth work, a recognised independent youth welfare organisation, and one of the largest and oldest workcamp organisations in Germany. Each year, we assist around 5,000 young people into volunteer work in Germany and abroad. We give them the opportunity to be creative, act in solidarity, take responsibility for themselves, and discover their own true potential and strengths. Our principles: Ecological learning, voluntary contribution, self-organisation, social development, intercultural learning, gender equality, anti-racism/anti-discrimination and political education.

The Nordloh seminar house is a former, typical North German farmhouse. It is available for school trips, confirmation groups, camps, children's and youth work and other activities. In co-operation with the local citizens' association, the house is now also to become a meeting place for people in the surrounding area. The new ceramics workshop was recently inaugurated. Further activities, such as cookery courses, are to follow.
In the practical part of the work camp, you will create an organic garden to grow herbs and vegetables for the seminar house kitchen. You will also build compost bins for the garden and help build a green roof for the tool shed. The garden and the green roof are intended to ensure more plant diversity and provide a source of food for native and rare insects.
The study part on the topic of "Nature conservation - climate change - sustainability" takes you on (cycling) excursions in the Ammerland and Oldenburger Land region and to the Klimahaus in Bremerhaven, "a unique world of experience on the topics of climate, climate change and weather” (https://www.klimahaus-bremerhaven.de/en/). The excursions in your area will take you into the history of moorland cultivation and renaturalisation in the Oldenburg region. You will be surprised at what there is to discover in the surrounding area.
You will also organise part of the studio part yourselves by discussing how climate change is visible in your home countries and what states, but also each individual, can do to live in a sustainable and socially acceptable way so that the world has a future.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Overnight stay in shared rooms, seminar room with projector and cosy sitting area, conservatory, billiards, table tennis, table football, swimming pool with slide, football pitch, terrace, quiet enclosed courtyard, barbecue area, shared shower and WC. WiFi.
You cook together with your host in the large kitchen of the seminar house. You will be provided with money for shopping. Vegetarian or vegan meals are possible. Please indicate any intolerances when registering.

Lage und Freizeit

The seminar house is in a very rural location, but surrounded by beautiful nature. Bicycles are available for excursions in the surrounding area - the house is located directly on the "Fehn-Route", a popular long-distance cycle route. 3 km away is the seafaring village of Barßel with shopping facilities and a harbour worth seeing. It is 16 km to the climatic health resort of Bad Zwischenahn with the Zwischenahner Meer. There is an outdoor swimming pool in Hengstforde, 6 km away. The towns of Leer, Emden, Oldenburg and Bremen are easy to reach by train. The trip to Bremerhaven to the Klimahaus is part of the study part of the project.

The municipality of Hohe Börde, with 14 different districts, is located in a rural region 15 kilometres from Magdeburg. The work camp is designed to give young people the opportunity to make new international friends, practise their English and enjoy working creatively. Together with 15 young people from the community, you will spend the first week rehearsing the children's play "The Dream Bird", in which a little hedgehog meets a beautiful colourful bird, which he later can't find again and searches for all over the world. This story also introduces younger children to the cultural diversity of the world and the English language in a playful way. Your tasks are acting, making costumes and painting stage sets. The focus is on creativity, fun and socialising with others. In the second week, the play will be performed several times for pre-school children and the public. At the end of the project, a joint international closing party is organised.

You support the youth department of the city of Nürtingen with several projects in different parts of the city. Creativity and manual skills are required. A few more projects are still being planned, so stay tuned!

Construction of a graffiti wall:
For 10 years, there has been a much-used, 23-meter-long wooden wall on which graffiti can be sprayed legally. This is now weathered. You dismantle the old one and erect a new one.

Refurbishment of a construction trailer:
There is a construction trailer at an elementary school in a suburb. This is used for childcare. You sand down the old paint and apply a new one.

Designing a corridor:
In the building of a social institution, you design a hallway under the guidance of an artist.

Designing a lizard mound:
On the grounds of your accommodation, you create a hill that serves as a habitat for lizards and other animals.

From the spacious grounds with an open-air stage, you have a wonderful panoramic view of the Swabian Alb.On the first floor you can use the large, light-flooded dining room. Behind it is a professional kitchen with a catering dishwasher. In the basement is the room where around ten people in your group can sleep on 10 cm thick insulating mats. Please bring your own sleeping bag and pillow. We will set up an outdoor shower for you in a shower tent. Of course with hot water.

You can reach the outdoor pool in eleven minutes, the city center in eight.

There is a direct train connection to the nearby student city of Tübingen with its numerous half-timbered houses. The train takes half an hour to the state capital Stuttgart. Many possibilities await you there: Museums, galleries, shopping, big zoo, planetarium, theater, clubs, vaudeville, etc.

The city of Nürtingen invites you to various activities. Among them is an excursion with minibuses. You will visit a castle on the Swabian Alb and make a cave crossing.

Arbeit

In times of more and more wars, climate change and other disasters, many people find it increasingly difficult to be hopeful and confident. Hope is one of the strongest factors for our well-being. It is based on the belief that the future will be better than the present. And on the fact that we ourselves, together with other people, friends or in social networks, can do something to shape our future. Hope can help to make the world a better place.
Under the guidance of an experienced theatre teacher, you will develop scenes around the theme of "hope" using role play, character work, interaction and improvisation. What gives you hope? What has helped you or others to find a way and change situations? How do you stay hopeful? Does hope need big visions or do you find hope in small everyday moments? Let's find out together. Over the course of the two weeks, your own creative ideas will be turned into a theatre play, which you will perform in front of an audience as the grand finale of the work camp.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Sleeping rooms, kitchen and a common room in the cultural centre. You can use the big garden. There is a big theatre hall with a stage for rehearsals and your performance at the end of the project. You cook together. Money for the food shopping is provided to you. Vegetarian or vegan meals are possible. Please indicate any allergies when registering. Heckenbeck is in a very remote location.

Lage und Freizeit

There will be bicycles available for trips (and for shopping). The town of Bad Gandersheim is 4km away. You can reach Alfeld (with its Faguswerk heritage site), Hildesheim, Hanover and Göttingen by train. We also recommend a trip to the Harz region, with the world heritage site Goslar Rammelsberg (a mining museum) and hiking paths.

ijgd celebrates 75 years of international workcamps and together with the State Forest of Lower Saxony we are celebrating 75 years of cooperation. Of course we will also celebrate with you! For more than 30 years, our work camp groups have been supporting the Lautenthal forestry district in maintenance measures and ecological tasks in the forest areas in the Upper Harz. As large, contiguous forest areas, they are important for climate protection. You will help with nature conservation and environmental protection work and, through your efforts, contribute to preserving habitats for (rare) plants and animals and to restoring the balance in nature. The care of young deciduous trees, the nature-oriented design of waters, the repair of benches, shelters and hiking signs, but also the construction of hunting facilities, are among the tasks of your group.
You will work in changing small groups and get an insight into the ecological, economic and social tasks of a forestry office.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Wanderheim Wildemann, youth hostel with shared rooms, kitchen, outdoor nature trail and campfire area.
You cook together. Money for the food shopping is provided to you. Vegetarian or vegan meals are possible. Please indicate any allergies when registering. Since there is only a small store in Wildemann itself, you have the possibility to have groceries delivered. The forester will gladly take your shopping list. Deliveries are made twice a week.

Lage und Freizeit

the Harz Mountains with its mountains, dripstone caves, mining museums and forests is a popular excursion and recreation area. The forester organizes a hike for the group to the Brocken, the legendary highest mountain in the region. Wildemann itself is a small mountain town with just under 1000 inhabitants. The town has an outdoor swimming pool, a glowgolf course and minigolf. Wildemann is surrounded by a variety of hiking trails and you can visit the former mine, the "19-Lachter-Stollen". On weekends, a trip to Goslar is worthwhile. The historic old town and the visitor mine in Rammelsberg are Unesco World Heritage Sites.

Arbeit

The Märkische Schweiz Nature Park 40 km east of Berlin offers a unique natural and cultural landscape as well as the backdrop for our project in and around the "Drei Eichen" environmental education centre. By cooperating with the nature park administration, we will not only get to know the nature park and its surroundings, but also actively help to shape it.
We are offering this work camp because it is fun to have young people from all over the world with us and because we simply need many hands for some of the work!
People and pets live on the grounds of the Drei Eichen environmental education centre - and there are almost always lots of guests: children, families, seminar groups.
At the moment, we also want to reintroduce wild honey bees, which originally lived in caves in old trees, to our nature park. To do this, we are building hollows in tree trunks. You help us with this.
You will learn about the types of beehives and how the bees are observed and cared for. This ancient art of beekeeping is called Zeidlerei.
For activities in between, Drei Eichen with its grounds offers many opportunities to learn about plants and animals, nature conservation and alternative ways of life and to actively participate.
On some days, you will "give something back" to Drei Eichen by helping out on the farm - because sometimes we need many hands: e.g. for wood protection paint on the playground, repair work, clearing the small pond of plant debris and cleaning up the garden.
At various locations in the Märkische Schweiz Nature Park, we will spend a few days helping to carry out various landscape conservation tasks in different natural areas. The aim is to protect or promote either dry or wet sites, their soil and the native plants that grow there. Historically, these sites were created and maintained through a lot of manual labour - seasonal mowing and grazing by sheep and goats. Today, we help with this. There are many lakes that invite you to take a refreshing dip after work!
All work, whether in landscape conservation, manual labour or creative design, takes place outdoors. We plan together on site, depending on the current weather conditions, on which days we do which work and which days we take off.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

You will stay at the Drei Eichen environmental education centre, located in the middle of the forest, 4km from Buckow (www.dreichen.de). As a group, you will have a flat with kitchen, bathroom, toilet, lounge-kitchen, large balcony and 3 simple multi-bed rooms. We can also provide tents on request. You cook together. Money for shopping will be provided. Vegetarian or vegan meals are possible. Please indicate any intolerances when registering.

Lage und Freizeit

For activities in between, Drei Eichen with its terrain offers many opportunities to learn about plants and animals, nature conservation and alternative ways of life and to actively participate.
There are many great options for spending your free time. Among them are GPS tour(s) in the nature park, guided hikes on biodiversity, a visit to the bat museum, trips to surrounding lakes, going to the movies, visiting the pub "lokal." in Buckow, making a campfire; going to an artificial climbing forest or doing a canoe tour in the area. Those who long for more urban hustle and bustle on the weekend can also take a day trip to Berlin or even go to Poland, which is not that far away.
We plan together on site, depending on the current weather conditions, among other things, on which days we do what work and on which days we take off.

ijgd celebrates 75 years of international work camps and together with the State Forest of Lower Saxony we are celebrating 75 years of cooperation. Our workcamp groups have been actively involved in nature conservation and forest maintenance work in Wolfsburg's city forest for 14 years now! Of course we will be celebrating with you! The city forest is a habitat for many (rare) plant and animal species and a recreational area for people who jog, bike, hike or simply enjoy nature there. Due to climate change, many plants and animals are now endangered and the task of the forestry team is to protect the forest and preserve the flora and fauna for the future. You will support the forest rangers in a variety of activities in the areas of nature conservation, forest maintenance and the preservation of recreational areas for forest visitors. These tasks include the removal of non-native plants, the care of young trees and the clearing of watercourses and forest paths. You will also gain an insight into the diverse tasks of a forest ranger's office and the forest ecosystem.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

The group will be staying in the youth rooms in the parish hall of the Stephanus Church. There are two large rooms available for you as sleeping space, a large common room and a kitchen. You will be sleeping on camping beds. The parish hall is located by the marketplace with several supermarkets and shops.
You cook together. Money for the food shopping is provided to you. Vegetarian or vegan meals are possible. Please indicate any allergies when registering.

Lage und Freizeit

Wolfsburg's internationally renowned sights include the castle and the art museum, as well as the "Phaeno" science museum. The mayor of the Wolfsburg city centre district arranges free admission and guided tours of these facilities and the planetarium for the group :-) You can chill out in the Allerpark with its swimming lake, sandy beach and high ropes course.

Sustainable - inclusive - integrative - diverse and colourful - an intact environment, a strong social community and solid economic structures should ensure that future generations will also find a world worth living in Lamspringe. The municipality is a recognised globally sustainable community and has been awarded the title of Fairtrade Town for its promotion of fair trade. The 17 sustainability goals of Agenda 2030 are to be implemented here in many individual steps. Encounters, intercultural learning, international understanding and integration are important components of everyday life. People from over 18 countries are living peacefully together in this small town of around 6,000 inhabitants. Your camp will help to create a sustainability trail in the monastery park. Some of the 17 sustainability goals will be explained on information boards so that everyone can see them. Together with local young people and the community work coordinator, you will design and set up the boards. You will also be helping to set up an international garden in the monastery park. The third project in which you can lend a hand is the reconstruction of the educational vegetable garden on the grounds of the primary school.

There is an extensive network of cycling and hiking trails in the surrounding area through a marvellous natural landscape. The youth organisation “Netzwerk Jugend” has an internet room and is planning a number of events for the summer, such as a party in the monastery's Kreuzkeller. At the weekend, a trip to Bad Gandersheim (park of the State Garden Show), Alfeld (UNESCO World Heritage Site Faguswerk) or to the UNESCO World Heritage City of Hildesheim is well worthwhile.

Shoot a short film together and beautify a circus space with art and crafts! - You can try this out at this international art camp. "Learning by doing" is the order of the day, so you can collect ideas and try things out in small groups.

In the first week, you will show off your craft and artistic skills and improve the site of the Jokes Circus School, a children's and youth project with a real circus tent.
In addition to the tent, there are mainly shipping containers on the site, which serve as offices, toilets, storage rooms, dining and meeting rooms and will also be used by you during the camp. You will carry out various craft and gardening activities to beautify the circus site. For example, as you can see in the photos, you will build a roof construction between two containers and pave new paths on our circus site. In between, there will also be some juggling, acrobatics or aerial artistry.
More information about Jokes Die Circusschule (Jokes – The circus school) can be found here: https://www.circusjokes.de/ (unfortunately only in German)

In the second week, you will learn how to create short films - from the initial idea to completion. After an introduction to the technology, you will develop a storyline and start filming. Whether it's a short feature film with you as the actors or a short documentary film - you can tell your own little story. There are no limits to your imagination. In addition to the many different filming techniques, you will also learn how to edit and add sound to your films (probably using the freely available video editing programme CapCut). Previous knowledge is not required, but would be appreciated. You will be guided by an experienced film and photo journalist. The film workshop will take place from Monday 29 July to Friday 2 August from approx. 9am to 5pm.

Your accommodation is close to Bremen's city centre in a lively district. From there you can explore the 1,200-year-old Hanseatic city of Bremen (www.bremen.de) on foot or by bus, with its many sights, cultural offerings, nightlife scene and many shopping opportunities. On the days off, excursions to the North Sea coast (e.g. Bremerhaven), to Hamburg or other cities are possible.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

Jokes die Circusschule (Jokes the circus school)
In 1998, young circus enthusiasts founded their own circus school together with artists and teachers. Since then, young and young-at-heart artists from 4 to 99 years have been able to help shape the circus school.
In 2020, after a long period of planning, the school was finally able to move to its own space and set up its own circus tent, where shows are performed regularly. In addition, the Circus School has a hall for training. Almost 260 children and young people use these halls every week to do circus together. In addition, there are more than 300 children and young people who are looked after at schools on a weekly basis.

Arbeit

Your task will be to help the surrounding communities with mowing fields and collecting hay. Sometimes, the fields are on a slope and are difficult to reach with machines. In nearby orchards, you'll be repairing fences and protecting trees from being gnawed away by sheep. You will also take care of rough grazing land, in order to conserve the habitats of endangered plants and animals.
Another task for you will be to pull out small tree saplings from the meadow in order to prevent them spreading in this particular habitat – therefore learning a lot about conservation in the process. For one week you'll be at the Domberg Hill at Freising, where you'll be working on paths to protect them from erosion and repairing sheep shelters and fences around the meadow.
The working tasks are led by a specialist, who can tell you a lot about the local nature and the significance of your work. The Landscape Conservation Association would like to give you some information about relationships within nature so that you can better understand the meaning and implications of your work.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

You will stay in a cozy and large self-catering house of the Naturfreunde in Marzling, 5 km outside of Freising in an idyllic hillside location above the Isar with a view of the Alps, the Franz-Josef-Strauß-Airport and a large sun terrace. You will all sleep together in a dormitory on the 1st floor. The camp leaders can get an extra room if necessary. You must bring your own sleeping bags and sheets. The project organizers will provide you with a washing machine in the disabled toilet and a second fridge.

Lage und Freizeit

By bus or with the minibus (you will have during the time of the camp) you will reach Freising in about 20-25 minutes. From there, the S-Bahn train travels to Munich. In Munich you have the opportunity to visit many museums, the English Garden or the famous Munich Hofbrauhaus.
In the area surrounding Munich and in the Alps, you can go hiking and enjoy nature. Due to the close proximity to Hallertau, the largest hop-growing region in the world, there are many typical beer gardens in beautifully preserved villages such as Attenkirchen, Au or Rudelzhausen. You can go swimming in one of the lakes in Freising or in the Freising pool. Furthermore,a trip to Landshut (about 30km away) is also very worthwhile. Landshut has a very beautiful historic old town, as well as the Martinskirche – the tallest brick church tower in the world.

The camp lasts for four weeks. You need to be able to ride a bike. Some weather resistance is necessary for the tasks outside. The tasks may be physically challenging. You must bring ankle high mountain boots/mountain shoes, which you will need for work as well as for hiking! We look forward to meeting you if you enjoy spending time outside in the nature, and enjoy hiking and biking! It is great for this camp’s organization if you enjoy cooking, since the group will prepare its own meals, grocery shop, and even receive free groceries from some local shops in Freising.

Do you like playing with children and would you like to help children from the district of Nordwestmecklenburg experience great holidays?
Then join us and look after 20 to 30 children between the ages of six and twelve every day in the Hanseatic city of Wismar and in three or four other towns in the district of Nordwestmecklenburg as part of the holiday play activities. With your ideas and your desire for creative activities, sports games, music and dance, make sure that these days are a great experience for you and the children. With games, songs and handicraft ideas from your home countries, you can give the play weeks an international flair.
On Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th of July, you will prepare the holiday play activities and the press conference on 30th of July. Afterwards, from Wednesday 31st of July to Friday 2nd of August and from Monday 5th of August to Friday 9th of August, you will look after the children together with the help of the educational staff on site and put your prepared ideas into practice.
The holiday play activities take place in the Hanseatic city of Wismar and in the youth facilities of the district of Nordwestmecklenburg. The Wismar Children's and Youth Leisure Centre will provide you with bicycles for the entire period. You can also use the bikes to go on excursions into the town and the surrounding area. For trips to other places in the district, you will receive holiday tickets to use public transport if possible or you will be driven by the team.
A good knowledge of German will make it easier for you to get in touch with the children. Communication in the camp will be in German and English.
