About the project location:
The house is located in the center of Louvain-la-Neuve, near shops, woods, and a little lake. Louvain-la-Neuve is a planned city in the municipality of Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, situated 30 km southeast of Brussels, in the French-speaking part of the country. The city was originally built in the 70s to house the Université Catholique de Louvain. As a result, it is now a very lively mix of cultures, ages and backgrounds.
Located 30 km from Brussels in the heart of Walloon Brabant, the site of the University of Louvain-la-Neuve welcomes over 20,000 students in its eleven faculties.
Created in 1971 by the university, this city is one of the youngest in Europe. A city in the countryside, it offers an exceptional living environment to students, researchers, professors and inhabitants. Museums, cinemas, theaters, concert and exhibition halls, a swimming pool and sports center, restaurants and cafés, shops and green spaces: all contribute to the quality of its environment.
Its entirely pedestrianized urban center allows easy access to all academic buildings and provides an environment where students, researchers, professors and residents meet and form a unique social, cultural and economic fabric.
About the leisure activities possible:
There is always something to do in Louvain-la-Neuve: shows, festivals, events organized by students, museums, language courses, sport facilities, parks, etc. The location is also very central in Belgium; you can easily travel anywhere by train or bus. Visit Brussels, Namur, Bruges, the coast, Antwerp, and more.
