Arbeit

The vibrancy of our community and scope of volunteering are reflected in both our Residential Homes and our Day Program. Stanton Home has a team of 70+ dedicated professionals who partner with and provide support to over 20 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These adults live in residential homes in the Berkshires and come together for an active Day Program with on-site activities including organic gardening, composting, music, yoga, hiking, weaving, culinary arts, and various activities throughout the local community including horseback riding, swimming and pottery.

Stanton Home has been providing care for adults with diverse needs since 1986. Volunteers serve as a part of the Residential Life at Stanton Home as well as in our Day Program. Volunteers assist with daily living activities and the direct care necessary for the health, safety, and well-being of the people we support.

Stanton Home has six residential homes. Each home is unique to the individuals who live there. Volunteers play an active role in the rhythms and routines of residential daily life. There are things to be done from dawn to bedtime.

Volunteers are an important part of each residential team (along with house managers, case managers and staff) that supports the day-to-day household operations and plans together to best balance the contributions and needs of everyone. A volunteer’s residential duties and responsibilities support individual needs and encourage individual independence:

● Companionship - As companions, volunteers build relationships by living together in the house and sharing day-to-day lived experiences. To enrich relationships, volunteers engage in hobbies and activities based on residents’ interests. Volunteers are encouraged to share their own talents with residents as well. As a group, households attend cultural events, potlucks and other planned gatherings to join and celebrate as a community.
● Direct Care - Volunteers assist with the daily living activities which support the day to day activities of the residents of the house as well as the overall running of the household (for example doing laundry, dusting and cleaning, shopping, preparing meals and baking, providing rides to appointments).
● Personal care - Volunteers support the personal care of our residents. Personal care means assisting with the health and hygiene of individuals (for example dressing, washing, bathing, brushing teeth, and mobility support). The level of personal care required depends upon the unique needs of each resident.

Day Program

Day Program duties and responsibilities focus on building occupational and social skills. The Day Program supports the interests of a wide range of individuals, both from Stanton Home and the extended special needs community. Day Program activities include hiking, gardening, culinary, weaving, music and other activities such as swimming, therapeutic horseback riding and therapeutic art and dance classes held at community partnership organizations. A focus is on supporting individuals in achieving goals and building positive social relationships.
Training: Volunteers receive support and supervision from the Volunteer Coordinator, House Managers, Case Managers, staff and other administrative staff. Additionally, the Volunteer Coordinator may act as on-site mentor and inter-cultural liaison. Volunteers participate in the following mandatory trainings:
● Orientation - to become familiar with procedures, key properties and complete necessary paperwork.
● Initial Training - to learn about the history of Stanton Home, mission and values; to understand regulations, policies and protocols including: HIPAA, professional boundaries, medical and behavioral emergencies, fire safety, incident reporting, minor injury protocol, health observation guidelines, mandated reporting, etc.
● Residential Training - shadowing House Manager and staff in residential life including: schedules, routines, meals, activities, general household rules, personal care, medicine distribution (if applicable), safety and documentation.
● Certifications - online training and certifications for First Aid, CPR and bloodborne pathogens.
Schedule: Volunteers are scheduled for approximately 40 hours per week, as outlined in the volunteer contract. This schedule includes both Residential hours and Day Program hours, morning, afternoon, evening, overnight shifts weekdays and weekends. Volunteers receive 2 days off each week and accrue 2 days of vacation for each month of volunteer service completed. Vacation requires prior approval.

Important Qualities: A caring mindset, empathy and compassion. Enthusiasm and eagerness to learn. A team oriented approach and the commitment to developing positive relationships with residents, program participants, staff and other volunteers. Dependable, professional and task-oriented.
Requirements: Volunteers must be at least 18 years old, speak at least intermediate English and have a valid driver's license permitting driving in the US is required. Volunteers need to have a phone with an active plan to make and receive calls within the United States. The cost of maintaining a calling plan is a volunteer's responsibility.
Additional Information: English Language tutoring is available locally.
Pocket Money: A set monthly stipend is provided to volunteers to help cover personal and incidental expenses.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Accommodation and Food: Food is provided. Local, fresh meals are made during volunteer shifts, with ingredients often from the Stanton Home biodynamic farm. A private or shared bedroom and shared bath are provided in one of the residential houses, our volunteer house or at the farm.

Arbeit

Volunteers are welcomed and live as part of a household where they help with the running of the home they also enjoy. During the work week they join a team on the land, bakery, food preserving kitchen, construction/woodworking, or crafts, facilitating, learning, and helping the team reach their goal. Weekends and evenings are filled with social and vocational opportunities. The type of volunteer work is matched to the individual’s tastes and strengths to optimize the most fulfilling experience for all. The hours vary and follow a farm-life structure with some early mornings and late nights in the growing season and a creative, co operative, and flexible attitude to social opportunities and travel to best suit everyone.
Coworker position requires a motivated person who enjoys being part of a team. Practical idealism, an appreciation of the outdoors, and a wish to make a real difference in the world helps! Previous agricultural experience or experience of people with disabilities is not necessary, but an open mind and a wish to learn definitely is.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Volunteers live together family- style in homes lead by long term volunteers in the community. Each person has their own bedroom. All meals, and use of amenities (computer, wifi, toiletries, house phone, workshops) is included. We can insure drivers over 21 with a clean driving record to use our vehicles.

Lage und Freizeit

We live in the middle of a conservation area with hiking and biking trails, waterfalls and a pristine river to canoe and kayak. Our friendly small town offers shopping, coffee shops, parks, community theater, swimming pool, gym, basic amenities, and local festivals. Museums, concerts, theaters and events can be accessed an hour away in Minneapolis/St Paul. While there is no public transport, people over 21 with a clear driving record can often drive our vehicles and those who can’t are offered rides and use of bikes for shorter distances. We make it possible for volunteers to camp, visit Chicago, Madison, Milwaukee, (4-7 hours away) and Lake Superior depending on their interest and enjoy connecting them to opportunities see more of the USA in and outside the tourist areas. Year-long volunteers can expect to have about 3 weeks of vacation offered through the year.

Join the Lyukóvölgy summer camp and help create unforgettable experiences for children aged 6 to 18! Be part of an international volunteer team that makes a real difference in their lives. As a volunteer, you can teach English, lead games and sports activities, and, most importantly, bring confidence, trust, and joy to the children. The camp starts each day between 8:00 and 8:30 when the children arrive. The morning kicks off with group exercise or dance at 9:00, followed by an hour of sports—ping pong, football, badminton, or any activity you enjoy leading. From 11:00 to 13:00, thematic workshops focus on career orientation (sharing your studies and work experience) and healthy living. Around 30 children participate daily. The official program ends with a shared lunch at 13:00, but your involvement doesn’t have to stop there. You can help with learning, play with younger kids, organize activities for teens, or even join a herb-collecting trip!

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

The project is co-financed by the European Union through the European Solidarity Corps program, and there is no participation fee. All volunteers will be accommodated in Miskolc at the Martin Luther King Dormitory, a student residence dedicated to disadvantaged youth. We provide three meals a day: breakfast at the dormitory, a communal outdoor-cooked lunch at the learning center, and additional pocket money for dinner. A vegetarian option may be available, but unfortunately, a vegan diet cannot be accommodated. Each volunteer will receive a daily allowance of 7 EUR. At the end of the project, travel costs to the project location will be reimbursed based on the travel distance. All necessary equipment for the tasks will be provided.

Lage und Freizeit

Miskolc is a vibrant city rich in cultural and natural treasures, located in the northeastern part of Hungary at the foot of the Bükk Mountains. The town is an ideal location for hiking and cultural exploration. Landmarks such as the Diósgyőr Castle and the Miskolctapolca Cave Bath offer unforgettable experiences. Local communities and organizations warmly welcome international volunteers to work together on beautifying the city. During the program, participants also have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Hungarian culture and traditions.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

The Lyukóvölgy Learning Center of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service has been operating in the suburbs of Miskolc since 2016, supporting disadvantaged, primarily Roma children in catching up outside school and overcoming social challenges. Through individual and small-group sessions, as well as recreational activities, the center fosters children's development in collaboration with schools and families.

Anreise zum Treffpunkt

The nearest airport is Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport (BUD). The easiest way to get to Miskolc from Budapest is by train or bus. Trains depart from Keleti Railway Station, with InterCity trains taking about 2 hours and 10 minutes. Volánbusz services depart from Népliget, with a journey time of around 2.5 to 3 hours.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

Since 2000, volunteers from all over the world have participated in summer programs designed to help improve the vegetable farm at the Childcare Center of Mongolia (Children's Home). However, between 2014-2018 they decided to discontinue their farming activities due to a lack of human resources and the unavailability of farming land. In 2017, our organization managed to rent farming land for the Children's Home, and they resumed their farming activities on this new land. As a result, our cooperation with their farm restarted in 2018. One of the main roles of international volunteers will be assisting with the farming work at the Children's Home.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

Children Development is one of the major programs at VIN Integrated Community Development Approach. The Goal of the Childrens development program is to protect the rights of all children by providing them access to basic quality education, developing their life skills (creativity, leadership etc.) and providing access to health and hygiene services. VIN has different projects under children s development program such as Children s Clubs (CC), Early Childhood Development (ECD), School Attendance (Teacher Development, Parenting Education, School Infrastructure Development, and Child Sponsorship), and Child Care. Even these days in Nepal, schools are focused mainly on examination and are not doing enough to develop life skills like creativity and leadership for children. Teachers only focus on reading and writing U? 1/2 rote learning. Creativity and individual differences in children are not explored. Due to the busy work schedule of parents, most of the children do not have an opportunity to socialize and be creative. These types of camps are so essential to provide life skills development opportunities to children aged between 5-12 years old. We work only with disadvantaged communities as these families cannot afford to take their children to holidays during their Winter and Summer breaks. Children don t have a proper structure and environment at home or a school to develop their innate talents. Children s camp (during winter and summer breaks) is one of the best places to explore their natural skills such as creativity and leadership. In this work camp, national and international volunteers will facilitate different types of fun and creative activities for the children where VIN works. Objectives: To provide unique opportunities for overall development (social, emotional, physical, mental, creativity) and provide a fun time for children aged between 5 and 12 utilizing their vacation period. To promote friendship, understanding, and solidarity among local young volunteers and cross-national volunteers. To provide an opportunity to understand and appreciate the Nepalese culture and traditions via cultural immersion.

VIN s Environmental and Conservation Programs raise community awareness of critical environmental issues and develop effective solutions. VIN runs various ecological projects that aim to conserve, promote, and protect the environment and culture while preventing, mitigating, and controlling water, land, and air pollution to enhance the health, safety, and welfare of current and future generations. We utilize permaculture for sustainable farming and have been teaching and implementing it since 2018. We believe that permaculture plays a vital role in restoring the entire ecosystem Holi, the Festival of Colors, is a major celebration in Nepal, symbolizing the victory of good over evil and the arrival of spring. During this lively festival, people throw colored powders and water to share blessings and celebrate a bountiful harvest. Originally a Hindu tradition, Holi is now celebrated by many, including non-Hindus across South Asia and beyond. The festivities include gathering with family and friends, playing music, and enjoying special foods and drinks. Volunteers help prepare and celebrate the Holi festival in the community.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

This project is actively working for SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), organized together with the local group since 2019. This village has been welcoming Ohenro (pilgrims) who visit 88 temples in Shikoku since long time ago. The pilgrims walk through this village before visiting Kakurin-ji temple; the 20th temple out of 88 temples of the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage. However, there are problems which should be solved such as aging and depopulation of the community these days, and locals haven't been able to find solutions for those problems. On the other hand, since more and more people from overseas visit for the Shikoku Ohenro Pilgrimage locals are trying to find new ways for omotenashi (hospitality). Volunteers who have been working on the project have come up with ideas for the reuse of vacant and abandoned land. Local host Oi have finally decided that they can freely renovate and modify the vacant houses. Moreover, the site is in a good location, with mountains, a river and fields. It is up to the volunteers from now on to decide how to develop the project. The aim is for the volunteer members to clean up the abandoned houses and village landscape and transform it into a village that people will want to visit to take photos, as it used to be a village where people came and went since ancient times.

Come to our camp if you feel that…

Thanks to archaeology, the remains of our cultural ancestors can be found, studied and understood. You do not need experience to participate in “Paper Road”. You will work with an archaeologist and historian. The volunteer camp takes place at the foot of the mountain, in the Paular valley, a place historically linked to the Los Batanes estate as a model of industrial development such as the use of different hydraulic devices to take advantage of water energy. This is where the galley proofs with which the first edition of Don Quixote was published were produced.

Why participate in our field?

In “Camino de Papel”, participants will carry out a series of specific archaeological activities in different locations with the aim of discovering archaeological remains based on previous research.
For 15 days, you will be able to enjoy a special vacation, meeting people from other regions and countries.

Tasks specific to the field of volunteering

 Clearing and cleaning of existing vegetation , both inside and outside and around the perimeter of archaeological structures.
 Manual cleaning and scraping of construction parts (walls, floors, etc.) , removing vegetation that is harmful to architectural elements. If archaeological objects are found, they will be collected, documented and stored for later study.
 Excavate certain structures using archaeological methodology , developing strict stratigraphic documentation of the levels of deposition and the construction units that may exist in the subsoil. In this process, all archaeological material will be collected. An archaeological survey is also planned.
 Register all archaeological material collected for research and subsequent storage in the Regional Archaeological Museum of the Community of Madrid, as established by current legislation.

Come to our camp if you feel that…

Natural resources must be cared for, protected and used in a responsible and rational way. In this field you will be able to get started on a project to create an ecosystem designed for the production of food and other raw materials, where perennial plants such as trees, shrubs, herbaceous plants and climbing plants interact with garden species. This project will be developed in the area around the “Villa Castora” hostel, located in a privileged enclave on the way to the Roman Road in the Sierra de Guadarrama.

Why participate in our field?

In the field “Biological Balances in the Villa Castora Youth Hostel”, volunteers will be able to design, using species such as trees, bushes, etc., an ecologically sustainable space in the surroundings of the “Villa Castora” youth hostel, imitating a natural forest in terms of its diversity of structure and functions. In addition, the construction of an insect hotel will encourage the appearance of small pollinators that will help increase the biodiversity of the space.

For 15 days, you will be able to enjoy a special vacation, meeting people from other regions and countries.

Tasks specific to the field of volunteering

 Analysis of areas to regenerate damaged ecosystems and prepare the edible forest, cultivating shrubs, trees, herbaceous plants and climbers.
 Design, assembly and installation of information panels on biodiversity spaces: vegetable garden, edible forest and insect hotel.
 Installing an irrigation system on planted shrubs and trees.
 Building an insect hotel: placing the boards.
 Review and development of spaces to promote biodiversity

Arbeit

Immerse yourself in history by taking part in a unique archaeological research project at the citadel of Doullens! Your mission will be to clear a mound of earth blocking access to an unexplored underground passage. Using careful excavation techniques, you will dig and sift through each layer of soil, searching for historical artifacts and hidden remnants of the past. This workcamp is a true archaeological adventure, offering the chance to uncover long-buried secrets of this remarkable site.
Come and visit this area where JRR Tolkien lived and got inspired to create his worldly known universe of Lord of the Rings.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

You will be accommodated in individual tents within one of the citadel’s gardens, a unique and historic setting. A former jail will serve as a communal living space, providing a dining area and a sheltered retreat in case of bad weather. Sanitary facilities will be available in an annex building, while showers will be accessible at the town’s gym, a 15-minute walk from the campsite.

Collective living will be at the heart of this experience: you will share daily tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be managed by the animation team for grocery shopping, and you will be encouraged to use fresh, local, and seasonal products for healthy, mainly vegetarian and delicious meals.

Lage und Freizeit

Doullens is located in the northern part of the Somme, at the crossroads between Amiens, Arras, and Abbeville. This strategic position places it within easy reach of historical and cultural landmarks, including the stunning Gothic cathedral of Amiens, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the vibrant city of Arras, known for its beautiful squares and underground tunnels.

Surrounded by picturesque countryside, Doullens offers a peaceful setting perfect for outdoor activities such as hiking and exploring the region’s rich history. Volunteers will have the opportunity to visit nearby sites like the Baie de Somme, one of France’s most breathtaking natural reserves, Samara archeological parc or explore the remnants of World War I battlefields. During the summer, local events, markets, and cultural festivities will add to the experience. With the support of the team, outings and activities will be organized to fully enjoy the region’s heritage, nature, and warm community atmosphere.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

The EPCC of the Somme are long-standing partners of Concordia. After a first collaboration in 2019 on the archaeological site of Samara, the EPCC of the Somme has decided to renew our partnership for an exciting new project: the exploration and enhancement of the underground tunnels of the Doullens citadel. This initiative reflects a shared commitment to preserving and showcasing historical heritage while engaging young international volunteers in a mission of discovery and cultural transmission.

The city of Doullens and the EPCC are fully dedicated to welcoming volunteers and will ensure a friendly and enriching experience. Many interactions with locals and community members are planned, providing a deep immersion into the region’s culture and history. This work camp is a unique opportunity to actively contribute to the preservation of an iconic site while sharing meaningful moments with the local community.

Anreise zum Treffpunkt

The meeting is planned at the Saint Martin Place in Doullens, 18th July at the end of the day. The exact time of the meeting will be communicated with the info sheet, sent at least 4 weeks before the beginning of the workcamp.

From PARIS, regular trains (around 1 per hour) leave from the Gare du Nord train station for Amiens train station (1hour trip).
From Amiens, a bus is available every hours in direction of Doullens

The trains are open to booking about 4 months before the departure dates, accessible on the following website: https://www.sncf-connect.com/en-en/

If you are coming first by plane, remember that you will need some time to commute from the airport to the train station, therefore we recommend that you arrive early enough for you not to rush and have a stress-free travel.

Weitere Infos

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues arise on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

Anforderungen

Please bring good shoes, working clothes and a swimsuit. As nights can be quite cold,
remember also to bring warm clothes, a sleeping bag and a matress for more comfort. You can also bring traditional recipes from your home country/region, an instrument of music and games.

Arbeit

Celebrate 35 years of German Reunification, for this reason PEACE is the main theme of this project. The workcamp combines volunteering, learning from history, thinking about peace and the exchange with the local villagers in a special way.

+ Volunteering: There will be various smaller tasks in Hötensleben. You will be doing some maintenance work at the border memorial, mowing and building new wooden seating areas. Other small jobs for the local infrastructure will be added.

+ Learning from history: You will not only work on the border memorial, but will of course also be given a lot of background information on the history of the Iron Curtain and the division of Germany, as well as going on excursions to other thematically relevant places of interest.
Thinking about peace: What is Peace for you? When and how is peace in danger? Share your personal point of view and the reality in your home country with other volunteers and with local villagers.

+ Exchange with local villagers: Peace will be one topic to share and to discuss, but you will also get to know local associations and be able to exchange ideas about everyday life today. They are very excited to meet you and will be glad to share stories with you about their experience in this border area. It would be great if you can speak a bit of German and/or are able to communicate with a phone translator.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

You will stay in the former village hall that is renovated now and includes several holiday apartments. They offer a quite comfortable stay and ensure enough room for everyone. There are different sleeping rooms with beds provided and a good equipped kitchen as well. Wifi-acess is limited. Bear in mind that the ground floor of the building is used for different activites during the week, and don’t be scared if you see some unfamiliar faces roaming around!

Your group of volunteers will be responsible for grocery shopping and cooking together. The food will be bought with the camp budget and everybody will take turns for cooking, washing the dishes and cleaning. In order to reduce our carbon footprint on the planet, we encourage volunteers to reduce meat and try more sustainable dishes.

Lage und Freizeit

Hötensleben is a little village with about 2,500 inhabitants. International workcamps have been taking place there for some 25 years, so local inhabitants are looking forward to welcome the volunteers. Many activities will be done together with locals, e.g. the voluntary fire brigade of Hötensleben.

Volunteers should be interested in German contemporary history. We will work at and visit historical places and commemoration sites related to Germany’s history.

You will be given bicycles so that you can be mobile in your free time and, for example, go to the swimming pool.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

You will be hosted in a very special village. From 1961 to 1989, the Wall with its martial border fortifications ran right next to the village. It divided Germany into two parts and was part of the so-called Iron Curtain. The people of Hötensleben lived in a restricted zone for almost 30 years and always had the Wall in view. To this day, 400 metres of the border fortifications have been preserved as a memorial and are visited by many visitors. Here you can find an impression of the border memorial: http://www.grenzdenkmal.com
2025 marks the 35th anniversary of German reunification. This should be taken as a sign of hope for Germany, Korea and the whole world and from the basis for further discussions. Questions about war and peace, migration and its causes, isolation and violence are unfortunately still very topical issues today. This project in Hötensleben gives you the opportunity to learn more about the time of the Iron Curtain and the division of Germany and to reflect on what peace means to you and how you can contribute to it. At the end, you will present your personal perspective on the topic of "peace" to the local villagers and discuss it with them. German speakers are therefore particularly welcome.

Anreise zum Treffpunkt

Meeting point will be the bus stop “ZOB, Schöningen”. Your campleaders will arrange several pick-ups from there (probably between 4pm and 9pm). To reacht the meeting point please use bus No 370 from Helmstedt train station. For connections from anywhere to “ZOB, Schöningen”, please check www.bahn.com .

Anforderungen

Please add a short motivation letter to your application, describing your interest in this special project.

Please note that you should be able to ride a bicycle!

Activating kids in the city camp and providing them with cross-cultural learning experience. Volunteers will do it by using various informal methods of teaching as well as small group techniques. The activities to be held by a team of volunteers may include the following: playing the games and performing music that are popular in the countries the volunteers represent; training kids to perform pieces of amateur drama; preparing festivals; providing intellectual and sport games as well as discussions; preparing quests to combine with excursions round the places of interest; organizing actions for peace and nature protection; leading and supporting kids in their work on the team projects within the topics related to the main theme of the summer. Volunteers are responsible for the day activities in the camp. The work can be quite hard, involving long working hours, requiring high level of commitment and responsibility. You will stay with campers from 10:00 to 17:00 (45-minute lunch is included) and spend about another hour to prepare and finalize next day activities and feedback. Working days are from Monday to Friday plus one duty Saturday; Sundays are days off except the one after arrival. The local participants are mainly youngsters from minority groups of Tallinn whose family s languages include Russian. Based on the previous year, we expect a number of kids/teens participants in one camp shift as up to 40. Volunteers will work in pairs facilitating and leading a smaller group of 10 - 12 children or less during the day and change the groups every 2-3 days.During the first three days of the workcamp after arrival, volunteers will be given the training on the camp methodology and some time to prepare themselves to meet the kids/teens on Monday and further carry out their tasks in the camp. For this reason, it is important to arrive on time.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

This project is organized for local children by The Language School In Down-Town and the non-profit educational association Alternative Language Programs Satellite (ALPS) as part of their annual activities on multicultural issues for youth. Some international teenage participants may randomly join. The common project s aim is to introduce the diversity of world cultures to children and provide them with good practices in intercultural communication using the learning-by-doing method and organizing alternative English language practice. The project gets youngsters familiar with customs and traditions of the countries from all over the world and encourages them to develop their cross-cultural thinking and tolerance as well as global thinking and individual initiative. This summer we offer you to participate in our project called KALEIDOSCOPE . We invite camp participants to discuss ideas of chaos and order, mess and harmony. Together, we will discover our own infinite potential and freedom to create new patterns of life, same way as we create patterns out of random single pieces of colourful glass twisting a kaleidoscope. We will learn how to find harmony in apparent disorder and use chaos as a tool for stress relief, how to turn imperfection into the source of true beauty and embrace uncertainty to make our life journey more successful, unique and vibrant. Camp participants will gain ideas and skills how to deal with millions of combinations of the world s reality. Meetings with local and/or international professionals in the field will take place. Thematic photo and video contests for camp participants will be organized.NB It is possible and you are welcome to apply for 2 shifts in a row EST DT1 EST DT2 or EST DT3 EST DT4

We expect active volunteers with a good knowledge of history and culture of their country as well as with an ability and wish to present it to others in a creative way. B2 level of English is required. The age of volunteers is from 20 to 33. Please note that before making a final decision about your participation in the camp, the project coordinator will have a video interview with you.Participation feeWe ask participants to contribute 50 Euro towards the costs of general administration. If you apply for two shifts in a row the participation fee is 80 Euro. This fee has to be paid by bank transfer before the beginning of the camp. If you cannot make it, please contact your sending organization for a solution.

Arbeit

During this workcamp, you'll contribute to the construction and installation of collective com-post bins. The work will involve laying out the space, assembling the compost bins using re-cycled materials, installing a ventilation system, and defining composting rules. You'll also take part in collecting the first organic waste to start composting. It's a great opportunity to make a concrete commitment to the environment! 25h/week

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

The workcamp will take place in a particularly isolated area, where you will be accommodat-ed on the REV site in a collective tent (remember to bring your sleeping bag). You will have access to sanitary facilities close to the camp. What's more, if weather conditions deteriorate too much for camping, we'll set up a permanent camp for the duration of the bad weather. Meals will be provided by the REV and cooked in turn by the participants.

Lage und Freizeit

The workcamp will take place on the REV's permanent site, a former vacation camp at an altitude of 1,200m. The site is located at the foot of Mont-Lozère (department 48) in the heart of the Cévennes. The REV took over the site in the spring of 2022 and hopes to turn it into a place of welcome, exchange and encounter. This project will be part of the transformation of the colony into a socio-cultural living space. Shaped by erosion, this territory is criss-crossed by several watercourses, geological formations such as the causes and numerous forests of many species. A wide variety of flora and fauna have been preserved here thanks to the low human density of recent centuries. The nearest town is Mende, with 16,000 inhabitants.

Far from the French metropolises, Lozère is nonetheless a very dynamic region. The region's activities revolve around local festivities, concerts and unspoilt natural areas (mountains, riv-ers, forests).

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

Join us for an ecological and convivial project: together, we're going to create collective com-post bins! You'll help assemble the composts, organize the spaces and set up the first com-posting rules. It's an opportunity to help reduce waste and improve the association's local en-vironment. You'll be involved in all the practical stages, from building composts to launching them, while learning the basics of composting and actively contributing to an ecological pro-ject.

Anreise zum Treffpunkt
