Arbeit

Volunteers will plan and lead different activities for children and teenagers.

The work includes:

Organizing workshops and activities on education, culture, arts and sports.
Planning and leading lessons.
Spending time with children: playing, talking, and being a good role model.
Helping with content for social media, communication campaigns and fundraising.

The foundation is open to new ideas and suggestions.

Volunteers work 5 days a week (5–6 hours per day), depending on the activities.

Note: Activities may change depending on the foundation’s program, weather, or other factors.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Volunteers will stay at the foundation, so they will share spaces with the children. However, there is a separate room for volunteers. No transport is needed.

The accommodation is safe and comfortable, with shared rooms, bathrooms, a kitchen, and common areas. It includes Wi-Fi, cleaning and laundry.

The local foundation provides at least 3 meals a day. There is no vegetarian menu, but the volunteers can remove the protein from the daily menu or prepare their own food.

Lage und Freizeit

Medellín, 'the city of eternal spring', capital of the Antioquia department, has a pleasant climate of around 24°C; it offers modern transport systems like Metro and Metro Cable. Located in a valley surrounded by mountains, this city is always friendly to visitors.

From the mountains that surround the capital of Antioquia you can see how the Medellín River runs parallel to the Metro, which connects various parts of the city. There is an abundance of parks, libraries, museums and public spaces where many cultural events take place. There is a flower festival and in the surrounding villages life is simple with relaxing landscapes and nature reserves.

Places such as the Botanical Garden, the Pies Descalzos park, the Berrío park and the Lleras park are places that you cannot miss.
In addition, Medellín has Parque Explora, an interactive science and technology museum in which children and adults can learn and try a large number of activities. Nearby you find the Planetarium and the Parque de los Deseos.
For more information visit: https://colombia.travel/en/medellin

The free time activities are not included in the extra fee.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

This program will be carried out in collaboration with a non-profit foundation in Medellín. Its main goal is to improve the quality of life of children and teenagers in vulnerable situations by ensuring their overall development and promoting their social, educational, and emotional inclusion.

Arbeit

This natural park is a natural reserve that has two lines of volunteering, the first is focused on conservation and its activities are aimed at caring for and protecting the environment, and the second aims at education with children, an alternative school and learning community in the heart of the reserve. As a volunteer you can work in the line that you like the most, having the possibility of working in both lines if you wish. The activities carried out in volunteering are the following:

1. Accompany and assist investigations carried out in the reserve
2. Maintenance of different spots, such as the small lake “laguna”, forest nursery, organic gardens, trails and infrastructure
3. Environmental education
4. Waste and compost management
5. Support in reforestation-restoration work (planting days)
6. Accompany the local, learning community´s activities (accompany walks with the children, starting new projects, accompany learning processes, play...)
7. Language classes with the children (according to the language(s) the volunteer knows)
8. Suggest, develop and carry out new initiatives and projects
9. Other activities according to the skills and abilities of the volunteer and according to the needs of the natural park and community living there

Working with the children in the park requires a high level of commitment and empathy. We are not looking for teachers, we are looking for people who understand that children are responsible for their learning process, and who want to accompany them in their explorations and self-directed learning.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

The volunteer house is located in the heart of a nature park. It has 2 shared rooms with beds available for 4 people individually and one double bed for a couple. There is also a bathroom, an equipped kitchen, a small living room, terrace and washing machine. The house is not always fully occupied. It may happen that you are the only volunteer, depending on the time of year.

Each volunteer who stays for at least two months is assigned a monthly budget to buy food according to his/her diet; the amount is enough to buy basic food in the local market. The volunteers are responsible for cooking their own meals, this is a perfect space to share recipes and carry out a culinary cultural exchange. Vegetarian food is available.

The water heater depends on the availability of gas. On some occasions, hot showers might not be available, but in general there is hot water available. The volunteers’ house has limited Wi-Fi (because there is only satellite internet in this remote area). It may only be used for basic needs, such as communication (some calls, messages, mails) and information (research, press), but not for large downloads, videos, streaming (music or movies), video calls, etc.

Lage und Freizeit

This natural park is located in the middle of a cloudy forest in the mountains, therefore it can be cold and rainy, depending on the season of the year. Given its location, the reserve is close to Bogotá (40 min approx.), there you will find many places to enjoy the Colombian culture.
In case you do not want to leave the reserve, we have some activities that you can do in your free time such as:
1. Night walks for wildlife watching (weekends)
2. Trekking inside and outside the park (e.g. visiting other village on trails)
3. Extreme sport and wellness activities: zip line, arborism, tree climbing, music therapy (must be agreed in advance with the areas, the park does not cover the cost of this activity)
4. Horseback riding (must be agreed in advance with the areas, the park does not cover the cost of this activity)
5. Bonfires
6. Birdwatching

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

This project will be carried out in cooperation with a natural park, located near Bogotá, between 2.100m and 2.600m above sea level.

Weitere Infos

Extra fee: 350.000 COP/month = approx.80 EUR/month
The extra fee includes WeCollab admin fee and local insurance during your program.
The activities require constant contact with nature; this means that the volunteer will be finding himself/herself using physical strength and getting his/her hands dirty to get the job done. It is good to know and understand that you can encounter rain, sun, mud and insects. In addition, to carry out the activities it is necessary to walk the different trails, which have steep slopes. Therefore, volunteers should be in good health and willing to walk the different trails.

Anforderungen

• Good health and physical condition, willing to hike the mountain on steep slopes, and understand the implications of working outdoors.
• Have a real interest in volunteering and not consider it just as a way of doing economic tourism.
• Minimum intermediate Spanish (English is a plus)
• Tetanus Vaccine (highly recommended)
• Minimum 2 months, maximum 6 months
• All participants must have medical assistance insurance, which covers, among others, situations related to COVID-19.

Help restore an old mill in the charming village of Isle, in the heart of the forest! The Mill of Meynieux is a 5-10 minutes drive away from the town center, in the middle of the forest, beside a stream. It's a very naturally rich area, at the crossroads of several hiking trails.
Your mission will be to continue the rehabilitation of the site which started 5 years ago with other international volunteer workcamps. You will be specifically working on the mill run, which consists of small walls created to divert the stream and bring water up to the mill to make it work! You will be clearing weeds, strengthening the walls and rebuilding the parts of the wall which have been deteriorated by time. Some additional missions are also planned, such as building wooden furniture (picnic tables, etc.) and improvements to the surrounding area, alongside the main project to restore the mill run.
You will be supervised by a technical leader who will teach you various traditional masonry techniques.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

You will be accommodated in individual tents provided by Concordia, which will be pitched on a natural area on the premises of the local stadium. You will have access to sanitary facilities, a kitchen and a communal space, in the town’s communal sport facilities. You will be sharing various collective tasks (cleaning, cooking, team activities, etc.) in order to facilitate the management of the workcamp. A budget will be allocated to the campleaders, and you will help with the shopping and preparation of meals, giving priority to seasonal and local products. We want to encourage a vegetarian diet on this workcamp, but will accommodate participants' various diets and we will attempt to discover the local cuisine together. WIFI is available on site, and you will be able to wash your clothes by hand.

Lage und Freizeit

Isle is a French town located in the Haute-Vienne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, close to the city of Limoges, famous for its porcelain, but also rich in history and heritage.
The town is proud of its exceptional natural environment. In the town centre, you will find flower gardens, green spaces and leisure facilities, alongside local shops and services. Just a few minutes walk away, Isle reveals a beautiful rural area, shaped by the two valleys of the Vienne and Aurence. Woods, meadows and farms mingle with the many local castles and manor houses in the municipality, while also enjoying the urban dynamism offered by the city of Limoges, just 5 minutes away.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

The town of Isle has big plans to restore their old rundown mill and the miller's house, located in the middle of the town’s beautiful forest. To do so, the local community has taken many measures to improve the site. This is the sixth year that Concordia has been involved with the preservation and restoration of this site and volunteers have been working hard to restore the mill’s irrigation system. Ultimately, the town wants to bring this place back to life, and be able to reactivate the mill ! Through this project, you'll be helping to preserve the town’s old mill, while spending time in nature, and by sharing a human and cultural experience with the town’s locals.

Anreise zum Treffpunkt

The meeting point is scheduled at LIMOGES-BENEDICTINS train station on the 14th of August at the end of the afternoon. The exact meeting time will be given with the infosheet which will be sent at the latest 4 weeks before the start of the workcamp. On the last day (28/08), the departure time is usually set in the morning, before 12h.

From Paris, you can take a train from Paris - Gare d’Austerlitz train station, regular departures are scheduled throughout the day to Limoges (about one train every hour). The trip lasts around 3 and a half hours.

If you are coming by plane first, remember that you will need some time to commute from the airport to the train station, therefore we recommend that you arrive early enough for you not to rush and have a stress free travel.

If possible, please consider using low-carbon emissions transportation (train and bus rather than plane) for a sustainable international workcamp.

The trains are open to booking about 4 months before the departure dates, accessible on the following website: https://www.sncf-connect.com/en-en/

Weitere Infos

According to your needs, bring a sleeping bag for cold weather, a mat or a thick sleeping mattress depending on your need for comfort, work clothes, sports shoes, warm and rain clothes, a flashlight, a swimsuit and sunscreen.
Don’t hesitate to bring anything interesting to share from your home country/region (traditional recipes, folklore stories, music, games, intriguing objects…) if you would like to share!

Concordia provides tents (one per participant) and a thin sleeping mat.

Anforderungen

Some of the work might imply working in water, so it's HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to bring closed hiking type shoes, if possible water resistant, for this workcamp.

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues arise on the project, volunteers will have to pay for them, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

Arbeit

Come to Klingenberg to build bridges between humans and their natural environment. The community is looking forward to your creation of spaces that will allow them to spend time in different natural areas.

Be prepared for lots of manual work in the fresh air. The two main tasks involve:
• Constructing an observation shack for people who’d like to watch birds and other events in the forest
• Constructing a wooden bridge into a small lake

Additional small tasks may develop on-site. A special treat is that you're working on the grounds of the raptor station: a place for different bird species like owls, hawks, eagles, and falcons. You will very likely get to meet them personally!

Please be aware that ticks can be an issue after spending a lot of time outdoors. In our General Info Sheet you will find suggestions on how you can protect yourself against them. Consider to check whether a vaccination against the tick-borne disease TBE makes sense and is possible in your home country.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

You stay in the club house Oskar's Waldhütte in the district of the town called Röllfeld. It is located at the edge of town surrounded by forests. There are mattress dormitories for up to 38 people, a kitchen, showers, and a lounge.
The entire group does grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning together. Food will be bought with the camp budget. To minimize our carbon footprint on the planet, we encourage volunteers to reduce meat and try more environmentally friendly meals.

Lage und Freizeit

Klingenberg slowly developed already in the 2nd century!
The town is located on the Main River at the edge of the Spessart Nature Park in the Bavarian region of Lower Franconia. It is famous for its red wine, so you're sure to be invited to a glass or two The town has a castle and many medieval half-timbered houses. You'll have time to explore the beautiful region and take trips to nearby towns such as Würzburg, Aschaffenburg, and Miltenberg.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

This is the third time the medieval town of Klingenberg am Main and its Forestry invites an international Workcamp to their community.

Anreise zum Treffpunkt

Meeting point is Klingenberg (Main) train station
Find connections from anywhere to the meeting point on: https://www.bahn.com/en

From there it is either a 40 minute walk to the accommodation, or you cross the bridge in front of the station, go to bus stop Festplatz, and take the bus line 61 (direction Mönchberg) and get off 6 stops later at “Röllfeld Röllbacher Strasse”. From there it is 5 to 10 minutes to walk to the accommodation.

Arbeit

There are always plenty of jobs to do on the grounds. This summer, the volunteers will specifically set to work repairing, renovating, and painting the bandstand so that people can come together here for culture and connection. The work therefore consists mainly of technical tasks. The necessary materials are provided by the host. In addition, other jobs may be on the schedule.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

You will stay on the grounds of the eco-village, and meals are provided by the host together with the volunteers. Please be sure to let us know if you have any special dietary requirements. Individual rooms and a mixed dormitory are available. Sanitary facilities (compost toilet), water supply, (self-generated) electricity, and internet are provided. Volunteers are required to bring their own sleeping bag, pillow, towels, and work clothes. During the project, you can experience what it is like to live in an alternative community and participate in fun activities and evening programs.

Lage und Freizeit

In your free time, you can explore the city of Wageningen and surrounding towns and villages. Additionally, you can take beautiful walks in the surrounding nature reserves. The host can advise you on which places and activities in the area are worth visiting.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

Ppauw is a mobile eco-village and a haven for ecological experimentation. On the 'fringes' of Wageningen, a suitable ecological footprint is being sought. Ppauw is also a natural, biodiverse breeding ground for new insights in Wageningen. The eco-village lies hidden in the forest on the Wageningen Berg, on the grounds of a former hospital. Here, people are building the society of the future based on the principles of permaculture, ecological living, and collaboration. In addition to developing an ecological vision, Ppauw rents out equipment for events, organizes DIY weekends, and offers day programs to schools. The site is not connected to the grid, which creates challenges and requires local solutions, and decision-making at Ppauw is usually unofficial. Together with Ecodorpen Gelderland (CVEG), Platform Duurzaam Wageningen, Tussen de Bomen, Tiny Houses Wageningen, and the housing association, Ppauw is united in ‘De Beuk’. The goal is to realize an ecological residential community with 150 homes. The dream is to turn the entire city of Wageningen into an eco-village. Will you do your bit for this project?

This project combines well with the other IBO project at a regenerative farm and eco-village in Erlecom, as these projects are organized consecutively. This way, you can travel around the Netherlands for 2 weeks this summer and contribute to both projects!

Volunteers will take part in hands-on conservation activities such as planting and caring for trees and shrubs, restoring and maintaining natural habitats, and observing local flora and fauna. The work also includes educational and community-oriented activities, such as workshops on ecology, sustainability, and conservation for children and young people aged 12–17. In addition, volunteers will support the organisation of a children’s camp, assisting the main organisers with daily activities and logistics. Volunteers are expected to actively contribute by designing and leading one activity that introduces participants to their country, culture, or subculture. In the afternoon, some educational blocks may also be open to the adult public. The work is mildly physically demanding and involves the use of basic hand tools; safety equipment is provided. In case of rain, volunteers will focus on indoor tasks such as tool maintenance, project planning, documentation, and preparation of educational materials.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Rooms are shared, including two-, three-, and four-bed options, and participants should bring their own sleeping bag and pillow. The facility includes a kitchenette, fridge, washing machine, and Wi-Fi, and offers four toilets and two showers to ensure a comfortable stay. Volunteers will have to help the local cook to prepare their breakfast and dinner. Lunch will be provided by the host organization and adjustment can be made by prior arrangement.

Lage und Freizeit

The workcamp is based in Karviná, a historic border town on the Olše River in northern Moravia, close to Poland. The area combines cultural and historical heritage with easy access to natural sites used for environmental projects such as habitat restoration and tree planting. Essential facilities are available nearby, including an ATM, pharmacy, and reliable mobile phone reception. Transport to worksites will be provided by minibus.

In their free time, volunteers can explore Karviná and its surroundings, including Fryštát Castle and park, Darkov Spa Park, and Darkov Lake. Leisure options include cycling, walking, swimming at the local pool, and outdoor activities in nearby nature areas. On days off, excursions can be made to Havířov, Český Těšín, or Ostrava, as well as hiking trips in the Beskydy Mountains, including Lysá hora, Praděd, and nature trails along the Olše River.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

The workcamp is organised in cooperation with Petrklíč help, z. s., a community-based educational organisation founded in Český Těšín that focuses on youth empowerment, non-formal education, volunteering, and environmental sustainability. The main goal of the workcamp is to involve volunteers in practical nature conservation and landscape care while providing education on ecology, sustainability, and climate resilience. Through hands-on habitat restoration, landscape management, and biodiversity support, volunteers gain practical experience in environmental protection and sustainable practices. The project contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goal 15: Life on Land and SDG 4: Quality Education through experiential learning and ecological stewardship.

Anreise zum Treffpunkt

The journey will last approximately 6h and will need from 5 to 6 changes.
We will provide more details in the specific infosheet.

Weitere Infos

Note that this is a learning/sharing camp and not a regular workcamp; this project has a smaller volunteer work part and emphasises the personal learning process over the community impact. We may be able to organise some outdoor voluntary work, but it depends on our partners and the weather conditions.
Participants will have time to put the theory about photography into practice, exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant will be selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS' social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods, and laptops, if possible. While learning about photography, the participants have the opportunity to explore Icelandic culture through active participation: capturing it, engaging with it, and showcasing their work throughout the camp. One of our goals is to empower young people to use photography to highlight environmental and cultural subjects and issues.
Participants should be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium to long distances during activities and working within a flexible schedule. Participants will be photographing in their free time outside of workshop hours with images to be discussed at group feedback sessions.
This camp is open to participants aged 16 to 20. During their stay, SEEDS organises a programme that combines learning, sharing, getting to know Iceland and its culture, and having fun while exploring the city and some of the most stunning natural attractions in the Golden Circle and the Hot River hike excursions.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

SEEDS participants will stay in a house in Reykjavík. The facilities are basic with an equipped kitchen, dining and living room, bathrooms, showers and a washing machine. As participants sleep in shared rooms with up to 6 people, everyone is expected to behave considerately. Please bring your own towel.
Participants will receive food supplies and be in charge of the cooking and cleaning activities. Note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. Do not forget to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music or games from your country for the intercultural evening. Be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.

Lage und Freizeit

Reykjavík is a dynamic, modern city which lives in harmony with nature, using renewable energy sources. The world’s northernmost capital bridges the Atlantic, between Europe and North America. Reykjavík is spread across a peninsula with a panoramic view of the mountains and the Atlantic. It is an international city with a lively cosmopolitan cultural scene surrounded by beautiful nature.
Additional excursions (eg. the South Shore or Reykjanes Peninsula) can be arranged at discount fares depending on time availability, weather conditions, and the number of participants interested in joining them.
Be prepared for cold or rainy weather and bring warm and/or waterproof clothing.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

This is the nineteenth year (since 2008) that SEEDS organises a series of International Photography projects. In 2010 we also began offering these camps for teenagers. Throughout the year, participants from all over the world come to Iceland for an immersive photography-focused learning camp. SEEDS coordinators help participants to develop their unique photographic skills through workshops and feedback sessions on technical settings, compositional considerations, and creating conceptual frameworks that highlight each participant’s individual style.

Anreise zum Treffpunkt

Meeting time will be 18:00 (6:00 pm) on August 16 at the SEEDS office. Participants that cannot arrive on time (later flights) will receive instructions on how to reach the camp location. Those arriving earlier the same day are welcome from 10:00 am in the office to drop their bags/luggage and wait for the meeting time.

Weitere Infos

English will be the language in the camp; intermediate conversational skills are needed.

Anforderungen

Participation fee EUR 650 (Euros), which needs to be transferred to SEEDS the latest one month before the camp starts to confirm the placement. It includes food, accommodation, transportation from the meeting point to the camp (on the first day), the Golden Circle and Hot river hike excursions. We will visit spectacular waterfalls, geysers, impressive coastline, a volcano crater, the Thingvellir National Park and much more.

Volunteers will support the work of the Kadampa Art Studio (KAS) by sanding, refining, and finishing Buddha statues and decorative elements for temples and centres around the world. It’s a hands-on role where you can contribute to beautiful, high-quality craftsmanship in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

Along the way, you’ll pick up practical skills such as surface preparation, finishing techniques, and working with fine detail. The work encourages a mindful approach and will help you build patience, focus, and a sense of calm as you work carefully with each piece.

Many volunteers find the experience both grounding and rewarding, offering a chance to slow down, learn something new, and take pride in creating something that will be appreciated by others.

No previous experience is needed, and you don’t need to be religious. You just need to be open-minded, willing to learn, and happy to get involved as part of a supportive team.

Please note that some tasks involve working with fine dust, and appropriate safety equipment such as dust masks will be provided and should be worn when required.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Volunteers will stay on-site at Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre in shared, single-gender dormitories. Accommodation is simple, comfortable, and designed to encourage community living and cultural exchange among participants.

Shared bathroom and toilet facilities are also single-gender. Volunteers should be prepared for communal living and respect the privacy and comfort of others.

Three vegetarian or vegan meals per day will be provided. Meals are nutritious, freshly prepared. Tea and coffee facilities will also be available.

Please inform the organisers in advance of any dietary requirements or allergies.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

Manjushri Kadampa Meditation Centre is the mother centre of a worldwide network of modern Kadampa Buddhist centres founded by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, who guided every aspect of the centre's development for over 40 years.

It is a special place dedicated to world peace, where people from all backgrounds can find inner peace, learn practical methods to solve everyday problems, and develop the ability to help others do the same.

The centre is based at Conishead Priory, a Grade II* listed Romantic Gothic house located just south of the English Lake District. Set within 70 acres of woodland and gardens on the shores of Morecambe Bay, it provides a peaceful and inspiring environment for volunteering, learning, and reflection.

Volunteering at Manjushri KMC offers a unique and enriching experience, both personally and spiritually. As part of an international community, volunteers spend time with people from many countries and all walks of life, each bringing different perspectives, experiences, and skills.

Those who wish can learn about meditation and explore Buddhist teachings, while enjoying the supportive atmosphere of a warm and welcoming community. In their free time, volunteers can easily explore the breathtaking lakes, mountains, and villages of the Lake District, one of the most beautiful regions of the United Kingdom.
