Main acticities of ESC volunteers:

Becoming the co-leader on the workcamps in Slovakia - Volunteers will participate on international voluntary workcamps in Slovakia. They will put all the theoretical knowledge, which they will gain during the project, into practice in the direct contact with the group of young people from different cultures.

Promotion of voluntary work and ESC Programe - Promoting volunteering and voluntary activities among youth is always important. That is why our ESC volunteers will visit schools and run presentations and workshops mostly about volunteering. They will be also involved in our promotional team and take care about our online media such as facebook, linkedin, twiter and INEX web page on daily basis.

If you stay longer, these activities are waiting for you:
“Tea meetings” - the ESC volunteers may contribute with ideas for the topics of these regular meetings of volunteers; they create an invitations for our volunteers; prepare the office according to the needs for the individual meeting; preparing the material for the "tea meeting"; also we would be very happy when they would present their own country, culture and ideas.

Participating and helping us with our trainings - ESC volunteers will participate on our trainings for the future campleaders. Due to their abilities, experiences and skills the volunteers may help and support us with the organization of these activities like buying materials, preparation of the program etc. We would welcome the creativity and initiative of the volunteers.

Creating virtual workcamp - creating and leading virtual workcamp

Administrative work - We would like the volunteers to help us with some administrative work like sorting and copying documents and other things. They will help a bit with shopping, going to the post office and work with our web-page and database.

Organizing events for children and people with disabilities - Volunteers will create the program for the activities; promote the activities among our volunteers and motivate them to participate on these activities. The volunteers will also contribute with organizing free-time activities for people with disabilities.

Creating workshop - Volunteers will have opportunity to create their own workshop "INEX Messenger" on the topic they choose. The theme of the workshop should be focused on the current situation in our society. The volunteers will present the workshop at workcamps, where we always have an educational part. According the topic for 2022 - European Year of Youth

The activities will be flexible and depend on the phase of the project.
We will create a timetable for each individual volunteer fitting his/her skills, abilities and wishes.
In case we organize the project and the volunteer is involved in, she/he is welcome to join the whole project and to help to run the activities.
In case the amount of working hours is higher than usual, the volunteer will get alternative holidays.

Main works are helping at orphanages and eco farm trough our work such as remove the weeds in the field, working in the greenhouse, making water canal for farm, making compost, etc. Quite tiring but let's enjoy it.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Summer house and Mongolian traditional tents which is GER (traditional tent). Need to bring Sleeping Bag! Cook by volunteers with local staff.

Lage und Freizeit

45 km from Ulaanbaatar. The place-name is “BUHUG”. The sight is just unbelievably beautiful,
typical Mongolian plain.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

Since 2000, volunteers from all over the world have been participating in summer programs designed to help/improve the vegetable farm of the Childcare Center of Mongolia (Orphanage). But last 4 years orphanages decided to not continue their farming work because of lack of human resources and availability of land for farming. Since 2017 our organization managed to rent farming land for the Orphanage and they started their farming work on this land again. So our cooperation will start again on their farm in 2018. So one of the international volunteer's work will be helping with the farming of the orphanage.
Same time we do run small eco farms in the same area to improve the method of eco-friendly farms and help poor families through our work. During the last years, we focused to improve more on the facilities of locals/ volunteers but not farming method and way. So when we look back in this moment our way to do farming and cultivating is not really productive and eco friendly. Even other farmers who do the same workaround are the same. Local people work very hard for hall summer but in autumn they got a very small harvest compared to their hard work. So since this year, we going to develop our farm more as a training farm of eco-farming for the local people. Local people could learn at our farm basic but very important ecological farming methods and know/how. We wish to achieve to get the biggest amount of harvest, using the smallest amount of land. Volunteers will work in the eco vegetable farms and develop eco farming training farms. Vegetables from the eco-farm will be donated to the low income (poor) local families

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

The Biviere di Gela is a natural reserve established in 1997 by the Sicilian Region and managed by LIPU (Italian league for birds protection). Due to its geographical position and climatic conditions, the lake Biviere (the largest Sicilian coastal lake and one of the few remaining natural ones) is one of the most important Sicilian wetlands for thousands of birds (e.g. ducks, heroon etc.) stopping here during migrations or wintering during the colder months. Activities in the nearby, such as intensive agriculture, embankments and drainage for agricultural purposes constitute a continuous threat to the survival of the wetland habitat. Due to financial cutting, the reserve suffers from maintenance and the support received along the year is not as much as should be provided. This is the reason why InformaGiovani with LIPU organised together workcamps to support the maintenance of the natural reserve and to sensitise the local community towards the place.

Arbeit

The Work Camp aims to help create the best possible building festival. You will all be working together in smaller teams of 2-5.

Week 1: During this week, the volunteers will be setting up the festival by sorting wood, moving materials around and making signs and decorations for the festival.
You will also be working on setting up the different areas of the festival - “the building area”, “bar”, “kitchen”, “dishwashing area”, “ticket-check-in”, “toilets”, “tent area”, “creative area”, “kids zone” and the “music stage area”. You can be creative and design an area as you think works best - you are creating the festival setting for everyone to enjoy.

Week 2: During this week, the festival will take place. You will be working in different areas of responsibility. You will be checking tickets in the ”check-in zone,” assisting in the kitchen, working with kids in the ”kids zone,” and assisting in the “tool shop.” We decide on who does what, together.
During week 2, all 500 festival guests (who purchase tickets) are assigned to also help run the festival with a minimum of one volunteer task. Thereby making everyone a volunteer. They fill out the tasks of “bar shifts”, “kitchen shifts”, “toilet check-ups” and “matter out of place shifts (tidy up)”. It creates a very unique atmosphere when everyone helps to make the festival happen.

Week 3: During this week, you will be taking the festival apart, and cleaning up the festival area. We aim to leave no trace behind. During this week, we will also briefly evaluate the festival and your entire experience before the farewell party.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Accommodation:
Everyone should bring a minimum of a sleeping bag, a pillow and a towel.
From experience, the festival knows that some people might not want to stay in tents due to temperatures (normally ranging from 10-25 degrees celsius, with a few days of heavy winds). Therefore, there will be an option to borrow a mattress and sleep inside in a nice big room with others at the festival site.
Most people will be sleeping in tents - festival style! We recommend that you bring your own tent. We will try to get tents for everyone who wants one but we can’t make promises before we know how many need one.

Food:
Everyone will take part in cooking, according to a plan we decide on together, as part of the work you will do during your stay. During the festival, food will be served to you, three times a day. All the food is vegan, sometimes with vegetarian options.

Bathroom Facilities:
The festival has toilet facilities and showers - and a lovely beach just a few minutes' walk away. The sea is lovely. There is also a washing machine and kitchen facilities for snacks.

Lage und Freizeit

The festival is located by the sea, in the countryside, but only five kilometres from Ebeltoft – a lovely small city with 8000 inhabitants and known as a great tourist destination.

In your spare time, there are many things to do and see. The festival has some bikes so it will be possible to bike and explore the surrounding area (maybe not everyone at the same time). Some days it might be possible to borrow a car to take a trip, to see the Mols National Naturpark or visit Denmark's second-largest city, Aarhus (45 minutes away by car / 120 minutes by bus).

Your Work Camp leaders will help you and the group with organizing activities in your spare time. It is free to enjoy the beautiful nature of Ebeltoft, but some activities might require an extra charge. The host will not cover additional charges. We aim to have 5-7 days off, during the 22 days of Work Camp. We work hard and play hard - and strive to accommodate everyone's personal wishes during this intents, fun and exciting period with great people all around.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

Grobund Build Festival is a 7 day-long festival with over 600 guests, camping, concerts, workshops, talks and co-creation.

The festival's goal is to enhance learning, craft skills, cultural exchange and push new movements for co-creation. Our goal is to create a sustainable festival with a focus on zero waste and reconstruction.

At the festival, everyone has an active role and everyone creates the experience. Anyone can choose to build their own projects or join other projects. We provide for free, all the professional electric powertools and recycled building materials that you will need. When someone builds something, they can choose to take it home with them or donate it for charity.

Though the main aspect of the festival is creating, the festival is also so much more, featuring workshops during the day and live bands and DJ ́s every night.

The festival is only a small project of a much greater one. The large project called 'Grobund' (meaning fertile soil) was founded by 160 people who received money to buy a large factory and 10 hectares of land, with the ambition of making a new off-grid house and eco-village. At the factory, they are building 30 off-grid houses and have started 30 companies within the past four years.

When you are at the Work Camp, you will encounter many people at our factory working on many interesting projects. You will together with many others help to make one project - creating the best possible festival for everyone to enjoy.

We have no more COVID19 restrictions in Denmark. This basically means that our everyday lives are back to normal, with no masks, assembly bans and test requirements. There are still a few restrictions on entry into the country, but if you are vaccinated or recently infected, then there are currently no isolation or test requirements. Be aware, that airlines might have requirements regarding COVID-19. Though our restrictions are gone, we know that COVID19 is still a problem worldwide. We want to assure you, that you will be safe at the camps, personal boundaries will be respected, tests are still an option for no extra cost and you can wear a mask if you wish.
We will of course also inform you of any changes.

We are looking for people who are open-minded, social and self-motivated. We expect that you treat both nature and others with respect. Arbeit

In the Blue Mountains, the main tasks will be maintaining the slopes and preparing them for the next ski season. The municipality and several sports associations run lodges and mountain huts there and they may also need some renovation jobs, such as painting and/or cleaning.
The working plan is flexible and it will depend on the needs of our local hosts. No previous experience is necessary, but the work is demanding and requires a good physical condition. As it is outdoor work, volunteers shall be ready to adapt and be flexible with the working and free-time schedule, as, depending on the weather, we may not be able to perform some of the tasks or activities planned. The landscape is raw and volunteers need to be motivated to work outdoors and to experience isolated mountain areas.

The camp happens around the summer solstice, when the sun hardly sets and the nights are almost as bright as the days. The bright nights are magical and staying awake and enjoying the beautiful surroundings is a unique experience. During the time of the camp participants will have the opportunity to experience the midnight sun as there are 24 hours of light even if the sun does set for short periods of time.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

SEEDS volunteers will stay in one of the ski lodges in the mountains and sleep in a shared dormitory. Please bring your own sleeping bag.

Volunteers will receive food supplies and be in charge of the cooking and cleaning activities. Do not forget some traditional/typical food, drinks, music and recipes from your country for the intercultural evening.

Lage und Freizeit

The skiing areas of Bláfjöll and Skálafell are both about 30 minutes driving away from the city. The Blue Mountains are south-west of Reykjavík and Skálafell is located to the east of the city. Both areas have great slopes for downhill skiing and snowboarding as well as tracks for cross-country skiing. Bláfjöll has 16 lifts and Skálafell has 4 lifts. The sports area in Skálafell is situated at an elevation between 380 and 700 m.
The Blue Mountain range is situated near the ring road and stretches from the capital area to the south-western lowlands. The highest mountain in the range reaches 600 m and in 1968 the district became a very popular skiing resort among Icelanders. The areas are excellent for recreation, not only for alpine and cross country skiing, but for other outdoor activities as well such as hiking and mountain biking. Nature lovers are certain to find something to their liking, but it’s important to be careful crossing the rugged lava fields because of the numerous caves underneath.

The locations of the camp are remote and isolated, even though still close to the city. Free-time activities in the surroundings are mostly hiking and trekking.
Some excursions (Golden Circle, South Shore, Hot River Hike, Vesturland Trip or Snaefellsnes) can be arranged at discount fares for SEEDS participants in case there is additional free time after work or during the weekend.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

SEEDS volunteers will again be working with the Reykjavík municipality in two of the main outdoors skiing and recreational areas in the capital region, Bláfjöll (or the Blue Mountains) and Skálafell.
In Skálafell the ski slopes are turned into a bike park during summertime and mountain bike enthusiasts can nourish their passion. The main tasks will include renovation and maintenance work on the bike trails; mainly raking and scraping them up. Other possible tasks may be related to general cleaning of the area.

Anreise zum Treffpunkt

Meeting and departure time to the camp will be 16:00 (4 pm) on June 29 from the meeting point at SEEDS’ office in Reykjavík. After the camp we will return to Reykjavík in the afternoon of July 10.

Weitere Infos

Participation fee EUR 200 (Euros). The fee can either be transferred in advance via bank transfer, or paid for on arrival. The fee includes the transport from Reykjavík to the campsite and back (on the first and last day of the camp).

Anforderungen

English will be the language in the camp; basic conversational skills are needed.
Volunteers shall be prepared for physical outdoors work and should bring good working shoes and clothes. In the mountains, the weather can change quickly and drastically. Even if it is summer, the weather can be cold or rainy. We recommend bringing good walking shoes/boots, warm and/or waterproof clothes (underlayers, overcoats, scarves, gloves and hats) as most of the tasks and activities take place outside.

Arbeit

You will work about 35 hours per week, the work is varied and you will get the support of the staff. We work on : - Renovation of the buildings - Gardening - Organization and participation on the collective life (cooking, cleaning...) - Hosting groups and individuals (mostly in the summer) - Leading workcamps during the summer, you will receive a training for that. Two seminars organized by the french agency and one volunteering meeting with all the volunteers of Solidarités Jeunesses.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Le Créneau is located in Montcombroux Vieux Bourg in the Allier department, Auvergne region in the center of France. The site includes a main house, the two small towers, a farmyard, a vegetable garden, some othsome other workshops and it is sorrounded by the forest. It‘s a very isolated place, situated 6km from the “bigger“ village with shops. As a volunteer you will share a house with other volunteers! It is of high importance to commit into daily life, as in a big house-share, because the house will look like its inhabitants, it's your home sweet home for a few months!

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

Solidarités Jeunesses (SJ) is a national movement of non-formal education and is composed of a National Secretary (Paris), and eight regional delegations across France. Our delegations host international volunteers throughout the year. Each regional delegation is unique, but all of the activities organized benefit the local community and share common ground: - gather people from different culture and social background to participate in social, ecological and cultural development. - contribute to the integration of people with fewer opportunities. Each project is dedicated to actions of solidarity and collective living. We believe that cultural exchanges are a key for personal learning and for the volunteer to experiment and undergo personal development.

Arbeit

The main work to be done will be to main a mural wall of 40 square meters with the local youngsters of Pedrezuela. Therefore we are looking for volunteers with good knowledge of painting and mural art so if you can prove your experience it will be and add value.
Volunteers will prepare a draft design TOGETHER with locals during the first two days together with local youth workers.
Still, other activities for local social animation will be proposed such as games in English for children at the swimming pool, visiting and interacting elderly, supporting a local animal shelter, or helping to clean litter from nature.

The youth council of Pedrzuela saw the need to train, raise awareness and sensitize the young people of the municipality on the importance of developing artistic activities, conserving the natural heritage of the area, as young people in the municipality are often unaware of the diversity and the natural patrimony of Pedrezuela.

The aim of the work camp is to collaborate with the town hall in this task; to teach and sensitize the young people through mural art and other activities to develop the idea of citizenship.

The volunteers will take a very active role in the development of the project. They can be creative and bring in their own ideas and knowledge.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Accommodation will be in the local hostelry college which is a nice building that during Winter is used as a school. There will be several bathrooms and mattresses to sleep but the volunteers have to bring sleeping bags. It includes a nice kitchen to cook.
Showers will be located in the sports center in another building which will not be close, but you can also use the showers in the swimming pool which will be free access.

Lage und Freizeit

Furthermore, the towns around Pedrezuela can be visited, such as Buitrago de Lozoya, with its historic castle. As the town is located in the community of Madrid, some daily trips can be organised with the decision of the group to the city of Madrid in the free time .

Arbeit

The aim of this camps is that volunteers communicate with children in English, to encourage them to overcome the fear of speaking in a foreign language through non-formal educational methods and setting.

In first two days of the workcamp participants will get a formation by Fundacion Cruz de los Angeles in order get to know the local environment and to understand the legal context of working with children under state protection (that includes signing confidentiality contracts and to comply with some restrictions). Children we're going to work with are aged from 6 to 18, therefore our group will be split into two non-fixed teams, rotate and organize different activities according to the kids age group. We will prepare activities and materials in English on different topics, such as archaeology, music, food, animals. With the older kids – teenagers, we will spend time in the afternoons, and mornings are for the younger kids.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

The accommodation will be done In a house situated near Colunga. Volunteers will stay apart from the group of children. Food will be provided by the Fundación Cruz de los Ángeles. Breakfasts will be prepared by volunteers, lunch and dinner in the house or together with kids, depending on daily activities.

Lage und Freizeit

Volunteers will have 2 free days in the middle of the camp to discover the area
and do any activities and entertainment they like. Optionally they can join the kids
during these two days as well.

The province of Colunga lies on the Cantabrian Sea and is located in the north of Spain, which is considered as the green area of Spain (lots of rain, trees and plants).
Playa de la Griega is beautiful place and it is the nearest beach to the center town of the province, Colunga. This place is famous for one particular thing - here the footprints of dinosaurs were found. East of the beach on the cliffs is the famous and spectacular site of dinosaur footprints. The enormous size of these footprints, some of them reach 1.30 meters in diameter, allows it to be considered ones the largest footprints discovered so far. Village Lastres was listed as one of the most beautiful villages in whole Spain and definitely deserves a visit, actually you're going to live nearby. Going to the lighthouse (Faro de Lastres) will offer you some great coastal views.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?
