SEEDS volunteers will take on a variety of activities, depending on weather conditions and the needs of our partners including working in the forestry section and vegetable greenhouses in the EcoVillage, as well as participating in a nationwide project to raise awareness of ocean pollution, plastic waste, and engage the group in hands-on cleanup efforts in the area, allowing volunteers to make a direct impact!

The camp is based at Alviðra, which offers a range of activities to connect people with nature, such as community gardens, wildlife workshops, school programs, and hikes. As part of the camp, volunteers help maintain the center through tasks like gardening, renovating the house and other projects such as removing old fences to protect wildlife, marking walking paths, and potentially do forestry work like trimming or planting trees.

This camp combines learning, sharing, hands-on work and fun. No previous experience is needed. Volunteers should be prepared to share environmental issues from their home countries and be ready to spend time outdoors. Volunteers should be ready to adapt and be flexible with the work and free-time schedule. Depending on the weather, we may not be able to perform some of the activities as planned.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

ACCOMMODATION: SEEDS volunteers stay in an old farm which has been transformed into an environmental education centre. The facilities are basic with an equipped kitchen, dining and living room, bathroom, shower and a washing machine. Volunteers sleep in shared rooms, with up to 6 people per room. Please bring your own sleeping bag and towel.

Volunteers will receive food supplies and will be in charge of cooking and cleaning. Please note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. Do not forget to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music, games or movies from your country for the intercultural evening. Please be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.

Lage und Freizeit

The place is registered as natural Icelandic heritage; the nature, vegetation and birdlife is rich in variety and quantity. The volunteers can enjoy outdoor activities in a peaceful and beautiful location with a small stream and a pond nearby. Hiking trails with maps about cultural heritage can be found throughout the area, which is a popular attraction among both foreign and local visitors.
The nearest town, Selfoss, only 10 minutes-drive away, with 6500 inhabitants, is a centre of commerce and small industries where you find a geothermal swimming pool, shops, museums, cafés and bars.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

Arbeit

This camp allows volunteers to learn about global and local environmental issues through non-formal activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits, as well as to contribute directly to environment protection by joining outdoor cleanup tasks.
These cleanup tasks may be arranged in partnership with the above mentioned organisations or run solely by SEEDS. We also aim to involve the local community, so some of our events may be open to the public. We hope participants will learn how to plan and carry out their own trash cleaning projects back at home. This project is based on similar activities around the world, where outstanding results have been achieved with volunteers. Volunteers can choose one of the two options below, included as hands-on volunteering activity in the camp:
A day trip combining a visit to the Hellisheiði geothermal power plant, a trash collection in the area, and the Hot River Hike, a hike up a valley filled with hot springs where one can bathe.
A day trip to the Reykjanes Peninsula, combined with a coastal cleanup in the area.
Please note that all activities are subject to weather conditions and the availability of our partners.
This camp combines learning, sharing, hands-on work and fun. No previous experience is needed. Volunteers should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and be ready to spend time outdoors, walking medium to long distances during the cleanups, and during other activities such as sightseeing. Since a part of the project happens outdoors, volunteers should be ready to adapt and be flexible with the work and free-time schedule. Depending on the weather, we may not be able to perform some of the activities as planned.

Lage und Freizeit

The Snæfellsnes Peninsula is a region in Western Iceland, located between Reykjavík and the
Westfjords. The area is a popular destination amongst tourists and locals alike.
The Peninsula is known for incredibly beautiful and dramatic landscapes, and a common knowledge amongst Icelanders is that the area is the only part of Iceland where you can see all of the unique natural elements in one place. In other words, the Snæfellsnes Peninsula has everything to offer, from untouched lava fields, tall volcanoes, mystical glaciers and black beaches to white beaches, a National Park and hazardous cliffs along the coastline.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

Vir'Volt stands for InteRnational VolunTeer Village (in French). For 10 years, the organisation has been located right in the middle of nature, near a regional park. Hosting youth from all around the world, learning how to understand and appreciate differences. To plan and act together to protect the environment. To create a positive impact on the surrounding environment and people living there or simply passing by. Here lie our goals for this future village, which each year, is built thanks to youths who come and contribute, with solidarity as their driving force. Vir'Volt also aims to become fully ecofriendly and sustainable, which is reflected in our campsite; yurts and teepees as rooms, permaculture farming and gardening, water saving projects, reducing and reusing waste. This small village will become great without sacrificing or damaging the surrounding environment, whilst always searching for better and more eco-friendly ways of living.

You will take part in the construction of these two cabins. Following a period of collective reflection and discussion with people with knowledge of wooden construction, you will implement the construction plan drawn up collectively, to build one cabin to be used as changing rooms and another for the sauna. In this way, you'll be taking part in the construction of a convivial space that you'll be able to enjoy right from the end of your stay. 25h/week

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

The workcamp will take place in a particularly isolated area, where you will be accommodated on the REV site in individual tents (remember to bring your sleeping bag). You will have access to sanitary facilities close to the camp. What's more, if weather conditions deteriorate too much for camping, a shelter a few meters away will be available. Meals will be provided and prepared in turn by participants.

Lage und Freizeit

The workcamp will take place in the hamlet of Finiels, belonging to the commune of Pont-de-Monvert, located on Mont-Lozère in the heart of the Cévennes. The nearest town is Mende with 16,000 inhabitants.
Far from France's metropolises, Lozère is nonetheless a very dynamic region. The region's activities revolve around local festivities, concerts and unspoilt natural areas (mountains, rivers, forests).

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

The aim of the workcamp is to build a sauna, a leisure and relaxation facility, close to the Finiels colony, which welcomes volunteers from the REV - Réseau d'entraide volontaire workcamps every year. Building a sauna on the site of the volunteer workcamp serves a dual purpose. Firstly, the sauna, a Scandinavian tradition, is a convivial place where people can meet, chat, warm up and relax at the same time. As the hamlet of Finiels lies at an altitude of 1541m, summer nights can be chilly. Volunteers taking part in this project, as well as those who will follow, will be able to benefit from this infrastructure, which will make the summer evenings warmer, while at the same time helping to strengthen the bonds within the groups. In addition, such a place, which will also be open to the residents of Le Pont-de-Montvert, will provide an opportunity for meetings between international and local volunteers. The REV's vocation is not only to organize collective workcamps, but also to participate in the life of the area, by offering activities to local residents and meetings with workcamp volunteers. The sauna, which will also be open in winter, will be an opportunity to keep the association's premises alive even when the workcamps are over.

Anreise zum Treffpunkt

Please arrive on 25/06 between 4pm and 6pm at Génolhac train station (30450).

Weitere Infos

This workcamp is funded by the European Solidarity Corps. There is no registration fee. Transport costs will be reimbursed up to a lumpsum fixed according to the travelled distance. Pocket money of €7 per day will be distributed.

Arbeit

This summer workcamp in Penáguila invites motivated teens to contribute to the recovery of the local natural and cultural heritage. After a recent fire damaged part of the Phytoclimatic Route leading to the historic Jardín de Santos, volunteers will help restore this unique botanical area through tasks such as gardening, environmental clean-up, painting, manual restoration, and replanting.

In addition, participants will support the local museum, help with maintenance tasks, and engage in creative work to beautify public spaces. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to connect with the community by organizing a weekly visit to a local senior center, sharing moments and activities with the elderly.

The project is coordinated in close collaboration with the Penáguila Town Hall, so tasks may also include other helpful activities according to the town’s needs. This workcamp offers a meaningful and hands-on way to make a difference, learn new skills, and enjoy the peaceful beauty of this charming mountain village.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Volunteers will stay in a basic apartment with bunk beds, a kitchen, and bathrooms. The apartment also has access to a pool for relaxing during free time.

Food will be provided by De Amicitia. Volunteers will have the opportunity to cook together with the campleaders, creating meals as a team.

Lage und Freizeit

Tucked away in the heart of the Alicante mountains, Penàguila is a small but enchanting village that offers a perfect blend of nature, culture, and tranquility. Surrounded by olive trees, almond groves, and pine forests, it provides an ideal setting for volunteers looking to disconnect from the fast-paced city life and immerse themselves in authentic rural Spain.

Penàguila is known for its rich historical heritage, featuring a charming old town with narrow cobblestone streets, stone houses, and remnants of medieval walls. It’s a peaceful and welcoming community where locals live at a slower pace, and nature is just a few steps away.

One of the highlights of the village is the Jardín de Santos, a 19th-century botanical garden that once flourished with exotic species and romantic pathways. Although partially damaged by a recent fire, it remains a symbol of local pride and will be the focus of restoration during the volunteer project.

For leisure, volunteers can enjoy:

Nature walks and hiking through the Phytoclimatic Route, which connects the village to the botanical garden and offers stunning views of the surrounding valley.

Cultural visits to the local museum, which showcases the village's agricultural and historical past.

A trip to the nearby Safari Aitana, a drive-through animal park with giraffes, elephants, and lions.

Weekly intergenerational visits to the local senior center, promoting cultural exchange and community bonding.

Volunteers will find Penàguila to be a place where they can connect with nature, engage with the local community, and contribute to a meaningful environmental project—all while enjoying the serene beauty and simple joys of rural Mediterranean life.

Anforderungen

The extra fee has be paid by card ( in the exceptional cases we can accept bank transfer as well) 3 weeks before the camp as a confirmation of participation.

If we don't recieve the fee and the flight/bus tickets of the volunteer, we will consider that she/he will not attending to project and we will give opportunity to other volunteers that are on the waiting list.

This season, we have secured a partnership with Beniconnect, a transport company that will provide direct transfers for volunteers attending TEEN workcamps in Alicante province. Participants will be picked up directly from the airport arrivals and taken to the workcamp location in a private minibus (8 to 14 people per group).

In previous years, transportation has been a significant challenge, as public connections to the locations where our workcamps take place are not very reliable. We believe that this new solution will make the journey much smoother, safer, and more comfortable for everyone.

The aim of this workcamp is to preserve the natural reserve area surrounding called "Fonts del Río Algar." More concretely, the work will be mainly dedicated to parks and gardens maintenance or “arboretum”: removing the over-grown grass, weeding some parts of the grasslands and the edge of the woods, maintaining footpaths. Volunteers will also take part in the clean-up of some areas of the reserve where building waste has been found, and if time allows it, they will carry out some painting works around the centre.

There will be other additional tasks to change the daily routine of the volunteers. Volunteers might participate in projects using recycled materials, such as sculptures, murals, mosaics, crafts, artistic activities, or other initiatives requested by the local town hall. Also, here may be a day of social work with the youngsters of the town in the local youth center, depending on availability and planning.

The visit is a route through a circuit of 1.5 km in length along, where you can walk through the bed of the river Algar, see the spectacular waterfalls and the numerous sources, the "tolls" (pools of water) where you can take refreshing swims in crystal clear water, the old dam, the imposing century-old canal and ditches still in use.

Apart from the Waterfalls, there are other interesting sites in Callosa like the cultural heritage of the town, old narrow streets in the center. Also, there are several beautiful hiking routes around Callosa. One of the most spectacular places is El Fort de Bèrnia.

Not far from Callosa, you can visit a town called Guadalest which has an ancient castle. Also, Altea, another beautiful town near the sea can be visited. The beach is not far from the house and somedays, the volunteers can take a trip to the beach of Altea.

arrivals area holding a sign that reads: "DE AMICITIA VOLUNTEERS."

Please note:

The meeting time could be slightly delayed, but not later than 6:30–7:00 PM. Please inform us if there is any delay.

If needed, the driver will contact you using the phone number you provided.

A minibus will transport all volunteers directly to the workcamp site in Callosa d’en Sarrià (approx. 1 hour).

Upon arrival, the campleaders will be there to welcome you and guide you through the introduction.

Make sure your phone is on and reachable upon arrival at the airport.
On July 8, transportation will be provided from the workcamp location to Alicante Airport, departing at 8:00 AM. The group is expected to arrive at Alicante Airport (ALC) between 9:00 and 9:15 AM.

Please do not book an early flight, as it will not be possible to arrive at the airport earlier. Unfortunately, the driver or campleaders cannot assist with check-in procedures, so volunteers should be prepared to handle that independently.

Arbeit

The main activity of this project is to construct a pavilion for the disabled people. The pavilion is without the furniture. The pavilion needs to have a concrete fundament. The area around the pavilion should be decorated with green.
The second activity regards the contribution of the conservation of the National Park.Like all old, open cultural landscapes, the heathland requires targeted maintenance in order to continue to exist and provide a habitat for the typical species. This requires the targeted removal of overgrowth. As only certain plant species are removed, this is usually done by hand. This also protects the habitat, which is not accessible to machines.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

The accomodation is a stone building, located in the wood. It has separate rooms for boys and girls including sanitation facilities. The bedrooms have airbeds. You need to bring your own sleeping bag. A kitchen is available with all facilities, including a washing machine. Outside there are many places for organising a bbq. There is a separate building for indoor activities.
Volunteers as a group have to organise their food and drinks. Cooking the meal from your homecountry is recommendable.

Lage und Freizeit

The beautiful Environmental Protection Station is located at the east side of the Grenspark on the German side. The Wildenrath House can look back on a long history. Haus Wildenrath or the Höfchen Wildenrath was a Fronhof of the Count of Wassenberg. The associated Wildenrath settlement was first mentioned on September 30, 1911. Since this is not a founding certificate, it can be assumed that the settlement and the then Haus Haus Wildenrath originated between 900 and 1000 AD. https://www.naturschutzstation-wildenrath.de/
Volunteers will discuss the recrational program together with camp leaders and the host organisation. For example, they can explore the area by bike, go swimming, visit cities like Roermond, Aachen. A van is available during the weekend.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

In the summer of 2025, SIW International Volunteer Projects will organize two two-week activities for 14 young people, mainly from Europe and neighboring countries, in the De Meinweg National Park to work on the nature management of this area. The aim of the project is to build a pavilion in the park for disabled people, followed by a great opening party, partly organized by the disabled. In addition, the aim is to give international young people the opportunity to get acquainted with this special area and to have them contribute to its sustainable maintenance. In addition, SIW wants to stimulate a dialogue between the volunteers and local residents about mutual intercultural awareness.

The partner organisation is Naturschutzstation Haus Wildernrath, as part of the organisation Grenspark Maas-Swalm-Nette. https://www.naturschutzstation-wildenrath.de/

Anreise zum Treffpunkt

From Airport Schiphol, or Düsseldorf (Germany), you can easily catch a train to station 'Roermond'. From their a van will pick you up to the accomodation.

Arbeit

The work will mainly involve collaboration with the local Town Council and other community partners, focusing on gardening, painting, and various renovation tasks around the area. Volunteers will contribute to the upkeep and improvement of public spaces by engaging in manual tasks such as restoring community facilities, cleaning, decorating, and maintaining green areas.

Additionally, participants may be involved in supporting environmental volunteering initiatives, including helping us maintain our educational beehive panels and participating in local ecological activities like trail cleaning, community garden support, or beach litter removal, depending on current needs.

The project is dynamic and will adapt to the specific requirements of the municipality and local associations at the time of each camp. Tasks will vary from group to group and may depend on what previous teams have completed. Volunteers should be ready for a hands-on, flexible experience and excited to contribute wherever help is most needed.
There are different Casa Jazmín camps running from the end of June through August. Each group continues the work of the previous one, creating a collaborative effort across the summer.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

The volunteers will stay in a volunteer house, with four rooms with several bunkbeds and bathrooms. They will share rooms with four to six other volunteers. The house includes a nice kitchen in which the volunteers will cook for themselves in the guidance of the camp leaders.
You can either bring your own sheets or a sleeping bag. There are beds and pillows, sheets and pillow covers but it will be convenient that the volunteers bring their own.

Lage und Freizeit

Sanet is a small town in the southwest of Spain close to Dénia (communidad de Valencia). It lays in the beautiful countryside, surrounded by hills which are great for hiking - there are a lot of hiking trails to discover. There is a local swimming pool available and Dénia is only 5 minutes by cars.
The house is located right in the middle of town, so there are great opportunities to interact and socialize with the locals and to truly experience the Spanish countryside.
Furthermore, the volunteers can make excursions to Ondara and El Vergel, local towns close to Sanet. The surrounding villages like Benimelli and Ràfol d'Almunia can also be visited. There will also be day trips to the beach which is about 15 minutes by car from Sanet.

Arbeit

Participants will be involved in interventions of environmental enhancement, such as: maintenance of footpaths, cleaning of pasture lands and preparing hay for the deer. During the acitvities they will be guided by the expert volunteers of Consorzio Montagna Viva, who will also provide the necessary tools. The volunteers will be working for approximately 5 hours per day, depending also on the weather.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

For the first and the last night, volunteers will be hosted in the parish of Delebio. For the rest of the days they will stay in the mountain hut of Alpe Dosso (1600 m). The diet will be vegetarian.

Lage und Freizeit

The camp will take place in the gorgeous Orobie Valtellinesi Mountains Park. Specifically, the volunteers will stay in Alpe Dosso, but they will also explore the surrounding area both during the working activities and during their free time. They will have the chance to take part in some beautiful hiking trips in the park.

It is important to acknowledge that the mountain hut is quite isolated from the town and it will only be possible to visit Delebio on the first and last day.

The closest airports are: Milan Bergamo Airport, Milano Malpensa Airport and Milano Linate airport.

From there you can take shuttle buses or a train called Malpensa express (from Malpensa airport) that will take you to Milano Centrale station.

From there you have to take the train to Tirano (not Torino!!) and get off in Colico railway station. null

PROJECT: Rock Farm is a therapeutic growing project
open to everyone, restoring both the landscape and people through an innovative market garden model. We grow fruit and vegetables using regenerative, permaculture, and no dig principles, with absolutely zero pesticides or herbicides. We are at the cutting edge of embedding productive crops in a forest garden ecosystem, which sinks a large amount of carbon into the soil instead of emitting it and provides the backbone of our sustainability and therapeutic curricula. Retreats, camping, workshops and horticulture courses are also available at Rock Farm, especially for marginalised people.

Rock Farm is part of One Church Brighton, an organisation with several social projects in and around the Brighton area. Rock Farm grows produce on six acres of community land in West Sussex, offering access to horticultural therapy and community gardening for a range of volunteers and vulnerable groups.

Arbeit

This project will be very rich in what will be done during the stay. Firstly, volunteers will make and then position houses for birds. Also, they will prepare info-tables (boards) that will be put on some locations (local eco-center and few other important points). The stars of the project, owls, will have their winter areas arranged, since they need to do the general cleaning from time to time (luckily for them, volunteers will do that instead of themselves; what can we say-they are noblesse of the area and that oblige...the others, hehe). Arranging of the river coast, as well as some cleaning of the local beach will also take place. For the end, formation of local eco-garden in the bio-center "Green Zasavica". Can anybody wish for something more from a beautiful workcamp?

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

The accommodation will be in the local bio-center and the food will be prepared from domestic ingredients (you will see, it is a very fertile zone, of what locals are very proud demonstrating their happiness and creativity in their numerous meals, to conclude-Nobody will be hungry, right the opposite, hehe).

Lage und Freizeit

The project will be situated in the cute village of Zasavica (pronounced: "Zasavitsa"). It is typical agricultural settlement in this part of Serbia, since there are houses, taken-care-of gardens in front, big fields for different land cultures in the back. It is not big, but it has its charm.

In extremely near surrounding is the "Special natural reserve of Zasavica", protected area with huge number of species of flora and fauna (Ranunculus lingua, Hottonia palustris, as well as rarer Triturus dobrogicus, to name just a few)! Also, we shouldn't forget classics like Eurasian otter (Lutra lutra) and beaver (Castor fiber), which was re-introduced in 2005. into these lands after 100 years of absence. It is good to mention that the cheese made of donkey milk is being made in the reserve, so if you get the chance to taste just a piece (we will see what we can do about that), know that you will be offered with the gift of 70 euros (hehe, really, 1 kilo costs around 1300 euros at the market).

Interesting can be that the village is only 12,67 (depending on location) km away from Sremska Mitrovica, once one of 4 capitals of the mighty Roman empire (together with Rome, Constantinopolis and Mediolanum-Milano; it was called Sirmium back then). There are still some remnants in city museums that remind the passenger of glorious past, although it should be said that the town itself even today looks really beautiful (it is just not that big as the rest of its imperial companions, hehe; who ever heard of Sirmium outside of Serbia, Yugoslavia and history-professors, not even them all know; well, you might now have even the chance to visit it). Fun fact-9 Roman emperors were born there.

For the end, important river of Sava passes by, so numerous beaches can be visited regularly, to have some refreshment in the hot days!

Needless to say really, but keep in mind that locals will be very happy to welcome you, so patience with language barriers and good mood are always nice to have!

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

Association "Rural center Owl" is an organization founded in 2014. with the goal of doing good to both, local community in the municipality of Sremska Mitrovica and to all the species, which are very present in this rural area (the accent is, you will guess, on birds, and especially one, what is its name...it is connected with wisdom...wait, wait, I have it...owl, yes, exactly, hehe). In order to achieve that they participated in many projects with countless partners from abroad and from Serbia. Their activities are usually education of youth (but not only, we can always learn something new), numerous volunteering actions of cleaning the surroundings, monitoring the birds, counting the specific ones, promoting rural tourism with respect to the local eco-system.

Young Researchers of Serbia (YRS) was founded in 1976. Our main aims are environmental protection and education, promotion of sustainable development, work with young people in an international context, promotion of scientific creativity and voluntarism and its values. Voluntary Service of Serbia is a volunteer exchange service center founded in 1990 as one of the sectors of YRS.

Anreise zum Treffpunkt

It is very easy to reach Sremska Mitrovica from Belgrade (one hour with busses or trains). All precise informationS will be in the Infosheet.

Anforderungen

No specific requirements needed, but it will make your life easier if you bring sunscreen, adequate clothes and mosquito repellent as it gets hot and humid during the summer in Serbia. All in all, just that and smile!
