Heilsbronn is a town of 9,300 inhabitants, located in the idyllic Bavarian region of Franken (Franconia). As it sits along one of the routes to the famous pilgrimage city of Santiago de Compostela in Spain, it is frequently visited by tourists as well as pilgrims.
Heilsbronn has some historic buildings, including traditional half-timbered houses and the unique "Heilsbronn Abbey"—a 12th-century Cistercian monastery and local cathedral. In the city centre you will find supermarkets, various shops, pubs, youth centre, a barbecue area, and other amenities. Additionally, the town can offer free access to the outdoor swimming pool for your group. Nature lovers will enjoy several hiking trails in the beautiful surrounding landscape.
The nearby cities of Nuremberg, Bamberg, and Rothenburg are also within easy reach and can be visited on weekends using public transportation.
