The Kloto craft centre was created in the late 1960s and combines training, manufacturing and selling of art objects.
There is a wide variety of handicrafts: wood carvings, pottery, batiks (prints on canvas, T-shirts and loincloths, etc.) and macramé.
The programme offers the opportunity to all volunteers willing to contribute their experiences, to learn and to exchange in the field of handicrafts with the staff and learners of these centres. It will be possible to learn local skills in art drawing, ceramics, woodcarving, dyed batik, loincloth weaving, painting, sewing, etc., but also to share one's passion and to experience a real craft and artistic exchange.
The volunteer will (among other things) :
✔ Assist the centre's teachers in their daily work with young learners
✔ Learn local techniques
✔ work with young apprentices and young artists and help them develop their creativity and talents.
✔ Participate in workshops on pottery, sculpture, sewing, hairdressing, jewellery making, painting, batik, etc.
