Commit to highlighting a park, listing a variety of trees, in the south of Finistere, in order to give a boost to this area! For the second year, the municipality of Briec is organizing a volunteer workcamp on its territory. This small town wants to give a new life to a wooded area in order to make it a place for walking and relaxation for the inhabitants. Located near the town centre, this park is a place which needs a new look, your tasks will consist in cleaning the site to allow easier access, building different wooden installations to brighten up the course and even defining different routes in this little green area.

Logement et nourriture

You will sleep in two-person tents (please bring your sleeping mat and a warm sleeping bag) near the live show venue, called Arthemuse, which is located about 500 m from the worksite. You will have access to toilets, showers and a fully equipped kitchen within the Arthemuse cultural centre. The group activities and meals will take place in a room made available to the group. The group will be sharing the cleaning chores and preparing meals together. The budget will be allocated to the camp leaders and you will participate in the shopping and preparation of meals, prioritizing products from the market and local producers.

Situation, loisirs

Briec is a small town located in the territory of Quimper Bretagne Occidentale, in the county of Finistere. It is located in the north, a few kilometres from Quimper. It is a very beautiful town in which there are various shops, also multiples activities can be offered to you, such as an open air cinema.
This town is located not far from the sea, therefore you will have the opportunity to get there from time to time, using public transport.

For the second time, the municipality of Briec wishes to host an international workcamp on its ground, in cooperation with its technical services but also the youth service of the territory. This medium-sized town in Brittany now hosts more than 5,000 inhabitants with a great local dynamic.
On the following link, you can discover the work realised by the volunteers from Concordia on the first year of Partnership with the town of Briec:

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting point is scheduled at QUIMPER train station on the 06/07 at the end of the afternoon. The exact meeting time will be given with the infosheet which will be sent at the latest 4 weeks before the start of the workcamp.

From PARIS, you can take the train from Montparnasse train station, regular departures are scheduled throughout the day. The trip last about 4 hours.
If you are coming first by plane, remember that you will need some time to commute from the airport to the train station, therefore we recommend that you arrive early enough for you not to rush and have a stress free travel.

The trains are open to booking about 4 months before the departure dates, accessible on the following website:

Commentaires additionnels

You will have to bring warm clothes (trousers, sweater, socks, closed shoes, rain clothes) and light ones (skirt or shorts, t-shirt, open shoes) because weather can change very suddenly in Brittany. You can literally experience all four seasons in one day! Please also take with you working clothes, gloves and shoes in addition to your swimsuit. Bring a warm sleeping bag and an insulated camping mat as nights are sometimes fresh and wet.

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.
