Work

The main works are planting vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, radishes, etc at the eco-farming camp and organize leisure time activity with kids from Children’s home. Also, volunteers may work on making fences to protect the farm, etc. Quite tiring but let's enjoy it.

Accomodation and food

Summer house or Mongolian traditional tents which is GER (traditional tent). SB! CV with a local staff.

Location and leisure

45 km from Ulaanbaatar. Place name is “BUHUUGIIN HURAL”. The sight is just unbelievably beautiful, typical Mongolian plain.

Project hosted by

Since 2000, volunteers from all over the world have participated in summer programs designed to help improve the vegetable farm at the Childcare Center of Mongolia (Children's Home). However, between 2014-2018 they decided to discontinue their farming activities due to a lack of human resources and the unavailability of farming land. In 2017, our organization managed to rent farming land for the Children's Home, and they resumed their farming activities on this new land. As a result, our cooperation with their farm restarted in 2018. One of the main roles of international volunteers will be assisting with the farming work at the Children's Home.

Directions to meeting point

According to the request/arrival information we will provide paid pick up service to all volunteers.

Additional comments

To like farming/physical works and be flexible/ adaptable. Mongolian speakers are welcome!

The main work will be to teach English, song, and games to the kids which can be
advantageous for them to find jobs and also to exchange with international volunteers, in the future. Also, some renovation works. We may also do some workshops with them for Asian common actions of NVDA for forests.

Accomodation and food

Youth hostel. Need to bring a sleeping bag! Cooked by volunteers, the Shower will be available every day.

Location and leisure

Ulaanbaatar. One-third of the population in the country (3.5 million) live in this capital city.
Don't worry about the weather, we will work and live in the warm inside.

Project hosted by

Will be organized together with MCE (Mongolian workCamps Exchange) and one of the secondary schools in the suburb of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. Mongolia has 12 years Secondary school system. Until 1990 kids/students were studying only Russian as a second language. But since 1990 we changed our political and economical system. Since this time we have chance to study the 3rd language. But English studying is still very poor and MCE is always focusing to improve it.

Directions to meeting point

By request of volunteers we will pick up all volunteers up from the airport according to their Arrival information.
