Welcome to Bourges City! Elected European cultural capital for 2028, the city is planning on hosting several cultural events in the next 3 years. This international workcamp is one of them! This project is a perfect opportunity for any artists, beginner or confirmed, who wish to express themselves in a collective work of art: a collective fresco for the local sport's facility!
If you want to improve the lifestyle of people from Bourges by embellishing the city, this project is for you !

Logement et nourriture

You will be accommodated in tents (provided by Concordia) close to the worksite! Group life will be organized nearby in a room provided for the group. Together, you will participate in organizing group life (cleaning, activities, etc.) and take turns preparing meals using products you will purchase locally. The activity leaders will have a budget to cover these expenses, but you will be responsible for preparing the menus and doing your own shopping. A vegetarian diet using local and seasonal products will be preferred, while respecting the participants; dietary requirements and allowing you to discover local cuisine.

Situation, loisirs

Bourges city is located right in the middle of France! It is famous for the remarkable cathedral in the city centre, where the workcamp will happen. As it is quite a big city, you will enjoy the local outings possibilities such as shops, restaurants and bars. If you enjoy nature, you can also discover the swamps and take a walk along the Yèvres river. Let’s not forget the national holiday on the 14th of July which usually comes with local festivities (music, firework, etc.)

There will be two other workcamps happening in the city at the same time. Intercultural dynamic is guaranteed !

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting will take place in BOURGES train station on the 3rd of July, end of the afternoon.
The exact meeting time will be communicated with the infosheet, which we will send maximum 4 weeks before the beginning of the workcamp.

Help restore a historic cobbled path at the entrance to the town of Bazas, in the middle of the Entre-deux-Mers vineyards!
You'll start this restoration project by clearing the weeds between the stones and then repairing the joints that have been destroyed through time. The section you'll be working on corresponds to one of the historic entrances of the town, which is surrounded by walls. The path goes under a stone gate, the Porte du Gisquet. You will be supervised by a technical guide who will teach you various traditional methods.

Logement et nourriture

You will be accommodated in individual tents, with sanitary facilities, a kitchen and a communal living room, in the sports facilities of the town of Bazas. You will share the various collective tasks (cleaning, activities, etc.). A budget will be allocated to the leaders, and you will help with shopping and preparing meals, giving priority to seasonal and local products. We want to encourage vegetarian eating with local and seasonal products, while respecting participants' diets and discovering local cuisine together. WIFI is available and you will be able to hand-wash clothes.

Situation, loisirs

Bazas is a commune in south-west France, in the Gironde department, situated in the middle of a rich vineyard area. You'll have many opportunities to explore the surrounding castles, villages and vineyards. To the north-west, around 1h30 drive away, you'll find the city of Bordeaux, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The town of Bazas is the capital of the “Bazadais” region and a former bishopric, it has preserved a wealth of monuments, some of which date back to the Middle Ages and are symbolized by the Saint-Jean-Baptiste cathedral.
During the summer season, the town of Bazas organizes numerous events and village festivals, which you'll have the chance to take part in. With its market, cathedral, cafés, craftsmen and narrow streets, Bazas is a lively village! There are many natural sites in the area, including spots for kayaking and canoeing.

Partenaire

The town of Bazas has a project to restore this footpath that gives way to the town’s center. It is a popular route into the town for local residents, but it is now difficult for people with reduced mobility to use it. It is also part of the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage trail, used by tourists who come to explore the city and its famous cathedral.

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting point is the LANGON train station on 03/07 in the late afternoon.
The exact time of the meeting will be communicated with the infosheet, which will be sent out no later than 4 weeks before the start of the project.

Several direct trains (approximately one per hour) leave Paris for Bordeaux. The journey takes between 2 and 3 hours.

If possible, please consider using low-carbon transportation (train and bus rather than airplane) for a sustainable international workcamp.

Train reservations can be made approximately 4 months before departure on the SNCF website, link below: https://www.sncf-connect.com/

Commentaires additionnels

Bring a sleeping bag, a thick mattress, work clothes, walking shoes, warm clothing and rain gear, a torch, a swimming costume and sun cream.
If you would like to share some of your culture (recipes, traditional stories, unusual objects, music, etc.), don't hesitate to bring a small piece of your country or region in your rucksack.

Remarques

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues arise on the project, volunteers will have to pay for them, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

Dive into a project combining nature, heritage, and collective engagement alongside local residents!
Your main mission will be to bring new life to the riverbanks: cleaning the edges, cutting back vegetation, clearing overgrowth, and managing waste in order to preserve this natural environment. Depending on the progress of the work, you may also take part in clearing an old railway line, a task that will help highlight and enhance this historically significant site.
In addition to the outdoor activities, one day will be dedicated to a cultural project: you will help move the local museum by transporting artworks and paintings to their new premises. As well as another day, to meet local inhabitants in Doullens Beach.
A varied workcamp, combining nature and culture, encouraging meaningful encounters with local residents and active involvement in the life of the territory!

Logement et nourriture

You will be accommodated in individual tents within the municipal stadium, providing a dining area and a sheltered retreat in case of bad weather. Sanitary facilities will be available in an annex building,
Collective living will be at the heart of this experience: you will share daily tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be managed by the animation team for grocery shopping, and you will be encouraged to use fresh, local, and seasonal products for healthy and delicious meals.

Situation, loisirs

Doullens is located in the northern part of the Somme, at the crossroads between Amiens, Arras, and Abbeville. This strategic position places it within easy reach of historical and cultural landmarks, including the stunning Gothic cathedral of Amiens, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and the vibrant city of Arras, known for its beautiful squares and underground tunnels.
Surrounded by picturesque countryside, Doullens offers a peaceful setting perfect for outdoor activities such as hiking and exploring the region’s rich history. Volunteers will have the opportunity to visit nearby sites like the Doullens Citadel, Samara archeological park or explore the remnants of World War I battlefields. During the summer, local events, markets, and cultural festivities like Doullens beach (sand without water) will add to the experience. With the support of the team, outings and activities will be organized to fully enjoy the region’s heritage, nature, and warm community atmosphere.

Partenaire

The EPCC of the Somme is a long-standing partner of Concordia. After an initial collaboration in 2019 at the Samara archaeological site, followed by a successful workcamp in 2025 at the Citadel of Doullens, this partnership continues with new heritage enhancement projects. Building on this positive experience, the partners have decided to go further this year by developing initiatives that encourage even more interaction with local residents.
The town of Doullens and the EPCC are fully committed to welcoming volunteers and will do everything possible to offer a friendly and enriching experience. New ideas have been introduced to strengthen connections with the local community, including meetings, activities, and shared moments throughout the project. This workcamp is a unique opportunity to actively contribute to the preservation of a remarkable historical site while enjoying a meaningful cultural and human experience.

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting is planned at the PLACE SAINT MARTIN in DOULLENS, 8th July at the end of the day. The exact time of the meeting will be communicated with the info sheet, sent at least 4 weeks before the beginning of the workcamp.

From PARIS, regular trains (around 1 per hour) leave from the Gare du Nord train station for Amiens train station (1hour trip).
From Amiens, a bus is available every hours in direction of Doullens

The trains are open to booking about 4 months before the departure dates, accessible on the following website: https://www.sncf-connect.com/en-en/

If you are coming first by plane, remember that you will need some time to commute from the airport to the train station, therefore we recommend that you arrive early enough for you not to rush and have a stress-free travel.

If possible, please consider using low-carbon transportation (train and bus rather than airplane) for a sustainable international workcamp.

Join us on the coast to help protect the dunes, beaches, and the National Nature Reserve! Your job will be to inform visitors about how to take care of these areas, especially during the nesting season of little plovers, to protect these fragile birds and their habitats.
Volunteers will prepare and run information stands, including at the Baie Sonore festival, both before and during the event. You will also lead fun activities and educational walks for holidaymakers at local campsites. These actions will help share knowledge, encourage people to respect nature, and raise awareness about fragile coastal ecosystems.
This project is a full experience in environmental education. You will learn how tourism affects natural areas and why protecting biodiversity is important. You will play an important role: your work will directly help visitors understand and care for this special natural area with dunes, beaches, and protected zones.
Come discover a unique environment and help protect it while learning skills in animation and environmental education!

Logement et nourriture

You will stay in a tent at the Rue campsite. There will be a large communal tent for meals and gathering, with a space to stay dry if it rains. Toilets and showers are available at the campsite.
Living together is an important part of the experience: everyone helps with daily tasks and prepares meals together. A budget will be used to buy food, trying to focus on fresh, local, and seasonal products for healthy and balanced meals.

Situation, loisirs

The project is in the Baie de Somme, a beautiful area known for its rich biodiversity and varied landscapes: dunes, salt marshes, wetlands, and mudflats. The Bay is a Grand Site of France and attracts many visitors, making public awareness important.
In addition to beach and dune work, volunteers can visit famous local sites like the Samara archaeological park or World War I battlefields. In summer, there are local events, markets, and festivals to enjoy.
The Marquenterre Park is a major natural reserve for migratory birds and wetlands. Your project will help protect biodiversity and teach visitors how to care for fragile ecosystems.

Partenaire

The Baie de Somme Joint Syndicate is a new partner of Concordia. This summer, they offer four different projects, all focused on raising awareness about protecting coastal nature and biodiversity. Volunteers will discover the area, meet locals, and take part in meaningful activities.
Local communities and the Syndicate will help make your stay safe, fun, and educational. You will meet residents, holidaymakers, and local organizations, giving you a real experience of life in the area and promoting intercultural exchange.

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

This is a high-altitude project, so please read the description carefully before signing up. You will be asked to provide a motivation letter related to the project before your registration is confirmed!

Help restore an old mill in the village of Freissinieres!
Nestled in the heart of the mountains, the village of Freissinieres is home to an old mill dating back to the XVIII century. You will be contributing to the second restoration project for this mill, located along the Biaysse torrent and on the route taken by many hikers.
Daily routine : Get ready for a 30-minute morning hike from your camp through the forest. You will cross a wooden bridge over the Biaysse torrent and make one last effort to climb the hill before arriving at the site: the Viollins mill.
As work on the site began last year, you will have the opportunity to complete the building by restoring the four surrounding walls. Regular work on scaffolding, using traditional construction techniques. You will, of course, be assisted by professionals.
But the project doesn't stop there! You will also be responsible for retracing the history of the Viollins mill through an artistic project that you will carry out in collaboration with the village residents.

Logement et nourriture

You will stay in a dedicated area in the heart of the forest where individual tents will be pitched (and provided). Meals will be prepared outdoors. The group will have to build a clay oven for bread, and cooking will be done over a campfire. To keep food cool, a bucket in the river will serve as a refrigerator. You will share various collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the facilitators, and you will participate in shopping and meal preparation, with priority on healthy, local products. A recipe booklet will be provided to encourage responsible purchasing and sustainable eating.

Situation, loisirs

The municipality and valley of Freissinieres are located in the Hautes-Alpes (05) at the gateway to the Ecrins National Park, in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region. The Viollins mill construction site is located downstream from the town in the direction of Freissinieres. It is situated on the banks of the Biaysse torrent.
In winter as in summer, this sheltered valley offers a wide variety of activities: exploring the region and its specialties, hiking, outdoor sports, meeting locals and engaging in intercultural exchanges, and more.

Partenaire

This project is being carried out in collaboration with the Freissinieres municipality and the Ecrins National Park. The municipality wishes to restore the Viollins mill, a building that is part of the municipality's rural heritage and could also become a shelter for walkers.
The municipality will be responsible for installing the kitchen area, purchasing materials and equipment, preparing the site, applying for building permits, and storing the materials needed to build the framework.

Dive into history while taking part in a dynamic collective project at Saint-Gerald’s Castle!

Built in the 13th century and rediscovered in 1974, the remains are now entering a new phase of restoration, inviting volunteers to contribute to their revival. The aim is not only to restore an ancient site but also to enjoy a meaningful experience: learning construction techniques, working as a team, exploring an impressive natural environment, and spending two weeks with other young people from diverse backgrounds. The workcamp will combine hands-on tasks, exchanges, and discovery in a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.
This participatory project will help create reception areas for future visitors. Supervision will be provided to guide volunteers in learning restoration techniques. The work will be adapted to different levels of experience, blending technical tasks with discussions on the site’s history and conservation. Come help bring new life to the remains of Saint-Gerald’s Castle and contribute to the vitality of the surrounding area!

Logement et nourriture

You will be accommodated in an apartment in the heart of Givors, not far from the worksite. The accommodation consists of shared rooms with three to four single beds. It includes sanitary facilities, some accessible directly from the rooms and others located on the floor. A common room will be available for shared meals and social moments.
Please bring a sleeping bag suitable for a comfort temperature of about ten degrees Celsius. WiFi will be available nearby. The apartment is equipped with a washing machine.
Meals will be prepared collectively in a fully equipped kitchen. Participants will take turns preparing meals, cleaning, and handling other communal tasks. The diet will be primarily vegetarian, using local, seasonal, and short-supply-chain products while respecting individual dietary needs. A market takes place three times a week at the foot of the building, allowing for a regular supply of fresh products.

Situation, loisirs

Givors, with a population of 20,000, is located in the Lyon metropolitan area, about 20 kilometers from Lyon, easily accessible by public transport. The town is strategically positioned between the Rhone Valley and the Pilat mountain range, offering both urban and natural settings.
With a rich industrial and working-class past, Givors has a varied architectural and cultural heritage, blending historical remains with contemporary achievements. Nearby, the city of Vienne, with its remarkable Gallo-Roman sites, and Saint-Etienne, the design capital, add to the region’s many cultural discoveries.
Crossed by the ViaRhona, a cycling route linking Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean Sea, Givors is also an ideal starting point for walks that combine urban spaces with nature, including orchards and gardens. The Pilat Regional Natural Park and the Monts du Lyonnais, close by, offer hiking opportunities through diverse and preserved landscapes.
During the stay, leisure activities will be organized according to the group’s preferences and pace. Hiking, cycling, and river swimming will allow participants to explore the area’s natural beauty. With support from the local partner, bicycles will be available to facilitate travel and promote eco-friendly exploration. Cultural visits may also be arranged to explore local heritage and emblematic sites.

Partenaire

You will take part in the fourth collaboration between the city of Givors and Concordia, a partnership launched in 2022 to restore and promote the remains of Chateau Saint-Gerald. This workcamp represents an important step in a shared commitment to protect local heritage through several upcoming projects.

This initiative is built on close cooperation between the city of Givors, its Cultural Affairs Department, and a specialized architect working specifically on the site’s restoration. The municipality also wants this workcamp to be open to the local community: the association Les Amis de la Colline, young people from the Givors Local Youth Mission, the local shopkeepers’ association, and residents will all be involved throughout the stay, creating opportunities for exchange and mutual discovery. Volunteers will have the chance to share their cultures, meet people from the area, and take part in a friendly, collective atmosphere that goes beyond the work itself.

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

Meet at 6:00 PM at Givors Ville train station. The station is easily accessible by trains from Lyon’s Part-Dieu or Perrache stations in just 20 minutes. These trains run frequently.
Reservations can be made now on the SNCF website via the following link: https://www.sncf-connect.com/. This is a TER train, so tickets are valid for any train throughout the day.

Lyon Saint-Exupery is the closest airport. From Paris CDG, you can easily reach Lyon Part-Dieu or Perrache trains stations.
If possible, please consider using low-carbon transportation (train and bus rather than airplane) for a sustainable international workcamp.

Commentaires additionnels

Make sure to bring sturdy, closed-toe work clothes that can get dirty. You will sleep in individual beds, so don’t forget to pack a sleeping bag with a comfort temperature of 10°C, a fitted sheet, and a pillowcase. For outings, waterproof clothing is recommended. Remember to bring sun protection, including a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen, as well as a water bottle and a swimsuit for swimming in pools or water sports centers. If you would like to share a part of your culture, feel free to bring items representative of your country or region, such as photos, culinary specialties, musical instruments, your favorite playlist, or games to engage with other participants.

Remarques

Help us build the roof of a mountain refuge hidden in the heart of southern France!
Join us in the village of Puy-Saniere to breathe new life into a hikers' refuge perched above the stunning Serre-Ponçon lake.
Nestled in the wilderness of the Southern Alps, this rustic cabin was once used as a refuge for hunters in the Ecrins massif. Today, surrounded by pine forests and overlooking turquoise waters, it serves as a shelter for hikers and is a symbol of rural heritage and mountain solidarity.
Last year, a group of young people tackled the walls of the cabin, which is missing a frame and a roof, and that's where you come in!

Logement et nourriture

Accommodation and meals:
You will be staying at a camp behind the city hall in Puy-Sanieres, where individual tents (provided by CONCORDIA) will be pitched, along with a large marquee containing kitchen equipment and a living area. Access to permanent toilets and solar showers. There is cell phone reception but no WiFi.
Meals will be prepared in the covered kitchen. You will share various collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the facilitators and you will participate in shopping and meal preparation, with priority on healthy, local products.

Puy-Sanieres is a commune in the south of France located near the southern flank of Mont Guillaume (2,552 m), at the southernmost tip of the Ecrins massif. It is located in the Hautes-Alpes department in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur region, near Lake Serre-Ponçon.
The hut site is located a few kilometers from the center of the village of Puy-Sanieres on land mainly devoted to gentle tourism activities.
The work camp will be punctuated by leisure activities, such as discovering the region and its specialties, hiking, swimming in the lake and other sports activities, as well as activities to meet the local population.

Partenaire

Together with the Parc des Ecrins, Concordia has decided to set up an initiative in the Puy-Sanieres area in the heart of the mountains. This Concordia project is part of an overall project by the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur delegation to work in the transalpine and Franco-Italian zones. Our aim is to highlight the need to restore dry-stone huts for workcamps.

Come and experience a total disconnection in a small village in Normandy!

The municipality wishes, by hosting this workcamp, to energize the town, to set up a European and intercultural project for the inhabitants and to enhance the local heritage.
Chicheboville has a church, which has been closed to the public for many years due to the deterioration of the building. This year your mission will be to restore the north facade of the village church: staking of the mortar, repointing with lime mortar (masonry technique for old buildings). You will be accompanied by competent animators throughout the project to help you step by step in the learning of these techniques!

Logement et nourriture

You will sleep in individual tents (bring your own warm sleeping bag and comforter), and will be directly connected with nature. Communaul life will be organized in the school of the village, 15 minutes walk from the workcamp. You will share the different collective tasks and prepare meals together, which will mostly be vegetarian. A budget will be allocated to the leaders, you will participate in the shopping and the preparation of the meals, by prioritising healthy and local products. Bonus : you will be given access to bike to make your way around!

Last but not least: you're also welcome to share your own recipes, for the pleasure of the other participants.

Situation, loisirs

Chicheboville is a French commune located in the Calvados department in the Normandy region, in the West of France. It is located 25km south-east of Caen. The Cote de Nacre, and its famous seaside resort of Ouistreham, are only 30 minutes away, promising beautiful beach outings and long swims!

Partenaire

For the third year in a row, the commune of Chicheboville is welcoming Concordia's volunteers with open arms on an international workcamp!

The inhabitants are very involved to make you discover the Norman culture and a remarkable patrimonial environment. They will be very happy to exchange with people from all over the world. Exchanges between locals and volunteers are guaranteed: be sure to be won over by the warm atmosphere of the town!

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting point is set at the MOULT-ARGENCES station in the late afternoon.
Several trains with connections leave from Paris Saint-Lazare to Moult-Argences station. The journey takes about 3 hours.

If you are coming first by plane, remember that you will need some time to commute from the airport to the train station, therefore we recommend that you arrive early enough for you not to rush and have a stress free travel.

The exact time of the meeting will be communicated with the roadmap, sent at the latest 4 weeks before the beginning of the work.

If possible, please consider using low-carbon transportation (train and bus rather than airplane) for a sustainable international workcamp.
Train reservations are available approximately four months before departure on the SNCF website, via the link below: https://www.sncf-connect.com/

Come experience life in a castle in a magnificent corner of Normandy! This is the first year of partnership between Concordia and the association Un Nouveau Monde, which promotes 18th-century Norman heritage.
By hosting this workcamp, the association hopes to showcase the farmhouse adjoining the Chateau de Lantheuil. The goal of the farmhouse restoration is to create an eco-museum dedicated to Norman history within a few years.
This year, you'll be starting the farmhouse restoration! Your task will be to clear the grounds: the garden and main house have been heavily overgrown for several years. You'll also have the opportunity to participate in organizing and running the first "Harvest Festival," which will take place on August 22nd.

Logement et nourriture

This is Versailles! You'll be staying at the “Gite de la Ferme des Chataigniers” (Chestnut Farm Gite): https://bayeux-bessin-tourisme.com/fr/hebergement/chambres-d-hotes/vienne-en-bessin/la-ferme-des-chataigniers.
However, the gite's maximum capacity is 10 beds. So, for those who enjoy being close to nature, you can camp! In that case, don't hesitate to bring a good sleeping bag, as the nights can be chilly. The tents are provided by Concordia. The gite is 6 km from the construction site, but a minibus will be available for transportation! You'll share the various group tasks and prepare meals (mostly vegetarian) together. A budget will be allocated to the activity leaders, and you'll participate in shopping and meal preparation, prioritizing healthy and local products. You're welcome to share your recipes if you wish.

Situation, loisirs

Pont-sur-Seulles is the town where Lantheuil Castle and Farm are located. It is situated in the Calvados department in the Normandy region. It is 25 km southeast of Caen and 20 minutes from Courseulles-sur-Mer, where you can swim in the English Channel!

Our partner, Un Nouveau Monde, specializes in organizing historical shows and reenactments related to the history of Normandy: https://unnouveaumondeennormandie.com/

The association has many local volunteers who are delighted to welcome an intercultural group and will be happy to introduce you to the region!

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting point is at BAYEUX train station on Monday, August 3rd, in the late afternoon.

The exact meeting time will be provided with the itinerary, which will be sent no later than four weeks before the start of the project.

Several trains depart from PARIS Saint-Lazare station to Caen. The journey takes approximately two hours. You will then need to take a TER regional train to Bayeux. Some trains also run directly to Bayeux.

If possible, please consider using low-carbon transportation (train and bus rather than airplane) for a sustainable international workcamp.

Train reservations are possible approximately four months in advance on the SNCF website, link below: https://www.sncf-connect.com/

This first journey is the first step of the adventure, so be sure to enjoy it!

Discover the town of Saint-Maximin and take part in a project at the heart of local community life!
Following several successful initiatives in the area, a new challenge awaits you: the creation of two petanque areas, true places for meeting and socializing, located both in a neighborhood of the town and near the church.
This workcamp has a special dimension, as it aims to revitalize public spaces and encourage interaction between residents, especially with local young people who will be actively involved in the project.
Throughout the workcamp, you will take part in different stages of the construction: preparing the ground, marking out the areas, leveling the surfaces, and setting up the pétanque courts. The goal is to create four accessible, sustainable, and welcoming playing areas for everyone.
But this project goes beyond manual work! You will also be involved in co-creating activities and moments of exchange with local youth: pétanque initiations, social events, intercultural exchanges… plenty of opportunities to build connections and bring these new spaces to life from the very beginning.
A rich collective experience combining practical work, community engagement, and shared moments, leaving a lasting and meaningful impact on the town!

Logement et nourriture

Your accommodation will be located in the garden of the "Maison pour Tous Nelson-Mandela", a bourgeois-style house from the end of the 19th century, which hosts the communal music workshops, exhibitions as well as cultural and leisure associations.
The group will have access to the kitchen of this house. You will sleep under individual tents. Large tents will be installed for the collective life. The infrastructures of the municipal stadium (300 metres away) will offer access to showers with a separation between girls and boys. You will share the various collective chores and prepare meals together, prioritising local products from the market.

Situation, loisirs

Saint-Maximin (3 000 inhabitants) is located in the department of Oise, 70km from Paris. The region has a rich historical heritage that you can discover nearby: The Chantilly Castle, the Compiegne Imperial Palace or the Pierrefonds Castle. Each year, in addition to outings, leisure activities are scheduled (St Leu d'Esserent water sports centre, swimming pool...).
Activities are planned with the youth service of the town to include you in the activities planned during the summer like the July 14th celebrations and meetings with the local population.

Partenaire

The small town of Saint-Maximin, nestled at the heart of the stone quarries of the South of Oise, has an uncommon cultural heritage (troglodyte houses, old open-air quarries, mushroom beds, etc.) that it promotes in its museum "La Maison de la Pierre".
Today, there are still five stone quarries in use in Saint-Maximin. The stone extracted from them is mainly used for the restoration of historical monuments (Paris City Hall or the Arc de Triomphe). The quarries of Saint-Maximin also provide the clay used for the tennis courts of Roland-Garros. An initiation to stone cutting is planned during your stay!

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting is planned at the CHANTILLY-GOUVIEUX train station on August 05th at the end of the day. The exact time of the meeting will be communicated with the info sheet, sent at least 4 weeks before the beginning of the workcamp.

From PARIS, regular trains leave from the Gare du Nord train station for CHANTILLY-GOUVIEUX (30-minute trip).

Commentaires additionnels

Remember to bring work clothes for the work site as well as tight shoes. As the accommodation is under tents, remember to bring your sleeping bag as well as a floor mat or a camping mattress for more comfort.
Don't forget your bathing suit in case you are going to swim in the pool or at the St Leu d'Esserent water sports centre. You can also bring back specialities from your country, photos, musical instruments, in short what you like and want to share on this workcamp, either with the local population or with the group!

Remarques

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues arise on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.
The vaccines proofs (a note from the doctor or a copy of the vaccines) is MANDATORY, see list in the Medical Fact Sheet. Unvaccinated volunteers will not be accepted.

Welcome to Dannes, a village nestled between sea and forest, where you will take part in a unique environmental project in the heart of the Mont Saint-Frieux natural area. This exceptional site, shaped by wind and time, is a fragile ecosystem that requires active protection and careful management.

This year’s workcamp focuses on the maintenance and restoration of wetland and dune environments. Your main tasks will include mowing and clearing wetland areas to preserve their ecological balance, cutting back willow growth, and removing dense vegetation along hiking trails. These actions are essential to maintain biodiversity, support local wildlife, and ensure safe access to the site.

You will also take part in the upkeep and reopening of hiking paths by clearing overgrown sections and improving trail accessibility for visitors. Alongside experienced environmental professionals, you will learn practical conservation techniques and discover how to manage sensitive natural habitats.

Fully immersed in this outstanding landscape, you will actively contribute to the protection of a valuable natural heritage while enjoying the proximity of the coast and surrounding wilderness. A meaningful experience combining environmental action, learning, and discovery!

Logement et nourriture

You will be accommodated in individual tents in the park of the former chateau of Dannes, just a few meters from the beach. One of the chateau’s rooms will serve as a communal living space. Sanitary facilities will be available on-site, though without hot water, while showers will be accessible at the town’s stadium, a 10-minute walk away. You will share daily collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the camp leaders, and you will take part in grocery shopping, prioritizing healthy and local products.

The EDEN 62 association is a long-standing partner of Concordia, committed to the preservation and enhancement of natural spaces in the Pas-de-Calais region. In 2019, we already collaborated with them on the first European Solidarity Corps (ESC) team project, an innovative and enriching experience. More recently, in 2025, a first European project carried out together was a great success, confirming the strength and quality of this cooperation. Building on this positive momentum, this partnership is now being renewed to further develop international workcamps in a spirit of cooperation and knowledge sharing.

As a key actor in environmental protection, EDEN 62 works to safeguard local biodiversity through the management of sensitive natural areas, public awareness activities, and concrete field actions. Their commitment to sharing, environmental education, and the preservation of natural heritage fully aligns with Concordia’s values. In continuity with this collaboration, the municipality of Dannes has chosen to become even more involved this year by proposing additional activities and moments of exchange with local residents, in order to foster stronger interaction and community participation throughout the project.

This project thus marks the return of a valuable collaboration, with the shared ambition of combining environmental action, intercultural exchange, and civic engagement.

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

Take part in the transformation of a community space in the heart of Saint-Quentin! Located just in front of a primary school, in a priority neighborhood, this small local park needs a fresh start to become a pleasant, welcoming, and safe place for residents—especially children.
Your tasks will include earthworks to level certain areas, redesigning the pathways to improve accessibility, and repainting urban furniture to give the park a new and vibrant look. Through these activities, you will make a concrete contribution to improving the quality of life in the neighborhood.
This workcamp will also involve many interactions with local residents and children from the nearby school, offering opportunities to share meaningful moments and even co-create ideas for the space. A great experience combining community engagement, practical work, and enriching human connections!

Logement et nourriture

You will live within the town’s Youth Hostel. You will have access to its shared kitchen and its sanitary facilities, individual cabins with toilets, showers and washbasins (women-only and male-only).
You will share the collective life chores and will prepare meals together.
Foot, available bikes and the local bus network will be the main means of transportation so the group will move in an eco-friendly way.

Situation, loisirs

Saint Quentin is a town composed of around 50 000 citizens. Located in Northern France, the city is 1h45 away from Paris and 1h away from Amiens, where you will be able to discover the richness of its historical heritage: the largest cathedral in France, the Saint-Leu district, the house of Jules Verne, the floating gardens of the Hortillonnages…
The accommodation is within the youth hostel of the city of Saint Quentin; the group will use bikes as the main means of transportation. You will be in the heart of the city and near the construction site for all the activities.

Partenaire

Saint-Quentin is rich thanks to its natural and built heritage. The city is labelled City of Art and History and has a very rich Art Deco heritage visible all throughout the city centre. As for the environment, the city also has a large national nature reserve, that of the Isles marshes, and the Somme river running through the city takes its source a few kilometres away. The youth department of the town hall is eager to help you to discover the town.

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting point is scheduled at SAINT-QUENTIN train station at the end of the afternoon on August 14. The exact meeting time will be given with the info sheet which will be sent at least 4 weeks before the start of the workcamp.

From PARIS, you can take a train from PARIS - Gare Du Nord train station, regular departures are scheduled throughout the day (one train per hour). It is roughly a less than two-hour trip.

Help restore an old mill in the charming village of Isle, in the heart of the forest! The Mill of Meynieux is a 5-10 minutes drive away from the town center, in the middle of the forest, beside a stream. It's a very naturally rich area, at the crossroads of several hiking trails.
Your mission will be to continue the rehabilitation of the site which started 5 years ago with other international volunteer workcamps. You will be specifically working on the mill run, which consists of small walls created to divert the stream and bring water up to the mill to make it work! You will be clearing weeds, strengthening the walls and rebuilding the parts of the wall which have been deteriorated by time. Some additional missions are also planned, such as building wooden furniture (picnic tables, etc.) and improvements to the surrounding area, alongside the main project to restore the mill run.
You will be supervised by a technical leader who will teach you various traditional masonry techniques.

Logement et nourriture

You will be accommodated in individual tents provided by Concordia, which will be pitched on a natural area on the premises of the local stadium. You will have access to sanitary facilities, a kitchen and a communal space, in the town’s communal sport facilities. You will be sharing various collective tasks (cleaning, cooking, team activities, etc.) in order to facilitate the management of the workcamp. A budget will be allocated to the campleaders, and you will help with the shopping and preparation of meals, giving priority to seasonal and local products. We want to encourage a vegetarian diet on this workcamp, but will accommodate participants' various diets and we will attempt to discover the local cuisine together. WIFI is available on site, and you will be able to wash your clothes by hand.

Situation, loisirs

Isle is a French town located in the Haute-Vienne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, close to the city of Limoges, famous for its porcelain, but also rich in history and heritage.
The town is proud of its exceptional natural environment. In the town centre, you will find flower gardens, green spaces and leisure facilities, alongside local shops and services. Just a few minutes walk away, Isle reveals a beautiful rural area, shaped by the two valleys of the Vienne and Aurence. Woods, meadows and farms mingle with the many local castles and manor houses in the municipality, while also enjoying the urban dynamism offered by the city of Limoges, just 5 minutes away.

Partenaire

The town of Isle has big plans to restore their old rundown mill and the miller's house, located in the middle of the town’s beautiful forest. To do so, the local community has taken many measures to improve the site. This is the sixth year that Concordia has been involved with the preservation and restoration of this site and volunteers have been working hard to restore the mill’s irrigation system. Ultimately, the town wants to bring this place back to life, and be able to reactivate the mill ! Through this project, you'll be helping to preserve the town’s old mill, while spending time in nature, and by sharing a human and cultural experience with the town’s locals.

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting point is scheduled at LIMOGES-BENEDICTINS train station on the 14th of August at the end of the afternoon. The exact meeting time will be given with the infosheet which will be sent at the latest 4 weeks before the start of the workcamp. On the last day (28/08), the departure time is usually set in the morning, before 12h.

From Paris, you can take a train from Paris - Gare d’Austerlitz train station, regular departures are scheduled throughout the day to Limoges (about one train every hour). The trip lasts around 3 and a half hours.

If you are coming by plane first, remember that you will need some time to commute from the airport to the train station, therefore we recommend that you arrive early enough for you not to rush and have a stress free travel.

Remarques

Some of the work might imply working in water, so it's HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to bring closed hiking type shoes, if possible water resistant, for this workcamp.
