Travail

Join a unique project by participating in a construction site on the coast of Brittany!
The town of Pleurtuit welcomes you for its first international workcamp and needs you to embellish the church in the town center ! You will work on the renovation of the church walls, but also and above all, you will actively participate in the preservation of local endangered bird species that nest in the church. The project is to renovate the building without disturbing these rare birds.
A great opportunity to discover the Emerald Coast, to have unforgettable encounters and to actively participate in the protection of biodiversity!

Logement et nourriture

You will sleep in two-person tents (provided by Concordia) in the municipal camping area, only a 5-minute walk away from the worksite ! The group activities and meals will take place in a room dedicated to the volunteers. The group will be sharing the different tasks of collective life together. A budget will be allocated to the group leaders and you will participate in the preparation of meals, run errands from the market and local producers, and prioritize healthy and seasonal products.

Situation, loisirs

Pleurtuit is a French town made up of around 7,000 residents, located in the north of the department of “Ille et Vilaine”. It is located 15 minutes away from the city of Dinard and 25 minutes away from Saint-Malo. It is also very close to the sea where you can go on many outings.
If you want to know more about Pleurtuit and its history, it's here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8z_VnyZx744

Partenaire

The elected officials of the municipality are very attached to their heritage and are delighted to welcome a group of young internationals to animate their territory for this first workcamp with Concordia!
The environmental associations are also very satisfied with the development plan for the construction site: indeed, if the construction site takes place in September, it is to avoid disturbing birds nesting. These same associations will be happy to share their knowledge of these local species and activities are planned to allow you to learn more.

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting point is set at the DINARD train station. The exact time of the meeting will be communicated with the infosheet, sent 4 weeks before the camp starts.
Train reservations can be made approximately 4 months before departure on the SNCF website, link below: https://www.sncf-connect.com/
You will have first to get a train from Paris to RENNES, and then take a BreizhGo bus to get to Dinard: https://www.ter.sncf.com/bretagne/se-deplacer/prochains-departs/dinard-87478230
Please consider using low-carbon transportation (train or bus, rather than airplane) for a sustainable international workcamp.

Commentaires additionnels

You will have to bring warm clothes (trousers, sweaters, socks, closed shoes, rain clothes) and light ones (skirts or shorts, t-shirt, open shoes) because the weather can change very suddenly in Brittany. You can literally experience all four seasons in one day! Please also take with you working clothes, gloves and shoes in addition to your swimsuit. Bring a warm sleeping bag and an insulated camping mat as nights are sometimes fresh and wet.
You can bring board games, a music instrument or any other object from your country/region that you wish to share with the group. Don’t hesitate to share your culture as much as possible with the other members of the group!
On the last day (19/09), the departure time is usually set in the morning.

Remarques

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

This project is supported by the program European Solidarity Corps for young people between 18 and 30 years. It is open to all volunteers that fit the ESC criteria.
The participation to the ESC volunteering teams is subjects to several principles and conditions, presented on the ESC webpage: https://europa.eu/youth/solidarity/mission_en

  • Volunteers do not have to pay any fee (no sending, nor participation fee) to attend the project;
  • Volunteers need to enroll in the PASS, the European Solidarity Corps Portal; Concordia France will organise their matching, on the online system, with the volunteering project;
  • Volunteers will receive pocket money, calculated on basis of 8€/day, once they arrive on the project in France;

Come and experience a unique project in Avricourt, in the heart of Picardy!
Join us in restoring the charming church of Avricourt, a true local heritage gem that withstood the challenges of World War I.
Building on the work of previous teams, you’ll help renovate the church’s interior.
On the agenda: traditional masonry, joint repairs, pillar restoration, and plasterwork.
And there’s more! Depending on your skills and interests, surprises await you throughout this exciting project.

Logement et nourriture

You will have the village hall at your disposal as a place to live, which includes a well-equipped kitchen (community oven, dishwasher, big fridge etc.). Individual tents will be provided as well as a fallback solution in the village hall in case of bad weather. Please note that only one shower and one toilet will be available on site. A budget will be allocated to the group leader and you will participate in the grocery shopping and in the preparation of meals, prioritising healthy products from local producers.

Situation, loisirs

Avricourt is located 15 km away from Noyon, in the North of Oise. In a central location in Picardie, you can visit Amiens, its cathedral and its “hortillonnages” (floating gardens), Compiegne and its imperial palace, Noyon and its historical centre. You can also hike in the surrounding countryside among cereal fields and small pasture valleys. If you are a nature lover, you could even discover the educational beehive with the school children and the beehives of a small local producer. A concert given by the local band in the church is planned the day before the departure.

Partenaire

The village of Avricourt is a historical partner of ours. With just 500 residents, this small community goes above and beyond to warmly welcome volunteers: shared meals, dinner invitations, homemade jam, and fresh vegetables from the garden are just part of the tradition here.
Plenty of interactions await you! Together with the support of the animation team, you’ll also have the opportunity to organize events and activities for the villagers and the local school children.

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting point is scheduled at NOYON train station at the end of the afternoon on August 29. The exact meeting time will be given with the infosheet which will be sent at least 4 weeks before the start of the workcamp.
If you are coming first by plane, remember that you will need some time to commute from the airport to the train station, therefore we recommend that you arrive early enough for you not to rush and have a stress-free journey. (Paris Airports : Paris-Beauvais, CDG, Orly)

Come and discover Toulouse, the Ville Rose, from a different angle. In partnership with the association Un Œil Sur Ma Ville, you will restore part of the collective memory of a district of the city. For two weeks, you will meet the inhabitants with the aim of collecting local memory: finding old documents, collecting their words and creating audio, visual, pictorial content... You will be able to give free rein to your creativity to create content from your finds. During the heritage and matrimony days, you will be asked to present your finds to the local inhabitants.

Logement et nourriture

You will sleep in individual tents (provided by Concordia) with access to sanitary facilities, showers, and a kitchen. Everyone will take turns preparing meals and managing the living space (organizing schedules, cleaning, shopping, etc.). Tasks will be shared collectively, and meals will be prepared together (mainly vegetarian). A budget will be allocated to the team leaders, and you will participate in grocery shopping, prioritizing healthy and locally sourced products. For your comfort, a washing machine will be available on site, and there will be access to Wi-Fi.

Situation, loisirs

Toulouse, the city of aeronautics and its famous red-brick charm, offers an unforgettable experience! In July, the city comes alive under blue skies and warm summer weather. Don’t miss the iconic Place du Capitole, the vibrant local markets, and of course, a taste of traditional Toulouse cuisine — especially the legendary cassoulet! You’ll also have the chance to explore the city’s parks and gardens, perfect for a stroll or a picnic with the group.

Come and cycle to promote local artistic and cultural heritage !

For several years now, workcamps have been organised in Port-de-Bouc to restore Raymond Morales' sculptures. This year, volunteers are embarking on a cycling tour between the town of Port-de-Bouc and Catalonia to discover the artist's Catalan origins.

The group will transport pieces of Raymond Morales' work to be exhibited in different towns along the itinerary and will participate in events with the local population to present the sculptor, his history and his work, particularly during the Heritage Days.
The first three days will be devoted to preparing for the journey, then the volunteers will alternate between days of travel, with stages averaging 50 km (from 30 to 85 km), days promoting the project and the artist, and discovering the local heritage.
In Gruissan, volunteers will carry out a small work project to restore and promote a piece of art by a local sculptor, alongside a technical supervisor. You will work on cleaning and promoting a piece of art and learn how to maintain metal material.

Logement et nourriture

The group will be accommodated in individual tents, on camping sites or in areas provided by local municipalities. Tents are provided by Concordia. The group will have access to sanitary facilities and showers. On one of the stages, accommodation will be in a hotel with shared rooms.

Each day, a pair of volunteers will join the vehicle with one of the campleaders and will be responsible for reaching the next location to prepare the campsite and a collective living space before the group arrives, as well as going shopping and preparing meals giving priority to healthy, local produce. A budget will be allocated to the leaders.

Situation, loisirs

Port-de-Bouc is a commune in southern France, located in the Bouches-du-Rhône département (13), 45 km northwest of Marseille. Embracing the sea and the Etang de Berre, the town has asserted its industrial and maritime vocation, becoming a land of the sea.
Port-de-Bouc is famous for its militancy and resistance, its commitment to young people and its cultural initiatives.

The cycling itinerary will follow the coastline, using mainly cycle routes and greenways to reach the different stopovers, which will allow you to discover emblematic towns and cities of the local heritage: Arles, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Le Grau-du-Roi and Agde, urban seaside tourist towns, or Gruissan, a historic fishing village, before arriving in the village of Portbou in northern Catalonia.

Partenaire

This project is part of a comprehensive plan to restore the work of local artist Raymond Moralès, which the municipality of Port-de-Bouc has been carrying out for many years, and a partnership between various municipalities committed to preserving the industrial, artistic and cultural heritage of the port basin and littoral zone.

In 2025, the project will be unique in that it will be a travelling project by bicycle!

Itinéraire vers le point de rendez-vous

The meeting point is at the Port-de-Bouc train station on 15/09/2025 at 5pm. The exact meeting time will be communicated with the route map, sent out no later than 4 weeks before the start of the work.
From Marseille's Saint-Charles station, TER trains run regularly to Miramas station, where it is possible to take a TER train to Port-de-Bouc. The journey takes around 1.5 hours.
Alternatively, direct trains leave from the Arenc-Euroméditerranée station in the center of Marseille. The journey takes about 1 hour.

Please note: the return journey departs directly from PortBou station in Spain. It is located 2.5 hours from Barcelona and 5 hours from Marseille by train.
