Work

Join a unique project by participating in a construction site on the coast of Brittany!
The town of Pleurtuit welcomes you for its first international workcamp and needs you to embellish the church in the town center ! You will work on the renovation of the church walls, but also and above all, you will actively participate in the preservation of local endangered bird species that nest in the church. The project is to renovate the building without disturbing these rare birds.
A great opportunity to discover the Emerald Coast, to have unforgettable encounters and to actively participate in the protection of biodiversity!

Accomodation and food

You will sleep in two-person tents (provided by Concordia) in the municipal camping area, only a 5-minute walk away from the worksite ! The group activities and meals will take place in a room dedicated to the volunteers. The group will be sharing the different tasks of collective life together. A budget will be allocated to the group leaders and you will participate in the preparation of meals, run errands from the market and local producers, and prioritize healthy and seasonal products.

Location and leisure

Pleurtuit is a French town made up of around 7,000 residents, located in the north of the department of “Ille et Vilaine”. It is located 15 minutes away from the city of Dinard and 25 minutes away from Saint-Malo. It is also very close to the sea where you can go on many outings.
If you want to know more about Pleurtuit and its history, it's here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8z_VnyZx744

Project hosted by

The elected officials of the municipality are very attached to their heritage and are delighted to welcome a group of young internationals to animate their territory for this first workcamp with Concordia!
The environmental associations are also very satisfied with the development plan for the construction site: indeed, if the construction site takes place in September, it is to avoid disturbing birds nesting. These same associations will be happy to share their knowledge of these local species and activities are planned to allow you to learn more.

Directions to meeting point

The meeting point is set at the DINARD train station. The exact time of the meeting will be communicated with the infosheet, sent 4 weeks before the camp starts.
Train reservations can be made approximately 4 months before departure on the SNCF website, link below: https://www.sncf-connect.com/
You will have first to get a train from Paris to RENNES, and then take a BreizhGo bus to get to Dinard: https://www.ter.sncf.com/bretagne/se-deplacer/prochains-departs/dinard-87478230
Please consider using low-carbon transportation (train or bus, rather than airplane) for a sustainable international workcamp.

Additional comments

You will have to bring warm clothes (trousers, sweaters, socks, closed shoes, rain clothes) and light ones (skirts or shorts, t-shirt, open shoes) because the weather can change very suddenly in Brittany. You can literally experience all four seasons in one day! Please also take with you working clothes, gloves and shoes in addition to your swimsuit. Bring a warm sleeping bag and an insulated camping mat as nights are sometimes fresh and wet.
You can bring board games, a music instrument or any other object from your country/region that you wish to share with the group. Don’t hesitate to share your culture as much as possible with the other members of the group!
On the last day (19/09), the departure time is usually set in the morning.

Requirements

Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues happen on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

This project is supported by the program European Solidarity Corps for young people between 18 and 30 years. It is open to all volunteers that fit the ESC criteria.
The participation to the ESC volunteering teams is subjects to several principles and conditions, presented on the ESC webpage: https://europa.eu/youth/solidarity/mission_en

  • Volunteers do not have to pay any fee (no sending, nor participation fee) to attend the project;
  • Volunteers need to enroll in the PASS, the European Solidarity Corps Portal; Concordia France will organise their matching, on the online system, with the volunteering project;
  • Volunteers will receive pocket money, calculated on basis of 8€/day, once they arrive on the project in France;
  • Volunteers will receive a financial support for their travel, according to a maximum amount established in accordance with their travel distance and upon the presentation of original tickets;
  • Volunteers will have to complete a participation report, submitted online through the portal.

Work

Come and experience a unique project in Avricourt, in the heart of Picardy!
Join us in restoring the charming church of Avricourt, a true local heritage gem that withstood the challenges of World War I.
Building on the work of previous teams, you’ll help renovate the church’s interior.
On the agenda: traditional masonry, joint repairs, pillar restoration, and plasterwork.
And there’s more! Depending on your skills and interests, surprises await you throughout this exciting project.

Accomodation and food

You will have the village hall at your disposal as a place to live, which includes a well-equipped kitchen (community oven, dishwasher, big fridge etc.). Individual tents will be provided as well as a fallback solution in the village hall in case of bad weather. Please note that only one shower and one toilet will be available on site. The group will be sharing the cleaning chores and preparing meals together. A budget will be allocated to the group leader and you will participate in the grocery shopping and in the preparation of meals, prioritising healthy products from local producers.

Location and leisure

Avricourt is located 15 km away from Noyon, in the North of Oise. In a central location in Picardie, you can visit Amiens, its cathedral and its “hortillonnages” (floating gardens), Compiegne and its imperial palace, Noyon and its historical centre. You can also hike in the surrounding countryside among cereal fields and small pasture valleys. If you are a nature lover, you could even discover the educational beehive with the school children and the beehives of a small local producer. A concert given by the local band in the church is planned the day before the departure.

Project hosted by

The village of Avricourt is a historical partner of ours. With just 500 residents, this small community goes above and beyond to warmly welcome volunteers: shared meals, dinner invitations, homemade jam, and fresh vegetables from the garden are just part of the tradition here.
Plenty of interactions await you! Together with the support of the animation team, you’ll also have the opportunity to organize events and activities for the villagers and the local school children.

Directions to meeting point

The meeting point is scheduled at NOYON train station at the end of the afternoon on August 29. The exact meeting time will be given with the infosheet which will be sent at least 4 weeks before the start of the workcamp.
If you are coming first by plane, remember that you will need some time to commute from the airport to the train station, therefore we recommend that you arrive early enough for you not to rush and have a stress-free journey. (Paris Airports : Paris-Beauvais, CDG, Orly)

Additional comments

People who are over 35 years old are also encouraged to apply to this workcamp! We'd like to have an inter-generational workcamp with this project.

Please bring work clothes for the construction site and tight shoes. Don’t forget your sleeping bag as well as a floor mat for more comfort.
You can also bring with you specialties from your country, photos, music instruments, in short what you like and want to share on this site, either with the local population or with the group!

EU citizens must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues arise on the project, volunteers will have to pay for it, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.

Work

For over 10 years, volunteers and employees in job integration programs at the natural market gardens of Grigny have been working together on projects involving vegetable farming, construction, and landscape development. This year’s workcamp will give volunteers the opportunity to help improve the farm’s facilities for welcoming the general public.
This year, you will take an active part in improving the living environment at the farm by helping to create a new rest area in the park. The project includes building wooden furniture, such as benches and picnic tables, to provide a welcoming space for visitors. You will be guided by a technical supervisor and will have the chance to learn how to use tools and explore sustainable construction techniques. At the same time, you’ll have the opportunity to discover the basics of market gardening and permaculture. By working in the garden, you’ll learn about environmentally friendly farming practices.

Accomodation and food

Volunteers will be accommodated in individual tents in a shaded area of the farm park, close to the association’s communal living facilities: kitchen, marquee, showers, toilets, and gathering spaces.

Location and leisure

Saint Pierre de Côle, in the heart of green Périgord, Dordogne.
During your stay, you will have the opportunity to participate in local festivities and cultural events, discover the region and organise your programme of activities with the other volunteers and the animators.

Project hosted by

The Château de Bruzac has been a co-castle for centuries. Indeed, since the 13th century, it has been the seat of a co-lordship following a complicated succession. So complex that until the revolution, it remained separated into two sets of habitats within the same fortified enclosure despite the various occupations, wars and revolts. After the revolution and the evictions of the noble families of the site, the castle will serve as a quarry for the inhabitants of the village of Saint Pierre de Côle and the surrounding farms.
For around thirty years, it has belonged to a couple of history enthusiasts and is managed and promoted by the local association "Renaissance du Vieux Bruzac". You'll have the chance to help them clear the chapel and salvage the stones. These 2 weeks of work will be punctuated by the European Heritage Days on 20 and 21 September. You'll be taking a step back in time, and on this occasion, you'll be helping to welcome visitors in a medieval setting, with costumed activities.
You'll also have the chance to find out from this association, which is passionate about history, how people cooked in the Middle Ages and during the Renaissance, and to visit the Dordogne, a land of gastronomy and history.

Directions to meeting point

The meeting point is Négrondes station. You should get there on 08/09 between 5pm and 8pm. If you arrive the day before, you will need to arrange your own accommodation.
Departure is on the last day between 9a.m and 12p.m at latest.

Work

You will have the opportunity to contribute to the preservation and enhancement of local heritage by participating in various renovation and development projects.
Among the main tasks, you will continue the expansion work of the "Recyclerie," started by volunteers in 2024. Under the supervision of a technical coordinator, you will complete the roofing of the annex previously built, using reclaimed tiles. This project aims to create additional space for storing items to be repaired, supporting the circular economy within the community.
In parallel, you will assist in organizing the Balladines Festival, a much-anticipated poetic and musical event that will take place during the first weekend of your project.
Additionally, you will contribute to the maintenance of local trails and small village heritage sites. This includes clearing vegetation from paths and around historic washhouses. Some hiking trails also require interventions to make them more accessible and safe.
Other restoration projects will enrich the work camp, such as rebuilding dry-stone walls, repairing the joints of the "gariotte" (a small stone hut) near the tennis court, and restructuring the roof of the sanitary facilities at the Fontbonne campsite.
Your participation will actively support the preservation and appreciation of the local environment while allowing you to develop new technical and interpersonal skills.

Accomodation and food

You will be accommodated in individual tents at the Fontbonne estate. Toilets and showers are located nearby, but there will be no Wi-Fi access on-site. Volunteers will take part in maintaining the space, preparing meals, and cooking together. Meal choices will balance your preferences with local and seasonal products.
Every day, a small team of volunteers will be responsible for cooking meals for the entire group. Special attention will be given to using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. It is important to note that meat will not be served every day, as Solidarités Jeunesses prioritizes environmental protection and aims to reduce meat consumption on work camps.
Dietary accommodations for specific needs can be discussed with the group leaders.

Location and leisure

Located at the gateway to the Tarn region, you will enjoy various leisure activities, including visits to medieval villages, hiking, exploring Bruniquel Castle, and discovering Albi and its cathedral.
During your stay in the heart of the village, you will have opportunities to meet and interact with local residents, sharing moments of conviviality.
You are also encouraged to take initiative in organizing evening and weekend activities, such as musical gatherings, dance nights, or cultural events. And what better way to connect than by hosting a grand international meal, open to all, where you can share culinary specialties from your home country with both locals and visitors!

Project hosted by

Since 2002, the Citrus association has been organizing international volunteer work camps, particularly in its local area. Every year, dozens of volunteers from all over the world take part in projects of public interest, responding to the needs of local municipalities while bringing life and energy to villages through community activities.
This year, for the second time in a row, international volunteers will be working in the charming village of Penne, located in the Tarn and known as the "Eagle’s Nest." They will collaborate with local residents to carry out renovation and development work. Through teamwork and enthusiasm, their presence will embody the values of sharing, meeting new people, and intercultural exchange promoted by Solidarités Jeunesses!

Directions to meeting point

We will pick you up in Gaillac train station after 2:00 PM. You can easily take a train from Toulouse Matabiau station directly to Gaillac.

Work

Come and discover Toulouse, the Ville Rose, from a different angle. In partnership with the association Un Œil Sur Ma Ville, you will restore part of the collective memory of a district of the city. For two weeks, you will meet the inhabitants with the aim of collecting local memory: finding old documents, collecting their words and creating audio, visual, pictorial content... You will be able to give free rein to your creativity to create content from your finds. During the heritage and matrimony days, you will be asked to present your finds to the local inhabitants.

Accomodation and food

You will sleep in individual tents (provided by Concordia) with access to sanitary facilities, showers, and a kitchen. Everyone will take turns preparing meals and managing the living space (organizing schedules, cleaning, shopping, etc.). Tasks will be shared collectively, and meals will be prepared together (mainly vegetarian). A budget will be allocated to the team leaders, and you will participate in grocery shopping, prioritizing healthy and locally sourced products. For your comfort, a washing machine will be available on site, and there will be access to Wi-Fi.

Location and leisure

Toulouse, the city of aeronautics and its famous red-brick charm, offers an unforgettable experience! In July, the city comes alive under blue skies and warm summer weather. You’ll have time to wander through the historic streets, relax along the Garonne River after a day of work, or enjoy the friendly atmosphere of its café-lined squares. Don’t miss the iconic Place du Capitole, the vibrant local markets, and of course, a taste of traditional Toulouse cuisine — especially the legendary cassoulet! You’ll also have the chance to explore the city’s parks and gardens, perfect for a stroll or a picnic with the group.

Project hosted by

Un Œil Sur Ma Ville is a Toulouse-based NGO that aims to enable everyone to better understand the history of their city. Through exhibition tours in the heart of the city, co-created using residents' memories, the NGO strives to create social connections between all.

Directions to meeting point

Before your arrival, the group leader will create a WhatsApp group for all participants. The meeting point is set at Toulouse Matabiau train station on September 3rd at 6:00 PM.

Additional comments

Bring comfortable clothing, hiking shoes, and a swimsuit. Nights can be chilly, so bring warm clothes, a good sleeping bag, and an air mattress/ground mat. You may also want to bring recipes from your country/region, musical instruments, and games.
Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. This project is supported by the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program for young people between 18 and 30. It is open to all volunteers that fit the ESC criteria.
The participation to ESC volunteering teams is subjected to several principles and conditions, presented on the ESC webpage: https://europa.eu/youth/solidarity/mission_en - volunteers do not have to pay any fee (neither sending, nor participation fee) to attend the project and will receive financial support for their travel, according to a maximum amount established depending on their travel distance and upon the presentation of original tickets; - volunteers need to enrol in the PASS, the ESC Portal; then Concordia France will organise their matching, on the online system, with the volunteering project;
- volunteers will receive pocket money, calculated on the basis of 8€/day, once they arrive at the project in France;
- volunteers will have to complete a participation report, submitted online through the portal. Rendez-vous :
Before your arrival, the group leader will create a WhatsApp group for all participants. The meeting point is set at Toulouse Matabiau train station on September 3rd at 6:00 PM.
A detailed travel sheet with all practical information (bus schedules, travel tips, etc.) will be sent to you four weeks before the project begins to help you plan your trip smoothly.
Train bookings in France are usually available about four months in advance on the official website: https://www.sncf-connect.com/
The final morning (24/09) is reserved for departures.

Requirements

Bring comfortable clothing, hiking shoes, and a swimsuit. Nights can be chilly, so bring warm clothes, a good sleeping bag, and an air mattress/ground mat. You may also want to bring recipes from your country/region, musical instruments, and games.
Foreigners belonging to the European Union must bring with them a personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and everybody must, in any case, bring their insurance certificate. If health issues arise on the project, volunteers will have to pay for them, and will then be reimbursed once back in their home country.
This project is supported by the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) program for young people between 18 and 30. It is open to all volunteers that fit the ESC criteria.

Work

This workcamp will enable you to carry out a number of activities: opening up the environment (cutting down trees), delimiting the protected area from the area frequented by kitesurfers, for example (installing wooden barriers), uprooting invasive species to enable endemic species (flora or fauna) to reproduce. The aim of the project is to preserve the area around the pond, whether through visitor management or plant management. 25h/week

Accomodation and food

You'll be staying in a gîte provided by the local council, just a few minutes from the Mediterranean Sea. There are dormitories, sanitary facilities, and a kitchen. Meals will be provided and prepared in turn by participants.

Location and leisure

You'll be located between the Mediterranean Sea and the Etang de Salses Leucate, close to Perpignan and the Pyrenees. Local residents and elected representatives will be invited and encouraged to take part in the project (welcome, mutual aid, solidarity, and exchanges).
As the workcamp will take place in a protected area, most leisure activities will involve discovering the surrounding nature (flora and fauna), as well as the culinary heritage. Transportation will also be provided to organize discovery outings and leisure activities.

Project hosted by

This international workcamp is organized in partnership with the Syndicat mixte Rivage and the commune of Le Barcarès, on the edge of the Etang de Salses Leucate, a protected wetland renowned for its varied biodiversity. The partnership between the Rivage syndicat mixte and the REV has existed for several years. The syndicate regularly collaborates with REV on the organization of international workcamps and other one-off events. The two organizations are used to working together, and share the same values and ambitions. In addition to removing invasive species (witch's claw, yucca, prickly pear, agave, etc.), the aim of this year's workcamp will be to help set up measures to protect and enhance the site's existing biodiversity (e.g. trail development). As the work is weather-related, tasks are generally defined at the start of the project.

Work

You will be working on consolidating the masonry of the stone walls in the ruins of the ancient village of Arzeliers. Using plaster mortar, you'll work on the tops of stone wall slabs that are not protected from the elements by a roof. A local expert will guide you in the making of mortar, holding workshops on the preparation and firing of local plaster. Some activities involve working on scaffolding. Each day, two members of the group will take turns preparing meals for the team; the menu will be defined in advance. You'll work on-site during the morning, Monday to Friday. Generally speaking, the work involves masonry, preparing tools and meals, as well as organizing and setting up collective life.

Accomodation and food

You will be hosted in individual tents on the municipal campsite. The site will be equipped with a large tent that will house the kitchen as well as the group's collective meeting place during the stay. You'll have access to sanitary facilities, and a pétanque court will be available on the campsite. Here, we take great care with our food to reduce our environmental impact: we eat locally as much as possible and reduce our meat consumption to twice a week. Daily life is organized collectively: organization of menus (vegetarian, vegan diets, etc.), shopping, activities, and so on. We organize shopping trips, if necessary, using the vehicles provided on-site.

Location and leisure

The construction site is set a few kilometers from the accommodation site, which can be reached on foot or by shuttle bus.
You will enjoy the natural environment of the Laragnais region and its many easily accessible bathing spots, such as the Méouge and Riou gorges, as well as the town of Sisteron. Discovering this area in the company of a group of international volunteers will enrich your experience. In fact, you'll be the protagonists of your stay: you'll organize your own free time and benefit from the support of an animation team. In the afternoons, workshops and reflections on well-being will be offered.

Project hosted by

For 20 years, volunteers from all over the world have been working to preserve the remains of an ancient ruined village. Will you be the next to join the adventure?
Situated between the Alps and Provence, the ancient village of Arzeliers stands on a hill overlooking a vast panorama. Remains of 12th-century buildings can be found here: a castle, a chapel, traces of fortifications, and several houses. For several years now, in partnership with the commune of Laragne, the association Les Villages des Jeunes has been working to bring the remains of the Château d'Arzeliers to life and maintain them. The various projects we organize on this site aim to enhance and consolidate the ruins of this precious work of architecture while enriching its history through intercultural encounters typical of international work camps.

Directions to meeting point

Laragne Municipal camping site, 14th of september 2025 from 3 pm.

Additional comments

This workcamp is funded by the European Solidarity Corps. There is no registration fee. Transport costs will be reimbursed up to a lumpsum fixed according to the travelled distance. Pocket money of €7 per day will be distributed.

Work

Come and cycle to promote local artistic and cultural heritage !

For several years now, workcamps have been organised in Port-de-Bouc to restore Raymond Morales' sculptures. This year, volunteers are embarking on a cycling tour between the town of Port-de-Bouc and Catalonia to discover the artist's Catalan origins.

The group will transport pieces of Raymond Morales' work to be exhibited in different towns along the itinerary and will participate in events with the local population to present the sculptor, his history and his work, particularly during the Heritage Days.
The first three days will be devoted to preparing for the journey, then the volunteers will alternate between days of travel, with stages averaging 50 km (from 30 to 85 km), days promoting the project and the artist, and discovering the local heritage.
In Gruissan, volunteers will carry out a small work project to restore and promote a piece of art by a local sculptor, alongside a technical supervisor. You will work on cleaning and promoting a piece of art and learn how to maintain metal material.

Accomodation and food

The group will be accommodated in individual tents, on camping sites or in areas provided by local municipalities. Tents are provided by Concordia. The group will have access to sanitary facilities and showers. On one of the stages, accommodation will be in a hotel with shared rooms.

Each day, a pair of volunteers will join the vehicle with one of the campleaders and will be responsible for reaching the next location to prepare the campsite and a collective living space before the group arrives, as well as going shopping and preparing meals giving priority to healthy, local produce. A budget will be allocated to the leaders.

Location and leisure

Port-de-Bouc is a commune in southern France, located in the Bouches-du-Rhône département (13), 45 km northwest of Marseille. Embracing the sea and the Etang de Berre, the town has asserted its industrial and maritime vocation, becoming a land of the sea.
Port-de-Bouc is famous for its militancy and resistance, its commitment to young people and its cultural initiatives.

The cycling itinerary will follow the coastline, using mainly cycle routes and greenways to reach the different stopovers, which will allow you to discover emblematic towns and cities of the local heritage: Arles, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Le Grau-du-Roi and Agde, urban seaside tourist towns, or Gruissan, a historic fishing village, before arriving in the village of Portbou in northern Catalonia.

Project hosted by

This project is part of a comprehensive plan to restore the work of local artist Raymond Moralès, which the municipality of Port-de-Bouc has been carrying out for many years, and a partnership between various municipalities committed to preserving the industrial, artistic and cultural heritage of the port basin and littoral zone.

In 2025, the project will be unique in that it will be a travelling project by bicycle!

Directions to meeting point

The meeting point is at the Port-de-Bouc train station on 15/09/2025 at 5pm. The exact meeting time will be communicated with the route map, sent out no later than 4 weeks before the start of the work.
From Marseille's Saint-Charles station, TER trains run regularly to Miramas station, where it is possible to take a TER train to Port-de-Bouc. The journey takes around 1.5 hours.
Alternatively, direct trains leave from the Arenc-Euroméditerranée station in the center of Marseille. The journey takes about 1 hour.

Please note: the return journey departs directly from PortBou station in Spain. It is located 2.5 hours from Barcelona and 5 hours from Marseille by train.

Train reservations can be made here:

Work

You will have the opportunity to be introduced to the concept of permaculture and agroforestry. You will work on preparing the gardens for the upcoming winter period by weeding, working on the soil protection, seeding and planting. In addition, creative work will be done to build a compost bin next to the gardens. You will also be able to discover and take part in the various activities organised by the community café, a convivial meeting place designed to be a place for sharing, welcoming, catering, knowledge exchange and fostering innovation.

Accomodation and food

You will be welcomed at the Ecocycle Café, located in the same area as the site. Sleeping accommodation in dormitories of 4 to 5 people. Meals will be prepared and eaten collectively in the café's kitchen and dining room. From time to time, you'll enjoy your meals in the company of café volunteers, reinforcing the warm, collaborative spirit that is so important to this project. Everyone will be able to help in the kitchen and share their favourite recipes. So don't forget to bring your gourmet ideas!

Location and leisure

Coly - St Amand (24120) is located in Périgord Noir, 10 km from the caves of Lascaux in Montignac, between Périgueux and Brive.

Site visits, nature activities, you will build your own entertainment program with the animators and the other participants. We prioritize discovering the region and engaging with its local people, rather than focusing on consumer activities.

Project hosted by

Nestled in the hollow of a green valley, the town of Coly - St Amand is located in the heart of the Périgord Noir, a territory rich in history! Composed of two former municipalities that have decided to unite into one, we will work to unite these formerly separate territories into one.
The Ecocycle association is a third place which develops a participatory animation project on the territory of the municipality of Saint Amand de Coly and its surroundings. These activities are strongly influenced by concerns related to climate change. In this context you will participate in the design and preparation of a shared garden.
You will discover the sense of hospitality of the population and the charm of the landscapes and the heritage, by organizing with the other volunteers, and the animators your program of activities.

Directions to meeting point

The meeting point is Condat-Le-Lardin station. You should get there on 04/10 between 5 p.m and 8p.m. If you arrive the day before, you will need to arrange your own accommodation.

Work

You will work each weekday morning for 4 hours under the guidance of a professional mason and local residents. You’ll learn various techniques and participate in the rehabilitation of a public garden wall and the restoration of the church square.
If you have extra time or want to mix things up, no worries—the Arvieu Castle site is an ongoing, beautiful worksite, and the team will be happy to have your help.
You will also take part daily in maintaining the premises and preparing meals. Meal planning will be a collective effort, aiming for a balanced diet based on your preferences/dietary needs and local, seasonal products. Cooking is considered part of the worksite, just like the construction activities.

Accomodation and food

You’ll be housed at Arvieu Castle, a beautiful building set within several wooded hectares, just a 5-minute walk from the village center.
Sleeping arrangements are shared dormitory-style rooms with communal bathrooms on the same floor. Curtains are available in dorms for extra privacy. You will need to bring your own sleeping bag.
Wi-Fi access is available, but the connection is open and very unstable.
A washing machine is available for reasonable and scheduled use.
On the castle’s ground floor, you’ll find a large, friendly dining room next to a kitchen that will be used to prepare your daily meals.
Meals will be healthy, local, and primarily vegetarian. Two meat-based meals will be offered each week.
You’ll also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining your living spaces daily.

Location and leisure

This project is not a tourist trip. Full participation from beginning to end is expected, and you must not be involved in any other concurrent obligations (e.g., university, work) as these are incompatible.
That said, there will be free time in the afternoons for discovering the local area, exploring cultural heritage, and joining scheduled activities or local events (cinema/shows, creative workshops at the shared Fablab Obrador, farm visits, intergenerational meet-ups, etc.).
You’ll also have the opportunity to visit Rodez, including its cathedral, the Soulages Museum, and more.
There are many hiking trails, such as those around Lake Pareloup, for sporty exploration of the region. You can even go geocaching right in Arvieu.
The Insect City museum, located about 30 km away, might also pique your interest.

Project hosted by

Come and discover a vibrant rural village while learning hands-on skills to enhance public spaces. The village of Arvieu, located in the heart of the Lévézou region and near Lake Pareloup, has 800 inhabitants and sits at an altitude of 800 meters.
This experience will immerse you in the village ecosystem—recognized as a "Smart Village"—which includes over 25 associations and a third-place facility combining public and socio-cultural services, professional activities, and more broadly, the Social and Solidarity Economy.
For several years, the municipality of Arvieu and its local ecosystem have been working to improve village life for residents and to attract and welcome newcomers. This experience allows you to live at the heart of a dynamic yet peaceful natural environment.

Directions to meeting point

We will pick you up starting at 2 PM from one of the meeting points (Rodez/Toulouse train station or airport). We’ll contact you to confirm your arrival time and location

Work

The Beaumotte Center is a vibrant and dynamic place that welcomes people from all walks of life every year. It is a space for learning and creativity where everyone can contribute. In this workcamp, you will explore the basics of carpentry through two concrete projects: the construction of a clothing-sharing space to promote solidarity and reuse, and the reorganization of a material storage area as part of a practical and sustainable approach to resource management.
Guided by our team, you will learn how to use various carpentry tools and techniques. You will also participate in daily collective tasks (cooking, cleaning, maintaining shared spaces), in a spirit of cooperation, respect, and conviviality. It will also be an opportunity to discover an alternative place that explores different ways of living and organizing collectively.

Accomodation and food

You will be hosted at our association in a shared two-level dormitory. You will sleep in bunk beds, with mixed gender and nationality accommodation. Please bring enough clothes and essentials, there is no washing machine on site. Wi-Fi is limited to one room and only available at specific times. This helps us create an atmosphere that prioritizes authentic and human connection!
You will take turns cooking in our professional kitchen, always with support from a team leader. Your group will be actively involved in collective life: kitchen, cleaning, gardening/animal care teams, etc. Food is provided by the association. Our ingredients are organic and/or local. Meat is served twice a week, and a fully vegetarian option is always available.
Please note: For the past 45 years, Beaumotte has been running a social project. We host minors under state protection and individuals in social reintegration programs. For this reason, alcohol is not permitted on site.

Location and leisure

Association du Centre de Beaumotte, Le Saussoir, 70190 Beaumotte-Aubertans. The village is in Haute-Saône, about 30 minutes from Besançon.
Afternoons and weekends are dedicated to leisure activities, which you will plan with the team leaders. You will also be encouraged to suggest and run your own activities. Some highlights include: visiting Besançon, nature walks, fun and intercultural workshops…

Project hosted by

Join us for a volunteer experience where learning, cooperation, and openness to others are at the heart of each day. Nestled in the countryside, you will live alongside young people from across Europe and around the world, all with diverse backgrounds but united by a shared desire to contribute to a common project. Here, every action has meaning, and every moment is a chance to grow together. Through sharing and mutual support, we turn our differences into a true source of richness!

Directions to meeting point

We will welcome you at the Center on the first day between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. A meeting point will be organized at Besançon TGV Station (25870) at 7:30 p.m. to help train travelers arrive more easily. On the last day, departures will take place from Besançon TGV station between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. If you are arriving by plane, the most convenient airports are Basel, Orly, or Charles de Gaulle. You will then need to reach Besançon TGV station on your own.
A travel sheet will be sent to you after registration with more detailed information.

Additional comments

No specific requirements, just motivation! Team leaders will be there to guide and support the group in making this a great experience.
