Arbeit

Most of the tasks are manual and try to support the inhabitants of the shelter; so be prepared for cleaning, feeding, and especially loving the shelter's animals. Some construction or modification of the infrastructure might be needed. It will depend on the daily needs of the shelter and therefore you might need to support an event, support a presentation or simply participate in a festival. Flexibility and open-mindedness is a MUST.

Working hours are from 8.00 am to 12.00 plus 2 hours in the afternoon. Volunteers SHOULD BE READY to work actively and realize that the group dynamics and the necessities of the animals need mature and responsible volunteers. If you feel more as a tourist THIS IS NOT YOUR PLACE.
Remember that the island is dry and that you will get dirty every day working with animals

Please click this video to see a normal routine day for volunteers https://www.instagram.com/reel/C5N4Z0jqsSS/?igsh=ajJjejM2bTV3emx4

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Volunteers will sleep at the shelter which is located way out wub-wub in a remote area. The place is a studio that will be shared with other volunteers, not necessarily coming for a work camp. Therefore, there might be some transit with the group. The accommodation has single beds, a bathroom, a kitchen and common areas within the refuge facilities. Volunteers will have the option to stay at the refuge facilities during the volunteer camp participation period. Volunteers work at least 6 hours a day for 5 days a week

Lage und Freizeit

TAARAF is located in a remote area. No tourist resorts close. Temperature is very high (we are very close to the Sahara Desert). Dust is everywhere. Be ready to live a rural experience.
Still, we recommend you to stay some days after. Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands, offers many alternative and lesser-known places to visit beyond the typical tourist hotspots. Here are some suggestions like Cofete Beach, Betancuria, Ajuy Caves, El Cotillo, La Oliva and Las Salinas del Carmen as alternative places that can provide a deeper understanding of Fuerteventura’s culture, history, and natural beauty, offering a more enriching experience beyond the usual tourist trail.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

The Animal Academy is a shelter for animals considered farm animals abused and abandoned on the island of Fuerteventura. We take care of giving them a second chance: here they become superheroes and give a voice to all those who, like them, have suffered at the hands of human beings!

These rescued animals have developmental diseases, psychological problems, and all kinds of ailments, but in the shelter, they find a place where they can live the life they deserve without fear.

The project is located in a REMOTE area of the island. Fuerteventura is ARID, DESERTED, AND HOT!!!

De Amicitia has its own beekeeping project for educational and environmental purposes. We have 20-25 hives located in Altea that are used to carry out educational activities in centers and to pollinate the environment, as well as to produce a few kilos of honey that are used as gifts and to give visibility to the association. Volunteers will help us to maintain our educational beehive hives and panels and probably to fill up our glass jars with our fresh and delicius honey. We will also may ask them to support other assocations in the area by participating in local ecological activities like trail cleaning, community garden support, or beach litter removal, depending on current needs.
Volunteers should be ready for a hands-on, flexible experience and excited to contribute wherever help is most needed.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

The volunteers will stay in a volunteer house, with four rooms with several bunkbeds and bathrooms. They will share rooms with four to six other volunteers. The house includes a nice kitchen in which the volunteers will cook for themselves in the guidance of the camp leaders.
You can either bring your own sheets or a sleeping bag. There are beds and pillows, sheets and pillow covers but it will be convenient that the volunteers bring their own.

Lage und Freizeit

Sanet is a small town in the southwest of Spain close to Dénia (communidad de Valencia). It lays in the beautiful countryside, surrounded by hills which are great for hiking - there are a lot of hiking trails to discover. There is a local swimming pool available and Dénia is only 5 minutes by cars.
The house is located right in the middle of town, so there are great opportunities to interact and socialize with the locals and to truly experience the Spanish countryside.
Furthermore, the volunteers can make excursions to Ondara and El Vergel, local towns close to Sanet. The surrounding villages like Benimelli and Ràfol d'Almunia can also be visited. There will also be day trips to the beach which is about 15 minutes by car from Sanet.

Arbeit

This summer workcamp in Penáguila invites motivated teens to contribute to the recovery of the local natural and cultural heritage. After a recent fire damaged part of the Phytoclimatic Route leading to the historic Jardín de Santos, volunteers will help restore this unique botanical area through tasks such as gardening, environmental clean-up, painting, manual restoration, and replanting.

In addition, participants will support the local museum, help with maintenance tasks, and engage in creative work to beautify public spaces. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to connect with the community by organizing a weekly visit to a local senior center, sharing moments and activities with the elderly.

The project is coordinated in close collaboration with the Penáguila Town Hall, so tasks may also include other helpful activities according to the town’s needs. This workcamp offers a meaningful and hands-on way to make a difference, learn new skills, and enjoy the peaceful beauty of this charming mountain village.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Volunteers will stay in a basic apartment with bunk beds, a kitchen, and bathrooms. The apartment also has access to a pool for relaxing during free time.

Food will be provided by De Amicitia. Volunteers will have the opportunity to cook together with the campleaders, creating meals as a team.

Lage und Freizeit

Tucked away in the heart of the Alicante mountains, Penàguila is a small but enchanting village that offers a perfect blend of nature, culture, and tranquility. Surrounded by olive trees, almond groves, and pine forests, it provides an ideal setting for volunteers looking to disconnect from the fast-paced city life and immerse themselves in authentic rural Spain.

Penàguila is known for its rich historical heritage, featuring a charming old town with narrow cobblestone streets, stone houses, and remnants of medieval walls. It’s a peaceful and welcoming community where locals live at a slower pace, and nature is just a few steps away.

One of the highlights of the village is the Jardín de Santos, a 19th-century botanical garden that once flourished with exotic species and romantic pathways. Although partially damaged by a recent fire, it remains a symbol of local pride and will be the focus of restoration during the volunteer project.

For leisure, volunteers can enjoy:

Nature walks and hiking through the Phytoclimatic Route, which connects the village to the botanical garden and offers stunning views of the surrounding valley.

Cultural visits to the local museum, which showcases the village's agricultural and historical past.

A trip to the nearby Safari Aitana, a drive-through animal park with giraffes, elephants, and lions.

Weekly intergenerational visits to the local senior center, promoting cultural exchange and community bonding.

Volunteers will find Penàguila to be a place where they can connect with nature, engage with the local community, and contribute to a meaningful environmental project—all while enjoying the serene beauty and simple joys of rural Mediterranean life.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

The pickup will take place during the afternoon, but the exact time will be confirmed soon in the Infosheet.

Upon arrival at the site, the campleaders will be there to welcome everyone, introduce the space, and help settle in for the start of the project.

Anforderungen

Volunteers will be involved in manual outdoor work such as gardening, painting, and restoration, often under the summer sun. Participants should be proactive, physically fit, and comfortable with outdoor tasks. No experience is needed, but a positive attitude and willingness to work are essential.

Arbeit

Guardians of Nature is a volunteer project supporting the Santa Bárbara Altea Estiu summer schools—an educational initiative that helps teenagers and local children reconnect with nature and understand the value of their environment. Taking place in the beautiful natural surroundings of Altea, five international volunteers will join a dynamic team to co-create and develop engaging activities and workshops, promoting awareness of local flora, fauna, and sustainable living.

Volunteers will work closely with coordinators and campleaders to design and lead morning workshops for local children, while afternoons will be filled with group and summer camp-style activities including excursions, relaxation sessions, and hands-on experiences in natural sciences and rural life.

This is a screen-free, nature-centered environment that encourages shared learning, creativity, and coexistence. Volunteers are expected to bring initiative, flexibility, and a spirit of collaboration, as they will play an active role in shaping the experience for themselves and the participants.

A good command of English is required, and Spanish or Valencian is a plus. Be prepared for hot summer weather and outdoor conditions.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

The facilities of Finca Santa Bárbara have the optimal requirements for carrying out this project, since they are located in a rural enclave, with toilets, showers, children's games area, a picnic area, camping areas for TENTS and a swimming pool. Summer sleeping bag is necessary.

The food is provided by our campleaders and the volunteers will be cooking in groups by the guidance of our campleader. Tents will be provided by the organization yet you can bring your own tent if you wish.

Lage und Freizeit

Altea La Vella is a district of Altea, a municipality in the province of Alicante (Spain). It has 583 inhabitants (INE 2012). This place of the Marina Baja is located between the sea and the mouintains and was the origin of the current Altea. Its white houses stand out. It is located 3.5km south north of the urban center of Altea, 3 km south of the Sierra de Bernia, 2 km west of the Mediterranean Sea and 9 km from Callosa de Ensarriá.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

A collaboration agreement has been drawn up between Altea Town Hall and the Altaia Higher Education Center and De Amicitia where the students of said institute will participate in this summer camp promoted by De Amicitia association within the framework of international volunteering.

This camp is a part of the project "European Youth in Action: policymakers for climate justice", co-funded by the Citizens, Equality. Rights and Values (CERV) programme of the European Commission. "EYA - European Youth in Action" aims at empowering European youth to make their voices heard by the decision makers on climate justice issues, through building of a structured path at European level for the engagement of youth. The project engages young people in expressing their vision on the Europe they want and on climate justice; increase knowledge and awareness on climate justice issues, improve competences in concrete actions for climate justice in three key related issues: energy transition, greenwashing, biodiversity.

Anreise zum Treffpunkt

The meeting point will be on June 28th in Altea. Volunteers will need to reach the Santa Bárbara facilities by their own means. The exact address and directions will be provided in the Infosheet, and campleaders will be in contact throughout the day to support their arrival and orientation.

Anforderungen

The extra fee has be paid by card ( in the exceptional cases we can accept bank transfer as well) 3 weeks before the camp as a confirmation of participation.

If we don't recieve the fee and the flight/bus tickets of the volunteer, we will consider that she/he will not attending to project and we will give opportunity to other volunteers that are on the waiting list.

Arbeit

The aim of this workcamp is to preserve the natural reserve area surrounding called "Fonts del Río Algar." More concretely, the work will be mainly dedicated to parks and gardens maintenance or “arboretum”: removing the over-grown grass, weeding some parts of the grasslands and the edge of the woods, maintaining footpaths. Volunteers will also take part in the clean-up of some areas of the reserve where building waste has been found, and if time allows it, they will carry out some painting works around the centre.

There will be other additional tasks to change the daily routine of the volunteers. Volunteers might participate in projects using recycled materials, such as sculptures, murals, mosaics, crafts, artistic activities, or other initiatives requested by the local town hall. Also, here may be a day of social work with the youngsters of the town in the local youth center, depending on availability and planning.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

In a small rural house with basic conditions, some kilometres away from the village centre, with 2 different rooms. No need to bring a mattress but bring lower sheets and a summer sleeping bag are necessary. The centre is equipped with showers and WC.

The food is provided by our campleaders and the volunteers will be cooking in groups by the guidance of our campleader.

Please keep in mind that during the summer, weather conditions may not be optimal due to the high temperatures.

Lage und Freizeit

The municipality is located in the province of Alicante, in the northern part of the Marina Baixa region, 10 km from the coast and 42 km from the city of Alicante.

Algar Waterfalls at only 15 km from Benidorm and 3 km from the center of Callosa. This area was declared a Wetland protected by the Valencian Government. It is a park about the importance of water as an environmental resource, economical and cultural. The visit is a route through a circuit of 1.5 km in length along, where you can walk through the bed of the river Algar, see the spectacular waterfalls and the numerous sources, the "tolls" (pools of water) where you can take refreshing swims in crystal clear water, the old dam, the imposing century-old canal and ditches still in use.

Apart from the Waterfalls, there are other interesting sites in Callosa like the cultural heritage of the town, old narrow streets in the center. Also, there are several beautiful hiking routes around Callosa. One of the most spectacular places is El Fort de Bèrnia.

Not far from Callosa, you can visit a town called Guadalest which has an ancient castle. Also, Altea, another beautiful town near the sea can be visited. The beach is not far from the house and somedays, the volunteers can take a trip to the beach of Altea.

The work will mainly involve collaboration with the local Town Council and other community partners, focusing on gardening, painting, and various renovation tasks around the area. Volunteers will contribute to the upkeep and improvement of public spaces by engaging in manual tasks such as restoring community facilities, cleaning, decorating, and maintaining green areas.

Additionally, participants may be involved in supporting environmental volunteering initiatives, including helping us maintain our educational beehive panels and participating in local ecological activities like trail cleaning, community garden support, or beach litter removal, depending on current needs.

The project is dynamic and will adapt to the specific requirements of the municipality and local associations at the time of each camp. Tasks will vary from group to group and may depend on what previous teams have completed. Volunteers should be ready for a hands-on, flexible experience and excited to contribute wherever help is most needed.
There are different Casa Jazmín camps running from the end of June through August. Each group continues the work of the previous one, creating a collaborative effort across the summer.

Lage und Freizeit

Salamanca is a historic city in western Spain, renowned for its rich cultural heritage and stunning architecture. The city is home to the University of Salamanca, founded in 1134, making it one of the oldest universities in Europe. The iconic Plaza Mayor, a grand square surrounded by arcades, is the heart of the city and a popular gathering spot.

Salamanca’s architectural gems include the Old Cathedral (Catedral Vieja) and New Cathedral (Catedral Nueva), which showcase Romanesque and Baroque styles. Other highlights are the Casa de las Conchas, a beautiful building adorned with scallop shells, and the Puente Romano (Roman Bridge), dating back to the 1st century.

The city has a vibrant atmosphere, thanks to its large student population, and is filled with cafes, bars, and restaurants offering both traditional Spanish cuisine and modern dishes. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Salamanca is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Spain, with its charming streets, squares, and gardens making it a delightful place to explore.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

Come to our camp if you feel that…

You are a creative, innovative and environmentally conscious young person. This volunteer project seeks to revitalize the community through a transformation process that combines cooperation, creativity and respect for the environment. Your volunteering is a unique opportunity to get involved in meaningful activities that will have a positive impact on the San Fermín neighborhood. This is an international program integrated into the San Fermín Neighborhood Association project in which two German volunteers participate and will be a link between the volunteers in the camp and the San Fermín neighborhood, facilitating the link between all participants.

Why participate in our workcamp?

“Growing Together in San Fermín” is a volunteering project for young people between 18 and 30 years old, from different parts of Spain and abroad. During this period, the volunteer participants will be able to develop personal skills, lead initiatives and work as a team. The young people will be able to learn about new cultures, languages and traditions, as well as meet other people with similar interests. This project will allow you to promote ecological practices, develop your creative capacity and interact with the neighbours in the development of activities for the San Fermín neighbourhood festival.

Tasks specific to the workcam

Your volunteering will be divided into three phases:

• Restoration and cleaning of the Urban Garden Environment: cleaning and reconditioning of the garden. Environmental workshops, incorporating environmental awareness dynamics
• Participation in the San Fermin neighborhood festivities: Volunteers will participate in neighborhood festivities to gather ideas and inspiration for the community mural. They will take notes and conduct interviews with neighbors based on the neighborhood's history. They will schedule artistic activities. This phase of the camp becomes a time of reflection and inspiration for the community mural that will be created in the last phase of the camp.
• Community Mural Creation: Volunteers will design a mural that symbolizes the values, diversity, history and identity of San Fermín, gathered during the festivities. They will participate in collaborative design and painting workshops. Each participant will contribute their vision to the creation of the mural. The creation of this mural will not only be a work of art, but also a symbol of the collaboration and community spirit that characterizes San Fermín.

Come to our camp if you feel that…

Thanks to archaeology, the remains of our cultural ancestors can be found, studied and understood. You do not need experience to participate in “Paper Road”. You will work with an archaeologist and historian. The volunteer camp takes place at the foot of the mountain, in the Paular valley, a place historically linked to the Los Batanes estate as a model of industrial development such as the use of different hydraulic devices to take advantage of water energy. This is where the galley proofs with which the first edition of Don Quixote was published were produced.

Why participate in our field?

In “Camino de Papel”, participants will carry out a series of specific archaeological activities in different locations with the aim of discovering archaeological remains based on previous research.
For 15 days, you will be able to enjoy a special vacation, meeting people from other regions and countries.

Tasks specific to the field of volunteering

 Clearing and cleaning of existing vegetation , both inside and outside and around the perimeter of archaeological structures.
 Manual cleaning and scraping of construction parts (walls, floors, etc.) , removing vegetation that is harmful to architectural elements. If archaeological objects are found, they will be collected, documented and stored for later study.
 Excavate certain structures using archaeological methodology , developing strict stratigraphic documentation of the levels of deposition and the construction units that may exist in the subsoil. In this process, all archaeological material will be collected. An archaeological survey is also planned.
 Register all archaeological material collected for research and subsequent storage in the Regional Archaeological Museum of the Community of Madrid, as established by current legislation.

Arbeit

This volunteer camp proposes two very different activities. The first is the study and knowledge of the legends and tales of the city of Huesca.
The work will be carried out through visits to museums and historic buildings where the events took place. And the se-cond, the creation, design and execution of a dramatized tourist route through the historic center of the city.
The performance must be done in Spanish.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Accommodation will take place at the Santo Domingo Student Residence, located on the central street of Coso Bajo, next to the bullring and the University. It has the capacity to ac-commodate more than 20 people in double, triple or quadruple rooms. It has common dining and living room areas with TV and Wi-Fi zone. Bathrooms are shared and participants must collaborate in cleaning the common areas of the residence.

Young people from Spain must bring sleeping bags or sheets and shower and pool towels. For foreign participants, the resi-dence will provide these utensils, so it will not be necessary for them to bring them.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner will take place at the Residence where participants are staying at the follo-wing times: breakfast at 8.30am, lunch at 2pm and dinner at 9pm.

The food will be healthy and balanced, cooked every day at the residence by its catering team. During the day, they will be offered a snack. Breakfast will be self-service and will consist of: milk, coffee, juice, pastries, biscuits, toast, butter and jam.

On days when there are excursions or a very tight schedule outside the residence, lunch may be replaced by a picnic consisting of a sandwich and fruit. This case will be exceptional.

It is possible to adapt the menu to suit dietary needs or options.

Lage und Freizeit

The programme of complementary activities of the volunteer camp offers participants a comprehensive experience that combines culture, nature, sport and coexistence.

Among the highlighted cultural visits, there is an excursion to the Loarre Castle, a Romanesque jewel and one of the best preserved castles in Europe, where a guided tour will be carried out to learn about its history and its importance in the Kingdom of Aragon.

A guided tour of the city of Huesca will also be organised to discover its main historical sites, as well as a tour of the Huesca Cathedral and the Diocesan Museum, which will allow participants to delve deeper into its architecture, art and religious history.

Activities in contact with nature will include an exciting day of rafting on the Gállego River, where participants will be able to enjoy the natu-ral environment while working as a team.

In addition, a walk through nature will be planned towards the Fuente de Marcelo, a quiet and picturesque environment that combines physical exercise and scenic enjoyment.

During the breaks, there will be moments of relaxation and recreation in the pool, which will serve to combat the heat and strengthen the bonds between the volunteers.

To encourage coexistence and mutual understanding, group dynamics and games designed to strengthen group cohesion will be carried out.

As a special welcome activity, the camp will begin with an international dinner in which participants will bring non-perishable products representative of their countries or regions.

During the dinner, they will have the opportunity to share their dishes with others and explain the cultural relevance of their choices, creating an enriching and multicultural environment from the first day.

This complementary program seeks to balance technical work with moments of enjoyment, lear-ning and coexistence, making the experience unique and memorable
