Location and leisure

Anzio is a beautiful city located on the Tyrrhenian coast about 60 km from Rome. Apart from being a summer holiday destination, it is also a place of residence. In fact, the city has more than 50,000 inhabitants, including the hamlets. It boasts an illustrious past. But it is also a seaside with beautiful beaches, numerous restaurants and lots of fish (Anzio is an important fishing port of central Tyrolean Italy). Beautiful port (seen in hundreds of films) and the remains of various Roman villas. TERMINAL : Rome Ciampino airport , then COTRAL bus to Anzio (outside the airport) or Rome Fiumicino airport “Leonardo Da Vinci”, then train Leonardo express (at the airport to Roma Termini Station where every hour a train takes direction Nettuno (get down at Anzio Centro).

Project hosted by

PARTNERS : Public Pre- School belonging to a School Institute called Anzio IV situated in Anzio near Rome; this institution has an experimental school plan “The school in the rabbits’ wood” in order to involve our children to become a world citizens and to be encouraged and stimulated for an inter-cultural education and learning by spending time and being involved in group outdoor activities in the nature. In this way the project could increase their world vision, it could educate them to the differences, to the peace and to their ability of integration.
PROJECT : The classes that will participate in the project with different activities based on the age of the pupils are:
- Ten classes (Don Pino Puglisi school): two of which are children from 3 to 6 years of age and 7
primary schools with children aged 6 to 10;
- Secondary school (Falcone school), the students (from 11 to 14 years) will also participate in the project through meetings aimed at cultural exchange.
Our aim is to enrich our educational assortment on offer putting into practice the outdoor method, that is an education and a teaching outside the usual school classrooms in touch with nature. Volunteers will be involved in our experimental school plan “The school in the rabbits’ wood”.
During the school day, children have gaming, teaching and recreational activities in order to achieve social, emotional, relational, motor, cognitive and cultural goals appropriate to their age. The most important aim for this school level is the complete independence of the children.

Work

During the festival, the place will host hundreds of artists and thousands of spectators, so the international volunteers will be asked to join the local volunteers to manage the entire organization of the event. An average of 6 to 7 hours per day is required, with possible activities organized on the event nights. The volunteers' work is going to involve : the logistic set up, the pub & restaurant tending, the cleanup and other activities proposed by the organizers. After the event, the volunteers will help taking down the structures and cleaning the fortress. The work can be physically hard but the environment will be funny and easy going. The motto is to “Share, Work and Have Fun”. In a few words, get ready to be active and to give your energy to the community working at the Forte Prenestino.

Accomodation and food

The volunteers are going to sleep in a dormitory, yet they will have to bring a sleeping bag. During the festival, they can possibly be asked to sleep a few nights in tents. Please, take good note that the accommodation is really basic. Hand in hand with your team-mates, you will have to clean and to prepare the dorm at your arrival. Consequently, we want you to be aware that the comfort on the camp will be simply basic. The toilets will be collective and they are not what we could call de luxe. As for the showers, they will probably in outside (open air showers), so don't forget your swimsuit/swimming trunks. Regarding the meals, the volunteers are going to use the kitchen for breakfasts and will have meals at the restaurant: they will be asked to help the cookers

Location and leisure

The Camp takes place in Rome. Forte Prenestino Social Center is located in one of these fortresses around the city, in a big working-class neighborhood called Centocelle.

Project hosted by

The center has become a place of cultural production, autonomously managed and economically independent. The main goal of their work is to bring together understanding and action; social rights and voluntary activities; the local and the global. They promote not-for-profit projects, which could be useful for the local communities, fight racism and increase intercultural exchanges.

PROJECT : The “Crack” International Comics Festival is organized every year by Forte Prenestino Social Center, in Rome. Crack festival will involve editors and artists coming mainly from European and Mediterranean countries: 4 days of exhibitions, workshops and cultural exchange will involve hundreds of youngsters and experts. By joining this workcamp you will contribute to the Sustainable Development Goal: SustainableCommunities-SDG11

Work

The workcamp is an international experience, giving the volunteers the opportunity to meet young people from all over the world. In terms of communication, the main watchword at the Center is diversity and open-mindedness. This is your chance to discover different cultures, and ideas and exchange experiences. The work accomplished on each camp is very important, the volunteers themselves are the main reason for Agape is able to keep organizing more and more projects every year. Thanks to a group of people living there all year long (the so-called Resident group), but also to the ecumenical and international community coming to help, the center has an effect on its visitors' life. As a volunteer, you will be asked to work with the Resident Group. Every Resident has a sector for which they are responsible (kitchen, cleaning, bar, maintenance,... and so on), in which you will help them, and each of the Residents will be there to help you and support you. You will have 6-7 working hours per day. The Centre will organize every year's national camps in the place and the international group will work in parallel with the permanent residence to guarantee the running of all other project schedules. Volunteers will help in the following tasks: kitchen, meal service (tables and dishes), cleaning, maintenance, bartending, and babysitting.

Accomodation and food

Volunteers will be host in 3-4 bed bedrooms with shared toilets on the floor. The meals are typical Italian Mediterranean cuisine, with limited consumption of meat for environmental reasons, and the possibility of choices for those who require a special diet. There is a washing machine available for the volunteers.

Location and leisure

Agape is in the Alps, close to Prali commune. Games, discussions, and outings can be organized during free time. Programmed activities (especially in the evening) are most of the time open to the volunteers, as long as they do not clash with work commitments. The place is beautiful but isolated, though you will stay together with many international participants attending the meetings of Agape.

Project hosted by

PARTNER : It’s been ten years that Lunaria and Agape are working side by side to create a space where people can meet in harmony. Agape International Ecumenical Centre is an important point of reference in Italian Protestantism, being for 70 years a place of education and development, theological exploration, political engagement, acceptance and validation of differences. A resident group still lives at Agape throughout the year. Agape was built after the Second World War as a sign of hope and reconciliation between people, thanks to the voluntary work of many young men and women. The dimensions of community and voluntary service remain fundamental. By joining this workcamp you will contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals: QualityEducation-SDG4 and GenderEquality-SDG5, two of the pillars of Agape mission.

PROJECT : Every year many people, with different ages and religious, cultural and political backgrounds, come to Agape to discuss and to be challenged, to get to know themselves and each other and to exchange experiences around a particular theme. The work camp will support the management and support the meetings on issues of political, social, cultural and religious interest. The center is volunteers-driven, and its management is in your hands.

Directions to meeting point

They go via Pinerolo and/or Perosa Argentina

Requirements

Volunteers should come ready to accomplish each task and with an open mind. Travel to Agape can be complicated, very isolated place.

Work

WORK: Participants will be mainly involved in cleaning and maintaining the high and medium mountain and agro-silver-pastoral paths adjacent to the hostel, as well as supporting the activities of agricultural companies. They will also be involved in restoring the signs of the local paths and in taking care of the greenery of the large park surrounding the hostel. For the identification of the routes, obtaining permits, on-site accompaniment, and assistance during the carrying out of activities relating to the paths, we avail ourselves of the support and collaboration of the Cedegolo section of the Italian Alpine Club (CAI), of the Valcamonica Mountain Community, of the municipal administrations of Cevo and Saviore dell'Adamello and finally of some agricultural companies in Valsaviore. The shifts will be 5 hours per day, for 5 days a week, excluding Saturday and Sunday.

Accomodation and food

ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD: Meals will be served mainly in the hostel with a predominantly vegetarian menu, however, variations may be made to meet different needs. Where necessary, volunteers are expected to bring a packed lunch, while on other days they will have lunch together with the local community or at the farms that will host them for their tasks. Main meals are provided (breakfast, lunch, dinner); the remainder are paid by each volunteer. Participants will be hosted at the Casa del Parco hostel and accommodated in several shared rooms: each room has 4 to 5 beds, a private bathroom, and a shower. There are several common areas, including reading rooms, a restaurant, and a large outdoor garden, as well as free Wi-Fi (due to the location of the facility in a closed valley, we cannot guarantee a fast connection in case of heavy crowds) and the possibility of using the washing machine once a week.

Location and leisure

LOCATION AND LEISURE: Cevo (province of Brescia, Italy) is a small mountain village of 800 inhabitants located inside the Adamello Regional Park, at an altitude of 1,100 m. Placed at the junction of two valleys closed by the head of Adamello glacier, it offers a barely anthropic, natural environment that counts on a reduced tourism flow. An atmosphere foreign to urban chaos where time seems to flow slowly, ideal for hiking surrounded by nature. Most local people do not speak English fluently.

Project hosted by

PARTNER: Casa del Parco Adamello is a multifunctional, community place where people can meet and discuss mountain culture. It is a space committed to territorial promotion where we can draw a path focused on enhancing potential and local resources. Here we arrange cultural events, workshops, and training addressed to social innovators and people involved in mountain area development.
PROJECT: We co-design camps together with environmental activists: side by side with the community of communities - both local and elected - and institutions, we want to contribute to Valsaviore’s economic, cultural, environmental, and social development. In line with these objectives, the main purpose of this camp is to provide opportunities for concrete action in a wonderful, fragile, and precious mountain context, and to encourage meeting, exchange, and intercultural dialogue between international volunteers and local communities. Not a secondary effect, the volunteers' activity would translate into concrete actions capable of allowing inhabitants and tourists to experience the mountains and the territory safely and without risks, making it a more welcoming, inclusive, and attractive place.
By joining this workcamp you will contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals: SustainableCommunities -SDG11, SustainableConsuption&Production-SDG12, and LifeOnLand-SDG15

Directions to meeting point

Orio al Serio airport (Milan Bergamo), take the transfer to Brescia station. From here, take the Trenord Brescia-Iseo-Edolo railway line and get off at Cedegolo station. Trains from Brescia to Cedegolo leave approximately every two hours. From Cedegolo station in Cevo, take the direct bus 23a, which leaves from Piazza Roma (about 500 meters after the train station) and has Cevo/Saviore dell'Adamello as its destination.

Requirements

This project is for all those who like spending time outdoors and hiking a lot - you will get out of your comfort zone and live a very dynamic, active, and intercultural experience for sure!

Work

WORK :The work will be close to the river Po in a protected area called “Parco fluviale del Po '' here the volunteers will also cut bamboo to protect the endemic vegetation and clean paths and weeds. We’ll also support a project by Torino University, building `bee hotels” and bringing them to some summer camps for children to share with them the consequences of climate change. In case of rain, the indoor work could also be cleaning work in some bell towers and churches. The volunteers will also be involved, with local teenage volunteers, in the creation of a mural representing the work of this year. Moreover, for the first week of the workcamp, some Italian volunteers could be involved from an association called AU.DI.DO (autonomy for disabled people). To exchange traditions and explore other cultures so please be ready to present something typical of your country (a dance, a song, a game, a typical dish, a custom etc.) and also every week the volunteers will go to a retirement house to present their countries. The volunteers will also meet an association that runs a project to take care of refugees, in this way they can really see how that emergency is managed in Italy. Some of Carignano's families will host the volunteers for a dinner in their home to share their culture and way of life.

Accomodation and food

ACCOMMODATION AND FOOD : The volunteers are going to stay in a building with beds, communal
bathrooms with 2 showers and hot water and a kitchen. Bedrooms are provided with 4 to 6 beds per room. The volunteers are responsible for the cleaning and cooking. Food is provided by the host organization. Volunteers must be equipped with a sleeping bag (or sheets), pillowcase and towels.

Location and leisure

LOCATION AND LEISURE : The town of Carignano (8700 inhabitants) is situated on the left bank of the river Po approximately 20 Km from Torino and within the Regional Parco Fluviale (park of the river). Its center is of typical "piedmontese" style, characterized by an ancient core with medieval archways and a baroque cathedral. The town's surroundings offer sites of architectural and naturalistic interest, it is also possible to reach Turin easily, as there are frequent coaches to the city. During the free time there are many exciting things to do such as visit the open market of Carignano and take part in some local events. On the weekends it will be possible for the group to organize a visit to Turin (there is a bus to and from Turin), visiting the Egyptian museum, the cinema museum, MAO museum of oriental art, the Holy Shroud etc. The costs of the FREE TIMES activities are not covered by the project.

Project hosted by

PARTNER : The camp is organized by Lunaria in collaboration with “Giovani Insieme”. The association is composed of young people for young people founded in October 1998 in Carignano with the aim of protecting, promoting and enhancing artistic, historical and architectural heritage, nature and the environment, by proposing summer work camps for young volunteers from all over Europe.

PROJECT : The workcamps in Carignano were started to restore some rooms in a building in the historical center of the town. Through this project volunteers have the opportunity to recover Carignano’s architectural heritage and enjoy the environment whilst meeting young people from all over the world. Moreover “Giovani Insieme” organizes different local events such as summer camps for local children, cultural exhibitions, etc. By joining this workcamp you will contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals: LifeOnLand-SDG15 and ClimateAction-SDG13.

Work

Volunteers will be engaged in recreational activities with a group of 25 Italian children and refugees. The activities will mainly take place in the mornings and include intercultural workshops, sports and recreational activities such as creative recycling or sensory workshops. Volunteers will be asked to share and propose activities to do with children, preferably games from their own culture or that they played as children, but all initiatives and ideas are welcome.
In order to limit the waste of resources, low environmental impact practices will be preferred in all camp activities (e.g. soft mobility, recycled material, 0 km products...). Visits and excursions will be organised, with the involvement of local organisations and moments of sharing with the local community.

Accomodation and food

The volunteers will stay in a large building in which sleeping bags and mats will be placed. The space, equipped with separate toilets and showers for men and women, reserved for volunteers only. It is necessary to bring sleeping bags and towels. Breakfast, lunches and dinners will be self-managed by the volunteers themselves and organised in a fully equipped kitchen, located in the same building in a room adjacent to the sleeping place. There are community dinners and the involvement of local volunteers. There is no Wi-Fi, but there is good phone coverage in the area.

Location and leisure

The camp will take place in Castri di Lecce, in the province of Lecce, Apulia, in southern Italy. The largest city in the vicinity is Lecce, capital of the province of the same name and one of the most important cities in Apulia. Due to the wealth of Baroque architectural monuments in the city, Lecce is commonly nicknamed 'The Florence of the South'.

Project hosted by

Terzo Millennio - Laboratorio di Umana Solidarietà works locally and internationally to promote Human Rights through integration and emancipation paths for refugees, asylum seekers and foreigner people in the area; training for young people and adults; international mobility and cooperation. The aim is to contribute to the well-being of the children through play and recreational activities during part of the summer holidays. The parents do not have a family network to care for them when the schools are closed and they are at work, so the project meets a concrete need and supports them in their daily lives.

Requirements

No special skills are required, but - as the camp involves daily interaction with children - a lot of patience, creativity, flexibility and a desire to have fun. It would be preferable to have already some experience working with children and it is why artistic, sport and animation skills are really appreciated. A minimum knowledge of the Italian language will be admired.

Work

Participants will be involved in interventions of environmental enhancement, such as: maintenance of footpaths, cleaning of pasture lands and preparing hay for the deer.

During the acitvities they will be guided by the expert volunteers of Consorzio Montagna Viva, who will also provide the necessary tools.

The volunteers will be working for approximately 5 hours per day or less, depending also on the weather.

Accomodation and food

For the first and the last night, volunteers will be hosted in the parish of Delebio. For the rest of the days they will stay in the mountain hut of Alpe Dosso (1600 m).

The diet will be vegetarian.

Location and leisure

The camp will take place in the gorgeous Orobie Valtellinesi Mountains Park. Specifically, the volunteers will stay in Alpe Dosso, but they will also explore the surrounding area both during the working activities and during their free time. They will have the chance to take part in some beautiful hiking trips in the park.

It is important to acknowledge that the mountain hut is quite isolated from the town and it will only be possible to visit Delebio on the first and last day.

The closest airports are: Milan Bergamo Airport, Milano Malpensa Airport and Milano Linate airport.

From there you can take shuttle buses or a train called Malpensa express (from Malpensa airport) that will take you to Milano Centrale station.

From there you have to take the train to Tirano (not Torino!!) and get off in Colico railway station. null

Work

The activities will be in the Pedagogical Garden. We have an aerea dedicated to the proper garden, an area for gatherings, a storage area, a tent and a recently planted food forest. However, over time, a lot of waste materials have accumulated and a lot of grass has covered our food forest. Having lacked possibility to maintain it, the Garden has lost a bit of its initial charm.
Planned activities are:
- general cleaning of the area and re-organisation of different spaces;
- maintenance of our toolshed and of our teepee (big tent);
- classification of the plants on the Garden;
- cleaning the food forest from invasive plants;
- finalising existing walking pathways and water lines
- maintenance of plants in the food forest;
- helping in the organisation of one event with activities.

Accomodation and food

Participants will sleep in the house we use for hosting our activities. It has a kitchen, one dining room, one living room, two bathrooms with showers and four rooms where volunteers sleep together. No sleeping bags or mattresses are needed, but towels, working shoes, clothes and gloves are. The house is provided with WiFi (at least in common areas). Participants have their own fully equipped kitchen where they can prepare and consume meals. We do not exclude that some other hosts may visit the house in the same period. Added value could be if participants bring their driving licence.

Project hosted by

Movesi is a NGO operating since Jan. '23, in a rural internal area near Salerno. It is a cross-municipal organisation working on local community development with a focus on rural areas and internationalisation. The main mission of Movesi is “facilitating movements”: generating fluxes of people and ideas to ignite processes of change in territories where many have lost hope and opportunities.
The main mission of Movesi is to reconnect, stimulate and empower local communities by creating opportunities and by fostering activism among youngsters, municipalities, CSOs and entrepreneurs.
One of the main activities of Mòvesi is the Giardino Pedagogico: Mimí e Peppino. This garden is imagined as a community space that can host different activities for different beneficiaries.

Additional comments

Please kindly note that there is an additional incoming fee of 50 Euros for all volunteers applying through Partner organisations or Contacts of the SCI network. Check the status here: https://bit.ly/3vhBD5J. This fee covers hosting costs, insurance, a small travel fund to enable disadvantaged volunteers to join projects and administration costs.

Travel to Agape can be complicated, very isolated place .

Work

Georeferencing hiking trails in the park (2-3 people per group); securing and installing hiking signs; training sessions on cartography and the outdoors in general; management of the outdoor base camp. A working presence of 5 hours per day, 5 days per week is required. In the free time, it is possible to visit neighboring villages and/or go hiking and/or follow the other work on the site (donkey management, beekeeping, organic vegetable garden, chestnut grove).

Accomodation and food

The site is immersed in the Lucanian Apennine National Park, at an altitude of about 1100 m. in a wild chestnut grove. Accommodation is in 4-season tents of various sizes in the tree-lined square in front of the Association headquarters. There are two bathrooms and a shower. Meals are all self-produced and local organic food (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), mainly vegetarian/vegan. Accommodation in mixed or divided tents is at the group's discretion.

Location and leisure

Pignola is a small medieval mountain village nestled in the National Park. It is a few kilometers from Potenza, the most important city, and during the summer the village comes alive with numerous cultural events.

Project hosted by

PARTNER : Fuorisentiero is an association for environmental study, protection, and research in the Basilicata region. The primary tools chosen for the enhancement of the area are trekking, and slow crossing, in various forms, to better enhance the exceptional nature of the places crossed, but also the care, maintenance, and promotion of mountain areas; fundamental, in this sense, is the activity of pathways and mapping, through which the territory is made more usable and it is possible to activate practices of permanent protection and preservation of the Lucanian landscape.

PROJECT : The workcamp is based on these objectives, in that it proposes a period of voluntary co- planning and implementation of a trail network in the Lucanian Apennine National Park, as well as a series of training moments on cartography and the outdoor world.
By joining this workcamp you will contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals: SustainableCommunities-SDG11,SustainableConsuption&Production-SDG12, and LifeOnLand-SDG15

Requirements

This project is for all those who like spending time outdoors, sleeping in tents, and hiking a lot - you will get out of your comfort zone and live a very dynamic, active, and intercultural experience for sure!

The activities will be conducted for the first five days in Salina and Piazzo. Later the volunteers will move to Codera and the following day to San Giorgio, on the opposite side of Val Codera. At the end of the camp, the descent to Novate Mezzola will take place from San Giorgio.
Volunteers will work approximately 6-7 hours per day, including walking time to/from activity locations.

Accomodation and food

For the first five days, accommodation is in Salina historic/rustic homes with essential services (no electricity); in Codera vilage the accommodation is Rifugio Osteria Alpina and in San Giorgio at the Parish House. There are bunk beds with mattress, pillow and blankets, and volunteers will be provided with sheet bag. Bathrooms are common, with hot water showers; the latter is available in limited quantities in Salina. The meals are prepared by Friends of Val Codera Association with the help of camp volunteers; simple cuisine, mainly based on pasta and vegetables.

Location and leisure

The activities will be held in Valle Codera, part of Novate Mezzola municipality in Sondrio province. Accessible only by foot via hiking trails from Novate Mezzola, the trek takes about 2 hours to Codera (800 meters climb) and 1.5 hours to San Giorgio (500 meters climb). Villages sit at 750-950 meters altitude, enjoying a mild climate. Nearest cities include Sondrio (50 km), Lecco (50 km), Como (80 km), Bergamo (90 km), and Milan (110 km).

Project hosted by

The Friends of Val Codera Association was founded in 1981 and has been involved for over 40 years in the protection and eco-friendly promotion of the Codera valley, located in the Rhaetian Alps in the province of Sondrio. The valley has no road access and the villages found there can only be reached on foot. This isolation has preserved the cultural and environmental authenticity of the valley.
The main objective of the association is protection and valorisation of the environmental and cultural heritage of the valley (a typical example of Alpine civilisation) and encouraging slow and conscious tourism that is able to appreciate the particular attractions of the place.

Additional comments

The camp occurs in an inaccessible Alpine valley without road access/shops. Volunteers with dietary needs must inform in advance. Phone signal varies; internet available on request at Osteria Alpina. Hiking opportunities, peaks reaching 3000m, and swimming in Codera river. Museums in Codera and San Giorgio managed by Friends of Val Codera Association offer cultural visits.

Requirements

Volunteers need motivation, basic manual skills, physical endurance, and the ability to engage with locals for wilderness recovery work in isolated areas. They should share the association's spirit of preserving a genuine environment. For the eco-sustainable development workshop, volunteers must bring materials on environmental resistance from their contexts.

Work

The volunteers' efforts are focused on assisting farmers with their daily tasks, significantly easing their workload. When working with cattle herds, the activities include milking cows, guiding them into enclosures by moving electrified wires, assisting the cheesemaker in various stages of cheese production, collecting wood, and helping with cleaning and meal preparation. In contrast, working with sheep primarily involves managing the flock's movements, as milking is not required. Additionally, maintenance tasks are crucial and involve cleaning paths, roads, and green picnic areas, as well as refurbishing signage and fences where necessary. This comprehensive involvement offers volunteers a deep understanding and hands-on experience of rural farm life.

Accomodation and food

Volunteers will be accommodated in self-managed alpine refuges, where they will have the opportunity to contribute to daily tasks and meals. The diet will primarily consist of pasta, rice, and other cereals, along with a variety of vegetables, and a limited amount of meat. Options for vegetarian and vegan diets will also be available, ensuring that individual dietary preferences and needs are catered for.

Location and leisure

Vallecamonica is one of the most wide valley in the italian Prealps and it is recognized by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve thanks to the extraordinary biodiversity it hosts. Specifically, Gianico and the mountains behind it are lush places with excellent pastures and good water availability. The structures that will host the volunteers are typical Alpine refuges built over the past two centuries and renovated over time. There are chances of spotting wildlife such as marmots, deers, eagles and so on.

Legambiente Vallecamonica was founded in the 1980s on the slipstream of the national ecologist movement. Since its birth the circle has supported and organized initiatives regarding air and water pollution, plastic free, the fight against food waste, sustainable agriculture and sustainable mobility. Nowadays there is an active group of educators who bring environmental education in school here in Vallecamonica. The Camp is also one of its historical activities and it aims to create a healthy cultural exchange that promotes ecological awareness and universal citizenship but enhancing local peculiarities.

Requirements

A basic level of fitness is necessary for the mountain treks, as participants will be required to carry their personal belongings during these journeys. We anticipate walking for at least two hours each day, so it's important that volunteers are prepared for this physical aspect of the experience.

Work

This camp is exclusively for families, comprised of adults and children (which may include aunts, uncles, grandparents, etc.). Regarding the extra fee: there is a 100 EURO extra fee per adult and a 50 EURO extra fee for children under 10 years old. The restoration of the Path called On the Trail of the Wolf will allow a better use of the Wildlife Area with a more complete and authentic experience for visitors. The route is designed as a kind of excursion narrated in continuity with the characteristic stories of the historic center of Pretoro (The country of wolves and snakes). The proposed path becomes formative for those who want to know better the populations of Lupo Appenninico present on the Maiella and at the same time exciting in anticipation of the encounter with the wolves hosted in the area. The volunteers will collaborate in the different phases of the renewal of the existing path and will be able to improve their knowledge of wolves, the Park and the town of Pretoro, one of the most typical villages of the Maiella.

Accomodation and food

The hostel is composed by four rooms. The baths, in common, are two, for women and for men. There are many common spaces, multimedia equipment and internet. Great attention to food quality.

Location and leisure

The deep valleys that cross the East Maiella from the South West to the North East, represent the peculiar element of the area. The highlands of the Maielletta, located in front of some of the most important peaks of the Maiella, open gradually widening towards the sea and shape a landscape still forcefully rural from 400 -500 meters above sea level to the coastal area. Wood, stone, wrought iron, artistic ceramics, ancient gastronomic recipes embellish that ancient culture of strong attachment to their land. The National Park has enhanced all this.

Nearest train stations are Pescara and Chieti; nearest airports are Pescara and Rome. Bus Pescara - Chieti - Pretoro only on weekdays. We offer shuttle service 8 places to and from Chieti and Pescara. null
