Trabajo a desarrollar en el voluntariado

In the beginning, volunteers will live & work with rural communities to experience a typical mountain village culture, their lifestyle and during process join our ongoing initiatives like NFE, women empowerment, NRM (Protection of fresh water sources), organic farming etc. They will also visit place of historical and cultural importance for their personal development.

During the last three days, the volunteers would move to Mcloedganj in Dharamshala which is a touristic town and also Secretariat of Tibetan Government in exile. Over here they would visit Tibetan, monasteries, museum, schools and join language classes with Tibetan monks. There is a likelihood that we may take up some cleanliness work or some other activity. Otherwise, this week will be more of touristic with leisurely walks and culture sharing.

Alojamiento y comida

Volunteers will live in shared accommodation in both places. The minimum basic amenities will be available. Vegetarian food will be served but in the town you will have access to non-vegetarian meals as well. A cook will be there but volunteers are expected to help him and occasionally cook their own meals.

Localización y ocio

RUCHI Campus at village, Bandh of Solan district and the town of Mcloedganj in Dharamshala, a tourist hub.

The project will start from village Bandh, Solan district where headquarters of RUCHI is located and terminate in Dharamshala, the headquarters of Tibetan Government in exile. Opportunities will be there for short and long treks in the mountains. While in RUCHI campus, nearby Kasauli town is a major attraction. A visit to Shimla will offer an opportunity to see high Himalayan Mountains and British architecture. Dharamshala is well known as a much sought after tourist attraction.

Trabajo a desarrollar en el voluntariado

During this camp, participants can share their passion for (and learn more about) global & local environmental issues, as well as photography. If you are interested in topics such as climate change, waste management and sustainability, and you also love taking photos, then this project is for you!

While developing artistic and technical photography skills, you will be focusing on environmental and sustainability issues through non-formal activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits facilitated by SEEDS. One of our aims is to help create more environmentally aware consumers & travellers!

You will visit local projects on environment and conservation. These may include hands-on activities or guided visits, such as outdoor cleanup tasks, a local fauna and/or flora exhibition or an Icelandic culture museum. Some of these activities are dependent on weather conditions, as on the availability of our partners.

You will also have time to put the theory about photography into practice while exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant are selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS' social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods and laptops if possible.

Alojamiento y comida

SEEDS participants will stay in a house in Reykjavík. The facilities are basic with an equipped kitchen, dining and living room, bathrooms, showers and a washing machine. Participants sleep in shared rooms with up to 6 people so everyone is expected to behave considerately. Please bring your own towel.

Participants will receive food supplies and be in charge of the cooking and cleaning activities. Note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. Do not forget to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music or games from your country for the intercultural evening. Be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.

Localización y ocio

Reykjavík is a dynamic, modern city that lives in harmony with nature, using renewable energy sources. The world’s northernmost capital bridges the Atlantic, between Europe and North America. Reykjavík is spread across a peninsula with a panoramic view of the mountains and the Atlantic. It is an international city with a lively cosmopolitan cultural scene surrounded by beautiful nature.

It may be very cold and/or rainy, so we recommend bringing warm and waterproof clothes (underlayers, overcoats, scarves, gloves and hats) and good walking shoes, as some of the activities take place outdoors.

SEEDS will organise a night photography and aurora hunting workshop in the city or in the vicinity of Reykjavík. Northern lights are a natural phenomenon depending on solar activity and meteorological conditions, so we cannot guarantee you will see northern lights, but the night photography workshop will be organised anyway.

Some excursions (e.g. to the Golden Circle, Hot River hike and/or South Shore) can be arranged at discount fares if there is free time after the camp workshops/sessions.

SEEDS’ programme combines learning, sharing and hands-on activities. On top of that you get to know Iceland and its culture while having fun, exploring the city, its attractions and stunning nature, which you can experience in possible excursions. Participants should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances (up to 1,5 hours) during activities and sightseeing.

Note this project is a learning/sharing camp and not a standard workcamp. This project has a smaller volunteer work part and puts a bigger emphasis on the personal learning process than on the community impact.

Comentarios adicionales

English will be the language in the camp; intermediate conversational skills are needed.

Requisitos

Participation fee EUR 450 (Euros). The fee can either be transferred in advance via bank transfer, or paid in cash on arrival. It includes transportation from the meeting point to the camp (on the first day) and the night photography workshop.

Trabajo a desarrollar en el voluntariado

The camp is based at Alviðra, which offers a range of activities to connect people with nature, such as community gardens, wildlife workshops, school programs, and hikes. As part of the camp, volunteers help maintain the center through tasks like gardening, renovating the house and other projects such as removing old fences to protect wildlife, marking walking paths, and potentially do forestry work like trimming or planting trees.

This camp combines learning, sharing, hands-on work and fun. No previous experience is needed. Volunteers should be prepared to share environmental issues from their home countries and be ready to spend time outdoors. Volunteers should be ready to adapt and be flexible with the work and free-time schedule. Depending on the weather, we may not be able to perform some of the activities as planned.

Alojamiento y comida

SEEDS volunteers stay in an old farm which has been transformed into an environmental education centre. The facilities are basic with an equipped kitchen, dining and living room, bathroom, shower and a washing machine. Volunteers sleep in shared rooms, with up to 6 people per room.

Volunteers will receive food supplies and will be in charge of cooking and cleaning. Please note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. Do not forget to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music, games or movies from your country for the intercultural evening. Please be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.

Localización y ocio

The accommodation is located an hour drive south-east from Reykjavík. The house serves as an environmental-educational centre and sits under Ingólfsfjall, The Mountain of Ingólfur, with a view of Eyjafjallajökull where the volcanic eruptions began in March and April 2010.

The place is registered as natural Icelandic heritage; the nature, vegetation and birdlife is rich in variety and quantity. The volunteers can enjoy outdoor activities in a peaceful and beautiful location with a small stream and a pond nearby. Hiking trails with maps about cultural heritage can be found throughout the area, which is a popular attraction among both foreign and local visitors.

The nearest town, Selfoss, only 10 minutes-drive away, with 6500 inhabitants, is a centre of commerce and small industries where you find a geothermal swimming pool, shops, museums, cafés and bars.

Additional excursions (e.g. Golden Circle, the South Shore or Reykjanes Peninsula or a day-trip to the city of Reykjavík) can be arranged at discount fares depending on time availability, weather conditions, and the number of volunteers interested.

The weather may be cold or rainy, so we recommend bringing warm and/or waterproof clothes.

This camp is part of SEEDS' ongoing efforts to raise awareness, promote engagement in environmental issues and to support sustainability, organic and permaculture farming, social inclusion, education and hands-on actions in the field. Volunteers will gain insights into local and global challenges through non-formal educational activities such as hands-on work, visits, discussions, and workshops.

SEEDS volunteers have the opportunity to participate in different projects in collaboration with Landvernd (the Icelandic Environmental Organization), the EcoVillage at Sólheimar, the Icelandic Ministry for Environment and Natural Resources, Umhverfisstofnun (the Icelandic Environmental Agency) and Blái Herinn (the Blue Army).

SEEDS volunteers will take on a variety of activities, depending on weather conditions and the needs of our partners including working in the forestry section and vegetable greenhouses in the EcoVillage, as well as participating in a nationwide project to raise awareness of ocean pollution, plastic waste, and engage the group in hands-on cleanup efforts in the area, allowing volunteers to make a direct impact!

Direcciones al punto de encuentro

Meeting time is at 16:00 (4:00 pm) on April 16 at the SEEDS Office in Reykjavik.

Trabajo a desarrollar en el voluntariado

Note this project is a learning/sharing camp and not a standard workcamp. This project has a smaller volunteer work part and puts a bigger emphasis on the personal learning process than on the community impact.

A day trip to the Hot River area, combined with a cleanup or work with an environmental project in the area, is included for the participants in this camp. Some excursions (e.g. to the Golden Circle and/or South Shore) can be arranged at discount fares if there is free time after the camp workshops/sessions.

It may be very cold and/or rainy, so we recommend bringing warm and waterproof clothes (underlayers, overcoats, scarves, gloves and hats) and good walking shoes, as some of the activities take place outdoors.

Every year, Special Olympics Belgium organises the National Games. In 2026, the Games will be held in Hautes-Fagnes. More than 3,000 athletes, accompanied by 1,200 coaches, are taking part in the Games in around twenty sports disciplines.

Changing the lives of people with intellectual disabilities through sport and promoting their social inclusion. This has been the mission of Special Olympics since it was founded in 1968 by Eunice Kennedy Shriver in the United States. And it works! Since then, Special Olympics has become an international movement active in 193 countries, with more than 5.5 million athletes with a mental disability taking part in adapted sports training and Olympic-type sports competitions, as well as participating in the Healthy Athletes Programme and much more.

Special Olympics Belgium was founded in 1979 and is officially recognized by the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee. It organises National Games every year (alternatively in Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia) and send delegations of Belgian athletes to the Winter and Summer Special Olympics World Games. These competitions are open to any athlete with intellectual disability who regularly practise a sport at his/her own level. More than just a physical and sport training, these activities enhance the social development of the athletes.

The Opening Ceremony (with Torch Run) and Games will take place from 14th to 16th of May 2026.

Trabajo a desarrollar en el voluntariado

PHASE ONE: PREPARATION
During this phase, the festival starts to take shape. We build everything from the ground up — starting with tents and practical setups, and finishing with the small final details.

Every year we come up with new ideas and plans, and we decorate the entire area. This includes building graffiti walls, painting signs, and placing creative elements around the festival site.

There will, of course, be plenty of time at the beginning to get to know each other. We really value it if participants want to contribute with creative ideas and help us shape the festival.

PHASE TWO: THE FESTIVAL
This is the most fun phase! This is when we open the festival we’ve created together over the past few days.

During this time, you can relax, hang out with the other volunteers and guests, listen to music, and enjoy the festival atmosphere.

PHASE THREE: CLEANING
This phase starts Sunday morning, when guests begin heading home. We pack everything down, and it usually goes quite fast, so we finish on Sunday. Volunteers can leave either Sunday or Monday morning.

FREETIME
Since the camp is short, there are no full days off. As we get closer to the festival, there will be more to do.

From Tuesday to Thursday, working hours are approximately 10:00 in the morning until 8:00 in the evening. On Friday and Saturday, there will be more free time, as more volunteers join. This gives you the chance to meet Danish people and experience the festival.

Alojamiento y comida

Get ready for the full festival experience!

Sleeping Facilities
The festival has a sleeping area where both guests and volunteers will stay in tents during the festival days. We will also sleep there in the days leading up to the festival.

We can provide tents, so you only need to bring a sleeping bag and an air mattress or something similar. Let us know if you are missing anything — we might be able to lend it to you.

Kitchen + Bathroom Facilities
A trailer bathroom will be available when you arrive.

Each day, one hot meal will be prepared by our local chef, Jens. The other meals will be simple toasts or sandwiches that we make ourselves.

When the festival begins, there will also be food stands and community dining available.

Localización y ocio

The festival area is close to the sea and located in the countryside. It is an old military missile launcher site, now empty except for two garages that we use.

The event takes place in the middle of May, so it’s a good idea to bring warm fleeces and cozy clothes, as we will be outside most of the day.

Trabajo a desarrollar en el voluntariado

As a volunteer at the Aalborg City Cup, you will play an essential role in making one of Northern Europe’s largest youth football tournaments a success. Each year, around 300 teams and 8,000–10,000 visitors come from across Europe to participate in and watch the games. To ensure the event runs smoothly, volunteers will help in various areas, including event setup, food service, information support, and venue maintenance. Your tasks will change throughout the day, keeping things dynamic and engaging! On the first day, you’ll sit down with the host to create a work plan and choose the assignments that interest you most—so be sure to read about the different tasks in advance. That way, you can hit the ground running and make the most of your experience!

Event Area Setup
Before the tournament starts, volunteers will help prepare the event area. This includes marking and setting up the 21 football fields, arranging seating areas, and making sure that everything is in place for the opening of the tournament. Volunteers may also assist with setting up banners, signs, and equipment needed for the matches and fan areas. You can also assist in one of the many food trucks on the grounds. This task is ideal for those who enjoy working outdoors and don’t mind some physical work.
Work hours: 10:00 – 18:00

Food Hall Assistance
With thousands of players, coaches, and visitors attending, the food hall is a crucial part of the tournament. Volunteers will help serve breakfast and dinner to the participants, ensuring meals are distributed smoothly. This role involves organizing food trays, keeping the dining area clean, and assisting guests who have dietary restrictions or special requests. It’s a great opportunity to meet people from different countries while contributing to the overall hospitality of the event.
Work hours: 06:00 – 22:30, which is divided between breakfast serving from 06:00-10:30 and dinner serving from 16:00-20:00

Information Center Support
The information center is the heart of the event’s organization, where teams and guests can come for assistance. Volunteers will be responsible for checking in teams upon arrival, handing out tournament schedules, answering general questions, and helping lost guests find their way around. This role requires good communication skills and a friendly attitude, as volunteers will interact with international visitors and ensure they have a great experience at the tournament.
Work hours:
17:00 – 22:00 (on Wednesday)
09:00-22:00 (on Thursday, Friday and Saturday).

Cleaning & Maintenance
To keep the event area welcoming for players and visitors, volunteers will help with regular cleaning and waste management throughout the tournament. This includes collecting trash, ensuring restrooms and common areas are clean, and keeping the playing fields tidy. This task is crucial in maintaining a professional and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone attending the Aalborg City Cup.
Work hours: Varies based on need

Alojamiento y comida

Sleeping + bathroom facilities:
The exact accommodation is not yet confirmed, but volunteers will either stay at a local school or a community house. If the group stays at a local school, the host will provide mattresses and sleeping bags, and there will be access to a bath and toilet. If the group stays at a community house, the host will also provide mattresses and sleeping bags. The bath and toilet will be located just across the street, and there will be a kitchen available for making snacks.

Meals + kitchen facilities:
All meals will be provided through a small token system, which can be used at food trucks. In some cases, meals will be shared with other staff, creating a great opportunity to connect over food.

Trabajo a desarrollar en el voluntariado

Note this project is a learning/sharing camp and not a standard workcamp. This project has a smaller volunteer work part and puts a bigger emphasis on the personal learning process than on the community impact.

Campo de voluntariado organizado por

SEEDS’ programme combines learning, sharing and hands-on activities. On top of that you get to know Iceland and its culture while having fun, exploring the city, its attractions and stunning nature, which you can experience in possible excursions. Participants should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances (up to 1,5 hours) during activities and sightseeing.
