VIN s Environmental and Conservation Programs raise community awareness of critical environmental issues and develop effective solutions. VIN runs various ecological projects that aim to conserve, promote, and protect the environment and culture while preventing, mitigating, and controlling water, land, and air pollution to enhance the health, safety, and welfare of current and future generations. We utilize permaculture for sustainable farming and have been teaching and implementing it since 2018. We believe that permaculture plays a vital role in restoring the entire ecosystem Holi, the Festival of Colors, is a major celebration in Nepal, symbolizing the victory of good over evil and the arrival of spring. During this lively festival, people throw colored powders and water to share blessings and celebrate a bountiful harvest. Originally a Hindu tradition, Holi is now celebrated by many, including non-Hindus across South Asia and beyond. The festivities include gathering with family and friends, playing music, and enjoying special foods and drinks. Volunteers help prepare and celebrate the Holi festival in the community.

Arbejde

“Christmas for all” is a fine initiative carried out by the NGO ASTOVOT to offer children in the
district of Zomayi and beyond the joy and the magic of Christmas. In an environment where the
occasions of amusement are rare, the project transforms the library of the organization and its
surroundings into a place of celebration and sharing for more than ten days. Games, animations,
workshops and celebrations will enlighten the everyday life of the children, since many of them
don’t have the chance to receive presents or sweets during that time. Thanks to “Christmas for
All”, they can experience unique moments of joy, moments of their dreams and moments of
friendliness, all by strengthening the ties of solidarity in the heart of the community.

Kost og logi

The volunteers are living in groups of 3 to 4 people per room; the social mix is being organized
collectively. The conditions are simple: some places provide dry toilettes and showers without flowing water. The organization provides plastic or foam mats. The volunteers may bring their
sleeping bags. The access to drinking water is being provided.

Food:

The volunteers prepare their meals by themselves. They are organizing groups to work in the
kitchen and for other household stains. The ingredients are local, sometimes bio and the specific
diets are being respected. The volunteers have furthermore access to a variety of tropical fruits
(bananas, oranges, pineapples, mangos, avocados and papayas).

Beliggenhed og fritid

The commune of Kpalimé, situated 120 km north of Lomé, is ideal for those in love with nature
and hiking. The region offers magnificent landscapes, mountains, a rich tropical flora and
numerous natural waterfalls. Moreover, Kpalimé is known for its traditional city centre, which is
home to many artists, as well as local craftsmen.

Arrangeret af

The NGO Association Togolaise des Volontaires au Travail (ASTOVOT) has over 60
years' experience in international voluntary service. Every year, it welcomes many
volunteers from all over the world to its various short, medium and long-term
volunteering projects (3 weeks to 12 months) in Togo. These projects enable national
volunteers (around 200) to work alongside international volunteers and create a real
intercultural exchange throughout the year. As a member of the Coordinating
Committee for International Voluntary Service (CCSVI- UNESCO) and the Network of
Africa Voluntary Organisations (NAVO), ASTOVOT works in partnership with several
voluntary organisations in Europe, Asia, the United States, Canada and Africa. Its
projects focus on community development through the promotion of education and
citizenship, health, social services, environmental protection and intercultural learning,
and the renovation and construction of social and community infrastructure.

Objectives:

General objective:
Allow children of the district of Zomayi and around to live moments of joy, creativity and
sharing during the time of Christmas.
Specific objectives:
• Mobilize donations and gifts for the beneficiary children
• Create a relaxation setting, leisure and development
• Value the talents of the children (arts, music, theatre, sport)
• Favor the sharing and conviviality during a meal with the parents
• Organize cultural, sportive and artistic activities
• Offer every child presents and sweets

Activities to do:

• Development and decoration: installation of the “Christmas Village”, the traditional box, stands
and a fir tree
• Animations and rehearsals: music, dance, games, creative workshops, sports tournaments
• Projection of movies for children and adolescents
• Festive apotheosis: performances of the children (choreographies, theatre, fashion shows,
poetry slams, recitals) in front of their parents
• Convivial preparation and sharing of a meal with children, parents and supervisors
• Distribution of presents and sweets to all kids, to enclose the festivities
• Evaluation of the program after the activities

Rejsevejledning til mødested

At the international airport of Lomé, a member of the organization welcomes the volunteers and
drives them to the site of their apartment. The way by taxi costs between 3000 and 5000 FCFA (5
to 7,5€).
To reach Kpalimé, the volunteers use a taxi-bus or a bus from Lomé. The bureau of Astovot is the
meeting point, as well as the departure point to leave for the project. The distance between Lomé
and Kpalimé is 121km and the journey should take between 1h45 and 2h. It is being
recommended to book two seats for more comfort in the car.

Arbejde

During this camp, participants can share their passion for (and learn more about) global & local environmental issues, as well as photography. If you are interested in topics such as climate change, waste management and sustainability, and you also love taking photos, then this project is for you!
While developing artistic and technical photography skills, you will be focusing on environmental and sustainability issues through non-formal activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits facilitated by SEEDS. One of our aims is to help create more environmentally aware consumers & travellers!
You will visit local projects on environment and conservation. These may include hands-on activities or guided visits, such as outdoor cleanup tasks, a local fauna and/or flora exhibition or an Icelandic culture museum. Some of these activities are dependent on weather conditions, as on the availability of our partners.
You will also have time to put the theory about photography into practice while exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant are selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS' social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods and laptops if possible.

Kost og logi

SEEDS participants will stay in a house in Reykjavík. The facilities are basic with an equipped kitchen, dining and living room, bathrooms, showers and a washing machine. As participants sleep in shared rooms with up to 6 people, everyone is expected to behave considerately. Please bring your own towel.
Participants will receive food supplies and be in charge of the cooking and cleaning activities. Note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. Do not forget to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music or games from your country for the intercultural evening. Be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.

Beliggenhed og fritid

Reykjavík is a dynamic, modern city that lives in harmony with nature, using renewable energy sources. The world’s northernmost capital bridges the Atlantic, between Europe and North America. Reykjavík is spread across a peninsula with a panoramic view of the mountains and the Atlantic. It is an international city with a lively cosmopolitan cultural scene surrounded by beautiful nature.

Some excursions (e.g. to the Golden Circle, Hot River hike and/or South Shore) can be arranged at discount fares if there is free time after the camp workshops/sessions.
It may be very cold and/or rainy, so we recommend bringing warm and waterproof clothes (underlayers, overcoats, scarves, gloves and hats) and good walking shoes, as some of the activities take place outdoors.

Arrangeret af

The SEEDS’ programme combines learning, sharing, hands-on activities, getting to know Iceland, its culture, having fun, exploring the city, its attractions and the stunning nature, which you can experience in possible excursions. Participants should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances (up to 1,5 hours) during activities and sightseeing.
Note this project is a learning/sharing camp and not a standard workcamp. This project has a smaller volunteer work part and puts a bigger emphasis on the personal learning process than on the community impact.
SEEDS will organise a night photography and aurora hunting workshop in the city or in the vicinity of Reykjavík. Northern lights are a natural phenomenon depending on solar activity and meteorological conditions, so we cannot guarantee you will see northern lights, but the night photography workshop will be organised anyway.

Rejsevejledning til mødested

The Meeting time will be at 18:00 (6:00 pm) on December 14 at SEEDS’ office in Reykjavík. Participants that cannot arrive on time (later or delayed flights) will be sent information on how to reach the camp on their own.

Yderligere detaljer

Participation fee EUR 400 (Euros). The fee can either be transferred in advance via bank transfer, or paid in cash on arrival. It includes transportation from the meeting point to the camp (on the first day) and the night photography workshop.

intercultural and language still are the main purpose. Volunteers will share and exchange
culture, language, and knowledge with the local community and students in the school.
English as the global language and intercultural learning are important for local Thai people
to understand and be for global citizens. English is also the gateway to open mind and
knowledge. The project was created by VSA Thailand and has been successful for eight
years. Former volunteers came to give the opportunity for children in schools and the local
community. Many local people improved their English skills through exchanging with
international volunteers, or at least they try to speak the English language more and dare
to face and work with the foreigner even though they cannot speak English. Moreover,
volunteers’ activities impacted the local community. They used to stay lively and trusty
with the foreigner. Local people have a chance to learn, accept, and adopt the ways of life
with the different cultures.

Volunteer project: The project activities take place around Banepa - a beautiful town at 1500m altitude, surrounded by the green hills and panoramic views of the Himalayan range, just an hour bus ride from Kathmandu. Nature is all around and the air here is far better than in the bustling capital. Still Banepa offers amenities like restaurants with Wi-Fi, pharmacies, grocery stores and to top it all off, a beautiful old town. From here, field trips to a variety of places are possible, for example ancient Hindu temples, various trekking opportunities and all the sights of the Kathmandu valley are not far away.In this project, we are helping the forest community and the Senagal village of Kavre district nearby Banepa. After the earthquake, a lot of buildings were destroyed, and the local population needs help in rebuilding the village. Arrival Information for Palestine/ IPYL workcamp

How to get to Palestine/ workcamp meeting point:

1. If you are coming by plane to Tel AVIV:

From the Ben Gurion Airport in Tel-Aviv, the easiest (and cheapest) way to get to the meeting point is to take a shared taxi (Sherout in Hebrew) from the airport to Jerusalem. These taxies (vans) are parking directly outside the main door of the airport. They work 24 hours and cost around 50 New Israeli Shekel –ILS- (about 13 €). A Sherout is a white van or mini-bus, which normally takes 9 passengers. If the taxi is not full, you will have to wait. It takes about 50-60 minutes to get from Ben Gurion (Tel Aviv) airport to Jerusalem (depending in the traffic situation). This is the most convenient and the safest way to travel from Tel-Aviv to Jerusalem. We don't advise you to take public buses.

The Israeli driver of the Sherouts will drop you where you want in the way to Jerusalem on in Jerusalem (some drivers, though, might not agree to drive you to East Jerusalem: Damascus Gate or Herod's Gate). You can ask the driver to drop you at Damascus Gate (by the ancient wall of the Old City of Jerusalem), or at the closest point possible (New Gate- another ancient Gate of the old city). Once you are there, do not enter the old city. Outside, in the street opposite to Damascus Gate, you will find the Bus station choose Bus number 231 that transports to “Bet Jala-Bethlehem” ask the driver to drop you at the very last station near to the traffic lights, (called Bab Ezqaq Junction), which will be our meeting point, one of our local volunteer will be waiting there to pick you up to the camp and drive you to the site/accommodation. The drive from Jerusalem to the meeting point is around 30-40 minutes (depending on the traffic situation of your arrival time). (The journey from east Jerusalem to Bethlehem cost about 8-9 NIS= 2 euros). This bus works only till 7 PM.

2. If coming through Jordanian borders:

When arriving at Amman International airport, you have to buy a visa (around 60-70 Euros) before passport control. Usually this visa is valid for 6 months and allows you to cross to Palestine (Israel) from any crossing point between both countries.
There are 3 crossing passages between both countries (Jordan and Israel) one in the north called; Sheikh Hussien (near the sea of Galilee) and one in the south called Aqaba crossing near the Red Sea. Both are touristic crossings in both direction (but it will cost you some extra money to cross- entrance tax/visa). From the borders take bus to get to Jerusalem and then follow the instructions as above.
The third crossing is called KING HUSSIEN Crossing (in the Jordan Valley near the Dead Sea and takes you to Jericho city) which is the easiest and closer to the meeting point. Once crossed the borders, you will find Sherut (service small vans for 6- 9 passengers) with yellow plates. These vans take you straight to Damascus Gate in East Jerusalem and then follow the instructions to Bet Jala as above. Please note that Jordan charges 60-70 Euros/ passport as visa cost when you land at their airports.

Meeting Point:

Place: last bus station near to the traffic lights, (called Bab Ezqaq junction)
Date: 16/12/2025
Time of Meeting: 16:00-19:00 PM
Those arriving later than this meeting time on that day should inform us in advance and we will arrange another pick up for you. Please use the same route as above unless we told you differently.

Visas and Arrival:

Citizen from most western countries can obtain visa on the spot at any Israeli border point. But, please, check it beforehand with the Israeli Embassy in your country to see if this is still the case or if there has been any change. When you arrive to the Israeli border, the Border officials could question you and could search your luggage and sometimes yourself in an exhaustive way. This is normal for Israeli security procedures, no need to be paranoid. Usually they do that for people who want to express solidarity with the Palestinian people. In all cases, it’s up to the volunteer to what to tell the security, but the best is that they tell the truth; to say that you are coming to take part in a voluntary work in the city of Bethlehem and celebrate Christmas in the this holy city with an organization called IPYL. Please always remember that you are not doing anything illegal at all. The border officer will scan your passport and handle you a small piece of paper, which is actually the visa. Please keep it safe inside your passport during all the time you are in the country and don’t lose it.
