Intercultural and Language (ICL) – Songkhla, learning and sharing the intercultural and
language still are the main purpose. Volunteers will share and exchange culture, language,
and knowledge with the local community and students in the school.
English as the global language and intercultural learning are important for local Thai people
to understand and be for global citizens. English is also the gateway to open mind and
knowledge. The project was created by VSA Thailand in 2011 and has been successful for
eight years. Former volunteers came to give the opportunity for children in schools and the
local community. Many local people improved their English skills through exchanging with
international volunteers, or at least they try to speak the English language more and dare to
face and work with the foreigner even though they cannot speak English. Moreover,
volunteers’ activities impacted the local community. They used to stay lively and trusty with
the foreigner. Local people have a chance to learn, accept, and adopt the ways of life with
the different cultures.
Songkhla is a VSA basement, there are many schools that require international volunteers to
teach in their school. So, volunteer expect to work in rural school which ready on duration of

Mafia Island is located along the eat cost of Tanzania. It offers a good variety of places visit including Marine park, swimming and other water sports , eco and cultural tourism.

Arrangeret af

Climate change is one of the most general threats to peace and security worldwide at the least at this moment. However, it has been obvious that not many people would list this as a key factor in international relations and domestic welfare. Climate change touches all areas of security, peace building, and sustainable development.

The impacts of climate change are already adversely affecting vulnerable communities, as well as stretching the capacities of societies and Governments. Climate change is a ‘threat multiplier’, i.e. something that interacts with existing pressures (such as social conflict, economic inequality, large-scale migration, or competition for resources) and further compounds these issues—increasing the likelihood of instability or violent conflict. This project is organized in cooperation with Mafia Local Youth center to increase awareness on the impact of climate change through different actions.

Rejsevejledning til mødested

Mikono Pamoja Community Development Project is located in Rodi Homabay County. ‘Mikono Pamoja’ means holding hands and it is based on the notion of people working together to do more. The project was started to help improve the livelihoods of vulnerable people including the youth, children, widows, and the aged persons. The main economic activity in the project region is farming and fishing.

Homabay County is among the Counties in Kenya with high HIV prevalence, especially among the youth. This is somehow attributed to inadequate exposure to the outside world and a lack of employable skills. In addition, teenage pregnancies are on the rise among girls. The introduction of simple life skills could help reduce infection rates and teenage pregnancies. Life skills can also be extended to children when they are still younger to help them mature into responsible adults.

Old people mostly stay alone in the village since children have moved out to urban areas to seek employment. In some families, the old are widowed and therefore life has become a bit difficult for them. They have to bring water from the river and do other chores by themselves. The shelters are also not in good condition. This project presents an opportunity for volunteers to work with the local people, and learn the Luo culture as the people also learn from them.

The project aims to foster cultural exchange through engaging workshops on Japanese culture with a group of young Japanese participants. These workshops will be held in schools, residential facilities and eledery houses, and various community spaces, providing an opportunity for participants to immerse themselves in the rich heritage and traditions of Japan.

The initiative seeks to bridge cultural divides and promote mutual understanding by showcasing aspects of Japanese culture such as traditional arts, cuisine and language. Through
interactive sessions, participants will have the chance to learn even basic phrases in Japanese.

The workshops will not only serve as educational experiences but also as platforms for dialogue and cross-cultural interaction. Participants will be encouraged to ask questions, share their own cultural perspectives, and engage in meaningful exchanges with the Japanese group. Moreover, the project will emphasize inclusivity and accessibility by targeting diverse audiences, including students of all ages, residents of care homes, and members of community organizations. The initiative aims to promote cultural appreciation and tolerance among people from different backgrounds.

Overall, the project objetive is to foster lasting connections and promote global citizenship by celebrating the diversity of human culture while highlighting the common threads that unite us all. Through the shared experience of learning about Japanese culture, participants will gain valuable insights into the importance of cultural diversity and the beauty of cross-cultural exchange.

Last but not least, the Japaneese group will be given the opportunity to participate in tasks for the recovery from the disastrous effects of the DANA in Valencia, to rebuild the apiary that De Amicitia has in the area or any other activity useful for the development of the municipality that is proposed by the local Civil Society.

Intercultural and Language (ICL) – Nakhon Ratchasima, learning and sharing the
intercultural and language still are the main purpose. Volunteers will share and exchange
culture, language, and knowledge with the local community and students in the school.
English as the global language and intercultural learning are important for local Thai people
to understand and be for global citizens. English is also the gateway to open mind and
knowledge. The project was created by VSA Thailand and has been successful for eight
years. Former volunteers came to give the opportunity for children in schools and the local
community.

Environmental protection is a pressing global priority, particularly in Nepal, where solid waste management poses significant environmental and health challenges. Rapid urbanization and changing consumption patterns increase waste, which, if poorly managed, causes environmental harm and health risks. In VIN s communities, improper waste disposal in schools and public areas contributes to littering and health issues like respiratory problems, diarrhea, and skin diseases. Non-biodegradable waste (NBW), especially in areas like Jitpurphedi and Kavresthali, further damages the environment and agriculture. This project, Environmental Stewards: Preserving Our Common Home, aims to promote sustainable waste management practices such as segregation, recycling, and composting, empowering communities for a cleaner, healthier Nepal.
