It is located right next to the famous former convent of San Martín de Tours. City Council of Huaquechula and the state Secretariat of Culture. This is supported by the exchange of good practices that will be carried out through the French Embassy in Mexico, with the French association REMPART. This project will be hosted by the Lutheran Parish in Rongai which is intending to address provide early childhood accessibility to all children in the community. Distance travelled to school every day by pupil has substantial adverse effects on attendance at school. Younger children at the age of 4-6 are often the most vulnerable to access early childhood educational centers. Walking several kilometers every day is more strenuous for a small child than a teenager. Schools are located further from children’s homes. These factors among many others create significant barriers preventing millions of the world’s younger children from attending school. This project is aiming to renovate old church building into day care center where young children from the community can access early childhood education. It is also aiming to provide extracurricular activities for students after school hours.

Closest international Airport: Keflavík/Reykjavík (KEF). Bus station: Central Reykjavík (BSÍ). The Meeting time will be at 18:00 (6:00 pm) on October 31 at SEEDS’ office in Reykjavík. Participants that cannot arrive on time (later or delayed flights) will be sent information on how to reach the camp on their own.

Arbejde

You will visit local projects on environment and conservation. These may include hands-on activities or guided visits, such as outdoor cleanup tasks, a local fauna and/or flora exhibition or an Icelandic culture museum. Some of these activities are dependent on weather conditions, as on the availability of our partners.
You will also have time to put the theory about photography into practice while exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant are selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS' social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods and laptops if possible.
The SEEDS’ programme combines learning, sharing, hands-on activities, getting to know Iceland, its culture, having fun, exploring the city, its attractions and the stunning nature, which you can experience in possible excursions. Participants should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances (up to 1,5 hours) during activities and sightseeing. Note this project is a learning/sharing camp and not a standard workcamp. This project has a smaller volunteer work part and puts a bigger emphasis on the personal learning process than on the community impact.
SEEDS will organise a night photography and aurora hunting workshop in the city or in the vicinity of Reykjavík. Northern lights are a natural phenomenon depending on solar activity and meteorological conditions, so we cannot guarantee you will see northern lights, but the night photography workshop will be organised anyway.
During the time of the camp, Iceland Airwaves, an annual music festival, is hosted in Reykjavik. There are performances from established and new artists in a host of different venues around the city. SEEDS does not provide passes for the festival, however there are a lot of free off-venue events all around town to attend.

Kost og logi

SEEDS participants will stay in a house in Reykjavík. The facilities are basic with an equipped kitchen, dining and living room, bathrooms, showers and a washing machine. As participants sleep in shared rooms with up to 6 people, everyone is expected to behave considerately. Please bring your own towel.
Participants will receive food supplies and be in charge of the cooking and cleaning activities. Note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. Do not forget to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music or games from your country for the intercultural evening. Be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.

The Märkische Schweiz Nature Park, 40 km east of Berlin, offers a unique natural and cultural landscape as well as an area for our project in and around the ‘Drei Eichen’ environmental education centre. By cooperating with the nature park administration, we will not only get to know the nature park and its surroundings, but also actively help to shape it.

We are offering this work camp because it is fun to have young people from all over the world with us and because we simply need a lot of hands for some of the work!
People and pets live on the grounds of the Drei Eichen environmental education centre - and there are almost always lots of guests: children, families, seminar groups.
For activities in between, Drei Eichen and its grounds offer many opportunities to learn about plants and animals, nature conservation and alternative ways of life and to actively participate. These include the tipi village and the wilderness education centre, the Zeidlerei station and a pottery workshop. Excursions or courses can be organised here by prior arrangement.

On some days you will ‘give something back to Drei Eichen’ by working on the farm - because sometimes we need many hands: e.g. for wood protection coating on the playground, repair work, building nesting boxes or replanting. We decide at short notice and depending on the weather.
At various locations in the Märkische Schweiz Nature Park, we will spend a few days helping to carry out various landscape conservation work in different natural areas. Autumn is the time when trees and shrubs are pruned, but also when planting takes place and bulbs are put in the ground. We are happy to help here! We also want to tackle invasive species.
There are many lakes and beautiful scenic areas that invite you to explore and relax after work! In autumn, there are also large migrations of cranes and geese, which rest and feed in large numbers on the nearby lakes. It would be possible to organise an excursion with an expert.
All work, whether in landscape conservation, crafts or creative design, takes place outdoors. We plan together on site, depending on the current weather conditions, on which days we do which work and which days we take off.

Kost og logi

You will stay at the Drei Eichen environmental education centre, located in the middle of the forest, 4km from Buckow (www.dreichen.de). As a group, you will have a flat with kitchen, bathroom, toilet, lounge-kitchen, large balcony and 3 simple multi-bed rooms. You cook together. Money for shopping will be provided. Vegetarian or vegan meals are possible. Please indicate any intolerances when registering.

Beliggenhed og fritid

For activities in between, Drei Eichen with its terrain offers many opportunities to learn about plants and animals, nature conservation and alternative ways of life and to actively participate.
There are many great options for spending your free time. Among them are GPS tour(s) in the nature park, guided hikes on biodiversity, a visit to the bat museum, trips to surrounding lakes, going to the movies, visiting the pub "lokal." in Buckow, making a campfire; going to an artificial climbing forest or doing a canoe tour in the area. Those who long for more urban hustle and bustle on the weekend can also take a day trip to Berlin or even go to Poland, which is not that far away.
We plan together on site, depending on the current weather conditions, among other things, on which days we do what work and on which days we take off.

To Be Me or Not to Be? Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? This time, the spotlight is on the most important subject: you! Together, we’ll explore self-identity—Who am I? How do Idiscover myself? Through discussions, workshops, and the power of theatre, we’ll embark on a journey of self-expression and discovery. Ready to step onto the stage with other curious minds like yours? Then… curtains
up, lights on!

After getting to know each other and buildung a strong team dynamic, you will create a theatre performance in small groups and finally bring it to life and present it to the local community. The stage is YOURS!

Important notes: this project is a YOUTH EXCHANGE! Youth Exchanges provide an perfect opportunity for groups of young people from different countries to meetand get to know each other. During a youth exchange, youngsters organise a series of activities (e.g. workshops, debates, simulation games etc.) around a theme of common interest.

No participation fees and travel expenses will be partially reimbursed according to the Erasmus+ guidelines.

Rincon de Guayabitos, also known as Guayabitos, is a beach town located in the astonishing Sierra Madre Occidental, in the state of Nayarit and bathed by the waters of the Pacific Ocean. It is a popular tourist destination due to its proximity to the cities of Tepic, Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta.

Riviera Nayarit is emerging as one of the most attractive and magic destinations of Mexico. The area extends approximately 300 kilometers along the coast, integrated by mountainous jungle and facing coastal islands. For those seeking a more rural and rustic experience with magic beach towns in Mexico, the Riviera has a massive open space for everyone along the Nayarit coast, also, for those who want to relax there are also quiet beaches and there are other beaches with heavy waves for surfers.

Arrangeret af

Vive Mexico has been organizing this workcamp regularly in Rincon de Guayabitos, Nayarit since 2014. The main achievement of the project is to protect the sea turtles with the help of volunteers who will be cooperating with a team of biologists. Up to now, the project has been quite successful and has reached extraordinary results. Participating in sea turtle conservation is a great opportunity to discover the rather charming life of sea turtles.

Esikoma Community Health Project was established by the Esikoma Community Health Self
Help Group, which has been in existence since 2016. The project has constructed a community
hospital which is now offering health services to local community since November 2022. The
hospital comprises of doctor’s consultation rooms, pharmacy, patients waiting bay and
temporary wards. More facilities are still under construction.

The Self Help Group is comprised of volunteers operating within Busia County, with the mission
of spearheading implementation of community health, environmental projects and
development programs. The group focuses on Health and community development and other
health related issues. The group received training on HIV/AIDS prevention, VCT Counseling,
Community mobilization, and home based care giving and education from the German
foundation for world population.

During the period, the trainees realized that there was a big health problem in their
community. Apart from HIV/AIDS as the main problem, there were more health issues such as
an increase number of orphans/ vulnerable children, and jiggers menace as a result of parents’
death from HIV/AIDS. Most orphans were infected by jiggers, this was as a result of parental
and guardian poor care. In general such children lack basic needs such as health care, shelter,
education, and clothing among others.

Having realized all these problems within the community, the Community Health Volunteers
decided to establish a group and named it as Esikoma Community Health Volunteers (ECHV).
The group is engaging in activities like providing medical services, Jiggers eradication program,
creating tree nurseries and planting trees, Health Education in local schools and Distribution of
sanitary pads to schools. The profit generated from selling of the trees is channeled to the
hospital project.

The main goal of this project is fostering intercultural exchange and language learning. Volunteers
share and exchange culture, language, and knowledge with the local community and school
students.
English, as a global language, plays a vital role in preparing local Thai people to become global
citizens. It opens doors to new knowledge and perspectives. Since its inception by VSA Thailand in
2011, the project has successfully empowered children and local communities to improve their
English skills and gain confidence in interacting with international volunteers.
This cultural exchange has also strengthened relationships between locals and foreigners,
encouraging mutual understanding and adaptation to diverse ways of life.
Songkhla, as a VSA base, has many schools eager to host international volunteers, primarily in
rural areas, for meaningful teaching and cultural exchange during the volunteers’ stay.

The CYA-Learning Center (CLC) was established in 2014 with a focused mission: to provide English education to local children and teenagers. What began as a modest bamboo classroom has grown into a thriving educational hub, thanks to the dedication of local and international volunteers. Today, CLC is equipped with modern facilities, including well-furnished English classrooms, a library, and a computer center, creating a nurturing environment for learning and personal growth.

CLC’s impact extends beyond academics. The center actively engages the community in practical activities such as vegetable gardening, soap-making workshops, and classroom renovation projects. These initiatives not only teach valuable life skills but also foster sustainability and continually enhance the center's infrastructure.

The evolution of CLC stands as a testament to the power of collective action and volunteerism. It showcases how shared dedication and effort can bring meaningful and lasting change to a community.

We invite you to join us at CYA-Learning Center and be part of this transformative journey.
Your time, expertise, and passion can make a profound difference in empowering local children and uplifting their communities. Together, we can continue building a future filled with opportunity, hope, and positive impact.

Intercultural and Language (ICL) – Nakhon Ratchasima, learning and sharing the
intercultural and language still are the main purpose. Volunteers will share and exchange
culture, language, and knowledge with the local community and students in the school.
English as the global language and intercultural learning are important for local Thai people
to understand and be for global citizens. English is also the gateway to open mind and
knowledge. The project was created by VSA Thailand and has been successful for eight
years. Former volunteers came to give the opportunity for children in schools and the local
community. Many local people improved their English skills through exchanging with
international volunteers, or at least they try to speak the English language more and dare
to face and work with the foreigner even though they cannot speak English. Moreover,
volunteers’ activities impacted the local community. They used to stay lively and trusty
with the foreigner. Local people have a chance to learn, accept, and adopt the ways of life
with the different cultures.
Ban Krogluek School is a primary school, there are about 10 teachers and 100 students from
kindergarten (2-6 years old), pratomsuksa 1-6 (7-12 years old). VSA has sent volunteers
to this School since 2015.
