Arbejde

Based on the time of the year the volunteers will be working during the day or at night in the months of August and September from 20:00 to 08:00. Depending on the number of turtles that come ashore, two teams might be formed among the volunteers. In this way, each group will be taking turns, working one night, and taking the next night off for recovery. In addition, the weekends are also spared for resting. Some of the activities to be performed are:
1. Finding adult turtles and collecting their eggs.
2. Moving the eggs to a protected place called Vivero.
3. Releasing newborn baby turtles into the sea.
4. Patrolling the beaches at night.
5. Making some reconstruction in the most important turtle camps of the region.

Please consider that the schedule is subject to change depending on the weather conditions and the condition of the sea turtles and it is possible to work with crocodiles in case there is no work with turtles, this can happen mostly in the months of January and February. The coordinator or the camp leader will be informing you regarding your work schedule.

Kost og logi

Volunteers will be staying in a shared room with another volunteer. Food will be provided

Beliggenhed og fritid

Rincon de Guayabitos, also known as Guayabitos, is a beach town located in the astonishing Sierra Madre Occidental, in the state of Nayarit and bathed by the waters of the Pacific Ocean. It is a popular tourist destination due to its proximity to the cities of Tepic, Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta.

Riviera Nayarit is emerging as one of the most attractive and magic destinations of Mexico. The area extends approximately 300 kilometers along the coast, integrated by mountainous jungle and facing coastal islands. For those seeking a more rural and rustic experience with magic beach towns in Mexico, the Riviera has a massive open space for everyone along the Nayarit coast, also, for those who want to relax there are also quiet beaches and there are other beaches with heavy waves for surfers.

Arrangeret af

Vive Mexico has been organizing this workcamp regularly in Rincon de Guayabitos, Nayarit since 2014. The main achievement of the project is to protect the sea turtles with the help of volunteers who will be cooperating with a team of biologists. Up to now, the project has been quite successful and has reached extraordinary results. Participating in sea turtle conservation is a great opportunity to discover the rather charming life of sea turtles.

Yayasan Chow Kit (YCK) was founded in 2011 to run the school providing education, cultural workshops, leisure activities and lunch to the children aged 6-18 who are not allowed to go to public schools due to the lack of citizenship. Many of them are refugees or immigrants from Myanmar, Indonesia, etc. while others have different backgrounds in their families such as poverty, drug addiction, child abuse, prostitution, etc. YCK operate in partnership with Ministry of Women and Child Welfare and got new rooms on the 3rd to 5th floors of the big building in 2025. The workcamps have been successful and in 2025, 59 vols. from Japan, Italy, Hong Kong and Spain joined 6 workcamps with creating great impact! You may wonder if the volunteering for short term can be useful for their education and even worry if they feel too sad and tired to repeat hi and bye. But children have got greatly motivated to study by having international big sisters/ brothers as one of their role models and felt happiness and encouragement by having reliable adult friends since they had been terribly neglected by the society.

Mae Sot in Thailand's Tak Province Other activities - As this is only 7 days workcamp, there is no free day, so if the volunteers want to enjoy the sightseeing, they should do it before/ after the workcamp!

Arrangeret af

This project is actively working for SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDGs 10 (Reduced Inequalities), organized together with DALAA (International Volunteers for Social Development Association), Bunkyo university in Japan and BMWEC (Burmese Migrant Workers' Education Committee). Mae Sot in Thailand's Tak Province hosts numerous migrant schools for children of migrant workers from Myanmar, providing education with support from NGOs and other organizations. Ensuring stable educational opportunities at these migrant schools is considered crucial for reducing the number of children involved in child labor or crime. However, access to education for these children is currently significantly impacted. This is due to increased migration caused by political and social unrest in Myanmar, coupled with the reduction of learning center activities and decrease in teachers resulting from COVID-19. This workcamp, in cooperation with the Hsa Thoo Lei Foundation and BMWEC (Burmese Migrant Workers' Education Committee), will implement exchange activities with children at migrant schools, educational programs, and life support programs.

The Beaumotte Center is a living space where each visiting group is invited to contribute to community life. At the start of this year, we need new volunteers full of energy to share friendly moments and help with meal preparation, join the masonry team, or assist with the upkeep of the center.
If the group of participants includes at least six people, we would like to invite you to combine your energy to help us repaint one of the rooms to better welcome our visitors!

Kost og logi

You will be accommodated within our association, in a mixed two-level room with a capacity for 12 people. You will sleep in bunk beds. The center will not be able to provide access to a washing machine, so please bring enough clothing for the entire week! Wi-Fi is available at certain times. Meals are prepared by the volunteers in rotating kitchen teams. Bring your best recipes with you!
During the project, please note that you will not be having meat every day. Solidarités Jeunesses aims to reduce meat consumption on construction sites. Let us know if you have any allergies or food restrictions.

Beliggenhed og fritid

Beaumotte is located in a small rural village where social activities are few. However, this does not mean that volunteers will feel lonely or bored! At any given time, about 30 people live and work at the Center, with many more passing through regularly. Whether in the afternoons or on weekends, your group will initiate and organize leisure activities. Individual preferences, local possibilities (hiking, multi-sport fields, village visits, etc.), and financial resources will influence your choices.

Arrangeret af

The Beaumotte Center works towards social and cultural integration by opening its doors to everyone, without distinction. True to its mission, the association promotes active participation from all individuals, creating an environment where living together takes on its full meaning. In a society marked by individualism and consumerism, Beaumotte advocates the idea that every experience, no matter what it is, is a source of wealth and an opportunity to learn. Here, we open up, enrich ourselves, and share practices and knowledge to build a more supportive world. With this in mind.
Beaumotte invites its visitors to overcome the boundaries of socio-cultural differences through collective activities: building walls, sharing recipes from around the world, or painting living spaces in vibrant colors. Together, we cultivate a true community life, with its joys and challenges, where everyone contributes to transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Rejsevejledning til mødested

The meeting point will be at 5:30 PM (the train to Besançon Viotte departs from Paris Gare de Lyon at 12:18 PM), at the main entrance of Besançon Viotte train station.

Trapaing Sangke Fishing Community (TFC): A Model for Sustainable Development

Trapaing Sangke Fishing Community (TFC) is a community-based organization dedicated to preserving and protecting mangrove forests to maintain ecological balance and support marine life, including crabs, fish, and shrimp. By safeguarding these vital ecosystems, TFC enables local fishermen to sustain their livelihoods within the community, reducing the need for migration to other countries.

Since 2012, Cambodian Youth Action (CYA) has partnered with TFC to support this impactful initiative. Through our collaboration, TFC transformed into a thriving eco-tourism destination in 2014, now attracting hundreds of visitors each week. This remarkable success is a testament to the unwavering efforts of local residents and the invaluable contributions of our volunteers.

However, continued progress depends on sustained support. Volunteers remain essential in fostering TFC’s growth, working alongside the community to ensure the area remains clean and well-maintained while expanding mangrove reforestation and nurseries. Join us in empowering TFC to thrive as a beacon of sustainability and resilience. Together, we can make a lasting difference.

During this camp, participants can share their passion for (and learn more about) global & local environmental issues, as well as photography. If you are interested in topics such as climate change, waste management and sustainability, and you also love taking photos, then this project is for you!
While developing artistic and technical photography skills, you will be focusing on environmental and sustainability issues through non-formal activities such as workshops, discussions, presentations and visits facilitated by SEEDS. One of our aims is to help create more environmentally aware consumers & travellers!
You will visit local projects on environment and conservation. These may include hands-on activities or guided visits, such as outdoor cleanup tasks, a local fauna and/or flora exhibition or an Icelandic culture museum. Some of these activities are dependent on weather conditions, as on the availability of our partners.
You will also have time to put the theory about photography into practice while exploring the city. At the end of the camp, the best photographs from each participant are selected for an online exhibition on SEEDS' social media. Participants should bring their own digital cameras, lenses, tripods and laptops if possible.
SEEDS’ programme combines learning, sharing and hands-on activities. On top of that you get to know Iceland and its culture while having fun, exploring the city, its attractions and stunning nature, which you can experience in possible excursions. Participants should prepare to share environmental issues from their countries and be ready to spend time outdoors walking medium distances (up to 1,5 hours) during activities and sightseeing.

Kost og logi

SEEDS participants will stay in a house in Reykjavík. The facilities are basic with an equipped kitchen, dining and living room, bathrooms, showers and a washing machine. Participants sleep in shared rooms with up to 6 people so everyone is expected to behave considerately. Please bring your own towel.
Participants will receive food supplies and be in charge of the cooking and cleaning activities. Note the food SEEDS provides will be vegetarian. Do not forget to bring some traditional/typical food, drinks, recipes, music or games from your country for the intercultural evening. Be aware some items or ingredients may be expensive in Iceland and you will need to buy them yourselves or bring them from your country.

Beliggenhed og fritid

SEEDS will organise a night photography and aurora hunting workshop in the city or in the vicinity of Reykjavík. Northern lights are a natural phenomenon depending on solar activity and meteorological conditions, so we cannot guarantee you will see northern lights, but the night photography workshop will be organised anyway.
