Arbeit

Volunteers can help conduct academic English classes for teachers of the center, conduct workshops and classes, participate in judging art and sports competitions, and even create and run your own club and activities! All responsibility for the organization of training sessions, compliance with the schedule of classes and other events, as well as control over the participation of children in the camp life is assigned to the teachers of the “Sodruzhestvo” educational center. Volunteers help improve children’s English speaking skills through accompanying children in various activities of the camp program. The schedule of events of the camp program is flexible. As a rule, training sessions are held from 10 a.m. to 13 a.m., 4 -5 times a week. After lunch, competitive sports and cultural events are held. We expect volunteers to participate in training sessions, and in other events of the program according to their interests and opportunities.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Participants will live in a flat, with beds, blankets and bed linen, free Internet access. Meals 4 times a day will be provided in a local canteen.

Lage und Freizeit

The base of the camp is located in a picturesque place of the Meshchera national Park, on the shore of a lake, 90 km from Ryazan. The base includes stationary brick two-storey buildings, sports grounds. The Russian club will work for volunteers and excursions will be organized.

The Sodruzhestvo educational center traditionally holds an educational camp every July for children aged 13 to 17. We are always looking for volunteers to spend the summer with us! Our multicultural camp programme includes linguistic teaching, development of entrepreneurial skills, cultural and sports programs, multiple competitions and themed-days.

This project is for special children lovers. Volunteers will help during preparation of the inclusion festival (some manual work with setting up stage, places for workshops), during the festival itself - showing guests the territory, carrying out different workshops and games for children with disabilities. And there will be a day to clean the territory after the festival.Also some help will be needed in collecting grass, sticks for food for horses. Walking with horses, dogs from shelter. Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Volunteers will live in separate wooden house with kitchen, toilet and bathroom. Sleeping bag is needed. Volunteers will cook by themselves, some farm products will be provided, other products will be provided as well.

Village Chernovo is situated near St.Petersburg and Gatchina i one of the places with tsar palace and beautiful park. There is a lake for fishing, forest for horse riding. Meetings with students from local language school will be organized, some excursions will be held. St.Petersburg is quite easy to reach.

Rancho Golden Horseshoe is a place not far away from St.Petersburg for family activities. But one of the most important activities carried by organization is hippotherapy for children with different kinds of disabilities. During the year, 50 of such children receive this therapy for free. Twice during the summer Rancho runs inclusive festival for kids with disabilities. Also, on the territory of Rancho there is a shelter for homeless animals and small zoo.

This project is for those who love kids and would like to help them, as all the activities are based in local camp for kids aged 7-13. Kids are supervised by Russian group leaders (fluent English speakers). Volunteers will accompany kids throughout the day (in different excursions, quests, competitions, etc.), give master-classes and organize activities in English related to intercultural learning for kids, so that they could improve their language skills and learn about different countries the volunteers are coming from. If desired, volunteers can attend/participate/give lessons at the language centre (9 a.m. – 9 p.m.). We will be busy 5 – 8 hours a day 5 days a week, but time can be split between morning master classes and evening events.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

The volunteers will be accommodated in school – on the territory of the cultural institution, which is located on the territory of city of Mozhga (4 people per room). The infrastructure at the school is good, warm showers, toilets, washing machine are included. Good internet connection is available. Food: will be served 3 times a day in the cafeteria. You are welcome to bring traditional recipes and goodies from your home country. It is possible to organize meals for vegetarians.

Lage und Freizeit

There are a lot of opportunities for free time: museums, events, nightclubs, outdoor activities. Some guided museum visits will be provided. Mozhga is situated near to a big city Kazan, where you can walk around the center and visit interesting events. Moreover, after or before the camp volunteers can visit the capital - Moscow city, visit a lot of historical or modern museums, summer festivals and architectural squares.

The camp will be directed at work with children in the summer camp of the city of Mozhga, Udmurt republic. The main topics are formation of interest in national harmony among the youth of the city of Mozhga, a sense of internationalism, ethics of interethnic communication: sympathy for the languages of different peoples, friendliness and respect for peers and adults of different nationalities, understanding and acceptance of ethnic identity, customs and traditions of different peoples, their functional significance; manifestation of an interested attitude to life.

volunteers will live in mansard, there are matrasses on large connected double-deck beds. Sleeping bag is needed. On the first floor there is a huge dining room and kitchen. Products are provided, volunteers cook by themselves. Shower with hot water is available, bio-toilet is outside the building.

Lage und Freizeit

village Stavotino is situated 180 km from St.Petersburg, in Luga district of Leningrad s region. It was recently found out that settlements of first (or very ancient) humans were found there. Near by there are some villages with old and beautiful churches, museums of local crafts, bee farm, river and lake, forests with berries and mushrooms (depends on season), barbeque place, where volunteers can go on their free-time.

NGO BIODYNAMICA is an organization that for 20 years carries projects on healthy farming without pesticides and other chemicals. All the products they grow are BIO and eco-friendly. Organization has 5 hectares of fields and is run by couple of very friendly and open people aged 70 and 75. Of course, volunteer s work is needed.

Accommodation in tents on the banks of the river and in guest houses of the Forest School. The food is organized: the cooks prepare food, and the participants are helping in the kitchen in turns.The menu in the camp is vegetarian.

In the first half of the day, volunteers are helping the villagers, and in the second part - master classes, seminars, lectures, trainings dedicated to environmental and nature protection topics, healthy lifestyle, history and culture of the village. In the evening - sports activities, table games, yoga and dancing, music and theater evenings, games and quests.

The project is organized to gain experience of natural rural life through assistance to the environmental education project Forest School. The Forest School is a project of a training center established in a Russian northern village. Teachers of the Forest School strive to conduct a friendly environment, hold educational events for children, youth and adults, which study the laws of nature, the culture of the Russian village, traditional and innovative knowledge. Teachers of the Forest School are experts in their field recognized in Russia and abroad. The project is organized by Moscow based Center of recourse economy, which works for promoting recycling and other environmental topics in Russia. The camp will have around 100 Russian participants.

Melikhovo Estate Museum has been welcoming local volunteers for many years but this summer the estate will host an international volunteering workcamp for the first time. The volunteers will mostly work in the garden and their tasks will include planting, watering, weeding, pruning, cleaning.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Volunteers will stay in a local hotel with beds and common showers. Participants will cook for themselves.

Lage und Freizeit

Birds singing, sweet smells in the air and incredible quietness all around – in the estate you are certain to feel that you’ve gone back in time and you are Anton Chekhov’s guest. The museum employees will be glad to teach the volunteers to play croquet and other games popular in Chekhov’s time. But it is not going to be too quiet! The volunteers will have a common room and an outdoor space near the house to spend time together, and the meadows and forests around to go hiking and have picnics. On Saturdays, local theatre stages Chekhov’s short stories and plays. The volunteers will have an opportunity to visit all the branches of the museum both in the estate and in Chekhov (town named after Chekhov), and other local sights including the famous 16th century monastery Davidova Pustyn.

The project is hosted by Melikhovo Estate Museum of Anton Chekhov, located 60 km from Moscow. It is in Melikhovo that Chekhov, famous playwright and master of short story, wrote more than 40 of his masterpieces, including “The Seagull” and “Uncle Vanya”. He was not only a prolific writer but also a practicing doctor and a philanthropist, and besides the manor house, the museum includes the schools that he built for local peasants, the post office that he opened and the medical station imitating the one where he consulted the locals. Animation festival )Insomniai i is the first Russian non-commercial open-air animation festival. Annually, in summer they find a meadow, build screens, meet guests and show best animation within a couple of nights. The ambitious goal is to show good animation to as many people as possible. The idea is that for right perception open-skies and darkness are necessary. Only such darkness could return us back to ourselves, unglue from illusions and rush of civilization. This year the animation Festival will be held for the 8th time.

Volunteers will be: • Boating along the river; • Exploring the Taiga forest; • Marking touristic path with special signs; • Easy physical work like cleaning bushes and path from natural garbage (old trees and branches); • Cleaning of the territory from garbage, cleaning of waste bins, loading, unloading of garbage; • Arrangement of parking places (canopies, tables, benches, bonfires) - Installation of information stands on the route; • Participation in forestry activities, loading and unloading; • Catering for volunteer camp participants and park staff; • Change of residence at environmental measures protected natural complexes and objects; • Carrying out work on the identification of patrolling specially protected natural areas; • Fire hazard monitoring.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

As volunteers will follow a route along the river, they are going to stay in tents and wooden cabins (tourist camps have saunas with a possibility to wash and to wash clothes) Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be cooked in the specially organized field kitchen. Please keep in mind that there is no internet/mobile connection, running water, shops/supermarkets and be ready to stay in basic conditions. Be ready to tolerate mosquitoes.

Would be a good idea to take playing cards, board games, musical instruments. There is a possibility for hiking, trekking, and enjoying the nature, free from modern technologies and far from civilization.

The Republic of Komi is a federal subject of Russia. It is situated to the west of the Ural Mountains and very famous for its rich forests. Virgin Komi Forests is the first natural UNESCO World Heritage site in Russia and the largest expanse of virgin forests in Europe. The main aim of the workcamp is conservation and safeguard of the natural heritage. It’s a great chance to see breathtaking landscapes, geological monuments, hike and explore Russia’s largest natural park Yugyd Va. Volunteers will boat on the picturesque river in kanoe on the territory of the national park “Yugyd Va”.

Host organization doesn't have funding for food unfortunately. SFERA as coordinating organization is contributing half of the costs and we're kindly asking volunteers to provide 40 euro for the other half. 100% of the fee will go for food costs.

-Teaching foreign languages to the participants (in the form of playing games, singing songs or improving their language skills through discussions). These include the volunteer s native language, and English if their English level is B2 or higher and they feel comfortable with teaching two languages.-Giving a presentation of the volunteer s native country with the aim to teach the children its history, culture, customs and traditions.-Organizing and together with children taking part in some sport activities, strategic games, shows and handcrafts. -Making intercultural and educational workshops of different kinds: handcrafts, sports, national games, music, dance, photography, etc.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Volunteers will stay in the resort center White stones (Belye Kamni) in a brick house. The counselors live together in male and female rooms for 2-4 people. Showers are available all the time. No sleeping bags are needed. Food is provided in the local camp cafeteria (5 meals a day).

Lage und Freizeit

Free time for volunteers is flexible. The volunteers are mostly busy in the morning having lessons. The rest of the day is flexible and free hours depend on the day s schedule and other volunteers schedule. You have to keep in mind that the kids will always be around, asking questions and just trying to communicate or play with you.During the camp you will have an opportunity to visit Cheboksary at the end of the camp.

Volunteers will help local residents and employees of the Kenozero National Park to maintain and preserve cultural landscapes. The highlight of this project is haymaking. It is one of the most pleasant rural works, where work is combined with entertainment. Participants will learn how to mow, put haystacks and dry hay in a traditional way.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Volunteers will be staying in a very simple house in Golbachikha village (sleeping bags are needed). Food will be cooked by volunteers. There is Russian banya (sauna) by the lake. Mobile connection is available via Megafone and Yota operators. During the time of the camp there will be a person responsible for First aid.

Gorbachikha village. Free time activities: - trips along Kenozero lake - walks around the ancient villages of Kenozero - visiting the famous Kenozero chapels - getting to know the locals - visiting museums and visit centers of folk crafts of the Kenozero National Park; - workshops of traditional folk crafts.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

National park Kenozero is a protected area which represents the model of historical human habitat. It is the place that managed to preserve ancient history and culture of the Russian North region. The high level of conservation of the cultural landscapes and their valuable elements make the national park Kenozero the unique region with no analogues in Russia or worldwide. Yet, the thing that makes Kenozero National Park unique is its cultural heritage and survived Russian traditions. There are about 100 monuments of cultic and civil architecture in Kenozero, big and small villages with friendly people, ancient monasteries located in remote woodlands, numerous holy forests. In 2004, Kenozero National Park joined the Global Network of UNESCO Biospheric Nature Reserves. The park has been hosting volunteer projects for several years.

Since 2008 Perspective Camps (Перспектива) have been uniting volunteers from Russia and abroad in their sincere desire to help local communities of Yaroslavl Region in renovating social infrastructure. Over the last years the volunteers have renovated schools, kindergartens, orphanages, elderly people’s apartments, parks (for the 1000 anniversary of Yaroslavl), monuments, churches and social rehabilitation centers. This year you will continue this work in Pereslavl-Zalessky, together with a group of Russian volunteers. You will participate in such activities as repairing social objects (museums, houses-boarding schools, schools e.t.c.) and monuments of architecture. You will work 6 hours a day (with a lunch-break), 6 days a week.

Lodging, food and excursions are provided by the local host. Volunteers will live in a dormitory, located not far from the work place, toilet and bathroom on the floor. We will have a bus to reach the working place if necessary. Meals 3 times a day will be provided in the canteen. Alcohol is prohibited in our camp.

Lage und Freizeit

Pereslavl-Zalessky is located 140 km from Moscow, on the banks of Lake Pleshcheyev, at the confluence of the Trubezh River. This camp is a great opportunity to visit one of the oldest cities in Central Russia. This city was founded by Prince Yuri Dolgoruky in 1152. An outstanding statesman and commander Alexander Nevsky was born, lived and reigned here. At the end of the 17th century, near Pereslavl, on the shore of Lake Pleshcheyev, the young Tsar Peter I began the construction of the so-called "amusing flotilla" that laid the foundation for the Russian navy. Entertainment and competitions will be held for participants in the evenings. You can swim in the river. Days off are the time for excursions, picnics and free time activities. Volunteers may enjoy hiking around the area with a lot of museums and beautiful nature. The trip to Yaroslavl – the centre of region and one of the oldest and most beautiful cities of the “Golden Ring” of Russia will be organized. A short course of Russian will be provided. It includes 15 hours of classes, 3 hours of practical usage (field trips) and 2 hours of guided but real communication with participants from Russia almost every evening (20 hours in total). The course covers basic grammar and such topics as personal information, likes and dislikes, daily life, food, shopping, weather, illnesses, clothes.

Arbeit

Volunteers will learn and practise use of alternative sources of energy, practise permaculture (gardening and animal care), create meaningful art objects (art science) and eco-buildings, make forest research etc.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Accommodation in guest houses of the Forest School. There is warm water, WC and banya (Russian sauna). Mobile and Internet connection is available via Yota, Megafone and MTC, The food is organized: It is prepared by cooks and the participants help in the kitchen in turns.The menu is vegetarian (possibly vegan). There are shops, polyclinic in the nearest village Alferovskaya (25km), The nearest train station iz in Kizema. There will be a nurse at the campsite.

Free time - lectures, games, interactive workshops devoted to the topic of the camp, national dances and games. - guided tours to the village, to the forest and to the local museum.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

The project is organized through assistance to the environmental education project Forest School. The Forest School is a project of a training centre established in a Russian northern village. Teachers of the Forest School strive to conduct a friendly environment, hold educational events for children, youth and adults, which study the laws of nature, the culture of the Russian village, traditional and innovative knowledge. Teachers of the Forest School are experts in their field recognized in Russia and abroad. The camp is organised for the demonstration platform of Forest school which shows local solutions in reduction of carbon-dioxide footprint and adaptation to climate change. The camp will have up to 100 Russian participants.

Meeting point in Moscow in the morning of July 2st, night train to Kizema (18 hours, 50 euro for return ticket), bus or car transfer to the village

Anforderungen

Vaccination is not required for this camp, but we recommend applying for this project only if you don t have allergies to the wool, dust and pollen.

Arbeit

Volunteers will help to clean the park and green areas of Museum’s homestead and its branches.

Unterkunft und Verpflegung

Participants will leave in the hotel on the territory of Khmelita. Ingredients for food will be provided. Volunteers will cook for themselves in groups of 2.

Khmelita has a big territory with barocco-styled House, church, park with pounds and Griboedov’s museum. Volunteers will have an opportunity to visit all cultural objects of Khmelita and its branches. Also several excursions will be organized.

Wer organisiert das Projekt?

The workcamp is run in the cooperation with Griboedov State Historical-Cultural and Natural Museum-Reserve "Khmelita". It is the oldest surviving nobility estates Smolensk land. Khmelita represents a huge memorial, historical and architectural value. Aleksandr Griboedov is very famous Russian writer, poet, composer and diplomat. In XIX century he usually visited his relatives in Khmelita.
